    Double Cheeseburger
    Dakota S.

Double Cheeseburger 3.2/5 overall. Patty 4/5. Bun 4/5. Sauce 2/5. Flavor 3/5. Toppings 3/5. Size and value 3/5. Classic american burger stand in a tiny town, just the kind of places I love. Fairly expensive, the double cheeseburger was $14 alone. They do serve some massive burgers though, definitely a 1/2 lb of meat on that bad boy, dripping in almost too much grease and fat, but if that is what you crave, go to Tall Pine and enjoy! I won't judge you, I will join you!

Cool spot. Decent food. The service is lacking. 2 of the 3 people working were teenagers. Friendly, but lacking the common sense to tend to customers. Cool atmosphere. Gives you the "old school" vibe with the raised platform bar area. Not much room to sit but we managed with our group size. Had to sit at different areas. The food was decently priced. The flavor was decent as well. Kids meals from $4-5.50 Spent $82 for 4 adult meals and 4 kids meals. And 2 shakes. Been looking for "the burger" you can always come back to ... still haven't found it with this place but it was enjoyable. The chili cheese fries were made with home made chili. The chili was lacking flavor and very bland, but they did a great job with assembly and the quantity. Tots and fries weren't anything special but were cooked well. The Pattie's in the burgers were obviously frozen store bought Pattie's but the bacon on the burgers was very flavorful. Was NOT impressed with the shakes either. Lacking something... couldn't out my finger on it Traveled 35 minutes to get here. Wouldn't do that again , but if I'm in the area, I may stop to grab a burger.

Our family has ordered from this small establishment a few times, considering it's unique look, the food has not disappointed us and we have a couple picky eaters on our hands. My go to favorite is the BLT sandwich, yum! The other great thing is their ice cream cones are priced fairly and you get to choose between chocolate, vanilla or swirl. Customer service has been questionable but never exceeded to anything negative in my opinion. Their seating options are nice, you can sit indoor or outdoor and is close to the highway so you can easily get back to where you need to be.

Chicken Fried Steak Dip Sandwiche with Country Gravy!!! AWESOME! We had a bowl of fantastic onion rings!

WHHHAAAAHH??? ....CHICKEN FRIED STEAK DIP SANDWICH?!!! YES! ....And it was AWESOME! They even asked if we wanted country gravy (white) or brown gravy. It came as a dip sandwich and and my wife and I LOVED it! Wish more places offered this. And we were in onion ring heaven. These were fantastic! We loved the atmosphere, the conversation with guests and the employees. Very friendly. DON'T MISS THIS PLACE if you're passing through like we are.

    Burger and Jo's

Not great customer service my Jo's were so burnt I couldn't eat them and the girls working weren't around to ask for different ones

Came here May of '21 and got just soft serve ice cream which was so fluffy and delicious, we got a small and it was huge! Came back yesterday to try the food which was pretty tasty! The Hawaiian burger was so good. However they changed their ice cream, it's more of a froyo style and not what you'd ever expect as soft serve. The portions of the soft serve are tiny now. Was hugely disappointed. Whatever they did, they should undo it! Staff was young but friendly enough, wait time wasn't long at all. Would definitely go back for food but never again for soft serve ice cream. Photo is of last years ice cream, don't have one for what we got yesterday as I tried it then threw it away.

The fry sauce was top of the line and the CFS was up there in quality. Momma's fish and chips were cooked without excess oil and I believe they were cod. She did substitute sweet potato fries that seemed to please her, but be aware there is an upcharge. Our friend had a standard fare hamburger with the tasty high quality beef that was hanging over the edges of the bun. The beer selections were limited, but well varied so you will find something you like. My point is that while this is an off the beaten path eatery, it is worth the detour!

There are some wonderful pictures of the old miners that the building has been dedicated to. We came a little after lunch time but there were still several tables with diners. They also have a nice bar and additional outdoor dining. Our waitress, Liz A. was fantastic. She was quick to great us and take our orders. When we were ready to leave, hubby wanted a shirt and she brought out one to make sure the size and color was right. She also gave us a bag for our to-go boxes as the meals were big. And a plastic cup with a lid and straw for fresh ice tea to go. And to the food - we enjoyed every bite. We both had the black and blue wraps. They are big and loaded with plenty of delicious tender meat, veggies, and blue cheese. I had tater tots that were perfectly crispy and Liz brought out a big condiment tray with squeeze bottles for them. He ordered the Blue Cheese Garlic Fries - which were also crispy and packed with yumminess. Very happy we stopped here. They are currently open 7 days a week and you will not be disappointed

We arrived around 1230PM, and the restaurant was relatively dead - which can be a plus for those seeking a food spot at the base of the mountain, rather than the top. Our server welcomed us and led us to a larger table which fit our party perfectly, directly near the windows to witness the snow falling. He allowed us to search the menu before taking our orders. We opted for rounds of water and brews for the adults and sprite/juice for the kiddos. I was impressed by the massive NA beer list, which was lengthy and filled with variety. I chose the Deschutes hazy IPA which was tasted perfect! My sister and cousin opted for seasonal beers and seem happy with their choices. Seeking something warm for the belly, I opted for a burger - loaded with locally made huckleberry jam, bacon and cheese - which was average at best. The burger was overcooked, leaving the meat dry and lacking flavor. The fries on the other hand, were delicious and double fried. YUM! The kids were mildly impressed with their meals, while my sister, cousin and her husband seemed to enjoy their burgers. We had to remind our server about the need for water, sides of ranch and ketchup (since nothing was on the table) and split our checks in the end with no issue. Pricing was slightly elevated - but expected in a resort type atmosphere - but for the quality, I left like EH. I didn't take the remaining half of my burger with me but left with a full belly. If in the area again for an outing, I think I'd try elsewhere before returning.

So, the environment & products are targeted to adults. The interior has mining decor and pinup decor, a bar top, pool table and a few tables with chairs. The beer we had was good for one and above average for the other. The wheat (with lemon wheel garnish) was a surprisingly tasty treat. Flavor highlights to look for when enjoying this beer is malty, sweet and dry. The beer is also very light bodied and smooth so that, at least to us is an enjoyable plus!
