The cold and old "carne asada fries"
    Joel E.

We haven't ate this in so long and it sounded good. We were craving it tonight , and figured why not? After waiting about 20 min through the drive thru which is typically average waiting time. We got home and were disappointed! The food wasn't even warm. I live 3 minutes away. The cheese isn't melted on my rolled tacos. And my $14 carne asada fries were stale AF and cold! The only thing that was up to par was the horchata. The wife and I quickly remembered why we haven't ate at this place in a while and now we def know. And we definitely won't be back to our neighborhood Taco Star, which was far from a a 1 star establishment tonight! Also, my wife tried calling to complain, but go figure, the phones disconnected! Stay far away from this place! Visit Chubbys around the corner or even TacoBell.

Carne Asada tacos with guacamole on flour tortillas

Tried Taco Star for the first time. I was very happy with my purchase. I would come back for more. I enjoyed two carnitas tacos and two carne asada tacos. They came with plenty of green and red salsa. The service was good. I should have also ordered some fries. The tacos came on two flour tortillas. A drive through option was available. Normal waiting time.

    It's these a chile relleno

Definitely I would never never never order chiles rellenos , The adobada and asada fries are good though

Taco Star is 24 Hour Operating Tex-Mex themed Drive Thru!! Mainly serving family style taco meal, carni asada burrito, carnitas plate combo, 12 rolled tacos, adobada torta, mix enchiladas, chorizo & eggs plate, and super nachos. Taco Star uses the freshest ingredients in preparing their food to provide the best quality and taste. They have a pretty killer reward point system with money off coupons for regulars, coming to enjoy the foods!! Closest thing I've been able to find to a California Burrito like the ones you get in San Diego!!

Rats Rats Rats!!!!! Me and my husband were in the drive thru tonight at 12:45am and watched a Rat run behind the building to the dumpster. Then we noticed a dead bloated rat laying behind the menu sign. My husband still decided to order food. We will see if he is still alive in the morning. Save yourself the money and don't go here. Are you sure that's chicken in your tacos? Rat... the other white meat.

Three tacos, should have called a left over stale nachos.once ahi have been here in the past and it was good.

I bragged about this place to my wife, and so I brought her some food. Not only did they get her food wrong, my tacos were trash. I also had a burrito that I asked for no tomatoes, and of course they had tomatoes. Very disappointed. The salsa was the best part of the meal.

Bones in the chicken enchilada like wtf bro ?

This is not a good place for Mexican food. Overall a dirty restaurant, Sub par food and not a pleasant experience.

Seating for 6 at best and mostly a counter and a kitchen. Is this in a location that is just a little unexposed to drive by traffic, yes. It is off Sheridan and 10th Ave between apartment buildings and houses not what you expect. As I drove up to the location it is in a building with an off brand convenience store and a dry cleaners with no other businesses nearby. It's not real inviting from the exterior or even the interior as far as that goes. This is a classic case of " don't judge a book by It's cover " or you'll be missing out on a real gem for customer service and tasty eats. We were greeted upon arrival by a very pleasant lady behind the counter. We took one of the three small empty tables and studied the menu. You order at the counter and most of the customer traffic while we were there was Doordash type orders and the to go orders were steady. My son ordered three tacos and a bottle of Coke. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon as the protein and smothered with green chili. This is rare but my son raved about the tacos, not just that they were good. He stated that he would definitely be returning to repeat the experience. He said he could taste every ingredient used to make his tacos. My breakfast burrito was very tasty, every ingredient was cooked to my expectation. The eggs were fluffy, bacon crispy but not burnt and the hash browns cooked to perfection. The star of this dish for me was the green chili that smothered an already delicious breakfast burrito. We both agreed this was one of the best lunches we have enjoyed over the years. Don't be put off by the location or the exterior, its worth a visit. The service was good, food was excellent, the place was clean and the prices were reasonable. I don't know the story behind this restaurant but I hope going forward they get good business demand because good food and good service should be appreciated. In the last three or more years service has certainly declined and good food is harder to find at reasonable prices. I will be back when I am in the area to try other dishes and my son who lives not too far away says it is his new taco place. I would invite other Yelper's to give it a try.

They have a lot of menu items, and I have yet to be disappointed. My husband loves the mole enchiladas, I love the birria tacos and I know the quesadillas are awesome and huge. Not a fan of their beans, just not for me but that's not what we go here for anyways. The service when ordering out is always great and fast. I don't order ahead a lot of times, as I'm usually only waiting maybe 10 minutes tops for an order of 3 dinner meals. Service for dine in could use some improvements. You can tell staff isn't used to a lot of dinning in, and sometimes are even themselves having their lunch in the dining area in the restaurant. It's all order at the counter, pay and they bring it out for you, so no table service which didn't bother us but not made known to customers right away. We always get food here though when we need good Mexican food. Flavorful, delicious, and portions are worth the prices, trust me. So if you just want good Mexican food done right, at a good price and don't need the big chain restaurant tacky decor ambiance, you have to give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

I got the steak fajitas and the meat was really yummy. The tortillas were perfect and their pico added just the right amount of spice. note for somebody who gets a lot of fajitas. There was no guacamole, sour cream or cheese. Just rice beans and pico, but I was happy. My table partner got Birria Xalisco. And said that the meet and consome was delicious and the blue masa cake might've been the best part. Wheelchair accessibility: there are several different seating options both inside and outside that work for a wheelchair user. The path of travel inside the restaurant is a little bit tight, and the path of travel back to the bathrooms is pretty tight and somebody with a larger chair might not be able to make it through. The bathroom door is super super heavy to where we had to have somebody else open it.
