We have been here a number of times. We haven't had a bad meal yet. Today we had our favorites. The fried chicken. The best in the city.So crispy, moist and tasty. My fiend and I ordered here for lunch through Doordash. Pre-order was available so we chose the first time available, 12:10. The delivery guy came at 12:09 and I was excited hoping this was the start of a really good experience. It definitely was. We ordered the Chicken Biryani which came with a lot of food. It had a good flavor with just enough spice. Same with the Chicken Tikka Masala. I appreciated the fact that there was enough sauce to cover all of the rice they provided. They also portioned out a good amount of chicken for the serving size. We also got the Garlic & Cheese Naan which was very soft and not overpowering with the garlic. Last we got a veggie samosa. We only ordered 1 but it was big enough to split. Especially since we already had more than enough food. The prices were decent and the food was really good. While trying to figure out what to order it was weird seeing so many different types of food. There was Indian, American, and even Chinese options. Definitely didn't expect that. If this rating was based on pure taste and taste alone, I would have definitely given this place a 5 star. However it's ambience is not really ideal for dining-in. We have had large parties where we ordered food from this place. Simply because our crowd loves Bengali food. So if you are looking for authentic bangladeshi taste and you don't care about ambience then this is definitely a place to go. I don't blame the owners of the restaurant for not investing in the looks of it. They have had people calling over, ordering food and then not showing up. I ordered delivery, so my opinion will be from the that, the dine-in experience could very well be 5 star material. First I will say they give you PLENTY of food! I love this. I got the combo platter over rice and it was good, the only thing lacking was the white sauce :(. The tikka masala was good, but I received more sauce than I did chicken and it was a bit tough. Overall, not perfect, nothing is, but I would recommend this restaurant for a quick bite that is reasonably priced. I will definitely try this place again. read more

My husband and I were driving down Broadway.on our way to the Broadway Market when we saw the sign for the Bayleaf. Not sure what type of food but our interest was piqued. We did a u turn and parked in the lot and walked in. The outside is nothing to write home about but man o man am I glad we stopped. We had the curry special. They have many types of curry We had the lamb curry. Comes with Nan and a good portion of delicious rice. We also split the 2 piece fried chicken. The lamb was bone in. It was hot , well spiced The gravy was too die for. So smooth and well spiced also. The rice was buttery goodness itself. The Nan was plentiful. The fried chicken was a leg and thigh.The coating was crispy and light. The chicken was fresh out of the fryer. It was not greasy. We will be back. We saw the gyro which was enormous with fries on the top with a white sauce. I asked the gentleman that ordered it if it was as good as it looked. He said better. It his go to when he comes. Bay Leaf restaurant food taste was not that bad. But today I bought few lambs over rice. Meat portion was very little compared to other times I bought from them. Their food is very oily as well. Every other time before meat portion was not that bad. I went there too many times. I decided not to go there never again. I never notice anybody using gloves during handling foods. Their food might have big hygienic issues always since they don't maintain those things. Their customer service was never that good. Today I got the worst behaviors from them. Most of them don't know what customer service is. I didn't see their inside cooking and prepping environment inside. I will never consider spending my money there. read more

One day I was parked outside and the main cashier was outside smoking a bogey And went in and took my order i ordered 2-4?samosas and white sauce over rice and all he did was put hand sanitizer and in the food industry if u sanitize without washing u leave pathogens. As a Bangladeshi living in Buffalo, I can attest that Bay Leaf is one of the only places to stick to our roots and not morph the taste of their dishes to satisfy any other target group. Would you be happy if you walked into an Ethiopian food place but instead tasted Kenyan spices in all their dishes? Perfected dishes with an amazing mix of spices. Their ingredients are not day's old. How do I know? Only a handful of food places in Buffalo won't kill my stomach after eating desi food for the next day. Taj grill and Bay Leaf are the only places I've never had any issues with. Tried the kacchi biryani, morog polao, Rupchanda fish, daal, chicken lollipops, burgers, samosas, pretty much everything from their menu. Want your food a little spicy? Tell the owner while you order what sort of mix of spices you'd like. It's not a sit down restaurant, but more so a take out place. Ordered take out after hearing some good things about this place. I ordered chicken tikka masala as part of the Bay leaf special, which comes with naan and rice. I also ordered veg samosas and tandoori chicken. Everything was tasty. The tandoori chicken was well seasoned and served with sauteed onions and peppers. It did however lack an acidic element. The samosas were crispy and filled with potatoes, peas, corn etc. A bit untraditional but very good nonetheless. The chicken tikka masala was also quite good, just found it to be a tad too sweet. I appreciated the charred pieces of chicken in the sauce which provided a mild smoky taste. The packaging was neat and sturdy. They gave plenty of napkins and utensils. The goat haleem had a strong garam masala flavor but was pretty good when you add lemon. The daal was good - basic daal that tasted authentic. We were visiting Sarasota from NJ. When we saw the Bay Leaf sign we were excited to find an Indian restaurant -- our favorite cuisine. We were greeted warmly even though it was nearly closing time and were assured that we could be accommodated. The service was friendly and unrushed. As a vegetarian, the menu selection was abundant, although there was also an adequate choice of meat dishes. The heat levels were perfect. My husband specified very hot and I requested mild. That's exactly what we got. The order arrived at our table freshly prepared. The servings were large. The food was delicious. I was struck by how immaculate the restaurant was. Not my top 5 choice for Indian/Punjab/Bangladesh food. The food was ok. I had the beef boti kabobs which was good in flavor but the meat was tough and hard to chew. Looks like the cuisine description on the app is not quite right. They have some Bangladeshi/middle eastern food. Anyway, chicken boti kebabs were really good--very succulent. Also the veggies in the kebab were flavorful and well cooked. Goat curry was good too. I think I got the taste of achaar/pickle in it which enhanced the flavor probably. Garlic nun was perfect! The beef biriyani was delicious as well. This place may be my first choice for biriyani in Buffalo. I'd probably not sit and eat here, but it's definitely a good place for takeout/home delivery. We order from them all the time and are never left disappointed. Their butter chicken is amazing, especially when paired with the garlic naan. We have also had their vegetable samosas (as they never are stocked with the meat ones that are listed on their menu), and they are pretty good too!
