Best buffet, as well; I tend to be a somewhat picky eater and they always have a great selection of food out that I will eat (which is a rarity). I only had take out here last week but it was amazing. I am a huge fan of Indian food and I am alway looking for good places to try. I've driven by this many times but finally made it a point to try it out when I was getting a craving for Indian food. I ordered the chicken tandoori and my bf ordered the lamb tikka masala. I'm not a huge fan of lamb, but I tried it and it was delicious! It was very well cooked and full of flavor. The chicken tandoori was very flavorful as well. It was not too dry and cooked to provide just the right amount of crisp around the edges. Being a big rice fan, I was pleased to see that they gave us plenty of rice. It's always a bummer when you order take out and get home to discover that your generously portioned dish comes with only a handful of rice. It took a little bit longer than they estimated, but all in all a good experience. It was nice to see that the dining room is nice and big. Came here a few times now, both for dinner and for their lunch buffet. Best Indian food in Bflo, if you ask me. Lunch buffet is every day from 11:30 to 2:30 for $8.99 with a good variety of both veggie and meat options, plus naan or garlic naan and chai tea. I've been to a couple of other Indian buffets in Buffalo, and I do have to say, the taste and quality of the food at Taj Grill is, by far, the best. At other locations, food has been bland and sometimes lukewarm, naan stale and lukewarm, chai tea lukewarm (lukewarm food is kinda a HUGE pet peeve of mine...) but Taj doesn't have any of these issues. Food is always, always, always flavorful and delicious and HOT, and they have the best naan that I've ever had. It's always fresh, soft, fluffy, oh, so perfectly buttery... As far as their regular menu goes, I've only tried a couple of their dishes: baingan bharta (eggplant, my favorite Indian dish of all time), and paneer makhani, but they have a great selection of different meats as well as a wonderful veggie menu. The eggplant is awesome. My only complaint is that it's never as spicy as I want it to be, but that's sort of the story of my life. And as for the paneer, super flavorful and the paneer had a really great texture, not too firm or stale-tasting, which I've experienced at other Indian restaurants. Every time I've been there for dinner, they've also given us a small bowl of...something. Usually a yogurt-based dish. Which is very nice of them, and just a lovely little treat! Great, fast, reasonably priced Indian food in Buffalo. We have gone twice and been happy both times. On a whim we were there on a Tuesday for the buffet. $13 for all you can eat including sweetened chai. Service has been attentive both times we have been there. The desserts were just ok, but honestly I don't often like Indian desserts. I just had some fresh fruit and got cranked on more sweetened chai. FYI, pay at the door. This is probably my favorite Indian place in Buffalo. The buffet is always quite good and their food is quite flavorful. They also have a broader selection of naan than some of the other places in the area. All these things combined make the meal here make a great experience. I also think the space, itself, is quite nice. It seats a lot of people, but there are divisions so you feel like you've been in a smaller place. The service is always quite nice, very attentive, and the staff seems like they are relaxed even when busy. I don't really have much experience with indian food but this place was pretty accessible. In my previous experience, indian places were incredibly overpriced with mysterious menu items that have very little description as to what you are ordering. This place was different. The dishes were all priced very fairly. I ordered 4 entree type dishes, a tea, 2 naan breads and 2 appetizers and the bill was under $90. Service was great and not too pushy but was readily available when you needed anything. Food quality was very good in my limited indian food experience. We had the beef and lamb samosas, which tasted very similar and very filling. We should have only ordered one kind. The entrees were all served with yummy basamati rice and you can choose how spicy you want each one. I thought the flavoring was a little salty for my tastes. The place was in good condition with very minimal decorations. I enjoy this more low key style as I find the fancier places too high brow and snobby. It was very relaxed. read more

In my opinion Taj Grill is the new king of Indian restaurants in Buffalo, which is no easy task given the number excellent Indian places to choose from. First the food is excellent. I'm typically disappointed with most Indian places' Tandoori chicken as it's usually too dry. That's never been the case at Taj grill, their Tandoori chicken is excellent and moist (as it should be). Goat curry is another favorite of mine that's not always easy to find on a menu (I'm looking at you Taste of India), Taj grill's is a regular offering on their dinner buffet lineup and is delicious. Seriously, try it once and you'll never look at the goats in a petting zoo the same way again. Honestly, I could go on and on but all you really need to do is come in for their dinner buffet, you can put on a blindfold and randomly slap anything on your plate, it will all be glorious. The atmosphere is simple and clean. It's not a fancy place, but you really feel like you're in a nice and well maintained establishment. Casual dress is fine. The staff is very friendly and will explain what's in any dish if you have questions. I've also noticed that they are extremely attentive to re-fills. All in all a great place and must stop destination if you love Indian food and are in Buffalo. Also if you like spicy, do yourself a favor and order some chili naan with dinner. read more

The food and Service was excellent. In USA its been 6 years to me and I have been roaming around in many States in Central Part of USA. This is among the few best Indian restaurants which I have been to and enjoyed food. I went there for Dinner around 9.30, restaurant was busy and it took at least 15 min. for us to get the table from one of the staff. Then it took at least 10 mins. for them to come and ask us to get order from us, till then, I have been thinking that if the food would not be so good then, this would be my biggest mistake in choosing restaurant in this area. We got our ordered server after more 20 min. But when I tasted the food, it was awesome. I ordered, Lamb Kadhai, Paneer Methi Malai, Vegitable Biriyani and Lamb Curry with 3 Naan, everything was really good, top of that the service from "Walter" was awesome. Went there on a Tuesday. The place was busy with many people waiting. We typically look for 3 things in a restaurant: food (quality, taste, price), environment (cleanliness, comfort), and people (at the front desk, servers, etc.) Food: Food was mostly good. We didn't know it would be a buffet but realized it once we reached. We decided to try it out and weren't overly impressed. The Baigan paneer was good but rest was very average. Environment: I don't know if it was the # of people or if the AC wasn't working but the place was hot and uncomfortable. Try eating hot and spicy Indian food in such conditions and you know it's not going to be very comfortable. People: This was the worst area. We couldn't get anyone to take few secs to even look straight at us and talk. Our server filled two glass with water and didn't bother to fill the other 3. We had to remind various people 3 times before we could get water. Same was the story with naan. Typically, Indian restaurants would give you 2-4 big pieces of naan per table. This places gives you 2-3 small pieces. I mean small like a 1/8th slice from a medium pizza. We finished the first basket within first few mins. It took us 20 more mins to get the 2nd basket. Imagine sitting there with food on your plates but no naan. This killed our appetite. It's very disrespectful when the staff doesn't even take 5 sec to stop by your table when you call them. They basically just kept waking as if we were an annoyance to them when asking for naan or water. It doesn't take much to stop, hear what a customer as to say, acknowledge/respond and go about your next task. We will not be returning. read more

Went for the lunch buffet. First and foremost, it was clean! No drippings, no intermingling of food options, it was sparkling! They had a good number of veggie options on the buffet, two chicken (one which they were out of but I still managed to leave feeling horribly full), one beef and a garden salad station on the side. First off when we got here 3 waiters were chatting it up and no one wanted to take our order. After 15 minutes our order was taken. I believe the waiter's name was Pavan but I forget my own name before coffee in the morning so forgive me if I am wrong. Pavan was very welcoming and knowledgeable of the menu. I usually didn't stray far from the vindaloo route as it wasn't much of a departure from American cuisine. Pavan however, called me out on my very conservative approach to Indian cuisine and told me to try something new. Enter, Chicken Muglai. Great googly muuuglaaiiiii it was outstanding. So not only is the restaurant a terrific value, the service terrific but they also urge you to spread your wings and try all that they have to offer. There is a certain confidence in that approach that is always a sign of a well run restaurant. Aesthetics could be modernized in my opinion, but the very clean and regal approach to the interior is just fine. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Ordered from here multiple times as the food is good, but I never thought I could experience terrible customer service time after time. On two occasions I waited 15 minutes for my food that was siting on the checkin table. I even asked if that was my food and the workers insisted that it wasn't. The food is good, but putting up with the laziness of the workers in not worth it after experiencing it multiple time. If you do go, make sure to keep on top of the employees or they will just ignore you and you will have cold food. I went here for the lunch buffet on a Friday around 1:30 P.M.. The chicken curry was probably the most flavorful I've had at any Indian Buffet. To get it this spicy, I usually need to special order it, so it was a pleasant surprise to find it like that on their buffet. The tandoori chicken was also perfectly seasoned and tender. Unfortunately, there was barely any chicken curry left on the buffet when I got there, and it was starting to look hard/dark. They failed to add more at all during my lunch. They did refill the rice though, which was empty for the first ten minutes that I was there. When it came time to pay, they said they do not offer customer receipts unless you pay with credit. This was an issue since I was expensing my meal for work, I needed a receipt so I paid with a card. However, the credit card receipts are not itemized. Also an issue for work expenses. read more
