I wish I took a photo of the restaurant. The decor was amazing!! We got the carne asada burrito box and a cheese quesadilla for our son. The food was very fresh and flavorful which was refreshing since they were minutes from closing. Madison was very helpful with the menu and was engaging which I really liked. They also offer 4 salsa options which gave a decent spicy range. I would've given 5 stars but the cheese in the quesadilla was far from melted (which could've been due to the time of our order). All and all, we will definitely return to Tacoria!! read more

Discovered this spot being a yelp elite-r, and I can see the hype. Was very packed the night I spotted by, both in the parking lot and inside the facility. Bit awkward to pull into the parking lot, off of 17, right before the GSP exit, and then leaving was a bit weird too. For the entrance/exit alone, I am unsure if I would come back to this Tacoria establishment. I enjoyed a cheese quesadilla, chips and guac, with a coke from a classic glass bottle. No fuss about the quesadilla, but enjoyed the chips and guac. Wish I snapped a picture of the food, took it to go, and forgot to do so. Really like the rustic/garden-y vibe going on, and the sign at the door was pretty funny. The people working the register looked a little flustered with how many people were there, but had a handle on it overall. Stopped by the new location conveniently located on route 17. We enjoyed the tacos, some of which are pretty spicy. The sweet horchata helps to bring down the heat. We had carne asada, pollo asado, rajas, and al pastor with to go cups of each sauce from the sauce bar. I pre-ordered over the phone and somehow ended up with an extra taco but that was ok. The food was ready when I arrived. I added horchata to my order and served myself at the drink station as well as the sauce station. I've been to 2 other locations and they seem to be pretty consistent with the others. They have options for vegans and carnivores alike. read more

You have to try this. This doesn't compare to chipotle, moes and qdoba (respectfully good), but it just hits differently. I got the burrito bowls, tacos, quesadilla, corn and guacamole/chips. A variety of protein, but the chorizo taco and the al pastor burrito bowl definitely stood out. The quesadilla with chicken was SO CHEESY. I like that you can get single tacos and have different proteins for each, it gives you variety and a chance to try all of the protein options. The Al pastor bowl with the pineapple had just enough sweetness. We got the drinks in the containers (pink juice and a milky one) , I wish I knew what they were, but they didn't have labels. We were driving home from Woodstock when we realised we needed to grab some food. I'm usually a bit skeptical about (Tex) Mexican style food outside of major areas like NYC and San Diego/LA (especially with such a punny name), but we figured we'd give this a shot since we were starving and the pictures looked nice. Although Tacoria is situated in a strip mall, they really did a great job of setting themselves apart. When you first walk in, you're transported to an instagram ad that is reminiscent of Tulum. The spray painted walls, the Frida Kahlo mural, the lights, etc. Everything is just...so...photogenic. I really really hated how much I dug the decor, but I appreciated seeing the tias in the back prepping the food. I didn't realise, but the place is a fast casual type of deal where you get tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. and then choose proteins. I don't want to compare it to Chipotle, but I kind of have to. This has more of an authentic feel, which I'm mostly saying because they offered elote and chicken tinga, which isn't really common. I ended up going for said elote, an agua fresca, and three tacos -- tinga, pastor, and a roasted corn one whose name I can't remember. The elote was done perfectly with the sauce and cheese sprinkled atop, though the corn did lack flavour (it's not really in season). The pastor looked legit -- the sliced pineapple atop reminded me of the CDMX style -- and tasted nearly legit too, though needed some more flavour. The tinga is always hard to do, but their protein was particularly dry. The roasted corn was fine, but nothing I would come back for. The highlights were definitely the variety of agua frescas they had (guayaba, horchata, and another I can't remember) and the different salsas on hand. If I was driving down the same route home, I'd def come back. read more

I was pleased with this visit overall. Not a big place, though they do have outdoor seating. Service was friendly and attentive. Food is cooked fresh and didn't take too long to prepare the whole order. It wasn't busy. The ensalata is ok. Big enough, with plenty of beans, although some more lettuce would've been nice for a salad. The chicken was tasty. Salad dressing that comes with it was a little oily, but otherwise ok flavor. I ended up dousing my salad with every homemade sauce they have. Habanero was the favorite. The quesadilla was good, although some parts inside were filled with heavy glops of cheese. Some people like that, but it can get sickening. Steak was nice and not chewy. The tacos were freshly prepared and tasted great. No complaints. The guava basil drink was refreshing and not too sweet. Trying this place for a second time. I will say i am not a fan of their burritos, if you order chicken or steak you would barely see any of the protein in there. All rice & beans! I will never order there burritos again. I ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla and it was really tasty and cheesy, that i do recommend. I Also ordered a side of Mexican street corn which was very good & side of chips with guacamole which the chips were fresh and the guacamole delicious. Yum! Loved the corn!! You have to try it. Super naturally sweet, and the vegan aioli with cilantro and a squeeze of lime was perfection! Creamy and sweet with a pop of flavor. The salad was very fresh; loved the lean steak and chicken were both very flavorful without any fat. The salsa bar was fun - all were full of flavor without being too spicy (I tried the mild ones!). A solid 4 stars for Tacoria. After having driven past this place countless times I was finally able to eat here. My boyfriend I dined here last night in search of a place where we could sit down and have a quick bite to eat, and this certainly fit the bill. This place is a little on the pricier side - we ordered two burritos, two drinks plus 15% gratuity, which ran us around $40. Overall I mostly enjoyed my burrito, although I found myself wishing that the rice had more flavor and that they would have put more of the protein I selected in the burrito (there wasn't a lot of the golden avocado in there, maybe 2-3 slices). What I did enjoy that helped to bring more flavor to my meal was the house made hot sauces - they offer a variety from salsa verde, to smokey bbq (my personal favorite) & habanero, which I felt helped to elevate the meal. The atmosphere can be described as trendy, with graffiti & plants on the walls, and offers limited picnic style seating. I was excited by the breadth of this menu, but having been here, I can't give an unqualified recommendation. I ordered three pollo asado tacos, with the free optional chipotle crema, and a side of chips and guacamole. I'd say the chicken was the star of the tacos: nicely marinated, and still moist. It needs to be in smaller chunks so that you get more of the marinade in each bite. The supplied limes gave a welcome touch of acid, which probably would have cut through the crema decently if it could have gotten through all the other toppings that were in the way. The radish provided a texture and cooled off the mild spice (you don't get to choose how spicy you want it), and the raw diced onions provided crunch. The tortilla was just fine. The guacamole was solid, if unsurprising. Not very chunky, which was to my taste, but needed amping up with salt, just like the tacos. Conversely I found the chips to be well salted, although they were also on the verge of being overfried, as evidenced by their dark color and pillowing. As a fast casual restaurant, the experience of getting in and out counts toward the rating. The location is a huge negative. To get in, you need to be in the same single lane that people use to get on the Parkway. It's always near bumper to bumper. To get out, you'll have to merge with the same lane. I placed an order right at noon online, and appreciated that the food was ready just 8 minutes later, when I arrived. I joined two other families that were already eating outside. While I enjoy smoking a generous amount of pork butt and shoulder outside, right now it's damn near impossible with how cold it got.. so instead i went over to tacoria for some tacos and elote. Overall the presentation of the place and food is really awesome. Cool vibes, some nice vibes hanging from the ceiling, bright industrial type lighting and cool tile flooring. I tried three diff tacos, six total, and four elotes for some hungry people back home. Overall the tacos are OK, I am a bit spoiled bc I make my own smoked al pastor to my own personal taste, but this was a good fast alternative. I wish it had more of an authentic flavor kick/profile, but it was still good. The elote was smothered nicely, but also was lacking a bit of a kick. Maybe needed more lime. Tacoria is newly opened and conveniently located off the NJ 17 so it's a great spot to grab lunch on the go. Right now they're not doing indoor dining, but we were able to get lunch to go and ate in the car. I got a carne asada taco and one Al pastor taco.the carne asada had a ton of thicc meat in it that was overflowing out of the little corn tortilla. It was tasty, but you'll need to be ready for a meat moment. The al pastor was really well balanced and had a perfect pineapple to pastor ratio. I also got a side of golden fried avocado which was soooo good. Definitely at least try a side if you don't get it as a taco filling. For my beverage, I tried the lime agua Fresca which was super refreshing and delicious + not too sweet, so I suggest dabbling in this. hmm I think if youve never had amazing authentic tacos you would think this place is a 5/5 but for me it was pretty average tasting. Compared to other taco spots ive been to, these tacos were very dry and the meat was tough to swallow. I tried the el pastor, carne asada, chorizo, pollo tinga, and pollo asada. My favorite was probably the grilled chicken because it was the least dry. But based on presentation alone I would eat it again because it looks so good. I did however love the tortilla chips. They were thick and gave you the best crunch. The interior also gives off such a nice vibe and makes you feel excited to be there. I don't think this would be a spot I visit again but they are decent tacos if you need to get a taco fix in to cure your craving. read more

Delicious! We stopped in for dinner by chance and we're pleasantly surprised! From the ambiance to the food everything was VERY GOOD! We ordered a few tacos and they were amazing, the carne asada, pollo asada, and Brussels sprout. My favorite was definitely the Brussels sprout taco! I have been to this spot once before for an event but this is my first open review. I picked this spot for lunch and ordered different items via the phone. When I arrived I parked in the plaza parking lot. They had indoor and outdoor seating and the place is uniquely decorated which was cool. I went to the counter and told the cashier my name and she handed me my food. I paid and asked for the drinks I ordered. Tacoria is another 'fast casual' Mexican place to join the scene, and as such, it has a lot of competition. Did it stand up to its competitors, both big and small? Tacoria's concept and branding is all about celebrating Mexican street food. From its decorated interior to its silver metal trays and hardwood tables, Tacoria is insistent on it's branding - and honestly, I appreciate that. Although this is definitely casual fare, the restaurant itself is gorgeous. It can actually be a bit overwhelming at times, being there is so much eye candy to distract you, but I appreciate the loud, proud, 'HERE I AM' dedication to the genre of 'street food.' Kudos to the designers and artists that created this joint. The atmosphere is certainly a step above any of the other fast-casual, Mexican eateries. There are a few different entrees to choose from, including tacos, quesadillas,  burritos, and more. Even better, there are several different meats and fillings to choose from, including a few vegan options. My friend and I decided to try the tacos, and to our delight, we could mix and match a set of three - a HUGE plus for such a place. Between the two of us, we both got the carne asada (marinated steak) and al pastor (roasted pork) tacos, plus individually got the chicken tinga and the avocado tacos. Our collective favorite was the carne asada. Typically, carne asada tacos are made with the 'bits' of the beef - not so with this! The meat was absolutely tender and tasty. Second favorite (for me) was the avocado taco, as the tastes and textures melded beautifully with one another. In last place was the al pastor, and it's a shame because they are my favorite types of tacos. It wasn't bad, but there was something missing in the flavor. Al pastor tacos are usually served with pineapple, and have a smoky, sweet taste. The meat was a little on the bland side, and my friend agreed. While I didn't taste the chicken tinga taco, my friend said it was tasty. Three tacos are around 9 bucks, and while that's incredibly fair, I did think the tacos were a little on the small side. I probably could have eaten another three of them, to be honest. We also got chips, salsa, and guacamole, and they were just as tasty as the tacos. Above all, everything was FRESH. Even the tableside sauces (mango habanero, salsa verde, and smoky roja) were made fresh, and if a restaurant is taking the time to put in those small details, it is for sure worth it. There are also these amazing little homemade drinks on their soda fountains - horchata, lemonade, and some kind of fruity basil agua fresca. While sweet, they add a nice little touch to your meal. I cut the lemonade with club soda to make it a little more palatable. Tacoria definitely makes the cut and stands out among its Mexican food brethren. I attend the Yelp week check in event. I am extremely happy I was able to make it. The place is spacious and well decorated. Love the chic and street tagging design. I ordered the box burrito-Carne Asada with Mexican Street Corn. The food was delicious. Full of flavor. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with Mexican Street Corn. It was super tender. Just like "fall off the bone". My guest ordered the box burrito- chicken with chips and guacamole. I took some and it was delicious too. Even though I was full, I kept going in for another bite. I had dined with Tacoria (courtesy of Yelp) a few years ago when they opened in Jersey City. I wasn't impressed with anything besides the decor. When I saw it closed I was disappointed for them, but didn't feel any loss. Fast forward and they've reopened in Paramus. The decor, again, was gorgeous. I absolutely LOVE all the live philodendrons hanging from the ceiling. I ordered the Ensalada with Brussel sprouts as my protein. It was DELISH! The pineapple dressing was sooo good. Before I review the food, I'll give you some recommendations: - if you're a guy or girl looking for a cool hangout place to eat, this place blasts super loud rap music and has more of a rustic cool atmosphere - don't come here on like a date or anything. It is far too loud and it'll be awkward because everyone orders out -if you haven't tried tacos, these are pretty authentic. If you live nearby then it should be okay. If you live further, the shells WILL get soggy Okay, so now the food. There are a lot of salsas at the sauce bar. There is also a wide range of sodas. Came here for the food, but the wall art of Frida Kahlo didn't disappoint either. The place is so new they don't have their sign up but it's next to P.C. Richard. And even though this is Paramus, on a Sunday I don't have to worry that route 17 will turn into a parking lot. And with lots of parking, this is a better spot for me to go to. I love Tacoria Mexican Street Corn, which comes with chipotle aioli sauce, cotija cheese, cilantro, and a slice of lime because it has so many flavors all roll into one. I also got the Burrito Box with spicy Chorizo as the protein and some extra Guac, The base has rice with Black Beans, salsa, Pico de Galio. The protein side of Chorizo is ground up with Salsa Verde and packs a little heat. But I would eat just their rice and beans alone because it's so good. read more

It's clean and the workers are very friendly. I ordered the tacos and quesadilla and they both tasted very good the side of corn is amazing and to die for you have to order it. They have their own sauces that you have to ask for. ( the sign is on the side of where you pick up the food from to the right so make sure you locate this). I saw that a new Mexican place had opened up on Route 17, and so when I had a chance to stop by the new strip mall it's built in, I also had to give Tacoria a try. The easiest way to describe Tacoria is to say it's like Chipotle... but in reality, it not! The way Tacoria operates is you place your order at the register off of their menu: first you choose your dish (I got the hand crafted tacos and the burrito box), second you choose your protein (for the tacos I chose al pastor, but you have the option to make all three tacos three different meats if you'd like) and for the burrito box I chose the carne asada, and any additional toppings youd like to add on (I added guacamole on to both I was extremely happy with how generous the portion was), and that's it! You can choose to add sides, and drinks - I went with Mexican street corn (seriously, the best I've tried in this area, I don't know what it is, but it's very good), and their house made drinks (I think it was lime/mint and guava/basil). Everything I tried was delicious, and for the vegans out there, they also offer vegan options that I am curious to try! However, even more impressive than their dishes, was the speed at which the staff in the back makes your food, fresh, and to order! There were already about 7-10 customers who had ordered ahead of me, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes before mine came out. And, what great, is that you can even call ahead and place your order for easy pick up. But really, the icing on the cake at Tacoria is their eco-conscious packaging, utensils, and bags. I immediately noticed that they used compostable and recyclable containers, straws, and utensils with my order. Maybe it's just the millennial in me, but it was noted, and appreciated.
