Dog at a formal event
LaTasha A.

Bought tickets for the Union Ball. Drove up and was excited when I saw the valet sign since it was cold and raining. Waited and no valet person actually ever came. So that was disappointment number 1. Walked in and coat check was actually taking your coat, giving you a number and placing your coat on a table (NOT a coat rack). Disappointment number 2. The advertisement was for the Union Ball. However, the advertisement for performance artists were downstairs. But our table was upstairs, so we did not get any of the live performances. False advertisement. Disappointment number 3. We decided to order some food, and was informed the kitchen was closed and we couldn't order. But again, this was a special event. Disappointment number 4. I can keep going on. I will NOT advise purchasing tickets for special events here. Truth be told. I will probably decide not to come back there anymore! This was a formal event. This event served food. But they allowed a dog to come in? Again, to a formal event?

This is the spot that Memphis has been missing. An upscale environment with upscale music, people, food, and cocktails. This speakeasy has the environment and vibe that the most discerning taste will appreciate. There is a public space as well as a private area, that is a members only. In the private area, there is live entertainment as well as a cigar room.

Dry wings literary and fries

I've been wanting to see what was all the buzz about this place. I went to a Christmas event and the place was literary jammed pack. It's very narrow and doesn't have a designated place to dance. If I wanted to dance I would've had to dance in place because it was so crammed like sardines. The music was okay. The drinks are significantly overpriced. The food options are beyond minimal. They only had two food options which were sliders and fries or wings and fries. My friend ordered the wings and they came out in about 5 minutes which probably explains why the food was very luke warm. The waiter I had was not friendly at all. There are two levels and downstairs is literary no bigger. If you're going to go for a party or event I would get a table that way you could have your own space and not standing the entire night. Once people sit at the bar THEY DONT move! I'm glad the tickets were cheap. I stayed for 2 hours or less and left. I wanted to enjoy my experience but it was uncomfortable tight, the music wasn't my jam, and I was couldn't really move around because there were so many people. I really thought it would be upscale, unique, and fun.

Cameo hands down is the best place to get drinks & don't count out their bar food…read more Me and my girls decided to do All Day Happy Hour which are on Monday and it didn't miss. The service was great and the drinks were even better. We tried the Mai Tai, porn star martini , frosted Jake to name a few. The star of the show for me was the Frosted Jake. It was very refreshing surprisedly. And a huge shoutout to our bartender - I believe her name was Max!!!! Keep her on board. She is everything and so nice. Don't miss this spot at all.

Another Friday outing with the girls took us to Cameo for happy hour…read more It was a little empty as we arrived right at 4p but it didnt stay that way for long as I can see why. The place is small but inviting. The music playing through the speakers was like they had my spotify synced. All of my favs were playing. (Shoutout to whoever was respnaible for Melanie Fiona album The Bridge being in rotation. That's one of my favs). We were all pretty hungry so we ordered The Cameo Cheesburger and fries. It's a really nice sized burger and definitely will help soak up the "liquor" lol. From 4-7pm you get half off selected classic cocktails. I started with a French 75 and it definitely did its job. There is a cocktail on the menu called Rage Quit ($10) which simply states secret and danger. Well we decided to all try that and let's just say the danger snuck up on us lol I also had a Cosmo which was delicious as well. By this time we are felling really good but need to use the bathroom. We then discover there is a photobooth in the back area. It was pretty comical trying to get all 3 of us in the frame. We chatted with the staff afterwards to let them know that the we had a great experience. If you're looking for a nice happy hour spot, I highly suggest Cameo.

The ambiance is a mixture of beautiful and charming, yet sophisticated. It was pretty full when we arrived and when we left which was a good sign for business. We started with the cornbread. It had good flavor overall, but be warned that it has a small bite to it. If you're spice sensitive like me, it won't be your favorite. I got the AGNOLOTTI del PLIN for dinner which was a smaller plate of pasta (totally fine as it is dense and meant to be eaten with other things). You could definitely tell the pasta was homemade. It was good, but wasn't my favorite. Very mild in flavor. I'd likely get something else next time that has more of a sauce. My husband got the short rib and it was very good and full of flavor. The celery root risotto is different and refreshing. The star of the show was dessert. It was some kind of sticky toffee pudding with gelato. Possibly one of the best desserts I've ever eaten. I'd love to go back and try something else and for the dessert alone.

We came here to eat after a musical at 4:30…read more The ambience is relaxing and hip. I felt very comfortable and like I was in a more upscale establishment. Our service was excellent! Our server was very nice. Having one picky eater that sent her dish back twice is annoying but our server handled it perfectly. The food was all delicious but small servings. I would not recommend the artichoke; it's good but barely enough for a tasting and expensive for what you receive. The grouper was cooked perfectly but again for $40 the serving was small. The cornbread was delicious and a better serving. I would have personally preferred a small cast iron skillet of cornbread for the price instead of I think 4 slices. The cannoli was good, the carrot cake excellent and the parmesan gelato tasteless but for us a must try because we had not tasted it before. The heat was also out so it was cold but not unbearable.

But, I wasn't paying and I'd been snowed in for a week so, yeah, the lady did not protest too much lol. Anyway - GFC is walk-in only. We got lucky and were seated right away. We got right to ordering. GFC Wings, The Rolls, Crawfish Dumplings, and a carafe of house Sake. Our server was soooo nice. Let me reframe that...just about everyone we encountered were very kind. Even the other customers. To be clear...we ended up ordering a 2nd order of wings. I finished the crawfish dumplings AND the rolls. I should have placed an order to go. I already know what I'm going to order on my next trip. I'm also trying to figure out how to get GFC to the house for the man's birthday since they don't do takeout.

Beautiful ambiance in this smallish establishment that serves creative Japanese pub food. Ramen…read morenoods are house made and served in small bowls. We had the coconut curry broth which was a lite curry style but the winner here was the super crunchy wings in a ginger garlic sauce. Also a fav was their dumplings - simply to die for. Their specialty drinks are very creative and delicious- not to be missed. I would go as far to say this is more of a busy drinking place with excellent small plates. Service is a little sluggish for this always full spot so come early and be prepared to wait, walk-in's only. No reservations. Owners are a cute married couple; the husband is Mexican and the wife is Japanese and the creative mind behind the menu. Authentic fare, truly delicious
