Under staffed and took forever to get food. Then wasn't even worth waiting for. No one around us was eating. The hostess couldn't even smile or pretend to be a pleasant human and sat on her phone the entire time. The bar tender, Dakota, make the most disgusting so called "old fashioned" we had to send back! Who puts grenadine in those?! Watered down, red colored and no flavor. Nasty drink. And we're old fashioned connoisseurs. We had to argue for them to take it off the bill!! What happened to customer service?! The burgers were flavorful but over cooked meat. Only thing worth going for were the beers. Thank goodness those were acceptable. We ended up eating here twice. The first night, both meals were awesome. When we came here the 2nd night, the Ruben was 100% different and a disappointment. Maybe a different cook? Anyway, they have a good selection of beers and walking distance to the campsite. I would still recommend this place. Service was good as long as you sit inside. Went for lunch yesterday with my wife and mom. We were seated and 3 glasses of water put on the table. The waitress never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. We ordered 2 sandwiches and a shrimp basket. 50 minutes later nobody had come back to our table and there was no food on the table so we left. On our way out the door, the other waitress said she could ask the kitchen how much longer. We told her not to bother. It wasn't busy. Maybe two other tables. Never again. We stopped by Wallace, ID on our way back from Yellowstone National Park. This place was recommended by the hotel front desk so we decided to give it a try. We are party of 8 (two families). We went in and there were open tableSSS for four. The restaurant denied service saying they do not have tables for 8. We said we could sit separately coz our little kiddos were starving. They yet came back to us saying no tables for us?! Excuse me?! Are you guys in hospitality industry for real? Extremely awful experience. We spent the day in Wallace to check out the barter fair under the bridge. Always awesome. A local recommended City Limits, and as you can see from the photos the food was fantastic. Huge portions, quick service and the atmosphere is that of an old mine. In fact, the centerpiece of the restaurant is a mock mine shaft/elevator right in the center. They feature some of the local brews from Wallace Brewing, which only adds to the charm. read more

Nice place with easy access to the freeway from either end of a historic town. Next to a RV camp so gets good turnover to support their variety on their menu. I had a French dip, fries and a side of sweet cinnamon syrupy apple sauce more like a dessert. Beef was tender,au jus tasty. My husband had the beer brat with onion rings which was okay. As I continued on my journey to find dinner after repeatedly finding out that the other places I wanted to get food at was either closed or weren't serving food that day, I was told that City Limits might be one of the only remaining options in town. The options are limited but you make with what you have. It's a short walk from the main downtown area but only maybe a 5-10 minute walk. There is also a small RV park next door so everyone comes here during dinner time for a bite. I came here at around 7pm and was told it would be about a 30 minute wait. After a short while I was able to get a table. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich ($10) and the scotch eggs ($8.5). Both were just okay but I was starving so I think everything tasted good. The dipping sauce for the scotch eggs added a little bit of heat which was welcoming, and the fries were crispy. If this your first choice be careful about your expectations. If it's your second or third be careful even more so especially if it's packed. The waitress serving me was smiling throughout and was attentive even while working her tail off to serve a packed house. read more

Food was ok but damn I wish I could've grabbed the name of the bartender. She was horrible!!!! All she did was stand around and talk with a group of three friends that were sitting at the bar. Other staff were running around in circles around her. I think the 90 minutes we were there she put four used cups in the sink and unloaded one tray of dishes while talking and giving out free drinks to her friends. We won't be back. read more

SWPFTD and I are in Wallace for a couple of days and stopped in at City Limits for lunch. This also makes my 258th brewery! CLBP is just on the north side of 90 adjacent to the Wallace RV park. The inside is very comfortable and inviting. It was quite busy at noon on a Saturday afternoon so service was a little slow. No worries though especially since there was a crowd because of the ladies homesteading gathering being in town. Weird but I didn't go with a flight this time. I started with a pint of the Pulaski Porter while SWPFTD went with the Mountain Top amber. Both were quite tasty. I ordered the French dip sandwich which was fantastic. SWPFTD had the Reuben which was also very good. Yes, I ate part of her sandwich. I wrapped up with a pint of the milk stout on nitro and SWPFTD had the blood orange IPA. The IPA didn't work for me but I never love the blood Orange. The milk stout was really good though. CLBP is a great stop in Wallace! We went in to eat dinner (4 people) and were told there were reservations that had been made before us. Then told we could not make reservations for less than 4 people. The hostess was young and had no idea what was going on. Then we got a pager for them to call us in 20-30 minutes for a table. No page at 40 minutes so went to check. At this point there are 4-5 empty tables but we were told that there was now a backlog of orders and we could be sat at a table but would not get our food for over an hour!! The girl hostess needs some training on protocol and how not to roll her eyes when asked simple questions about seating and availability. In the past we have had good luck but unfortunately after this fiasco we will not be coming back. read more

Service was a joke. I had to go up to the bar to ask for ice tea refill then go up again for lime slices for my tacos. The server came over with the iPad check, we hadn't even got our food yet. She said it was shift change. I asked for cream cheese sauce and salsa on the side, two were correct the third had the cream cheese sause globed on it under the fish and cabbage, when I bit into it I got a mouth full, it was awfull I couldn't eat it. The next server didn't come over. I had to call her over. I told her about the tacos, she said my Aunt is the owner, I'll go get her. Never came. Only 4 tables with two people each, was not busy. Waited and waited. I finally just left. l will not go back. Good luck if you go in. If I could leave a zero star I would. one star is the lowest on the review. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Wallace. It is just off the downtown area, yet still an easy walk. We found it searching for vegan options near Kellogg, and I'm so glad we went to Wallace instead. They brew their own beers here, and there was a great selection. I had a summer session, which was light and neither hoppy nor malty. My husband did a raspberry wheat, which was delicious. There are multiple food options for vegans and vegetarians here, as well as omnivores. I did Kate's veggies with tofu, and it was so flavorful I wanted to lick the plate! My husband did a dish of summer squash with chickpeas and rice in a veggie broth. That lacked the flavor of my dish, but he dressed it with hot sauce. My bestie did mac and cheese, and she was able to add a selection of veggies. She chose broccoli, peppers, and red onions. She said it was incredible, and while I didn't taste it, it did look good! Service was a little on the slow side, but it was friendly. They have a huge projector set up for sports, and it seems like a great place to watch a game. read more

I reviewed City Limits 3 years ago and gave it 5 stars. Visited City Limits last night. This time I hesitate to give it even 1 star. I ordered the soup and salad combo. The potato soup was so salty I could barely eat it. The salad greens were limp and not chilled at all! I asked the server to please exchange to iceberg. She didn't say a word just walked away. Came back later and set iceberg salad down with out a word. My brother ordered the patty melt it came out very dark, turned it over and the other side was totally burnt. The only one happy was my sister who ordered the shrimp. I will not be back. Very disappointed. Please get your act together. read more

After a trip to the Hiawatha Trail we decided to stop in Wallace and grab a bite to eat. A yelp search turned up this awesome restaurant! We were greeted by a hostess who let us know it was incredibly busy and that a number of large parties would be showing up immediately following our getting seated at the last available table. Our waitress, Janelle was at our table very quickly with water! We assumed the kitchen would be packed so we immediately decided to order our food. My only complaint is Janelle didn't decide what I should order for me! Janelle was awesome and memorized everything we ordered in her head. My brother-in-law ordered a Philly Steak sandwich which was the best tasting and most amazing dish we received. My wife and I split Ultimate nachos, which we liked but did not love because of the nacho cheese sauce, totally our preference; I know other love that cheese sauce! The tacos were a very generous and delicious serving and meal! We also split a bleu cheese cheeseburger which was very good, I personally thought the amount and potency of the bleu cheese was little over the top but my wife loved it and said it was excellent. The side of fries was plentiful and a hot, crispy golden brown; they were excellent. Our sister in law had the chicken burger which, she barely ate but said was good. She also had a side salad that looked decent. The food came out rather quickly and was hot and fresh. My brother-in-law and Janelle discussed all of their mutual friends! We came at closing time on a Sunday and they welcomed us with open arms. When we left, we tipped the friendly, professional and joy-filled waitress very well in appreciation of her working past closing time. Everything here is home made and delicious. My daughter had the homemade ravioli filled with sausage and sage butter. She said it was amazing and really hit the spot after her 73 mile bike trip from Washington to Idaho. I waited too long to remember what my husband and I ate but the food was delicious. There were other diners eating and we weren't' rushed to leave. The waitress let us know the restaurant was closed on Mondays and she was genuine in her attitude that we stay to enjoy our food! What a wonderful place. This place is great for lunch too, and when we return, it will be the first place we stop for food! read more

Ordered the meatloaf and it was absolutely inedible. Nobody at the table could even swallow a bite. When I sent it back, the waitress didn't take it and offered $3.00 off. I advised I wouldn't pay for it. She took it off my tab but the the new tab she brought was 65$ more than when the meatloaf was on the table. I asked for a correction and asked to speak to the manager. It went down hill from there. The manager, Misty, was rude and unhelpful. Will never be back and recommend you pass from this disaster. We are locals and the last two times we've visited there has been a noticeable change in service. Both times we've observed the staff drinking and the service has been poor. This was my 2nd time eating here while visiting Wallace. We all loved our food, every dish was great! I got the veggie burger and was so happy to find that it actually was flavorful as opposed to the bland ones I get most places. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy and the homemade spicy ranch was delicious. Major props to our server, a young blonde who was the only one waiting tables in the entire restaurant! She was bussing tables, seating, taking orders & delivered all food & drinks- she was fast and very nice. This will always be my go-to restaurant in Wallace!! This was my first time dining here. It was recommended by a close friend of mine. This is a great fun fine dining restaurant in historic downtown Wallace, Idaho connected to an amazing local brewery. I had the cranberry encrusted pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. My food was hot and super juicy and tender. My wife was ecstatic over her chicken marsala fettuccine. We ordered the French dip and Cuban sandwich. Both great. All home cooked. NONE of this restaurant store heat up garbage that we have experienced after Covid. They have surprisingly very good food. I was being a food snob and wasn't expecting anything special. I was wrong, Miners Burger with BBQ on the side is the way to go. They have North Idaho Mountain Brew as the brewery and the beer is so good we came here all 3 nights we stayed at the RV park next to it. Best of all, my fault but I left my credit card there and they had it for me in the morning with zero issues except for me feeling embarrassed for forgetting it. If your near exit 62 in Idaho on I-90 stop by. Tell them Troy sent you....won't change the service or the price but it will make me feel special. read more

The food is very tasty (I ordered the Top Sirloin with sweet potato fries and applesauce), the Atmosphere is very positive and homey, and for those who love a good pint, they have a wide selection (brewed on site). They have a GF menu for those interested. However be prepared for a wait, and parking can be tricky. I'd recommend calling ahead if you have more than a party of four. read more
