I seldom go to buffets, but every so often I do get the urge, and as Asian buffets in the area go, Fuji Buffet in Mentor is one of the better ones. Located in a shopping plaza on Mentor Blvd. you will find a clean, well organized and well stocked buffet. The decor is modern and fairly generic, seating is comfortable and the restaurant is large with several seating areas. As with most buffets you pay as you enter, prices are somewhat reasonable given the way inflation has gone. Once seated you have your choice of the serving stations. Up first is the salad area which is well stocked and includes fresh fruit, boiled shrimp, mussels and artificial crab salad. The salad station also has plenty of dressing and sauces. There is also a soup station with 3 or 4 soups, unfortunately they do not have shrimp chips which I always think is a bonus. There are several buffet stations of hot foods, mainly Chinese with a small selection of American standards. For me I usually get some rice noodles, lo mein or fried rice and then stock up on the shrimp, clams, mussels and the baked artificial crab. Overall the food is fresh and they do a good job of keeping things stocked. Where Fuji comes up a little short for me is that the flavors are a bit muted; the food is under seasoned for me. I usually to use quite a bit of the spicy oil from the salad bar to add some flavor. The sushi station is ok, they make the sushi fresh, but it is only maki rolls and the selection is about 5 or 6 varieties at lunch. Most of the sushi is made with either the crab sticks or shrimp, no fresh fish. Next to the sushi station is the grill station where you pick the raw ingredients and then have the chef cook them. Obviously this food is cooked fresh, although once again I find the sauces to be a bit under seasoned. Once you are ready for dessert there is a pastry section and a scoop your own ice cream. All of this is sweet and pretty good, but nothing really great. Overall Fuji Buffet provides decent food, there is a good variety and you should be able to fill up as much as you want. For me the flavors could be better, not bad just a bit muted. Of course your mileage may vary. read more

I asked my dad, who is 82 yrs old, where he and mom would like to go for lunch this past Monday. He immediately said Fuji Buffet. So that's what we did. I was impressed with how clean it was and the amazing variety of food they had. Ordering was easy, seniors eat for 9.99 M-F. I believe non seniors were $12. I looked online for latest prices and took a pic since there's older prices online. They have something for everyone and not just Chinese/Japanese food including a sushi bar and hibachi. Soups, salad, pizza, wings, desserts and ice cream. So many things, probably the most variety I've ever seen. Staff were friendly and picked up your empty plates as you finished. All seven of us were full and satisfied, especially my dad lol. read more

A very kind man recommended this place to us, so we had to try it during our trip. My first impression of the place was that it's so cheap. $13 a person for the all you can eat lunch special is unheard of in Utah. As we were walking to our seats, the host instructed an employee to clean up a mess and threw a paper towel on the floor. I'm not really sure what that was about but it made me feel like we were in the navy. At least I know they keep it clean. As for the food, everything I tried was very solid! The honey chicken was the highlight for sure, but the mushrooms were amazing as well. I wanted really badly to enjoy the hibachi section, but I found that our meat lacked seasoning. A super easy fix, just allow the customers to season their own servings before throwing it on the grill. Other than that, I really can't complain. Oh and the tubs of ice cream you can scoop for yourself were great. If I was a local, I'd be coming here pretty often. read more

Amazing food, hot and fresh. The service is a little unfriendly at times, but the food is well worth it. The atmosphere is typical for an Asian buffet place, and they have a huge selection to choose from. read more

I had an enjoyable meal there with friends. Waitress was attentive. They had many choices and all were delishious.

2 seniors lunch buffet weekdays 21.38 plus tip (water as drink) we enjoy the vast choices between asian, fusion, american, sushi, hibachi, huge fruit and salad bar...we go for the seafood as we enjoy black bean clams, steamed and cold mussels and shrimp, steamed fish. We find it better to go at opening 11 am versus 1 pm they do restock items frequently and are attentive to beverages and removing dirty plates. They have 4 soups, ice cream and dessert bar. I enjoy their egg tart that is served in phyllo paper and has a little pineapple juice..yakitori chicken and the seafood casserole (artificial crab chunks with a cheese sauce) lots of choices including meatloaf, ham, chicken a little for everyone not 5 star dining but still good and a value for the price. read more

Food was heavily processed, but there was a lot of clean, seafood options. The service was adequate and the ambience was fair.

Sorry, but the food was barely lukewarm, no teriyaki in the place, the hibachi apparently just wasn't open, And it was more expensive than other buffets in the area. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad per se but I'd expect more from any restaurant. read more

We are glad that this buffet survived Covid! One of our favorite things here is the sushi. The sushi is wonderful and it is included in the buffet price. When we have a group of people, this is a great place to go because there is something for everyone. From American food to American Chinese food and ice cream and dessert - so everyone is happy - even the kids! I think that the price for what you get is well worth it, especially in today's economy. read more

The best Chinese buffet ever! They had so much to choose from and the food was delicious.

Greta food and great service. Will definitely be bringing the wife there again on a solo date (minus the kids).

Great choices and delicious food. Plenty of seating room, too. They came around quite regularly to clear plates and see if we needed anything. Restaurant was very clean also. Very positive experience! read more

The sweet and sour soup tasted strange. The chicken and broccoli was not fresh. There were 2 different colored broccoli pieces but both looked like leftovers. That's all I eat when I eat Chinese so I was really disappointed. the food was just warm, not hot. if you like all the unclean buggy eyed creatures with their eyeballs and heads on then this is the place for you. Lots of that. The coffee squares from dessert section were dry and stale. I really enjoyed my salad and the sesame seaweed was good, never had that before. I liked the big TV in the middle of the room. The waitress came over to the table and actually asked for a tip. No joke. read more

If you dig getting a real bang for your buckaroonie, miles of assorted Chinese trauf goodness complete with a hibachi stir fry and a sushi bar, then this is the place for you! Oh, and did I mention the people watching that takes place there? What a riot that was! As for the expansive buffet, some of the highlights were the coconut shrimp, the hibachi stir fry and surprisingly, the lemon meringue pie at the dessert buffet. The banana pudding slop with the vanilla wafers was also notable. So gather up your peeps, your kids and Grandma too and have a party at this buffet! If you walk out of there hungry, it's your own fault! The best $11.99 I've spent in a long time! read more

Possibly the best buffet I've ever been to. They have an unbelievable selection of Asian and American dishes with salad, sushi, hot entrees with seafood, chicken, beef and veggies. Everything was fresh, clean and plentiful. Hats off to the management of this establishment. Service was spot on also with removal of used dishes to soft drink refills. It was $20 for both of us plus my soft drink. A big bargain in my book. I will be back and bring friends. read more

This is a really great place. The price is right and the food is great. Probably the best deal you're gonna get for a restaurant. Unlimited sushi, hibachi, pizza, meatloaf,...etc. I personally don't like the food waste and I think they should put a tax for unfinished plates but besides that, great restaurant! read more

I'm not usually a huge fan of buffets, but this place is definitely a good pick. It is about $20 per person including a drink. Recommend the coconut shrimp, black and pepper shrimp and the skewer chicken read more

Overall decent, American Chinese food was hot and fresh, same for the American cuisine but that portion was extremely lackluster! Don't go here for the American food stick to the fusion. The hibachi portion was pretty mid as well, meat was cooked till it was dry even the shrimp. Server's are good about refilling drinks and getting plates out of the way! Place was clean to the point that our table was wet when we sat down. read more

My daughter and I dined there yesterday to celebrate my grandson's birthday. Everything went well until the end, when the young woman who had been removing our used plates came to clear away our final plates and she decided it would be appropriate to fat-shame us. She leaned in, looked us in the eye, and snorted like a pig, saying "peegs." She must not have noticed that $10 bill I had placed on the little plastic tray for her tip, which would have been well over 20%. Well, I just used it to buy myself lunch in a different restaurant. I will never be back. How Rude! Even nearby diners heard it and just gaped, open-mouthed in shock. read more

This buffet has a very good selection of food and the quality was better than most buffets. We enjoyed it very much.

This was our first time here as a family, 4 of us had an enjoyable experience. Our bill came to $51.and change.... Not the cheapest of buffets if you're on a tight fixed budget.... BUT You do get your money's worth... The selection was amazing... Our 7 year old kept on piling food on her plate and actually ate it all. The main meats was a good selection, Roast, Ham, BBQ Ribs, Fried Chicken, Baked Chicken. The sides was a mix of Chinese and American dishes... Count the old staples of egg rolls, Crab Rangoon, Sushi, Hibachi ect. Desert station had a decent selection, Cakes, Cheese Cakes, Cookies, Pudding, Jello, Ice Cream. And I'm sure I'm missing some lol. Overall experience was 5 Stars... We do plan on coming again. read more

It used to be ok. Now I noticed that the staff was all different. I asked the hostess, what happened to the people that used to work here ? She said, it's a new owner. It has to be the closest thing to eatable crap. I am not a seafood fan so I won't comment on the "seafood" selection. Habachi was horrible, steak? It was like steak-um. Frozen onion rings not even remotely hot. Ribs, not hot. Pot stickers not too bad, mashed potatoes, not too bad. The choices that weren't seafood were frozen pizza, dried up beef, some sort of pork, Mac and cheese. They charge $18.97. For $10 bucks more, I'm at longhorn steakhouse . The best part was I got a full refund. Absolutely the worst gulp food gulp I've ever seen or tasted. Good God, a hot dog would have been better. read more

Our family of 8 came her for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday. The service was very good from start to finish and the hibachi chef was fun and entertaining. I have to say, with the price of food increasing over the last couple years, I thought the prices were very reasonable. The food was very good and you get a good amount of it. We started with soup, then salad, then they start cooking on the flat top and that included rice, noodles, your meat and vegetables. It really was more than enough food. If your looking for a dinner experience, something a little different, I recommend you try this place. read more

I used to eat at Fuji all the time and the food and service is usually good, however, I went there last night for dinner and I had the worse service ever! When I ordered hibachi, it was a different guy who cooked the food. The new guy messed up my order. Not only did he mess it up, the way he plated the food was sloppy. When I told the guy behind the counter (who usually cooks the hibachi), he asked me to bring back the plate, which is UNSANITARY cause I already took it to my table. I informed the manager and he didn't seem to care. After all that, I went to get soup and there was lipstick stains on the cup! Not just one cup but multiple cups! Also, they also didn't have kalbi ribs. I don't understand why it's more expensive on Sunday's if they have the same foods as the other days. I no longer recommend this place. If you're looking for a good Asian buffet, avoid this place at all cost. They're overpriced with terrible food and service. The cheaper buffets have better food and service. They don't deserve a star but my review won't post unless I have at least one! TLDR: this place sucks, don't waste your time and money on terrible food and service. read more

Never going back to this place... i had 3 things on my plate that i had enjoyed out of atleast 10 things i had gotten one thing that was absolutely disgusting was the mac n cheese it was 100 percent EXPIRED, and during my visit here i got told to be quiet AT A PUBLIC RESTAURANT WITH PEOPLE. Why would i wanna pay 16 dollars for disgusting EXPIRED food?? Other than that it was clean and some of the food was enjoyable. Anyways i don't recommend going here. read more

Great variety and good flavors. One comment. We were seated right next to a day care group of young children who were talking loudly and making so much noise we could not talk to the people at our table. A word of recommendation to the owner. Put those kinds of groups away from the other customers. There was plenty of room to put them elsewhere in a corner or back wall or another section. We did not enjoy our meal because of it. I am pretty hesitant to try buffets, they are very hit or miss. But this buffet had glowing recommendations from a couple friends and when two bartender friends suggest a place that does not even serve alcohol (at least I don't think they do) it meant it had to be a real winner. #1. It was so affordable, my friend and I got two buffet meals and 2 drinks for under $30. Always a win in my book!! #2. Their selection is insanely expensive. There a table for just american comfort foods and that had like 10 option, So many great option. I stuck with Chinese options but my friend said the mashed potatoes were a serious treat. They have a super wide variety at the salad bar table, 3 tables of Asian and seafood options. A make your own hibachi station, a sushi station, a soup station with at least 7 options, I have never seen that many soup options, I was so impressed. A dessert table. An ice cream bar with I think like 6 different choices. It seriously just covered all of the bases!! I loved it! I left my comfort zone a bit and tried new things, I liked most of the things I tried, but more important everything was hot and fresh! I love watching people make the sushi, you know how fresh it is! It was just such a great experience, I highly recommend it! read more
