You'd think hemming a pair of jeans would be easy right? Apparently not. I took a pair of jeans and a skirt in on a Saturday and he said pick up Wednesday 5pm. I go in Wednesday 3pm cause I was close by and my clothes were in a pile on the floor mixed in with a bunch of other peoples clothes and nothing had been done except the hem cut off the jeans. You'd think that after 4 days of having the items they might be done 2 hours before they're supposed to be picked up. I came back at 5 and he still wasn't done so I had to sit and wait. It was clear that, because he waited until last minute, the work was shoddy. He altered the skirt in a completely different way than we discussed, and when I got home, and the jeans were 2 inches too short. I came back the next day and asked him to redo his work, he made two marks on the back in the pants, no measurements, he said he'd make them longer and I said you didn't take any measuremenus so he just pulled a random number out of the ether and decided to make them an inch and a half longer and told me to come back again the next day? I said no I want them today! These jeans were almost $150 and came with a gorgeous thick hem with a retro look, and because he cut off too much material the first time, making the pants too short, there wasn't enough material left to keep the hem nice and thick. If you cant trust him with the simple task of hemming pants, don't trust him with anything. No organization, no notes, no measurents, all the clothes in a pile on the floor. read more

ruined a pair of pants I took to get hemmed. I tried them on inside and he pinned them. I asked to see where the pin was to confirm it was the length I wanted, and it looked fine. I had to call/text on the day he said they would be ready to confirm I could come get them. I should have tried them on when I went to pick them up but I didn't. days later I went to go wear them and they were several inches shorter than what I asked for and where he put the pins. they were brand new pants and now I can't wear them, they're legitimately high waters. would not recommend. read more

OMG what a great trailer and a complete lifesaver. I contacted Junior at 6:45pm desperate to get my suit pants hemmed before a crucial date at 9:00pm. All other tailors were long closed and he was literally my last hope. He told me to come in right away and as soon as I arrived he immediately got to work. His attention to detail and professionalism was immediately evident; not only hemming the pants but also shortening the suit jacket sleeves which I didn't initially ask for due to time. He made all the alterations within the hour, did a superb job, recommended further alterations, and is just a stand up person. He's my tailor for sure going forward. read more

He does a fabulous job. Dropped 4 jackets off here and satisfied with all of them. He lets you know right away if a particular alteration is possible, based on the seams structure of the clothing. Like some of the reviews have mentioned, yes, he sometimes do require more days than he initially says, but that's because he cares about the quality of his work. Some clothing items are more complex than others. In my case I had a jacket that was unique in the seams compartment and he required an extra week on that. If you need express service you can pay more $ elsewhere. I find junior's rates great. As far as picking up clothing items and them not being ready... just give Junior a call beforehand to check. Never again. I really wanted this to be my tailor, but the service is inconsistent and unreliable. While the work is good for an incredible price, you'll save so much time and frustration going just about anyplace else. I've visited about 4 times and the last two encounters were absurd. The first interaction was slightly awkward. I brought a slew of shirts to have the sleeves shortened. He does this for $10 a pop, bringing up the placket and all, which is a great deal. He made me leave a cash deposit (I think I left $40) before he'd take my shirts, which is something I'd never done before nor since. I guess he thought I'd just abandon my shirts? Whatever, the work was fine. He even called to let me know it was ready to pick up early. The time before last he told me the items would be ready by Saturday. When I came to pick them up he looked surprised. He apathetically told me how busy he'd been and could I pick it up during the week? No phone call. No warning that the work was delayed. And no call when it was finally ready. I work day and night during the week so had to come back in the next weekend to grab the stuff. I brushed it off though, because the work was decent and the price is great. The last time was the worst. I came in on a Saturday, two days after the items were supposed to be ready. 3 pairs of pants brought in, and a coat sleeve hem. When I came in the coat was splayed out on the counter, obviously unfinished. I asked him if it was mine and he goes "Ah, yes! I need to remeasure. I think I messed up!" WHAT? You mistake a measurement and wait for me to come in to get it right? Why not try a phone call?? But he told me he'd have it ready by that evening, would call me, and ride out to my train stop (I live further out on the L) to meet me and deliver the goods. I thanked him, payed him there, shook his hand and then never heard from him. I called on Monday to ask why I never heard from him, he said he'd worked late and then it started raining (it did... at around midnight). So I told him he should've at least called. But instead of ever apologizing he just blamed the rain again. So, you make an assurance to go above and beyond, take a customer's money on that pretense, and then ghost them? Absolutely rude. Ridiculous. I won't be back.. he's obviously got too much rolling in to care about my business. Best of luck, dude. read more

I left 2 suits here to be picked up (3 weeks). One of them I had a family emergency and had to pick up earlier than I initially told him, so I needed it in 1 week. I told him the situation and he said it would be done. for 3 days in a row it wasn't done. I finally got it right before my plane left. I came back for the other suit 2 weeks later, and it wasn't done. Multiple times he said he'd call me when it was done and he never did. Same run around as other people here have mentioned, he closed his shop early and left, wasn't there when he said he would be after that. The work was ok, but once again, not worth the trouble. I'd give it 1.5 if I could because he was a friendly person. read more

Bought a suit to Junior this past week to have the pants hemmed and tapered. He removed the bunching in the upper back of the suit jacket and lengthened sleeves. The work was done quickly and expertly. As someone with super long arms, I'm constantly struggling with the problem of sleeves that aren't long enough. My main man Junior gets the job done. He hooked me up!! I had been checking around yesterday for a tailor in the area but they had all either left for the day or wouldn't be able to finish my suit until Monday at the earliest. I needed a suit to be tailored for work on Sunday (yes Super Bowl Sunday ). I came across Juniors business on Yelp and gave him a call. He said he could have to suit for Mr by 7 pm this evening. I was shocked. I thought Saturday would be the soonest. So I went to his shop where he took my measurements and asked what I wanted to suit to look like. I was pleased with his service and made a deposit with no problem. Junior told me to call him at 6 pm today just to confirm. But I didn't have to. Junior reached out to me a little after 5 pm today to let me know my suit was done and ready to be picked up! I was super excited. Picked up my suit earlier and it was tailored to perfection. i have this faux leather duffel bag, needed to replace a zipper. He said to come pick it up on tuesday, but it wasn't ready till thursday. He did a lame job, leather form both sides of the zipper was ripped, i had to use black sharpie to color those spots so it won't be that visible. And when i pointed at it, he was like : "come on, don't look at it"... what??? I don't know about his skills when it comes to clothes tho. but for me, never again. read more

This place rests just below 4 stars, but over it's great. Recommended for locals on a budget. The tailor is legit. He knows his craft and will listen to specific and unusual adjustments you request, albeit with some language barriers now and then. He's very nice,polite, and likes to see you look good. The downside is sometimes his work takes time and he has forgotten to do one or two things when i bring several items to him. But this is a forgivable fault for those of us who like neighborhood joints and honest people. I've brought clothes to local laudromats that advertize alterations and have been met wirh rude fakes.
