Friendly little dinner spot in sleepy old downtown Kellogg. This is a brewpub so I sampled a few beers. They serve a cream ale which is fantastically refreshing...it has a bit of cinnamon in it, delicious. A Mexican lager was so-so, but served nice and cold was easily drinkable after a long hot day of freeway driving. Happy hour discounts for pints! The menu has lots of choices, I had the Cobb salad with steak substituted for chicken, which made for a fine dinner. Loved the atmosphere and furnishings in this radio themed restaurant. The food was great too. One of our group said it was some of the best fish and chips she's ever had. We all loved the fries which were some of the best ever too. Two of us had salads which were great and granddaughter had grilled cheese which she loved too. Radio Brewing Company, about 30 minutes east of Couer D'alene in Kellog was yet another brewery I got to scratch off my brewery list for the Idaho Chimney area. For this brewery I had their Amber. Well balanced and smooth this amber has sweet, caramel notes to it along with a very fine maltiness. An enjoyable beer all around! Lots of other enticing beer options as well like Oatmeal Stouts, Peanut butter porters and Huckleberry Wheats that definitely garnered my attention and hopefully more exploration of those beers can continue when I travel in the future to the far east side of the chimney and into Montana for more brewery exploration on a future trip within the next few years. read more

We swung in here while in town, we have two young children and our experience was smooth and enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, I enjoyed the different decor and the moody paint. The floors of the bathroom were vinyl records. The facility was clean and service was fast. We got to enjoy lunch in a comfy booth! Our waitress was super sweet and the food was delicious!! Based on other reviews, our experience here could have been a fluke. Arrived here for dinner and a beer after riding bikes around town on a Friday evening. The place has a nice vibe, laid back and mellow. No issue there. Not being super hungry, we ordered 2 Mexican style lagers and three appetizers; pot stickers, pretzel bites with beer cheese, and a sausage sampler plate. The server informed us that they were out of sliced white bread so they could not make a grilled cheese sandwich for the kiddo. I didn't see French fries on the menu but other reviewers show fried food so who knows. I must say that even if I were a server here I would have volunteered to drive the 1 min to the grocery store to buy more sliced white bread. It's a weird thing to say to customers that we are out of. The beer arrived first and what we received were two 2/3 full pint glasses of warm, tasteless, flat beer with 2-3 inches of head and each a dried out lime wedge on the rim. This beer sucked. We would have ordered the IPA but we are not really into IPA that has the ABV of Budweiser (~4-%) and other beers were not available. The lager we did have tasted like it came out of a half full keg that was stored outside in the sun, then tapped and served. I'm not joking; 2-3 inches of head over 2/3 of a pint of warm flat beer. Terrible. Then the food came. The potstickers were steamed, chewy, and generally of poor quality. I make much better at home. The kiddo would not eat. The sausage sampler was ok at best. Sausage tasted ok but it was served warm to cold with dried out apple slices, peanuts, and arugula garnish which was just odd. The apples sucked but I ate them anyway because by this time, I was getting hungry. The beer cheese seemed to be jarred nacho cheese with beer mixed in with it. It was watery, gelatinous, and terrible. It tasted like s#%t. The pretzel bites were freezer burnt, dry ass nuggets of bread disguised as pretzel pieces again served with the aforementioned beer cheese which was disgusting. We paid the bill, said thanks, and rode back down the hill to the hotel likely never to return. I'm not sure how and why some restaurateurs and servers are ok with their business peddling crap. I could never serve that level of quality to a paying customer. My advice here to the owners is either close your business if you don't care about it or if you do care about it do something to improve. I give you 2 stars because the server was attentive and pleasant but had that been as bad as the food and beer, 1 star. Good luck out there... beer and pub fair in a drinking town with a biking problem isn't too hard to get right. read more

I have an Airbnb and I send my customers there as my first choice and they're always satisfied.

On our way to Kalispell and we needed some food, and of course a beer. We have been meaning to stop in at RBC for quite awhile now. Well, we finally made it, which makes brewery #241 for me! And this one is local so I can make it back if I feel it worthy! RBC has a great decor, with lots of comfy seats, several high tops, and a decent amount of bar seating. I went with the Cherry Blossom Japanese lager. This had a clean cherry aroma and a nice flavor as well. SWPFTD didn't love it but she is not a particular fan of cherries. The Mexican lager was smooth. It was just good all the way around. Silver Mountain IPA had a great hop aroma and really good flavor. I might just get a pint of this to follow up. Alhambra Slide IPA had a great aroma and SWPFTD and I both got a bitter lemon taste from it. Not my favorite so far. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter was next up. Now let me preface this by saying I am not always a fan of peanut butter beers. I also think peanut butter whiskey is an abomination, but I digress. This one had a nice peanut butter aroma and chocolate/peanut butter flavors reminiscent of a peanut butter cup. I approve of this one! The coffee stout was last for this stop. This one has a lot of coffee. It smelled and tasted like cold brew. My doctor has me on decaf for my blood pressure and I'm not sure this helps. Regardless, it was a tasty beer. SWFTD ordered up a Scotch ale, which we have had before. Always a good one. We also ordered some beer battered marinated artichoke hearts. Yeah, those are legit. I also ordered a gyro sandwich and fries while SWPFTD ordered the bangers and mash. I was happy to see that the bratwursts and sausages are from Crown & Thistle in CDA. You should stop in at Crown & Thistle in CDA and have a cask ale. The only place I know of around that has cask beers. Anyway, we approved of the food wholeheartedly. The bangers and mash were tasty, the gyro was flavorful, and the fries were salty. (Don't tell my cardiologist about the salty fries!) I've seen a couple of reviews complaining about the service. Kylie was staffing the front when we arrived and she was excellent. She checked on us regularly and was very helpful. We will be back for sure! Great brew pub in an old Kellogg building. Great decor and interesting ... sat ourselves at a table for 2 on 2 'period' stuffed chairs which were really low! Interesting. Wife ordered Chardonnay while I ordered an IPA r server said was citrusy. GREAT Chardonnay but the IPA was only acceptable ... nothing exceptional. Wife ordered the Simple Salad and Pretzel Bites ... She was really happy with her simple dinner. I ordered the Brat which was locally made and really tasty. The bun wasn't a regular hot dog bun and it too was really good. That and onions and mushrooms made a great quick dinner. It was accompanied with a pasta salad which was just ok ... mine is better! It was dry and a bit blah. But this is a local GEM!!!! read more

My wife and I were in Couer D'Alene and they took us on a road trip west. We stopped at Radio for lunch. The theme is really cool with all the old radio memorabilia. I ordered the flagship IPA and the Chile Verde pulled pork sandwich. The beer was amazing and the service was great. She was the only server, but she handled the task with style. The sandwich was full of pig and super juicy and I had something called "Fry sauce" for the first time. It is mayo and ketchup mixed together. Pretty good with their fresh cut French fries. You would never know where this hidden gem was, unless you frequent old downtown Kellogg. Ambiance is rustic, vintage and so fun. Old radios and vinyl records everywhere. The menu is eclectic and brews on tap are so interesting and creative. My partner in crime and I shared the sticky meatballs... it's an appetizer but could easily be a meal. Served with rice, the meatballs are spicy and sticky sweet. Jalapeños are a nice added touch for those that like the extra heat. Easily gulped down a Sexy Idaho Huckleberry Wheat.....Delicious! In the cute little town of Kellogg I'd, this little gem is tucked away. The entire menu looked good and according to the waitress it is. I had the French dip with Swiss and sautéed mushrooms. This is such a great find! We happened upon this brew pub while on a little day trip. It's nestled in a little small town business area. The decor is awesome! Old meets new in a funky, eclectic way. I loved the skateboarding videos streaming and music selections. The bartender was very cool and friendly. We had the pretzel bites with beer cheese and beer battered artichoke hearts with aioli and their Spruce IPA. Very tasty! Everything looked delicious. This review is for service, or lack of, only; we never ordered, as no one seemed interested in taking one from us. We were in Kellogg on business and read good reviews on this place so we thought we'd stop in for dinner. It was moderately busy, not too swamped, but I'm guessing they were short staffed. I blame management for that. We were told we could sit outside but would have to order at the bar. No worries. We settled on something and went in to order while the kids saved the table, although no one else was dinning outside. We stood at the bar for sometime but the bar tender did everything she could to not look at us, and she never did. The gentleman running around who told us to order at the bar didn't slow down to talk with us but let us know they were out of all the beers we were interested in while on the run. He also really didn't look at us. We thought we'd at least order food, but after a long while waiting my wife quite appropriately said, "I don't want to eat here anymore". Quite so, is what I thought. We left our menus on the bar and turned to walk out. A third person whom I hadn't seen before yelled, "Thanks for coming.", as we walked out the door. It really made us never want to come back again. Short staffed or not that is just not the way to treat customers. read more

Decent food and very decent pints. They brew their own beer here and there is a good variety that rotates by season, so you've always got something new to try out and its going to be fresh as well. Interesting place. Not many options on tap, which is surprising for a "brewing company". Food was good, although pricy for what you get. I highly suggest forgoing any salad. It was priced like a meal at $15+ and on a decent sized plate but only an inch deep. I don't understand the reason for skimping on lettuce or dressing. Definitely a side order if you can afford it. Nachos also were not as large as expected either, given the price. Hamburgers were decent. Outside it was a bit dirty (they didn't wipe down the tables so there were bugs stuck to the table cloths) but it was the best place for being with kids. Creative dishes! Awesome Beer selection for the beer connoisseurs. I never thought to combine the flavors of coffee and a full body stout together. Delightful.
