I had marked this place down as somewhere I wanted to visit for a while, but never find myself in this area as it is pretty out-of-the-way for me. But as luck would have it, today, I drove right by and decided to stop in. I didn't expect a big dining room with two sides, but they had or the giant window into the kitchen that lets you see them pressing the Fresh made corn tortillas. That was a special treat. They were very patient with us as we brought our dog inside and told us as long as he doesn't fart and serve the other customers they had no problem with him being there :) We tried some of the tacos and the Horchata Agua Fresca. Everything was delicious, I originally asked for their recommendation on which tacos to get and he said you can't go wrong, so I opted for one El Pastor one Carne Asada, and one birria taco add cheese. Everything was so good, the perfect balance of flavors and very generous portion - these tacos were stuffed! They also have an awesome salsa and topping bar with tons of options and a serve yourself format with little containers and lids. At $3.50 per taco this is a super reasonable place for a bite and I'll definitely be back anytime I'm near Westminster. read more

The food was tasty. The Horchata was amazing. So creamy and perfectly made. The margarita was overpriced at $15 and was not strong at all.. It tasted like a mango smoothie. read more

Another carry out experience. My husband picked up lunch for us as well as the rest of the office. I had the chile relleno burrito, my favorite. He also picked up barbacoa, carnitas and pollo burritos for the rest of the crew. I asked for salsa verde all around because that is a group favorite. Delish! read more

Never been disappointed with the food or the service here it is just walk up counter. They do call your name out for your food, but you're welcome to eat in dining room and enjoy their fresh salsa bar. Enjoy some cold ones. They do have a happy hour from 12 to 5. It's a very chill place! Accessible parking accessible bathrooms, no stairs...... so if you're ever in the area, stop by and check it out you won't be disappointed Thanks For The Read Until Next Time.... read more

El Taco Veloz is a must if you love a good salsa bar. Hands down one of the best I've had, and their specialty salsa is to die for -- fresh, flavorful, and even has real avocado in it. The food is great, but the fun, lively atmosphere makes it even better. Such a good spot to sit, eat, and hang out. I'll definitely be back just for the salsa. read more

Great horchata. Great tacos and cute interior. Low key counter ordering. Nice quick sit down Mexican feast. Salsa bar is a plus.

Spontaneously came in at night on a Saturday and even though they had some internet issues and we ended up paying in cash, the workers were super friendly and communicated well. I ordered the quesadilla, flan, and both carne asada and lengua tacos. The quesadilla was cheesy and full of flavor, the flan was a delicious dessert (must try!), and the tacos were amazing (though the lengua didn't have that traditional lengua taste I'm used to). Overall, great food and such a welcoming and lively vibe! read more

I was so hungry I didn't take a picture of my tacos!! It was close to midnight, and I'm THRILLED to have discovered that El Taco Veloz is conveniently located for me. It initially felt a litle sketchy parking in the lot out front. Even though they were cleaning up (so I also didn't photograph the interior) I was cheerfully greeted at the register. The person working turned the menu TVs back on for me. I ordered four single tacos (Asada, Pastor, Chicharrone, Lengua) which came with grilled onions. They were so delicious and packed with ingredients. The Pastor and Lengua tacos were my favorite. And their variety of delicious salsas at the salsa bar. New go-to restaurant!! read more

I enjoy seeking authentic Mexican tacos and I loved their freshly prepared tortillas; I would recommend asada over any other meats; the Al Pastor seemed reheated in too much oil, while the Chicharrón still had crunchiness to it. Though the onions were a nice addition, I wish they had been softer... they give off a better flavor. Great selection of fresh salsas, especially salsa de Molcajete. They have adequate Aguas Frescas- limon, fresa, horchata and other drink selections ($$). Calm and clean atmosphere, with reasonable service. Place your order at the register and return your dishes to an assigned area. Restrooms are clean, but the ceiling in women's could use some TLC. $$ read more

The food here tastes great. I recommend eating there over ordering to-go as the food got stale the second time I got it to-go, but that could be because I ordered more than 10 tacos that time. There's also a condiment station with six different sauces and other fillings for your tacos. The price is the same to most other hispanic restaurants that I've been at and the service is pretty average. The place is a lot bigger than I expected and there was a small bar in the corner if someone is interested in that. Overall, a good four. Try this place out. read more

The food is so fresh and delicious! The staff is friendly and we really like the tv shows playing of concerts. The salsas and so flavorful. The agua fresca's are sweet and refreshing. My husband even liked the tres Leches cake. read more

Heard great things about this place on social media. Came on a random Saturday. It's huge. Plenty of tables. Good selection of food including chicken tenders if you have picky kids. Fresh aqua Frescas and a variety of desserts as well. Got a few tacos: lengua, tripe, asada. Good flavors but unfortunately I wasn't blown away. I've had better tacos before that were bigger and faster served. read more

I'm not a denver native, so i don't know the city at all. But this area didn't seem like a good area to be around, especially after dark. However, i was coming down into denver from WY from a roadtrip and wanted to get some mexican food. i ended up getting two burritos, one al pastor and the other barbacoa. Both were good, but on the smaller side. the burritos were on the greasy side, but the flavor of the meat were good. I also got two churros which were actually my favorite item. It has caramel inside and it was nice and crunchy. they have agua fresca and a lot of other items... tacos, tortas, sopes and quesadillas. They also have a nice selection of sauces and mexican style pickled veggies. As for the interior, there are a lot of seats, and a small bar in the back near the bathroom. The bathrooms smelled pretty bad, but were clean. read more

Pay with cash. They accept most credit cards (no Amex) but it's a small business that makes delightful food. I'm here at least once a week because it's just delicious. All of it -- the tacos, the salsas, all of it. Bonus: Get yourself a frozen marg while you wait for your tacos. read more

My favorite place for tacos and burritos! Portion size for price is pretty good. Never had bad service, the cooks are the sweetest. It's self seating and you order at the register but I don't mind that at all. The aguas are AMAZING. Even when I order online they always get it on point. read more

We were in the area and decided to try this place out based on the good Yelp reviews. This place has awesome tacos! They actually have a variety of more unique tacos like tongue, cheek, intestines but we weren't that adventurous. We got the chicken flautas taco plate and a few gorditas. Both had a good amount of meat so i was definitely full. They were both very tasty. I also got the horchata drink and my friend got the bottle of 7Up made with pure cane sugar. Prices very very reasonable. The restaurant has a lot of seating and parking was easy. Great place to go for tacos! read more

Accepts both cash and credit card. Tons of free parking. If you are in the mood for cheap tacos, this place is definitely worth giving a try. We were in the area and wanted to get some tacos. The food appears to be fresh and the orders were made within 5 minutes. Not too bad. Pretty efficient. The tacos were decent. Tons of sauces at the sauce bar and tons of toppings. Nothing but authentic here at El Taco Veloz. located on Federal Blvd in Westminster between Federal Heights and Berkley. Next door to Taco River and across the street from Tacos Y Salsa restaurants. Glad we chose ETV and had a good experience. Street Tacos were my choice with a side of beans. started with house salsa that was super fresh with a lil kick and great flavor. Menu is displayed in Hispanic and English to help your decision making. A Salsa Bar with authentic fresh toppings of your choice to make it real. Beverage choices like old school Coke bottle sodas, Margaritas and Cervases. Busy during mealtimes but worth the short wait. your order is delivered to your table in what was a relaxing quiet atmosphere when we visited. Great experience overall. SYOY read more

Delicious! I ordered the Pastor Plate and it was sooo good. Salty, but hey, I love salt so that was not a problem for me. The homemade tortillas are so incredible. I love a good salsa bar and the one at El Taco Veloz did not disappoint. Plenty of excellent choices and tried many of them. My one complaint is that the salsa containers are much too small! Hubs had a pastor, carnitas, and asada taco and said his favorite was also the pastor. We don't live near here but would certainly drop in again when we are in the area and craving tacos. read more

Thankfully, my fellow Yelpsters pulled through with a solid late night eats recommendation, as we were waiting out a storm on Mt Evans far later than planned & we came down HUNGRY. We were prepared for a line, the order process & salsa bar, again, thanks to the Yelposphere. We walked in shortly after 10pm to about a dozen people in line & the sound of Spanglish being spoken. My husband looked panicked briefly & said he was overwhelmed, before asking me to order for him - ha. We went in planning to get taco plates, but I changed it up since we were famished. We ordered 2 plates: Carne Asada & Al Pastor, plus churros & I also added a coke and horchata - because, ya know ... we needed them. The line moved fast & orders were up pretty quickly as well. The table was sticky but I was too busy sucking down my horchata to care. Suddenly our food was up, tho they forgot the churros, but, so did I until we were heading to the truck & we were plenty full. I didn't go back to point it out. We tried 5 of the offerings from the salsa bar - all were pretty solid. The tortillas were the perfect amount for the food on the plate. I thought both of our meats were a bit heavily salted, tho tender and easily balanced with the cilanto, onion & pepper mix. I scooped my beans and avocado with the chips, polished off the rice & meat - but skipped the lettuce & tomato. I'm thrilled we didn't stop at a drive thru! read more

Great taco shop with alcohol license if you wanted a little adult bev with your dinner. There are many great taco shops this side of town (on Federal and Pecos), but only a couple of them have the options to have beers/margs with your meals. I've had the Caldo de Res (Beef Soup), various Tacos (Tripa Dorada, Buche, Cabeza, Carne Asada, Al Pastor...etc), taquitos, and quesadillas. My must get is typically Tripa Dorada (crispy tripe/intestines) and Carne Asada Tacos. Probably one the few places that has the self serve salsa/toppings bar as well. Great service, great fast food... compared to some of the other local taco shop, the taco size is slightly smaller and a little greasier but hey, that's the point for late night tacos right? read more

Taco Veloz is still my go to taco spot in Colorado. Everything from their tacos to condiment stand to agua fresca is great. Great find for some late night tacos. Maybe because I'm a Cali native the tacos here were sub par. Read the previous reviews and I do agree with the Al pastor, asada, and Buche meats which were all flavorful. The first order of buche was excellent very crispy and tender my first time having it so I was excited to get another but the second was a lot more chewy not sure which it's suppose to be, inconsistent. My husband ordered the asada burrito was on the smaller size, felt like a bean and cheese burrito with a small amount of asada. He had to order another 3 tacos to make up for the size. A little pricey for the amount of taco meat you get. Overall great service, nice people. Quiet ambiance since it was 2am but there was nice Mexican music playing in the background. Clean areas to sit and spacious dining available. read more

Was pretty good! They have a salsa bar with like 10 salsas, which was pretty cool. They're open really late, and that's why I was there because not much else was open. My chicken tacos were pretty good but my husbands bean burrito wasn't The beans tasted like old grease or something I can't quite remember. I've had a chile relleno on a different occasion and I remember it being really good! So I guess it's kind of hit or miss here. It wasn't as clean as you'd hope for. I think it's weird if you go in a restaurant and it smells like cleaner and the grout on the floor is nasty. I'd maybe go back if it was the only place open and I really wanted tacos or something, but it's nothing to brag on. read more

El Taco Veloz looks a bit rough on the outside but inside is so cute! It's beautiful decor and you know the owners take a lot of pride in their business. The Yelp feature on here that says "many vegetarian options" is inaccurate. They don't have any vegetarian options. I read other reviews before coming here and the beans are not vegetarian as they are cooked with bacon. I had to request a modification to the quesadilla to only include veggies and no meat. The gentleman at the counter told me they normally don't made modifications and won't be able to accommodate me again in the future (ouch). Aside from that, the food was so flavorful, reasonably priced, and delicious. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table. They have a whole selection of salsas for you to choose from too. The horchata was also some of the best that I've had! If you have any dietary resections you should probably skip this restaurant. Although if you don't, then it's somewhere I highly recommend. read more

My girlfriend and I have been ordering from El Taco Veloz on the regular, and let's just say, they've got our taco cravings on lock. Now, let's dive into the Gorditas, these are on a whole new level. Imagine biting into a crispy exterior only to be met with an explosion of gooey, melted cheese inside. Yup, it's as heavenly as it sounds. These Gorditas aren't just good; they're unreal. I am lactose intolerant and I still eat them. Oh, and a quick shoutout to their burritos. My girlfriend can't get enough of them. They're loaded, flavorful, and just the right kind of messy. Also, it doesn't hurt to note that the salsas are very good, can't get enough of every salsa they have. The price of everything is pretty reasonable if you ask me, if you are in the area I would recommend giving El Taco Veloz a try read more

I was craving tacos something fierce today and decided to treat myself to some street tacos. El Taco Veloz was pretty good. They came with 4 salsa's which I was quite pleased with. I tried all but the orange (as I'm guessing that was habanero and just not worth the preggo heartburn at the moment) and they were all super flavorful, not much heat though which at the moment I am a ok with. Honestly even when I can handle spice again I probably wouldn't even be that mad because they were pretty tasty. The tacos were pretty good too; my one teensie complaint I guess would be they were a bit greasy but otherwise pretty delish. I got a carne, carnitas, and pastor. And of course I always need a side of rice and beans. All in all I wouldn't def come back. read more
