Incredible!! I was introduced to Tandul by my friend. It is has an unassuming exterior, and when we went, it was not very busy. The service is a little slow but our server was so kind and earnest. The single restroom had trash piled up in it, clutter, and just felt very unclean. I ordered from Uber Eats so I never went to the location but I did ask for utensils and none was provided. Out of the other Indian food I have tried, this was alright. The soup I ordered was really great but the chicken tikka masala was alright and the amount of rice they had provided, let's say it is like someone ate half of it before giving it to me. I'm not sure if it's because we visited on a Wednesday night but it was pretty empty inside. The only people dining were us and another party but that worked for me. I had the Saag Paneer with Garlic Naan and it was AMAZING! It's very seldom that I go somewhere and eat everything on my plate but this was one of those places. My girlfriend had the Paneer Tikka Masala, which was also good but not as good as the Saag. The only thing I'd change is that I wish it was spicier. The staff were sweet and accommodating. Placed a takeout order here recently, to give another area Indian restaurant a try. The inside looks cozy and inviting...will have to save that in-person visit for another time (which there will be!). Order was ready to go when I arrived, and when I got it home, all components were still warm and fresh. My wife and I ordered a variety of appetizers, naan and main dishes all to share. We stuck with a few of our "go to" items and ventured out for a new one as well. Our bounty consisted of vegetable samosas (served with the traditional tamarind chutney and cilantro chutney as well), garlic naan, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and the kaju curry (made with a base of cashews). Everything was delicious, flavorful and not overly spiced making for fantastic bites. The dishes came with generous servings of jasmine rice...between that and the naan it was easy to sop of every glorious bit of the sauces in each presentation! As we were eating, my wife commented how the spice mix she'd been tasting reminded her of the food she was served in her trips to India...a high compliment as to the authenticity of the preparation of these dishes. We were fully satiated by this meal, with plenty of leftovers for two lunches the next day. What a great Indian restaurant. Some of this may be due to coming out and off hour, but the service was great, the atmosphere very relaxed and my food came fairly quickly. To start, their chapati and mint/tamarind chutnies (the Indian "chips and salsa") were some of the best I've had. The rice was just okay, but my chicken saag was very flavorful and came with more than enough sauce to flavor all the rice. The chicken was also very tender and had just the amount of spice I wanted; my only complaint would be be that the dish was perhaps a bit light on the protein. The samosas actually came out slightly after my main dish (all fairly quickly), and they were pretty good as well. The dough was on the denser side--I tend to prefer ones that are lighter and crispier, but I would still order them if I were craving some. Overall, Tandul was a treat and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food. I know I'll be back! read more

We came on a Friday and it was pretty empty when we got there. It started to fill up the longer we were there. Staff was very friendly. We got a bottle of wine and samosas for appetizers. Wine was very reasonably priced and the samosas had good flavor. We got the Allepey Vegetables and Bhindi Masala - both were delectable. Only reason I'm not giving them a higher rating is because the bathrooms did not have any toilet paper and could have been cleaner. The restaurant could also just use a fresh coat of paint. I haven't been inside Tandul in years for dine-in, but I've been ordering delivery from Tandul for a while during the pandemic, and they do a fabulous job with their delivery meals. They tend to run on the slower side as far as delivery through their partner apps, but the end product is worth it if you're not in a rush. My favorite dishes at Tandul are the Vegetable 555 and the Butter Chicken with a side of Naan. The Vegetable 555 is an appetizer that comes served with crispy fried vegetables and paneer in the chef's speciality sauce, which has the most outstanding spicy taste to it. Literally, I order the naan just to dip it in the chef's special sauce, because it's that good. The butter chicken is also outstanding. It tastes exactly as you would hope it would from an upscale Indian restaurant. The tomato sauce is rich and creamy and blends perfectly with the basmati rice provided. Seriously, just order extra naan and be prepared to dip it in absolutely everything! For me, both of these dishes are like comfort food. Thanks Tandul for continuing to be consistent and awesome. The portion size was humongous that almost all of us could have taken it home for a second meal later that day. The service was awfully slow. This place took a long time for us to order and then for us to receive our food. I felt bad that one of my friends didn't get her food until like 10 minutes after the rest of us did. This restaurant has been in our Indian restaurant rotation over the past few years. We typically make it out 3-4 times a year. Upon dining here tonight we noticed something was off but couldn't put our finger on it. We later learned that the place is under new management as of a few months ago and they now have one of the original chefs from our favorite restaurant closer to home, Paradise Biriyani Pointe! That's it! The flavors at Tandul were slightly different and much improved from before. Before, the food was hit or miss depending on which dish you tried. Now, everything coming out of the kitchen was fab. Fun fact. There is a hidden menu item that was on their original menu that is no longer listed but you can still order it upon request. It's called a Bombay omelette and it's like an appetizer. It tastes good with naan. Hubby loved the new and improved Goat biriyani. Sadly, I only got a few pics tonight because the fam went to town.
