I wanted to order a cute and yummy looking jiggly bear dessert, but I was too full and didn't know how it would travel the 1hr plus drive back home. Pleasantly surprised to discover that Shaloka is a food court stand in Eastview Mall. The quality of their bowls exceeded my expectations of typical food court food. What sets Shaloka apart from Tai Chi is their fruit bowls (Açai and Pitaya/Dragonfruit) and also their Signature Bowls. The fruit bowls are super refreshing and are akin to a smoothie in a spoon and bowl format. Their Signature Bowls also take the guesswork out of it. They are recipes that have already been tested. They are still customizable and you can even build your own like at Tai Chi if you wanted to. I got their Signature Hawaiian Classic bowl and it was delicious. Ahi tuna, salmon, avocado...enough said. It was yummy and I actually really loved their brown rice. It was short grain and had some good texture. I had to pack it back up, leave the office, and drive back to the restaurant. I showed them the fly, and they were apologetic, but only offered to remake my meal OR give me a refund. Given that I was very hungry and didn't have much of my lunch hour left, I told them to remake it. I dis tell them that I felt they should give me a refund and remake the meal, but they said that they could not do that. I had to sit and wait for them to make me new food, and the only other thing they were willing to do for me was give me an iced coffee (which, for the record, was disgusting).
