Fast and simple street tacos! Not too expensive, each taco was $2.50. They don't skimp on the meat either. The chorizo was my least favorite, too salty for me. But everything else was good. It's counter service, order and find your table. They ask if you like cilantro and onions as well which is nice. The green chili and hot sauce isn't that spicy but still good. Great place to go for a quick bite. They are super nice and brings the food to you instead of calling your name. A nice little hole in the wall. read more

I was craving late night tacos and this place was so good! We ordered takeout. Some reviews said they do not have staff that speaks English but the cashier rang us up with no issue. I think tacos were $2.50 a piece and the quesadilla was $8. The meat was great quality, everything tasted delicious, and the location was super clean. Half of the booths were blocked off so the restaurant could be at half capacity. The quesadilla with chicken was super cheesy, buttery and yummy. Tacos were just what I wanted! I usually come to this place because I love their asada sopes but this past time I ordered from them they gave me one less than the usual order comes with and charged me more than usual. Right before I left I asked for three extra salsas and they told me they only give out three per order so I was a bit bummed. Nonetheless I went home and took a bite out of it and it was the most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth. It had such a foul odor coming off of it and the meat was so obviously cut in a rush because all the chunks were huge. Not to mention the dough was soggy and the lettuce was not fresh. This is the third time I've been there. First two times food was pretty good, looked and tasted fresh. Service was ok as well. Music is way too loud, hard to hear anything else. Today I bought three carnitas tacos. Instead of the pork being tender and juicy like it was the first time I bought from them, this time it was dry, hard to chew, and obviously old, possibly the last that was in the pan...it was horrible. After the ballgame, I had a craving for tacos. Tacos Junior satisfied that craving. I got four meat tacos, two beef and two chorizo. They traveled well back to the hotel room and were still in great shape. Properly dressed with two lime wedges and a big pile of cilantro and chopped onion. Very tasty and enjoyable. Or you can eat in the restaurant, which is outfitted in yellow and green. I was a little overwhelmed, actually. They do have televisions, which tonight were tuned into telenovellas. read more

It took a while for me to order because the cashier/order taker didn't speak English. Once they found someone who I could kind of speak to I placed my order and waited. 10 minutes later I had some tacos in front of me. They were pretty delicious. Freshly made, with fresh toppings. The place is pretty clean, even for it being 12AM. There were a few other people in there they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'll be back to try some other menu items! read more

I seriously LOVE tacos junior. So good. You can tell it's authentic by the spices they use (bay leaf and others) and salsas. The tripa is my personal fave though they're known for the Al Pastor (as evidenced by the trompo/spinning rack of meat). read more

I've been coming here for many years for their carne asada tacos which I used to say were the absolute best in the area. Tonight I placed a to go order and when I got home the tacos looked completely different and tasted really bad. The meat was cut in large chunks and undercooked and the tortilla was a weird thick brown tortilla as opposed to the previous two thin tortillas. I called and asked if there had been a recent change and they said they no longer cook the asada in the pan, it's on the grill now, and the tortillas are now made from an automatic machine. Additionally, they remodeled the entire interior and took out all the booths. It looks sterile in there now. I am not sure if management changed or something like that but we won't we back. Additionally, the tacos used to be $2.50 and are now $3.65. This is a big disappointment because they used to be our favorite. read more

Fantastic tacos!!! I ordered the steak tacos and the chicken tacos. Both were flavored to perfection! The steak was excellent (not fatty or stringy) and very authentic. I was a bit worried about the authenticity of the chicken tacos when they came with lettuce and tomato, but it was perfect. The staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious! read more

Make sure you keep your receipt, then a few minutes later they will call your order. I opt for Lengua ($1.75) and Tripa Tacos ($1.90). The person who handled my transaction that afternoon, her name is Erica. On my plate, they give me a piece of Lemon Wedge, a couple of slices Radishes, Diced Raw Onions and Cilantro on both of the Tacos I ordered. I think it might be my fault that I squeeze the wedge of Lemon, when I received my order, resulting in "soggy" Tacos. Hmm, I thought you eat Tacos with Lime, than why that Lemon?? I wondered, and whispered to myself. Alongside with my plate, they also give me the Green and Red Salsa. Both the Salsa was just A-OKAY. Nothing stood out, nothing fancy, nothing stellar OR NOTHING WOW me about this establishment. Ok. I was impressed with Tacos Junior for their tasty tacos. I am in serious lust/craving with them for their smothered burritos. Gargantuan in size, you have your choice of al pastor, carne asada, and about 6 other meat choices, shoulder to shoulder with beans, rice and I think cheese, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, then blanketed with molten cheese and your choice of red chile sauce (mild) or green (hot), but I asked for them to mix it up and that seems to be just *perfect*. You *could* conceivably wolf down an entire one if you're ravenous, or just take half home...it makes a killer next-day lunch. *heart heart heart* *eyes people at other table* Hey buddy...you done with your burrito? Park within a stone's throw of a pawn shop, an auto parts store, and a landromat, walk into this fine strip mall dining establishment, and you'll see ugly green and yellow booths (all booths, no tables), a big long backlit menu with pictures above the counter, and a mural along the wall featuring horses, a farm, and a glowing radioactive knight talking to a naked old man (yes, this in the painting). Not only is Tacos Junior authentic in its decor, it's authentic in its food. There are burritos and hamburgers, but there are also more unusual items like sopes, empanadas, and huaraches. Not to mention cream-based Mexican drinks. On the weekend they even have menudo, which I'm going to assume is made with real tripe. I went with some sopes al pastor, which were carved fresh from the meat rotisserie. Not only was it delicious, it was also authentic, right down to the queso fresco on top (see the photo I added). You can bet I'll be back. Next time for the empanadas or maybe some barbacoa. I'll just divert my eyes from the mustard yellow and dark green seating. read more

I didn't watch what the other customers paid, but I best they didn't pay that much. I suspect I got the the "habla solo engles" rate. Flautas were dry, chicken seemed to be prepackaged type. Fajitas certainly offered a generous portion. But the meat was weird. Chicken was bright yellow, steak and shrimp were cooked really hard and blackened, everything was heavily salted. Was not expecting this place to good but I was wrong. I went back 3x in two days. Their sopes al pastor were my favorite. I was also had their tacos with bistec and were amazing. The green salsa was delicious on the food it was tangy and spicy. Their homemade lemonade was so refreshing with the perfect sweetness you will not regret. The only thing odd was asking for a code to use the restroom after purchasing but I guess that's all of Colorado. read more

Wow has it been 5 years? Crap time flies by don't it? This location of Tacos Junior is still one of our go to places in the area and we just had a taco tour (and a fake out taco tour, more in a sec) here and it remains very solid. The crew here rocks! The al pastor here is still one of my favs in town and in the summer the elotes con crema is a must have. My wife thinks the tres leches cake from here is some of the best in town. I planned on taking my bro and his wife and a couple of our friends on a mini taco tour starting here but my bro came up with a very cool idea. My bro's wife's birthday was coming up so he thought we could have a few more people show up and have a surprise birthday party for her here. So the count went from 6 to closer to 30 and when we made the arrangements, the manager was cool with it and we were able to get a tres leche cake for the party here too! I am rating this a 4 based on the space, the cleanliness, and the amazing display of desserts. The tacos I tried were meh, more a 3 rating. Walking in, it felt almost like a museum, as everything was very pretty and themed, and the dessert display made me want to just dive in and try one of everything. However, being the first stop on a 4 stop taco tour, I had to pace myself. There is a nice, large dining area that isn't cramped at all, and the service was friendly. No prices posted on cost for anything. My son and I ordered a parrillada plate and 2 drinks. $60!! The place itself was mediocre. The meat was greasy and reheated, edges of the meat were hard. And the chicken was bright yellow. No MSG there!! I was charged $2.50 extra because I wanted half maize and 1/2 flour tortillas! 2 aguas de limonada $10! And it favored the taste of piss water. I've learned, after a few visits, to try and limit my cravings for this place. This is not because the food isn't good (it's great), nor is it because the restaurant is bad (it's also great), but more because of the fact that it's SO MUCH food every time I go. After yet another meal there, I'm quite certain that I am nearly about to explode. But that's part of the charm...the prices are low for the amount of food you get, and I think it's impossible NOT to be stuffed after a meal at Tacos Junior! The place is always clean, no matter when you go, and the food has always been just right when it comes out. I'm particularly fond of the tacos, empanadas, and I finally tried the enchiladas de polla en salsa roja today and was very pleased. You can really tell that they spend time on the ingredients with the taste explosion in each bite, and there's enough of a variety in terms of choices that everyone should be able to find a good fit for their enjoyment. The staff, I should note, is always nice and friendly, and they greet us with a smile each time, so that's a plus. read more

I'm really picky about Mexican food. I grew up near a small town in Arizona and Mexican food was the primary food when eating out. Quite simply, I grew up on Mexican food and as a result, I am super picky. Flash forward to now. I don't usually write reviews but one night I was doing laundry and Tacos Junior was next door so I went in to grab a quick bean and cheese burrito (which is impossible to duplicate apparently as nothing tastes as good as back in az. Cmon it's bean. Cheese. Tortilla. Anyway!!) I was charged 5.50 per burrito and I was like what? But whatever. They must be great! I get my order and it truly is fantastic. It's so close to the bean burros back home. (Yes bean burro. I didn't know what a burrito was until I moved to Colorado in 1993) I immediately thought "I would 5 star this on Yelp!" But never did. Went back a few times and same thing: awesome burritos. I decide to skip my craving for hamburgers and go to tacos junior for bean burritos. Same price but this burrito is half the size as before and cut into two pieces. Didn't taste the same at all. Tasted like every other Mexican place around here. Disappointed but it wasn't terrible. Just ok. Almost 12 bucks for 2 burritos is wild as hell though. Won't stop going to tacos junior but I won't go there when I get a craving for other food anymore because I might get a good burrito or maybe one of these sad ones. read more
