We ate lunch here passing through the area. What a cute town! Its history is a silver mining town. When a fire in the early 1900 burned down buildings, they rebuilt them in brick, many of which you see today when you enter the town. We loved the cafe. We sat on a sidewalk table which had umbrellas to help block the sun and tomato plants in planters to provide some privacy from those passing by. I chose the half summer salad which was a perfect amount. The fresh ingredients and light dressing created a wonderful summer lunch. Our server must have forgot to put in our order (it was so busy with only two people waiting all the tables). She was very apologetic and offered to pay for our lunch, or pay for a dessert. I asked for a Diet Coke to go to 'settle the score' and we all were happy. Great stop in a cute town with lots of history.

Wallace keeps surprising with great food options, and the Blackboard was the latest great find. Stopped for lunch and had two delicious sandwiches with my son. The roast turkey with carmelized onions was fantastic - little bits of garlic and gooey cheese, coupled with a toasted bun, paired nicely with a rich lobster bisque. The ahi sandwich was another winner but not quite as expected - rather than a filet, you get minced ahi in a tasty sauce more akin to a chicken salad style sandwich but with rare ahi. It still worked! Friendly attentive service means I'm stopping again. All the sandwich options look good enough to try so I will!

On our cross country road trip west to east had us driving through Idaho. Based on some excellent reviews, we decided to come here for lunch. It didn't disappoint! Extensive menu with appetizers, soup, salad, burgers, sandwiches and some entrees. They have lunch hours and dinner hours. And delicious shakes! The dining room is cozy and nice interior. The cafe is attached to a deli and you can shop at their clothing and accessories boutique. Prices were reasonable. Service was friendly and efficient. Definitely a great find for us and recommend for anyone driving through Wallace!

BLT was very delicious! They packed it full of all the ingredients, with a hearty helping of bacon! The garlic mayo was also super flavorful. Portion size was perfect, I got it with a Caesar salad on the side. 10/10 would recommend! Reuben sandwich was very yummy. Although I was not expecting spicy chilis in the sauerkraut Would've liked to have known that beforehand - wasn't listed on the ingredients on the menu. The fries were perfect and the portion was good. The Cuban sandwich: My husband says "Great taste, lots of meat." We even had a butterfly visit us that was flying around through the kitchen! Bar top seating was nice and the decorations were cool too - they had a chalkboard on the wall with food puns. We would definitely go back here!

Great food. The smug owner didn't add to my experience. I hope he had a better day after telling me to take a Valium. I sure did because I had just gotten married the day before so nothing was going to bring me down. Edit: Thank you for your response. I apologize if I identified the wrong person. We have always enjoyed coming in and will continue to do so.

Stopped by lunch and went away so happy! One if the best parts of a long day of roadtripping is discovering gems like this place. Totally cute place. Loads of eclectic decor - the drawings on the wall are awesome! Dairy Queen, Duck Tape and party animal Warm and friendly service. The food is terrific. I had the pear grilled cheese with whiskey caramelized onions. So tasty - I upgraded to soup. How could i not? Truffle tomato soup- heaven in a cup. Definitely worth the stop and absolutely would return. Yum

Came into town late so we had to run down the street from our hotel to make it to the restaurant by 7:20 to eat, closes at 8. Great service and great food. We had the the Filet Steak, Cheese Tortellini Pesto w/steak and a spicy seafood pasta(I don't see it on the menu online) I asked for medium hot and it was perfect. Good prices too! I even got to try some specialty wines from a wine tasting they had earlier that day. Pretty candlelight window displays. The only criticism was that they extinguished the candles before we were done eating because we were last in the room. We might be eating there again this week since we are traveling again through town.

Absolutely love the space, very chill and spacious. There's an upstairs with lots of seating to read or do work and on the first floor there's tables too. It's connected to a gift shop too. It also has a restaurant attached which doesn't open till 11am. Dog friendly which is nice. I think it would be better for lunch but my family and I came for coffee and breakfast not realizing they didn't serve breakfast foods. We tried the pastries (cinnamon swirl buns and the cinnamon coffee cake) which were okay. Very big though, we could've all split just 1 instead of each getting our own. For coffee, I got an iced dirty chai with almond milk which was okay and my husband and step daughter did iced mochas which they said were okay as well. The staff were very friendly though.

If this isn't on home made bread, I will gladly take yours off of your hands. I came to town just at the right moment because this place just opened up for the first time this week. I love to try something new and if I enjoy it I go back hoping to get the entire menu in my stomach. Luckily my wife ordered what seems like everything but the scampi so I know what I'm getting next. I was really skeptical about the prices because coming from a larger town we pay more for that kind of menu. I have to tell you right now that we definitely ordered too much. Servings are a lot bigger than you would expect for that price and mostly meals come with garlic bread and we ordered more garlic bread and had to share it with everybody we found.an order of garlic bread looks like they robbed a bread truck to get enough to put in your box. I was a bit weirded out when I read the ingredients of the pesto primavera. I didn't expect primavera to have peas or artichokes in it but very pleasantly surprised at the mixture of flavors.I would definitely order it again after I get the scampi. The rest of the meals were manageable and I am starting to think that I should have ordered the kids meals instead of the adult meals for the kids. Luckily they won't open up again until Friday which will give me plenty of time to eat all these leftovers as I am sitting in a hotel. Marinara is homemade and tasty everything else is homemade and tasty I don't have a lot of bad things to say other than I should have ordered the kids meals. Currently they are set up for takeout only and it seems like that will work for them especially since somebody arrived in this small town as I was leaving. from all of my experience and going to new restaurants I have seen them start off with trips and slips and then eventually get better; these people have it spot on like they have been open for a long time. if you are traveling along i-90 and you want a good place to eat save your tummy turn at the Pinehurst exit be sure and not speed because they'll catch you at 27 miles an hour and stop at Butter and Herb. They are only open for dinner and it will be one of the best Italian style dinners that you have had in a long time for that kind of money.

I was craving pizza. This was the best choice in town. Our waitress, Devyn, was a joy, very attentive, and was handling several tables with real pleasantry. We ordered two galls of a Barbera and Montepulciano. Both glass were pleasing and filled full. The only downside is the glasses are small so you can't swirl for the aroma or aerate the wine. The garlic bread has a nice crust and soft center. They will also you bring you a tray if olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip it in. It's a nice umami of savory, sweet, and salty. The side Caesar Salad comes with a very tasty and traditional dressing where you can taste the anchovies and dijon mustard. The Jersey Tomato Salad is loaded with tomatoes, artichoke hearts and Kalamata olives on a bed of crispy greens. The pizza was a big hit. A perfectly thin and crispy crust, light on the cheese, chunky tomatoes instead of a traditional marinara sauce, fresh rosemary and mushrooms, and sausage with fennel. So happy we dined here. Looking forward to another meal here soon.

Two employees were assembling to-go pizza boxes and stacking them on the dirty floor that had a very visible line of traffic wear from the days patrons. Then as they were asked to attend to something else, they moved the multiple piles of boxes aside with their feet. They could have easily stacked these boxes on the surrounding booth/chairs they were using. The boxes are then moved to the back traffic walkway to the bathroom. Also stacked there on the floor instead of a small table or something! The bathroom was fairly clean at best. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looked like. I will try another diner in town before ever going back there again. Zero Stars!!
