I really miss Buster, rip
Fox E.

So if you spent last night getting screwed And you really aren't into the dude I have the antidote For that gunk in your throat Let's go have lunch at Bailey Seafood! If you're Palestinian or Israeli You'll end up coming here near-daily And they say this fried fish Can fulfil any wish And my wish is for seafood at Bailey! One of the best 5 items to eat in Buffalo, hands down. After all these years, this is still the greatest fish sandwich in the world. I had some amazing fish in the time since I first tried Bailey Seafood, and I've been all around the world and Bailey Seafood is still the gold standard for how f*cking good a fish sandwich can be. Easily the greatest I've ever had. And now that Barbi has enticed me to try their sauteed shrimp as well, I can say that they have the best shrimp I've ever had as well. What to get: Super Sandwich with Haddock, Sauteed Garlic Shrimp What else: This is the best fish sandwich you'll ever get, anywhere - by a mile. The long list of why Buffalo is *so* *amazing* for food continues with this, the most amazing fish sandwich I've ever had. Other places can, occasionally make a good seafood sarnie on a good roll, but nobody I've ever encountered has put such a plump, juicy, scaldingly hot piece of fresh fried haddock deliciousness on such a perfect Costanzo roll with such heavenly seasoned fries (on the sandwich), such delightful coleslaw and such wonderful tartar, as Bailey Seafood. It's one of a kind, and it's something that I introduce everyone from other cities and countries to, when they come to town. Without fail, they fall in love with it. It's that good. I skip the cheese. OK so this rap is QUITE CRUDE And reveals I had sex with a DUDE And that I like my tea freshly BREWED And my fish just from BAILEY SEAFOOD To go anywhere else is just RUDE Barbie loves it, and her pix here are LEWD They're suggestive, but they're not quite NUDE And she's turned on by BAILEY SEAFOOD When I don't eat here, I will BROOD And if they close down, we're all SCREWED It'll add to love handles ACCRUED But it's worth it for BAILEY SEAFOOD! WHAT I still have my mother in England and my bestie in Texas asking me, when are they going to get another Bailey Seafood Super Sandwich. Not to mention, it's cheap (under 7), it's filling, and you can order in advance (give it 20 mins) and have it fresh and ready for you. Their Sauteed Garlic Shrimp is one of the best versions of shrimp imaginable. It's a lot more expensive, but it's worth every penny and the portion is shockingly enormous. This much shrimp in a good seafood place would cost you a hundred, and it's only 20 here, and way better. The wait is long, but so am I. And this is absolutely not a sit-down restaurant. There are no tables, although there is a long bench that you could probably sit and eat your sandwich on, which we did, for the kinky photos attached. It's in a part of town hipsters don't go to. Some of Yelp Buffalo's most left-wing, socially responsible morons I mean friends of mine, have told me that coming to this neighbourhood is suicide. It was ugly crap, I tell you. I've only been here 30 times, used to live around here. I have no time for racists that feel better about their racism by voting for Biden. I vote Biden and I am just as likely to visit a poor area as a rich area... get over yourselves. You just can't live in Buffalo and not eat this sandwich. It's one of the best 10 sandwiches in the United States. So let's finish up with some more Bailey Idol. Bailey Idol gets it. I don't know why she doesn't. In this song, Bailey Idol complains that fries just no longer do it for him unless they are on a sandwich with fish, from Bailey Seafood. Original: youtube.com/watch?v=9OFp... I'm all out of sole* One more haddock dream could bring a fall When I'm far from Buffalo I call Bailey on the phone To pretend to order one It's easy to devour It's easy to eat And looks good next to Barbi's feet Les frites sans merlan (Fries Without A Fish) Les frites sans daurade (Fries Without A Fish) Les frites sans poisson (Fries Without A Fish) It's not really delish, your fries without a fish. I spend so much time Outside Western NY Makes me want to cry Not eating here makes me sad It makes me mad at dudes Who live by Bailey Seafood Les frites sans calmar (Fries Without A Fish) Les frites sans limande-sole (Fries Without A Fish) Les frites sans l'espadon (Fries Without A Fish) This was not my wish, fries without a fish *not to be confused with Barbi's soles, world famous, hi Vic Now I close my eyes And I wonder why I even ate these fries Now all I can do Is love where I was once: At Bailey Seafood But from here it's 1,000 miles And I'm in Texas eating Fries Les frites sans la crabe (Fries Without A Fish) Les frites sans la coquille Saint-Jacques (Fries Without A Fish) Les frites sans le bar (Fries Without A Fish) It's an inferior dish, your fries without a fish

*Mini Homestyle Dinner (Shrimp option)
Daviyion J.

Ordering was a breeze and when I arrived my to-go order was ready for pickup. I had the mini homestyle dinner ($11.99) which I choose with shrimp. It also comes with collared greens and Mac and cheese as the two sides. Starting with yummiest to yum, it was the collared greens (perfectly seasoned), Mac n cheese (gooey, but I added a bit more pepper), and the shrimp (fried shrimp with hush puppies in the mix. Nothing special, but good). The other thing I would have liked more of was cocktail sauce. Definitely wasn't enough for all the shrimp you get, which I suppose is a good problem to have since it was a more than generous portion.

Shrimp and grits

First time back in year's and it was excellent! Got the shrimp and grits and the portion was huge and the taste was absolutely incredible. Great seeing old friends again on bailey Ave and the customer service was top notch.Highley recommended

Chicken Fingers
Charlynn R.

We ordered takeout through a delivery app from Bailey Seafood and everything was wonderful. Of course we can only review the food due to using a 3rd party app but we have no complaints! The chicken fingers were amazing!!! Plenty of options on the menu for people who don't care for seafood despite the name.

Hah, it looks like the receipt says Christ ordered this. Branching out from bread and fish I see...

It's been about a decade since I ate a real crab. I've gone ham on grocery store knockoffs. Not ham in the pig sense of the word, as the imitation stuff is some sort of whitefish, but in the way too many quickly thrown together sandwiches when the sales start running. I love seafood, moreso than my budget allows, and tend to resist the urge to go ham, er, fish (wait, that's another thing entirely) on gorging myself on the real goods. Back before I recognized a world beyond chain restaurants, I was sat between my parents on a trip back from the eating disorder clinic at a chain that may rhyme with Led Robster. I had gotten a side of legs, and was given a cracker to unlock my meal. I was quick with my work, because back then there was one rule. Eat it fast before your stomach can catch up. Boy, am I glad that rule isn't still in place today. Ubereats gifted me 20 dollars on the stipulation that I spend 25, pre-fees. My mate had no appetite, so I had the full 25 to myself, which, being the bargain diva that I am, was a daunting number. Eyes landing on the word 'seafood,' I clicked, eyes widening at some of the prices until I realized how much you could get. I scrolled until I read that I could get a ten count of crab claws for 18 bucks. I still had 7 to go, so I landed on a half pound of large shrimp. It put me a bit over the minimum, but I was having a very rough week, and for what amounted to 18 dollars post coupon, fees and tip, I watched the little Uber car zoom across the map to me, hungry and zealous. My mate fetched the bag from Samuel and brought it upstairs. It had a smiley face telling me to have a nice day. That's polite y'all, but considering you've brought fresh seafood to my doorstop, highly redundant. The top box was styrofoam. I set it aside to lift out a brown bag, which held a plastic container of my claws. I studied the food for a moment to figure out the calories (because unfortunately, that is still a part of my reality) and sent off a bragging text to my bestie before diving in. Or rather, attempting to, because I could not figure out how to crack the claws open. At first I tried my hands, then teeth. My mate eventually mentioned the kitchen shears, thankfully. I may have sent a few accidental shards of shell his way, but I was trying to get every last bit of meat out of the shells. I didn't use the provided melted butter, but still it was mildly sweet, and soft. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed real crab, taking all of my pent up aggression out on cracking the claws open. Not so pro-tip: Lay down a tarp, order takeout, and demolish ten crab claws for an hour like I did. For a girl whose motto was to eat before you taste, it was quite the moment. Definitely rewriting that decade old memory of real crab with something worth remembering. As for the shrimp, I had been expecting naked little buggers. Instead I had opened the container to find eight deep fried behemoths waiting for me. It came with a container of cocktail sauce, and I interspersed my claws with bites of shrimp. They had cooled in their travels, which was probably for the best to avoid burning off my much needed taste buds. They weren't super greasy, and tasted amazing. It was a great contrast, having fried and fresh together. Not so pro-tip, the sequel: Crab claws are great to poke your mate with, especially when you gather a bunch to make a little clawed hand to distract him while he does his best to ignore the mess you're making of yourself enjoying your food. While I can't come here often, because I'm still living on that imitation crab budget, I'm keeping this one on my revisit list.

Super fish sandwich. Had to use a fork and knife to eat it!

Covid has brought me another restaurant I would not have tried otherwise courtesy of Uber Eats. Since it's Friday in Buffalo I was looking for a good fish fry place, as soon as I saw the diverse menu I knew I was in trouble! I ordered the Super fish sandwich, with breaded haddock as my fish choice and all the way ( tartar sauce, fries and Cole slaw. This sandwich did not disappoint, even though I ordered for delivery the sandwich arrived still warm, and the fish and fries still had a good crisp. The fish wasn't greasy either. The sandwich was a lot bigger than I has anticipated and was worth the value for the price. I next had the Clam Chowder. Loved it. Highly recommended. The base was very creamy and didn't have the grease you sometimes find with some clam chowder. The class were very tender and not chewy. Very similar to an authentic Boston clam chowder. Last I had the cornbread, a little dry for my liking but my husband enjoyed it Looking forward to exploring the menu more in the future

Ordered food to go from here and it was delicious!! The price is very reasonable as well. If you like seafood as much as me then you should definitely check them out!

*Homestyle Fried Dinner *Homemade Fried Broccoli Not pictured: Fried Red Snapper, Homemade Sweet Potato Pie
Deedee C.

Ordered the fried dinner which came with fish (I opted for the catfish nuggets), choice of sides (I got fries and mac & cheese), macaroni salad, hush puppies, greens, and cornbread. I also ordered a side of fried broccoli and a piece of red snapper. Also, a slice of sweet potato pie. It was more than enough food for two people, so kudos on the portions. I just wish I could sing as many praises for the actual quality. It was a mixed bag. It could be because I ordered delivery so it had a 15-20 minute journey, but everything on the bottom was soggy. The catfish tasted like mud - like I'd just taken a big gulp of water from the Niagara River - and the greens were *super* sweet. The mac & cheese was excellent but the macaroni salad was inedible; it tasted like straight vinegar. The fries, once I crisped them up in the oven, were good; they're coated so they have a nice crispy texture on the outside. The corn bread was fresh and tasty. The fried broccoli wasn't bad. I would definitely order that again. The red snapper looked good but I didn't have any; my husband ate it all. He said it was okay. I will order from here again when the mood strikes but I think I'll opt for pickup instead. Not sure if they'd be amenable to packing the fries and hush puppies separately, but at least if I pick up I can separate the stuff myself before it takes the long ride home. And I'll probably get haddock instead of catfish and avoid the macaroni salad altogether.

Selection of different fish to enjoy fried

Being that we are all probably doing more takeout that dining in restaurants, I'd like to bring your attention to the options at Bailey Seafood. There are some pricey dishes here but there are also more affordable options such as fried fish by the piece with your choice of several types of fish: catfish, haddock, ocean perch, wild whiting, tilapia, yellow pike, butterfish, porgie, and salmon. Not only do you have the choice of fish but these fish fries are available any day of the week except Sundays when Bailey Seafood is closed. The only catch, no beer battered or broiled options. These only come breaded. The last time I ordered from here I got the jumbo shrimp and a side of hushpuppies. Both were fantastic and the order of hushuppies were double the size I expected. They didn't come with any, so I whipped up my own creamy honey dipping sauce to go with them. My roommate order the Grilled Chicken & Rice which he described as seasoned wonderfully. He also enjoyed a side of mac & cheese. I've had the mac & cheese before and not really cared for the consistency. He enjoyed it but I like my mac and cheese creamier. The menu is huge. In addition to the friend fish by the pieces, the categories of options include appetizers/sides, salads, soups, dinners & platters, seafood boils, homestyle dinners, skillets, shellfish, ribs, chicken wings, ice cream, desserts, and a selection of beverages sold in 2 liters. We will definitely order from here again.

Cold and greasy just like you like it.

I ordered the Haddock Super Combo online (10/29/21) and had scheduled to pick it up an hour after I placed it (Ordered at 3:45 for a 5:00 Pick Up). This is as I thought would give them plenty of time to make my order. What I got was a dinner that was clearly refried and I am not referring only to the Haddock, EVERYTHING was refried, FRIES? Yep. HUSH PUPPIES? Yep. SHRIMP? Of Course. CHICKEN FINGERS? To a rock hard perfection. Now I should have taken this back but the time of night and bad weather made me say why bother? This place on a friday is a madhouse and I really don't want to wait to 7 - 7:30 to a get the meal done right or argue with the staff about how NOT fresh my meal was. I mean I arrived at 5:02 with only two other people in the store and I got this crap. Spending nearly $18 on a plate of old food refried (I mean gently reheated) and knowing it would take more than an hour to get it done correctly or get a refund only makes me think I am just better of skipping out on patronizing them. I thought when I had food poisoning from here years ago that it was a one time affair but after tonight, I see why I got sick. How hard is it to take fresh fish and dunk it hot CLEAN oil and pull it up and place in a container. This place has at least 10 fryers so why am I getting old food. If this was a particularly busy day I might understand the error in judgment but I ordered just before the friday night rush. I paid for upgrading the meal to curly fries and they were like the bottom of a bag scraps and not even full fries and cooked hard as well. I work in the food industry and take pride in giving customers great food even if I have to take longer in preparation. This is one of those times where I say WHAT HAPPENED TO FISH MARKETS IN BUFFALO? I went to a rival stand in Kenmore and they did this same crap of mass cooking fish and letting it sit until someone comes in to place in order. To boot I bought this for someone else. Nothing more disappointing than watching someone hungry decide whether to suffer through the meal or just dumping this where it belongs - THE TRASH. Skip Bailey Seafood unless you like to gamble.

What's left of the . Yummy

Yeah, I came back for another seafood boil. This time with mussels, shrimp and crab.. excellent flavor. Only complaint, the egg and corn were waaaaaay over done. Next time I will order without either one. FYI, they now have their own delivery and ordering online is easy and 10% off.

Fried dinner. Clam strips, seasoned fries, greens, mac and cheese, potato salad.
Cory W.

We GrubHub'd in an order tonight from Bailey Seafood as part of our ongoing attempt to support local businesses during the social distancing period. This place has a huge menu, so I ended up going with the Homestyle Fried Dinner so I could have a little of everything. It came with clam strips, seasoned fries, mac and cheese, hush puppies, greens, and potato salad. Top to bottom everything was great and the portion size is easily enough for 2-3 meals. It was all so good that I don't think I could find a complaint if I tried. My wife got an order of chicken fingers (I stole one) and that was great too! This was pretty much a perfect trip and I definitely think we'll be back.

The best seafood place! Good variety, good price, good food. It's just plain good. I love seafood, by seafood means not only shrimp. Most restaurant listed mostly shrimp for seafood selection, really??? So I'm very delightful to find one that has a very good variety. Clams, oysters, crabs (soft shell, snow crab), to variety of fish. List very extensive. They also sell good side dishes such as corn nuggets, coleslaw, cookies etc. My favorites are catfish nuggets and fried oysters. They are just the best. I also love their porgies fish, tidbits, soft shell crab, corn nuggets. I don't really care about their hush puppies. But overall I almost like everything I tried there. The negative side is the location. Not easy to find parking in their busy time. Also only take away. I wish they have sit down to eat. Because it's kind of far from my house.

Tried them again. Do NOT order the Alfredo, they use a JARRED sauce (mind you, the meal is $20) and the sh*t taste like watery Elmer's glue.
