There is only one word to describe this restaurant: perfection. I can't think of a single thing that I would change. First off, I need to compliment the entire staff from the waitresses to the cooks. It's clear that this restaurant is a well-oiled machine and no matter how busy it gets there the waiting time and quality do not waiver. The food is the best Mexican food I've ever had anywhere. I ordered a good amount of food including menudo , i asked specifically how i wanted it to be made , there was no flavor it was mainly watered down with a tint of orange, if i could rate this place zero stars i would , not only that I ordered Barbacoa , it was terrible , dry and nasty . I ate half of everything and was too put off to finish. The side of green Chile (looked like orange chili) was basically tomato soup with some chili in it. And they only gave me 2 tiny hot sauce containers for 6 tacos. I was not taken aback by the coffee shop circa 1978 decor, cause sometimes angels have dirty faces. It comes down to the food, people, and the food was not very good. In fact, it lived up to the decor. Bland, overcooked, dry, stale. Bummer. Service was great, and the rest of the clientele seemed to be enjoying themselves. But I was underwhelmed. Before you tell me to STFU, I will say that YMMV, IMHO. I'll just go a block north or south, to La Palapa or La Botana, which both r00l. I wanted YASMG and I got TSMC. AFAIK, I won't BRB. LOL. WTF! Messed up my entire to-go order and overcharged me. When I called to speak to the female Owner about the messed-up order, she argued with me and repeatedly told ME that the server told her I ordered meat (which I did not). I am a vegetarian and received ground beef in my to-go order and the other 3 to-go orders were also not correct. I will not return to this restaurant because the Owner is rude and does not care. She did absolutely NOTHING to make it right!! She did eventually say "sorry" at the very end of the conversation because she has known me for many years of visiting this restaurant. The waitstaff is usually extremely rude, so I decided to start ordering TO-GO food instead. This is the very last time that I will give them my hard-earned money. read more

I had a Mexican hamburger which was okay but I can remember when M&G's made them and I've yet to find anyone restaurant that compares. The taco was okay, don't like the way the meat was prepaired but again it was okay. The menudo was very good with lots of homney. Mom said the encheladas were "great." Well, this rating might be closer to a four-star rating, but deal with it. I am giving it five-stars. I am doing this due to the fact that my family has been going to this place pretty much since it first opened up. My family knows the owners pretty well and they've treated us quite well over the years. Very friendly too. As many times we have gone here, I can't say that I've tried too many different foods. It's just that I like their smothered steak burrito so much that it's too hard to no go with that choice. The price is real reasonable for the burrito as well, so that helps. It would be a shame to pass this place up in my opinion. If I lived closer these days, I'd go to this Mexican restaurant more often. read more

Went here today and was pretty impressed. Beef and chicken enchiladas were good, green chile was good and ground beef was good. I got a combo plate so I was able to try a variety. Also liked their rice and beans! I will definitely be going back here in the future read more

Probably the best menudo I've ever had. Everything was perfect with the to-go items. Lime, oregano, red pepper, white tortilla (I know I'm a gringo). I really enjoy this place! It's got great salsa (not too hot, not tomato sauce) and the food is excellent. Cilantro haters, note that they do use it in the salsa. The ground and shredded beef fillings I've tried have had good flavor, they were well seasoned. This flies in the face of most Denver Mexican food values, but it greatly pleases my foodie's palate. Chili rellanos were moderately spicy, not excessively spicy. Most people should be able to eat here without sweating too much due to high Scoville ratings. The service can be a little slow at times, though that is mostly due to lackadaisical waitstaff than a slow kitchen. It's not a deal breaker for me, since the waitstaff are always pretty friendly and helpful despite their lack of haste. The most fabulous part about this restaurant is the prices-- it's easy on the wallet, which means I can go here more often. Sounds win-win to me! read more

Great food. We absolutely love it here when it's not busy. We have learned that when it's busy not only is the wait for seating a while but so is service. Once we finally got seated we waited about 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken and another 15 minuets to receive the drinks and place our finale order. Needless to say we stick to weekdays or morning weekends to attend. They need a bigger venue and a more observant wait staff that is capable of handling more then two tables at a time. read more

My son had enchiladas and I had a shrimp cocktail and smothered chille relleno and in the words of my very picky son, "so very delicious". 2nd best crispy chile rellenos I've ever had! We eat there twice a week lol. The staff is incredibly friendly and the green chile is AMAZING!! I it gets SUPER busy on Sunday around 11 (after Church lets out) so get there early or go for a late lunch if it's the weekend. My older always gets the steak; I'm not thrilled with it but it's not bad. Chile rellenos are the way to go! read more
