The foos has gotten really bad. I USED TO LIKE THIS PACE. The last few months I have visited twice and the food is now terrible. Even the fried rice and Wonton soup are very poor. I will not go here again. My Entrees were very poor tasting. The worst fried rice I have ever had. The worst wonton soup I have ever had. Not sure when they changed cooks but this last visit was very disappointing. Very little savory flavor. I'm considering throwing the leftovers out. I almost never throw out food. I'll start by saying service over the phone was great and kind. Food smelled delicious and felt piping hot when I picked it up. Unfortunately it does not taste normal at all. I got the pepper steak w/ onions, fried rice, and wonton soup. The pepper steak /w onions has a very off flavor it smells like it supposed to but tastes completely different and off. The fried rice has a stale taste to it. The soup has a weird flavor to it as well unfortunately. Bland ... Bland ... Bland ... Ordered the hot and sour soup, fried dumplings, general tso's chicken. The hot and sour soup and the general tso's chicken were extremely bland. Not a pepper to be seen though both are shown as spicy on the menu. The dumplings were emaciated, not plump at all. Looked and tasted like they had been in the freezer. Worst fried rice I've ever had. It's hard to mess up fried rice, but they did. Utterly flavorless.

The order was exactly the opposite of what I ordered. The omission of onion was requested. Before we ended the call, the lady taking the order kindly repeated exactly what i had ordered. We were on the same page. Instead of fried rice with peas and carrots, no onion. I got a gigantic helping of onions and no peas and carrots. After painstaking removing all the onions, the fried rice was just ok (2-2.5 stars). Accidents happen, but that added with the cleanliness of the storefront makes this a 1 star review. I'm well aware of the you get what you pay for thought process. And I'm aware of certain stereotypes with Chinese restaurants cleanliness levels. I'm not that picky. I observe the 5 second rule, but that is my floor. Had I ever been in this restaurant before ordering over the phone, I would not have ordered from them. The place is disgusting. There are dried food spills all over the floor by the counter. I would hate to see the kitchen. The son, I'm assuming, was wearing crocks half off his feet and rubbing them on the grimy floor, while the sister, I assume, was belting out ticktocks of lady Gaga at full volume. I like the food here and it's usually out super quick but ever since they let the little kid run the counter it's been a little iffy. I'm all for having family help out and work but the kid is more interested in being a kid than working, and I don't blame him, he's a kid. If he's got his iPad going and playing games or watching videos, you may get some subpar service or he may just ignore you. read more

Always see a ton of people coming out of here and everyone I talk to raves about it, but I have tried it twice now and just subpar. The crab rangoon was absolutely covered in grease and the sweet and sour chicken was very tough. The eggrolls were nothing to right home about either. I stopped in for food and the child working the front desk ran my card twice. I asked if it would charge me twice and she said no. I had a feeling so I held on to my receipt. Ordered Crab Rangoon, fried dumplings, and pork lo mein. I wont go back here. The crab rangoon were so sweet they tasted like some kind of dessert. The dumplings were ok but a bit tough....definitely frozen and cooked. The lo main was also super sweet like it had a bunch of sugar added to it. This should be a savory dish, not sweet. Hoping I can find better options in the area otherwise Ill have to make the trip to China Town in Cleveland. read more

Best Chinese, hands down! Take out is always quick and fresh. We usually call in and it's ready for pick up 20mins or less. The only downside that I can forgive is that they're closed on Monday's. Everyone needs Chinese on Monday's! Lol. But I totally understand and that doesn't change my opinion. My favorites: crab Rangoon, bourbon chicken & sesame chicken. If I ever move out of the area.. I will continue to travel here for my Chinese take out. No where else. read more

Was in area shopping and saw this place and wanted some food. Ordered the general Tao's chicken extra spicy. Well it was the perfect hit of spice and flavor. Great fried rice and maybe one of the best cooked and filled egg roll s I have had. The staff was friendly and se vice was fast. The chicken was over cooked causing it to be tough and chewy. Best Chinese restaurant in Chardon, food is always great portions are good size and they accommodate if you preferred different items, two things I highly don't like is, the size of their bottle drinks are too small and I usually only drink sparkling water which they don't carry and I wasn't allowed to bring my own, second is the two owner's children singing, waiting tables and generally doing home work next to you gets kinda awkward, but food is on point now we generally order take out it would be awesome if they could deliver. read more

Don't trust the online menu. Prices are higher. 8.50 for Steamed broccoli is kind of ridiculous. Would have never ordered it. Was barely willing to pay the menu price of 6.15...but 8.50?? The last several times we've ordered, there have been issues. One time, my husband ordered takeout sweet and sour chicken and got no sauce. Just the other day, I ordered Kung Pao tofu and I got what looked like three full bricks of tofu and six broccoli florets, with no other vegetables, no peanuts and a tiny amount of sauce. The tofu was tasty, but I wanted the Kung Pao dish which normally includes assorted vegetables and peanuts. I did not want a dish of tofu with a small side of broccoli. My husband mentioned there seemed to be children working there when he picked our order up, which is what it sounded like on the phone when we ordered, but I don't know for sure. Other times, the food has been greasy. I'm so disappointed, because I was really excited to have found a great Chinese restaurant close to home when we first moved here. And their customer service was always great; in fact, I mentioned that specifically in my original review. I hope this is just a rough period and things go back to the way they were. If this happens one more time, we won't order from them any more, and that would make me sad. read more

My family loves getting take out from China House. The food portions are good and the taste is great. Our favorite dish is the roast pork lo mein. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. I like to get a little side of the red sweet and sour sauce with our meal.......I don't even have to ask anymore because they know us and make sure to include it. read more

It tastes like most other small-town Chinese restaurants. Wonton soup is good. I am not a fan of the hot and sour soup. Crab rangoons are good. Every entree I've had there has been tasty. Great food, super clean, bright restaurant, and the staff is always friendly and inviting. Hubby and I used to go nearly every weekend for lunch, but a job change and health issues made it so we could no longer continue that tradition. The next time we went in (after several months), the owner gave us hugs and told us how much they missed seeing us every week. We explained what happened and said we would try to be sure to get there at least once a month. This is by far the best Chinese Restaurant in Chardon. We love everything we get from there. Best service and they are not all about the money like Yangtzee who charges you for extra sauce and every little thing and are not that friendly either. This place gladly gives without us asking. With large orders they even give repeat customers top notch service and extras. The only restaurant that is better than this is Lei Wah in downtown Cleveland which has the closest to true Chinese having been to China twice to adopt. Highly recommend the sesame chicken, crab rangoo, egg drop soup, fried wontons, chicken /cashew, beef and broccoli, veg lo mein, and fired rices this place has to offer! Fantastic little gem in Chardon! The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. We haven't had a bad dish yet! The cashew chicken, beef lo mein, pork fried rice and egg rolls are the current favorites in our house. The only seafood I have tasted is the crab rangoons, and they were absolutely delicious. I love China House. I like to get small portions and try at least one thing different. Shrimp and Snowpeas is now my current favorite. Chicken LoMein is always a standard when I order. My daughter loves the Sesame Chicken. I tried the potstickers once....they were OK but Ive had better. The owners are very had working, and even recently painted and expanded their dining area.
