I took a long formal dress in to be hemmed (shortened) and when I went to pick it up, all Fredy had done was cut along the chalked line! There were even hints of chalk still left on the dress. Very crude and not at all what I expected for a $48 fee. With a pair of shears, I could have done the job myself! I will be looking for another place for future alterations. read more

Fredy is AMAZING. This was the first piece I brought to him. I needed a structured mid-calf dress taken in at the waist. I was nervous because I love the existing shape...I spent maybe 15 minutes total with him for the consultation/pinning and pickup. The best tailor in Buswick Brooklyn is named Fredy! I brought Fredy a very challenging project. I found a vintage 80's suit that was two sizes too large. I asked that we retain the spirit of the 80's style while making a few changes to make the fit a bit more modern. Fredy accepted the challenge and achieved great results. The price for Fredy's work is reasonable. For me it's about service and communication. Fredy will schedule a specific date and time for you to come back to try your suit or shit on. I mainly came here because I work all day on weekdays and weekends so I don't have time to go to other places that run normal business hours. Weekdays pick up starts at 8pm so it works for me. Even though you get fitted in his kitchen, it didn't takeaway anything for me since I was looking for convenience versus some frou frou experience. The price is comparable to Manhattan in FiDi and Chinatown so it's not a place I'd say that is much cheaper given the location in Bushwick. read more

Fredy did a great job with my dress for my brother's wedding. It is one of those "million different ways" dresses and let's just say none of the million ways were quite working for me. I brought it to Freddie and I was super freaked out because my cellphone battery died and I was standing outside a residential building in bushwick going to a random man I found on the internet--but nothing to be freaked out by! Fredy did a great job!! He told me he would turn it around in 2 weeks, but with my travel schedule we made it 2.5 and he really did such an excellent job.
