Unfortunately didn't have the great experience others had. To start, getting this skirt altered was $53.00. It was explained that the reasoning regarding price was due to having to take the zipper out then sew it back in. That's fine, but pricier than anticipated. However, I was most disappointed with the skirt when it was returned to me. There's a black smudge on the skirt which wasn't there previously (as I took it out of brand new plastic wrap when I brought it in). The zipper is also sewn back into the skirt crooked, with slight puckering along it's hem. When paying a higher price for a service I would expect the results to reflect that. It seems my experience is rare, but I wanted to share it anyhow for those who may be considering a similar alteration.

I am absolutely shocked that there are good reviews on this tailor. I have gone to this shop before and he had charged a lot for a mediocre rehemming job for some cocktail dresses in the past. Tailoring cost actually more than the dress. My most recent experience with this hack job is the last time I will be coming to this place. Not only did he make a silk bridesmaid dress that was just slightly long, into something ridiculously uneven, it was longer in the front than in the back! I also asked to not cut much and see if it can be rehemmed in a way that can be undone in the case I wear longer heels in the future. Also, I have never in my 39 years seen such terrible unprofessional work where he asked me to come for fitting and measurements twice, only for him to make the dress worse than before. From the side, you can see the dress gradually shorten 2 inches and from the back one side was 2 inches longer than one side. He had also used white thread to rehem the dress when the dress did not have white thread on it! It wasn't a color close to any of the colors on the dress. To not even apologize or offer to undo the work, is inexcusable and he gave some lame excuse about his health. I was there a day before pickup when he asked for a refitting and he could have told me to take the dress back due to his health getting in the way of professional work. To only refund me what I paid is the least he could have done but this actually is causing me more stress as the DAMAGE is already done!

Just wanted to come back and post pictures. Obsessed with the way my bridesmaid's dress fit. Too perfect.

I took in a $500 pair of trousers that needed to be hemmed as well as taken in at the waist and Fredy nailed it!

Luciana reassured me that everything would get done in time, and continuously provided me with such wonderful service every time I went in. My main dress just needed a simple hem, but my second dress needed to be taken in multiple sizes and was a lace corset. They pulled off a miracle and everything was done perfectly with a week to spare. I found the pricing to be reasonable, even with the rush fee. I am so happy I ended up going to Tailoress!

Mine only involved one fitting/consultation and one pick up appointment because my dress was non-traditional and very small, almost like a cocktail dress. That being said, I really appreciated the opportunity to save on the cost of the additional appointment and the woman even tried to talk me out of one of one of the adjustments that she thought I didn't need (to be specific it was the back of the dress near the opening on top). I did it anyway and in total it came out to $226.63. I appreciated the timeliness of the appointments (for the most part) and the easy booking process. The turnaround time for the alteration itself was about 30 days which was just right for me. The shop was pretty busy and it's quite small, but there is seating outside on a small bench and it's in a cute enough area of Williamsburg where you can kick back. My small bit of feedback would be to offer a better, full length mirror in the upper (near the door) fitting room and to offer a restroom. I loved the cute vintage vibes/decor, free matches and stickers VERY much. Thanks for helping me create a beautiful memory!

They were able to recut my jacket and fix the crooked part and help deliver it to my office. I appreciate the effort in their resolution / believe the jacket was finally cut to the quality that everyone speaks about when it comes to Martin Greenfield. I truly wish the business the best of luck. --------------------------------------------- DO NOT GO HERE. I have NO idea where they got their credibility from because they are scammers and the worst tailors I have ever dealt with. I came here after getting stellar reviews from friends and I regret every dollar I spent here. I bought 2 suits from here for my wedding and not only did they mess up my suit jacket, they continued to pretend they were fixing it when they weren't. I noticed the front edge of my jacket was crooked and I told them about it. They said they could fix it no problem. When I went to pick it up, it looked exactly the same. I asked them to fix it again and their pattern maker said the jacket was cut wrong and he would fix it himself. At this point we are a week away from my wedding because they kept saying they would fix it when they didn't. When I came to pick it up the day before my wedding, they told me they couldn't fix it in time and that after my wedding I could bring it back to get it fixed. I brought it back after my wedding and gave them 3 weeks to fix it. What do you know, AGAIN, they give me the SAME jacket, completely untouched and STILL CROOKED. I had a friend who is a pattern maker look at this jacket and the only way to fix it is to RECUT THE SUIT. Which Martin Greenfield is clearly too cheap to fix his own mistSince then, I have called 3 times which has led me to their front desk person who keeps taking my number down and saying someone will call me. No one calls me back. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT AN ACTUAL CUSTOM SUIT. Go to Enzo Customs in midtown if you're looking for solid guys who won't mess up your suit and then keep tricking you by telling you they'll fix it when they won't. PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR THE WORST SUIT YOU CAN EVER IMAGINE.
