My husband and I got married in Pasadena this past June, and with over 300 guests we knew we at least needed a day-of coordinator to stay sane. Since I'm Vietnamese American, it was important to me to also hire a Vietnamese American coordinator who could understand any underlying cultural dynamics and be able to communicate with my side of the family, so Mellie Bee had been in the back of my mind for years even before I got engaged. Melissa put me at ease during our initial consultation and I appreciated her honesty about what services we would practically and realistically need, which is why I moved forward with booking. Leading up to the day, I knew we were in good hands. Melissa and her team worked with us to put together a meticulous wedding day timeline and master checklist, combing through every single detail and trying to account for any potential friction points and setbacks. During the rehearsal and on the day, Melissa was always checking in on us, letting us know we were being taken care of, and making sure to stay on top of everything. We had a few hiccups throughout the day that sometimes verged on panic-inducing, but Melissa and her team kept us calm and smoothed things over every step of the way. We loved the energy and enthusiasm they all brought, and they really helped our wedding be a fun and memorable experience that wasn't overcast by stress and mishaps. Having a professional by your side is a must for any big event, and we highly recommend Mellie Bee Events! Thank you so much for all your hard work, Melissa! read more

Your wedding day flies by within a blink of an eye and something is bound to stray from original plans. Melissa, Thaolinh, and Emaly helped us set up, stay on time, and even helped me use the bathroom in my dress haha! Can't rate Melissa and her team enough. Thank you girls for everything! read more

Mellie Bee Events - Wedding Planning Near Me

The only thing I regret about my wedding day is wasting on money on this "planner". I paid over $3000 for 6-8 months of planning and day-of-coordinator. At best, I got a couple of emails, ALOT of back and forth in the month leading up to my wedding and a coordinator who came up to me during my dinner to ask how to solve a issue. I booked Melissa and her team 13 months out from my wedding. I had had a phone call with her and given the prices and the services that would be included, I figured this was great! I didn't hear from her or her team until 8 months out from the wedding so I reached out and met with Melissa 5 months and 4 months out. The meetings were helpful and her planning document was thorough, so I'll give her that. She agreed to come to our details meeting 2 months before our wedding and did have good questions. But leaving the meeting she said "It would be better if you texted me, I just have too many emails to keep track of"....... While I don't mind texting, I don't know if that's the best thing to say to someone paying you thousands of dollars? At this point, I also just assumed she wasn't helping with the planning at all. I planned everything, found every vendor and coordinated everything. As a part of the package, her team was supposed to provide "vendor referrals & comparables & selection". I asked for a list of DJ & makeup-artists, got it, and then heard nothing else. I didn't know I had to request each of those individuals things be done. I didn't mind because I had the time to email vendors and review their packages, but I wasted my money on the "planning" part. 1 month before the wedding, her team did not have a timeline ready, despite me finished up the pre-document 2 months before the wedding. I has to email her team asking for it and when I finally got it, it has comments on it like "where are the dinner plates for the buffet going to be? Will both maids of honor be giving a speech?" and many other questions that could have been emailed to the venue (like I was paying them to do) or sent to me before my wedding was 21 days away. On the day of the wedding rehearsal, Melissa was 20 minutes late due to rain and babysitting issues. While I understand both of those are out of her control, I was still frustrated. I showed her all the decorations that needed to be set up the next day and then proceeded to build some of them with the help of my wedding party, while she left. On the actual wedding day, she was almost nowhere to be found.Part of the package also included her team meeting the bridal party as we got ready and bringing us food. She never brought it up and I never asked, so I just had family bring me food. Again, maybe I should have asked her to do her job, but also, I shouldn't have to? Once we got to the venue,I never saw her and I have to assume she and her two assistants were setting up the dinner space, but the venue team then had to come to my maids of honor with all their questions. I had made a binder with all the timelines, decorations and designs and her team used it to set everything up. So good thing I had spent the last 6 months making that after paying her to be my planner and coordinator. She even thanked me at the end of the night for being so organized and then asked if she could take a bouquet home. As I sat down for dinner, she came over to tell me that one of the tables had been set up with 8 chairs instead of 10. Even though she and her team has supposedly set up the tables (menus, favors, etc.) and didn't notice (or likely double-check). And what was I supposed to do with that? Thankfully, the venue team was already fixing it but like, what am I, as the bride, supposed to do about that? Fix it. Her team did help clean up at the end of the night, but under the management of my maids of honor who they just treated as in charge. And I handed off the vendor tips to her when I got to the venue for my husband to put cash in. We found them in his getting ready room at the end of the night. So the one thing she had told me multiple times she would handle and is like the most BASIC thing a day-of-coordinator should do, what just left undone by 3 people. All this to say, save your money on the planning and coordinating. From other reviews, Melissa and her team are clearly capable of being helpful and attentive. But they could barely manage to be that for us. She never checked in on how things were going. I shouldn't have had to ask her to do each of the things I was promised in her contract, she should just do them or ask if I needed help. I didn't know I had to ask my coordinator for help every step of the way, I thought the hiring and paying of money conveyed that? read more

Can't say enough great things about Melissa and her team! Not very often do people look back on a wedding and talk about the wedding planner, but that's exactly what happened with us. Everyone only had high praises for Mellie Bee Events. We had surprise rain, which meant last minute changes, and with 21 vendors, but even through all of that, Melissa and her team made sure that everything still ran as smoothly as possible. You want to think of your wedding day/night as the most beautiful and most memorable of your life and with the help of Melissa and everyone at Mellie Bee Events, that's exactly what my husband and I got. My wife and I hired Melissa to support out vision of creating what we called the "wedding of the century" a little under 2 months ago. We had talked to her in great detail about what we wanted and of course, like with any wedding, most of if not everything we initially planned out changed, for the better, and Melissa and her team were holding our hands through the entire process. They made sure all the details were prepared in advance and ended up where they needed to be - she even drove to my apartment early the day of the wedding to pick up a, overstuffed SUV's worth of decorations and favors to get the off my hands and into her team's. Needless to say, she kept us calm, on track and within our timeline, got us food and kept us hydrated for a 8AM-11:30PM wedding. We were successful and our families are still talking about the wedding of the century. Communication with Melissa were quick and she was always adjusting to and being flexible with my wife and I's chaotic work schedules to make sure we had time to plan and talk logistics. She picked up all the pieces we dropped or forgot and even had her team ghost around our elders to make sure they were okay too. We always had great vibes between each other and even after the wedding we text back and forth to check in. Thank you so much Melissa and your team for making everything possible! She is a gem and anyone in her care would be lucky to have her watching your back as everyone else watches you be wed! read more

Our experience with Mellie Bee Events was amazing. Both Thao and Melissa were involved with our 10/04/24 wedding and we could not recommend them more. Thao planned most everything leading up to the day of. She was responsive and very very thorough. She helped close a lot of the gaps between our different vendors and ensured everyone was on the same page. Melissa was the main coordinator the day of our event. She was everywhere right when we needed her and keep popping up at the most important times throughout the night. She made sure we ate, made sure we got our his/her drinks, and kept the flow of the evening going. Most impressively her whole team broke everything down in what seemed like less than 30 minutes. By the time I walked back to the bridal suite everything (and I mean everything) was neatly packed in all of the assigned cars. More so, Melissa is a very kind and caring person. She gives off a warm and calming energy that is needed on anyone's big day. Thank you Melissa and Thao -Michael and Katie read more

Weddings are no doubt one of the most important days of anyone's lives, and Mellie Bee Events should not be trusted to handle your wedding if you're considering it. Huge disconnect because of their lack of communication, and even ended up being dishonest and unprofessional when addressing the issue of them literally STEALING a flower arch that was never theirs. Tried to cover up with a story about one of their staff's dad being hospitalized and that's why they took the arch, but tried to cover it up because they were embarrassed. Businesses should be owning up to their mistakes and work with their clients to ensure their paying customers are happy with their services, but instead tried to lied and tell sob stories that they acknowledged were not an excuse in the hopes of justifying their actions. Overall, dishonest and unprofessional. read more

Dishonest, Incompetent, Unprofessional Coordinators - A Nightmare Experience Words cannot describe the sheer disappointment and anger we felt towards the coordination team from Mellie Bee Events (Melissa, Tam, Thaolinh). From the very start, there were red flags about their dubious professionalism and integrity that culminated in an appalling act of deception on our wedding day. What should have been a joyous celebration was marred by the apparent theft of our beautiful, sentimental flower arch by none other than the Mellie Bee coordinators themselves. When we frantically searched for the arch toward the end of the night (we pointed directly to the spot where it should have been), every single one of them feigned complete ignorance, boldly lying to our faces that they had not seen it. Their blatant dishonesty was infuriating enough, but it was the subsequent trickle of lies and pathetic excuses that truly exposed their lack of ethics and accountability. First, they tried to pass it off as a "misunderstanding" the day after, stating they had merely packed up the arch as instructed by the florist, who is also my wife's aunt. However, we had confirmation from the florist herself that no such instructions were given. Even when presented with video evidence from the venue catching Melissa and one of the assistants (Thaolinh) red-handed dismantling and removing the arch, they still had the audacity to deny wrongdoing. After failing to try to convince us that it was just some misunderstanding, they finally ADMITTED to stealing the arch. However, the excuses evolved into desperately placing the blame solely on the "assistant," trying to salvage some professionalism while still avoiding personal responsibility. As the lies unraveled further, the lead coordinator Melissa trotted out a conveniently timed personal crisis about her father's hospitalization to garner sympathy and explain her "distressed" state that caused her to completely forget about what happened to the arch right after she broke it down. However, eyewitness accounts (myself included) confirmed she appeared completely unbothered and even jovial throughout the night, even sticking around after the wedding to have a "friendly" chat with me and my friend. Even if it was true that her father was hospitalized, that somehow lead to her having complete amnesia regarding the arch to the point where she did not know what happened to it, even though video footage shows her breaking it down? Even though we pointed directly at the spot it should have been, the spot that she had just been standing in minutes prior? Granted, they eventually returned it to us, but probably after realizing that we would catch them in one way or another. However, I don't care if we got it back or not. It's about the principle of it all. To steal from your own paying customers on one of the most important days of their lives is completely unacceptable, deplorable, and appalling. To top it all off, we had to go back and forth about this with one of the other coordinators, Tam and have not heard anything from the main coordinator and business owner, Melissa. It has been 3 days since our wedding and we have not even received a simple 1-to-2 line apology from her. At every turn, we were met with deception, cover-ups, and utter disrespect from people who were being paid to ensure our special day went smoothly. The Mellie Bee team's unconscionable actions and complete disregard for honesty and integrity left us feeling violated and betrayed during what should have been a celebratory time in our lives. Avoid these unprofessional, untrustworthy coordinators at all costs. Mellie Bee Events has demonstrated they cannot be counted on to act with even an ounce of decency or humanity. An absolute nightmare that tarnished our wedding memories forever. read more

About three months before our wedding, we decided to add a reception. Fortunately, we found Melissa and her team. Words cannot describe how critical Melissa was in guiding us through our Vietnamese-American Catholic wedding and reception. Her familiarity with all these aspects allowed her to seamlessly interface with parents and church officials. Then, as fast as things seemed to be moving day of, Melissa and her team were able to coordinate all of our vendors to transform a community center into a space that was fitting for our family and friends. Somehow, Melissa and co were able to do this when they did not have access to the venue, which was in Irvine, until 9:30 am, and also had to be in Santa Ana for the church ceremony. And we only had about an hour between the end of the ceremony and cocktail hour. Melissa and her team's execution was superb despite all the logistical challenges. We really felt like Melissa and co were willing to do anything it took to ensure our special day ran smoothly. It was very reassuring each time Melissa communicated a potential concern but ended the conversation with a plan for dealing with the concern and a "don't worry." We cannot recommend them enough! read more

We hired Melissa to help us plan and coordinate our wedding. I had started planning a wedding in 2020 and had secured some of our vendors, but that wedding got canceled by the venue. Fast forward to 2022, we started planning again at a new venue, that unlike the first one, was not all inclusive. By this time, I had stepped in to help my husband run our business and did not have to capacity to do a lot of wedding planning on my own. Melissa was able to recommend and get quotes for the remaining vendors. She was asking me questions for things I'd never even thought of. She was so on top of everything! Melissa was able to take so much off my plate and helped me pull together our dream wedding. Day of, her team was incredible! Thao Linh was with me and my bridal party while we were getting ready and was so helpful in managing the chaos. It ended up raining all day and some last minute adjustments had to be made, but they handled everything without me having to worry or lift a finger. My me, my husband, and all our guests had the best time. I would not hesitate to recommend Melissa and her team! read more

Hiring Melissa as our wedding planner was easily one of the best decisions my wife and I made during planning. We were looking for a wedding coordinator who also offered design services, and Melissa offered a package that fit all our needs. Melissa was key to helping us stay on budget with our vendors while still helping us build a high quality and professional team. Since we live in NorCal and were planning a wedding in SoCal, Melissa was able to bring her knowledge of local vendors and assist with reducing wedding clutter by offering a variety of décor rentals as part of our package. She would always listen to our problems and provide constructive feedback and assist with troubleshooting. Melissa also went above and beyond to source her own connections to find unique and cost-efficient decorations that matched our vision. As a day-of coordinator, Melissa and her team took great care to work with our venue and vendors to correct last minute issues. Even little gestures, such as offering boba/coffee or giving us a plate of appetizers once we finished cocktail photos, went a long way in making sure our wedding day went smoothly. Melissa, thank you for your help in creating a day we will never forget. read more

Better late than never!! This team is AMAZING!! Nothing but good things to say! At first my husband and I thought we didnt need any help but we are soo thankful we found Mellie Bee. We did her "Busy Bee" package and it made the day more perfect!! Mellie and her team were on top of everything and we did not have to worry about a single thing. This team went above and beyond from collecting our items before the wedding, double checking our lists, ensuring our vendors were ready, setting up on the day, keeping everything organized and ontime, helping coordinate table pictures, packing everything up, helping me dress change and sooo much more. If we were to do it again, we would have hired her for the whole planning! This is the team you want on your special day!! Thank you Mellie and Mellie Bee's team!! Booking Melissa as my day-of coordinator was the best decision I could have ever made. As a person, she is very detail-oriented, genuine, sweet, sincere, and a go-getter. She worked so well with all of my vendors the day of my wedding, and was able to execute everything we wanted to do! She has a very calming presence, which definitely helped during such a chaotic day. At the end, she even gave us a gift!! Melissa is literally the sweetest person ever. Mellie Bee Events - Action shot! - Wedding Planning Near Me

The best decision we made for our wedding was hiring Melissa & her team! She is so patient, calming and incredible! I had reached out to many planners in both OC and LA. Melissa was my very last inquiry but after we spoke, immediately decided to hire Mellie Bee. Melissa has a very calm and patient presence and she heard my ideas and tried to make them work instead of being discouraging about it. My fiancé and I both had very busy and conflicting schedules so we couldn't do a lot of planning, however the wedding we wanted to plan was extremely ambitious - a completely empty space where we wanted to bring in catering, rentals, string lighting, dance floor, florals, entertainment, ice cream, guest painting, and 2 open bars, photobooth and more. I had a very specific vision with lot of ideas and expectations and Melissa made everything come together perfectly! She truly went above and beyond to coordinate everything with our venue and vendors. I was simply stunned when I walked into the venue for the first time because it was better than I could have envisioned. We had a looong 16 hour day with a morning tea ceremony, temple ceremony, western ceremony and reception and Melissa and her team made sure everything ran smoothly. Thao was with the bridal party all morning and she was excellent at keeping us on track without us feeling rushed. She even helped my bridesmaids steam our their robes! Melissa checked in with us all night, made sure we got to eat a couple bites, and helped my bridesmaids bustle my dress (lol). She is super easy to talk to and really listens to you. Whenever I was stressed about something during planning, she was able to reassure me and ease my worries. We are forever grateful to her for making our wedding day one of the best days of our lives! [I will be updating my review periodically as we go through the process] Melissa and her team coordinated my friend's wedding and I was impressed. I was a bridesmaid. She made sure we were all in position and where we needed to be throughout the evening. I emailed her for wedding rates and she got back within a couple days. We set up a meeting to discuss details. She's super friendly! The vibe she gives off really made us feel like we are going to be well taken care of. At this point, we are going to sign our service agreement and will move forward with Melissa and her team as day-of coordinator. I'm excited! read more

We hired Melissa for her Queen Bee package which was the month-of/day-of wedding coordination. She and her team really showed up for us - sticking to our timeline, carrying my train, having water for us at all times, getting us more cocktails whenever we'd like, answering questions for our guests. Our photo booth team couldn't make it in the last minute, but Melissa used her connections and found us another team who came as soon as they could. Our guests loved the photo booth and couldn't tell we had any issues. Melissa also noticed my videographers were not capturing our table rounds and let them know on our behalf to get those filmed for our memories. Really appreciated her for being our advocate the whole day! 100% recommend for anyone getting married! read more

Melissa was such an incredible blessing during the wedding planning process. Initially I was only planning to get the basic package (day of coordinating) as I did not think I needed too much help, but in the end I chose her mini planning package and I have no regrets. She's so detail-oriented and I appreciated her help in creating a vision board for me to achieve my design goals (I have never been a design person so to have Melissa take care of florals was a huge weight off my shoulders!). I was also super impressed with how well she and her team organized everything and kept the day moving along according to timeline. If anything went wrong at all that day, no one had any idea that it did! She is so sweet and caring, but down to business when things needed to get done, and her patience in answering the million of questions that I had was unmatched. If you are in the midst of wedding planning and need a coordinator, look no further than Mellie Bee Events. You are undoubtedly in good hands with Melissa and her team! read more

I was debating between Mellie Bee and another coordinator, but went with Melissa since she was personable during my initial hourlong call with her. Leading up to the wedding, Melissa was helpful in walking us through our wedding timeline and minor details we didn't think of. She also helped with recommending vendors to us and her team did a great job setting up the wedding decor. Melissa and her team were friendly and welcoming to us, our wedding party, our families and guests on the wedding day. I appreciated that she also had an inventory list that we could rent some wedding decor from and that she and her team helped pack up all our wedding decor neatly so we didn't leave anything behind. On the wedding day, Melissa and her team were by our side throughout most of the night to grab us anything we needed and to help me change into my cultural and reception outfits. She also tried to keep us on track with our timeline despite us falling behind a bit. While Melissa and her team were great, there were a few things I wish they did leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day to show they went truly above and beyond. Introducing her team to us at the venue - When we arrived at the venue, we weren't introduced to her team so we didn't know who was on Melissa's team until later on. It would've been helpful to be introduced to her team upon arriving at the venue to know who we could go to if we needed anything. Melissa's team and the waitstaff were both wearing black outfits so it was hard to distinguish between the two. Prepping us on table greetings - Table greetings were disorganized since our wedding party, my husband and I didn't know which tables we were going to until we finished with the current table. We were running around in a Z shape vs an S shaped (which might've made more sense since the tables were next to each other vs being on opposite ends). She explained to us why we went in that order, but it was still confusing. Reviewing the chronological order for table greetings ahead of time would've helped us be more prepared and organized. Being late to the initial details meeting with the venue - It would've been great if Melissa double checked the details meeting time to ensure she arrived at the correct time. Melissa was 30 mins late so my husband and I attended this meeting by ourselves with the venue's event manager. It would've been helpful to get Melissa's insights on some of the decor since we were making most of the decisions without her. We were unsure if there were some things we weren't considering so having her there would've made us feel confident in our decor choices. This was our first time meeting her in person and making a good first impression is something you should be mindful of. Lack of proactiveness and attention to detail - While Melissa and her team handled a lot of the decor tasks and checked in on my husband and I throughout the night, I noticed there was a lack of proactiveness and attention to detail from her team. When cocktail hour started, I had to point out to her team how to rearrange the ceremony flowers on the sweetheart table and that some of our centerpiece candles weren't lit. Halfway through cocktail hour, I saw a large floral decor in my bridal suite that was supposed to be placed by the seating chart. I had to tell Melissa's team to place the floral decor by the seating chart since nobody was aware it was still sitting in the bridal suite. It's frustrating to point these details out since I sent Melissa a very detailed and itemized wedding decor list with every task outlined so she and her team knew what exactly to do. I also wished one person from her team was in clear sight of us throughout the whole night since there were moments where we needed something, but they weren't around for us to call them over. Also, I wish Melissa and her team checked with the catering staff to see if my husband and I were being served each course, but I don't think they did since we only received 1 out of 8 courses. They ended up packing the food we didn't get to eat, but didn't think to ask us who was driving us back to our Airbnb and gave the food to our parents who were going to a different destination. I shared this feedback with Melissa during our debrief. While she seemed understanding for the most part, she focused on defending her and her team's actions rather than being receptive to the feedback. I hope the next couple she works with feels has a more seamless experience than we did. read more

Melissa and her team are AMAZING! Best decision I ever made during wedding planning. Our wedding got postponed due to COVID, so we had to make a ton of adjustments to keep everyone safe. I was so stressed during it all, but Melissa reassured me every step of the way. I would always feel SO relieved after our meetings or phone conversations because she was always on top of everything. Melissa is very professional, detail-oriented, and organized. She helped with my timeline (down to the little details you would never even think of!), vendor recommendations and meetings, decorations, menu, venue layout, and most importantly, staying within my budget. On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly and according to plan. She kept us on schedule, met with and directed vendors when they arrived, set up decorations, took it all down...everything. I was truly able to relax and enjoy every minute of the day, and I owe it all to her! If you're thinking about hiring a planner/coordinator...I guarantee you won't regret it. read more

Absolutely comical in the way they handle things. This company is irresponsible and not trust worthy to be handling weddings. They tried to steal my cousin's decor for his own wedding yet tried to play it off as an accident. After prying and being exposed with witnesses and camera footage, they tried playing it off with a story of the staff's relative being hospitalized. Using these cards to excuse their laughable behavior is astonishing dare I say. Trying to act like they did nothing with the decor to accidentally taking the decor to now finally admitting to their embarrassing actions is a crazy timeline. Absolutely unprofessional lot of people, BOO TOMATO TOMATO TOMATO read more

Every beautiful Bride who recently got married knows how stressful when it comes to planning the perfect dream wedding. My husband and I are very thankful that our good friend referred/recommended Mellie Bee Events to us. If you need a day of coordinator whether it's a full day, 8 hrs and etc. don't bother looking. I promise you Melissa and her team are the one for you! If you don't think you need one... TRUST ME... you need one and Melissa will make your life so much easier. Our original Wedding was Sept 5,2020 but due to COVID we had to postpone it to July 10,2021. Melissa was so kind and sweet she knew how stressful it is on all brides who needs to postpone their wedding. She called me randomly one day and just basically talk to me and telling me everything will be OKAY! I How sweet was that!?! We were in contact here and there and if I have questions or need help with finding vendors for my wedding such as MC/DJ, Photobooth, MUA, and etc. she will refer us to any vendors she knows. Her recommendations are amazing too. We loved our MC(Phillip Vinh) + Photo Booth (Shutterriotpb) they did an amazing job as well. Couple weeks prior to our wedding we met up in person to discussed more in details of our wedding to create the perfect timeline for our big day. She was very professional, detailed oriented , and organized. She put our stressed at eased and seriously after meeting with her I never slept so peacefully LOL. I was literally stressing so much because you know ASIAN wedding.. We gotta do the tea ceremony + church + reception. It is the WHOLE DAY kinda thing and it is very stressful planning a timeline from 6am-11pm. Melissa did an AMAZING job creating that for us and she also reach out to all your vendors making sure they are all aware of the timeline or if they have any questions they can reach out to her. Melissa and her team were AMAZING on the day of the Wedding. Their attention to detail and time management is spot on. Her team did a great job with detailing our guests tables, sign in tables, and other decorations for the reception. They definitely made sure everything was running smoothly during the wedding. They were all Ninjas and we appreciate them so much! We highly recommended them 100%!!! Thank you so much Mellie Bee Events!!! read more

Melissa and her team are amazing! We had over 300 guests for our wedding. I wouldn't have been able to pull off a beautiful wedding without her and her team. Their attention to detail and time management is spot on. She made sure we stayed on schedule as it started quite early at 6am and ended at 11pm. She stayed with us the entire time to make sure our needs were met from our morning tea ceremony to our matrimony and dinner reception. Her team did a great job with detailing our guests tables and dessert table to match our vision! Melissa was quick on her feet and great with improvising on a few things we had forgotten to communicate with our vendors. Couldn't be happier with the results and how she coordinated with all our vendors! Also, very happy with how organized everything was packed up the end of the night. Made my night worry free and allowed us to party the night away! read more

We hired Melissa and her team to plan our wedding . She did a phenomenal job even though we booked her last minute. My family and friends had an awesome time. She Kept me and my husband in the loop on what was going on and how everything was planned out. Also she did a great job keeping our floor plan the way we wanted it. And she also let us know if any changes might have happened. Another great part of hiring her, was that she already was familiar with our venue. So that prevented a lot of confusion, and she just was very familiar with how our venue worked and the regulations and the different rules that they had in place. She also was in contact with our DJ, and the 2 of them worked together to make our night very memorable. I would definitely suggest anyone who's looking for a wedding Planner to look her up. read more

Now that I look back at our wedding day, I can't imagine how things would have been if we didn't hire Melissa and her team. And to think that I was on the fence for a while about hiring a day-of coordinator! Forget about having family members or friends take care of things for you...You need to get someone who you can trust and be your eyes and ears, someone who is familiar with the wedding industry, and who has the means to pull everything together, so that you can have a stress-free day or as close to one as possible! I hired Melissa for only coordination of our tea ceremony (which took place at the venue) and wedding reception, which I thought would be straight forward, but she took it a step further and helped me and my husband think of things we wouldn't have considered. Even at the last minute, she had ideas for how to hang our double happiness sign for the tea ceremony and offered to provide a cake stand when she realized we didn't have one. She also helped take care of a problem between our venue and churro vendor, and got it sorted out so that we could have churros served at the end of the night (whoohoo!). When we were taking welcome photos at the venue with our guests, Melissa and her team were on it and made sure my husband and I would get a drink or quick bite to eat in between shots, so that we could stay hydrated and energized. For the table visits, she helped with ushering us between guest tables and keeping us on track with timing. And additional bonus points that she speaks Vietnamese so could communicate with my family members who didn't speak English. And at the end of the night, everything was packed up and where it needed to be. She even saved me a couple centerpieces without asking! She is so good and experienced at what she does, and has a passion for it. It's so great to see people do what they love because it just means they will do their best for you. Melissa and her team (Rosie and Collette) were a LIFESAVER on my wedding day. I didn't have to worry about a thing and I couldn't believe how perfect our wedding day turned out. She's detailed-orientated and organized and so friendly and sweet....I love her as a person and friend and really good at what she does so I knew I was able to trust her with how great the day would turn out. We met with her on two occasions to first talk about the services she can offer and met with her again right before our wedding to talk about the schedule and all the details involved. She made an extensive detailed schedule and reached out to all of our vendors to make sure everyone is on track. I think this really helped keep everyone on the same page! At the reception, there was a bit of a hiccup with our photobooth guy and the Mellie Bee team handled it immediately and without any issues. I also had a few desserts being delivered and she let us borrow her plates and stands and set up our dessert table. At the end of the night, the Mellie Bee team also packed all of our stuff up so that we just had to jump into the car and head home. Amazing! What else can't they do?! Looking back at how perfect our day was, we are SO GRATEFUL for having Melissa and her team by our side...it was like having our own personal assistant right there with us every step of the way. They are so good at handling all the details exceptionally as well as keeping us on schedule so that the night will run smoothly. It definitely took out the stress with anticipating how the day would go. Booking with Melissa was SO WORTH IT and I highly recommend this team for coordinating any event. I got married at the Villa this past August and my venue had recommended Mellie Bee Events since they had worked there many times before. I had no plans to hire a day of coordinator until a few weeks before my wedding when I realized I couldn't do it alone and could really use the help. It was the best decision I could have made for the wedding! I'm so glad I hired Mellie Bee Events to oversee the details and flow of my wedding day. My fiance and I met with Melissa and Rosie weeks before the wedding over dinner to run through the timeline. Two hours flew by and by the end of it my fiance and I were so relieved because we knew we were in good hands. Rosie was my coordinator on the day of, but throughout the whole process I had both ladies supporting me. On the big day, Rosie arrived promptly and she had two assistants to help with setup. I can't express enough how grateful I am for Rosie and her team. They took care of handling vendors, setting up decors, making sure we stick to the timeline and assisted with any issues that occurred. We had an incident where we left the boutonnieres at the hotel on our way to the ceremony site. One of Rosie's lovely assistants went back and retrieved it for us. Disaster averted :) We enjoyed our wedding day so much more because all we had to do was show up. That's the way it should be. Thanks, team! read more

We hired Melissa and her team for our May 2022 wedding and it was definitely worth it! We got the day of coordination service and they executed everything flawlessly! We already had our wedding postponed from the previous year due to covid, and Melissa and her team were very understanding of this. Melissa met up with us a few weeks before the wedding to go over our wedding timeline, and this was extremely helpful because she thought of ideas and things we didn't even think of! I was already anxious from having to plan the wedding during covid to begin with, but she made it easy!!! During the reception, Melissa and her team took care of us that night and even had some safety pins handy for a dress issue I had the day of. While we were eating at the bride and groom table, her team even offered to get us drinks from the bar multiple times throughout the night. They constantly were checking in with us to make sure we had what we needed which was awesome. Her team worked really well with our other vendors too which is a major plus. I think her familiarity with the venue also really helped make everything smooth that night. When we walked through our venue that night, everything on the tables and the event space was laid out perfectly just like we envisioned!!! One thing that I really loved was her and her team packing our desserts, cake, wedding items, and money box so we didn't have to worry about it all! 10/10 would recommend MellieBee Events to anyone for any event you're planning to have!!! read more

If you need a day of coordinator for your wedding, look no further! Mellie was our day of coordinator for our wedding and she is amazing! I contacted her through email and she was prompt with emailing me back. We set up a face to face meet to go over things that we wanted for our wedding. She was so organized and had questions for us to answer as well. We were in contact here and there and when it got closer to the wedding date, she was in contact with all our vendors. She even came to our wedding rehearsal just to make sure everything went smoothly the next day. She took care of everything and it made our wedding memorable since we didn't have to worry about anything. She is so detailed oriented and showed us a copy of our timeline and it looked perfect! Her team was very professional and I highly recommend her! The next day, I went back to our venue to grab a few things and she left some sweet treats for my hubby and I. Thank you Mellie! You are amazing!! read more

One word... disaster. I was a part of the groomsman party for my best friends wedding earlier this year and let me tell you, if I was stressed during this wedding I can't imagine how both the bride and groom felt on this special day of their lives. What could go wrong went wrong and if it wasn't for help from other friends and family stepping in it could have been much worse. Melissa came unprepared to coordinate this wedding. Nothing was thought out or planned properly and all of her actions felt reactive rather than proactive. read more

Oh where to start! First and foremost, I was definitely a procrastinating bride but Melissa definitely set me at ease and was so responsive of all my needs during the process. Melissa made time to be there at our dress rehearsal even though she had another rehearsal to go to right after. Our main coordinator for the day of was Samantha and can I just say she was a rock star!! Her energy matched my husband's and I as she gently guided us through our wedding even though I knew we were both all over the place lol. Could not recommend her enough!! Also shout out to Thaolinh, the assistant coordinator, and her cutie cat! We were grateful that Samantha and Thaolinh made sure we participated in photos and enjoy the festivities. Would definitely recommend these ladies for any future events and weddings read more

As a wedding DJ, I've dealt with many planners and coordinators and Melissa and her team is definitely right at the top of my list. I have a planner-type personality so I am very observant of everything that goes on at a wedding and from seeing how Melissa lead her clients through the walk-throughs and her coordination on wedding day, I can see she's really a master of her craft. She's put together a terrific team around her from the assistant coordinators to her curated list of vendors and she really know how to strike that fine balance of letting do their thing while still providing constructive feedback and input when necessary. I love working with her and by the way her clients hug her at the end of each wedding, I know they do too! read more

Melissa was the best, she made it so easy to work with her. She's so sweet, professional and organized. We were assigned to Thaolinh and her team as our wedding day coordinators and they were just amazing! They made our wedding day stress free and so memorable. From getting ready in the morning, to the church, and to the wedding venue, Melissa helped make it super smooth for us. Beginning of our wedding planning, I was thinking do we really need a wedding coordinator. But it was so worth it, we were able to have an amazing day with less stress. The team made sure they did what we wanted for our wedding day, helped set up our dessert table, and by the end of the night, our stuff was packed and ready to go. She was in contact with all our vendors right before the wedding to make sure everything is confirmed and ready to go for our big day. One of the best decisions we made was to hire Melissa. With our wedding being postponed 2x due to COVID, we had not been doing much wedding planning - and then all of the sudden, our wedding was coming up in 3+ months. I went into freak-out mode because there were still so many details that hadn't been figured out yet. Luckily, we found Melissa and our lives were saved. Leading up to the wedding (June 26, 2021), Melissa helped us with a number of things, including designing all the signs (table numbers, seating chart, welcome sign, etc...), coordinating the timeline and all the vendors, and helped us source the late night snack and dessert vendors (both of which were AMAZING!!). Her support with these efforts significantly helped with reducing the burden and stress from me! She thought of every detail and was always on top of everything. Because of her detailed planning, the day of went SO SMOOTH and PERFECT! She helped pick up all the florals in the morning so the bridal party could take photos with them before the church ceremony. From then on, there was literally nothing that went wrong. We were stress-free and didn't have to do anything except enjoy our special day. She kept us on schedule and made sure all the planned items were met! She even tried to make sure I was fed pre-reception, knowing that I would not have a lot of time to eat. At the end of the night, I was admittedly pretty drunk, but Melissa made sure I got my sparkler exit. I was even told by my bridesmaids that I wanted Melissa to walk down the sparkler exit with me and Paul - evidencing my clear love for her, even while intoxicated. Hire Melissa for your event! You won't regret it! :) read more

Melissa and Rosie were such great coordinators! They definitely made sure everything was smooth during the wedding. Before the wedding they helped me create a vision board to help see what I would like and dislike. I really couldn't have done it without them! At the end of the night they helped ensure everything was packed and all the vendors were taken care of! I 100% recommend them!! read more

A wedding is of course one of the most important days of people lives and my cousins trusted Melissa and her team to help with the wedding coordination and event planning. It was very disappointing to hear about the lack of communication that Melissa and her team provided my cousins during their wedding. When there was confusion as to how the flower arc looked and whether it's supposed to be asymmetric, my uncles tried to fix it but I had to be the one to tell them it's meant to be asymmetric and to tell them to stop. Melissa just stood there and only spoke after I stepped in. There was a "misunderstanding" with the flower arc with the team and Melissa stating that they had no idea what happened to it after the reception. The next day, they said that the florist, who is within the family, said they could throw it away even though she didn't talk to them about it. Security footage have shown that they took down the ark and kept it with Melissa's supervision. Then the team and Melissa tried to play it off as some kind of misunderstanding, and then inciting that Melissa had a family emergency occurring, even though she showed no signs of being in a state of despair after the wedding was over as she was talking to multiple guests and having a good time. Even after the party when my cousins pointed at the location and asked where it was, the team stated they didn't know where. It's very disappointing to trust someone the most important day of your life and this is how they treat you with such lack of honesty and accountability. read more
