    Taco

No gastes tu dinero ahí . Observe que la salsa que te sobra la recogen de donde dejas los platos sucios y la vulven a servir a otros clientes es extremadamente anti higienico .. muy sucios usan los mismos guantes para todo .. no volvere.

So many glorious items to choose from!

I really enjoy great tacos done like they are in Mexico. This place does it like they do in Mexico! Tongue, cheeks, brains.. All the glories of the food that is hard to find here in the states is available at this joint! :) Happiness tacos with many choices and a salsa bar that provides a good choice of flavors and heat levels. If your getting that taco urge this is the place to quench it with gusto!

We were re-routed here for the FINAL stop, aka 3rd instead of the 4th coz Tacos Y Salsas was jam packed and some how could not fit us all at one seating so Matt and Doug decide for us to have our Tacos here. I HEART TACOS, The Ultimate Taco Tour. Saturday February 22nd 2014. Arrived at this establishment at about 14:00hrs ish. We went in-line to order our tacos. Man at that hour, this establishment is jam packed, aka packed to the Brim. Hmmm... Yes, the kitchen was INDEED SWAMPED! The wait indeed took F.O.R.E.V.E.R! Was the wait worth, waiting for???.... Hmmm... Hence I am indeed torn about this establishment. From this establishment, I opt to have the following Tacos : * Tripa ($2.00) * Lengua ($2.00) * Cabeza ($2.00) With tax, my Tacos order was $6.51. My order # was Order # 80. Yes, you get all your condiments, such as Lime, Cilantro, Dice Raw Onions, Radishes and Salsas from the Salsas Bar that they have. The lovely lady who also runs the behind the counter and at times even send the food to our table, her name is Luis. While ordering, Luis asked me how I want my Tripa order to be done, I told her "Crunchy". While waiting, I see that one of the Main servers, or staff kept on replenishing the Salsa bar. That is good in my books. I received my order at 14:38hrs ish. I like my order of Tripa the Best at this establishment coz they made it so crunchy, I like it a lot! Hmm, the Cabeza comes as some what shredded meat that I cannot identify. Hmmm, I wonder if they got my order wrong. I whispered silently in my heart. But since I am NOW already more starving, I just ate what I got. As for the Lengua, it was just A-Okay. Maybe due to the "AFTER Lunch Rush", this place gets "overwhelmed" and some orders were mixed up. So definitely ask for your receipt when ordering, and keep that receipt, so the servers can double check aka identify, who ordered what etc etc. I might return again to this establishment and see how it might differ if I were to go with Hubs. Furthermore, I am eyeing the Ice Cream Parlor next door and I am intrigued what they might offer in the future. In conclusion, I think I prefer the Hampden Location better maybe for one, when I was there, it was NOT that Chaotic. Furthermore, the Hampden Location, the dining area is spacious and NOT as cramped, and the parking lot outside is way bigger as compared to this location. For this establishment, overall I rate it as 3.5 stars. El Trompito Taqueria Mexican Grill 1570 W. 70th Ave, Denver, CO 80221 Tel : (720)-540-3483 @37/2014

This place has the best huaraches and horchata I've had! We ordered the egg huarache and added steak with a side of green chili. Amazing!! The restaurant is small but well decorated. We sat outside at their only outside table but we felt comfortable and enjoyed the flowers. The service was great - we ordered at the counter but they brought us all of our food outside, even bringing a second plate since were were sharing. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Denver!

    Chili rellenos - yum!

I stopped in for dinner last week and was very happy with my experience. Everyone was very friendly and my food was very good. My choice was chili rellenos and a strawberry agua fresca. The rellenos were served piping hot and with corn tortillas on the side. I made tacos out of them and added some of their amazing salsa from the bar. The beans were good but not amazing. To go I took a carnitas torta for my husband. He really enjoyed the flavors but thought the meat to bread ratio was a little disproportionate. If we lived closer we would be regulars for sure.

Really like this local taco shop. They have a ton of different options, their Barbacoa is awesome (try the lamb), chicken mole is great, and their horchata is killer. Second time here and I would come for a third.

Ever since moving to Denver, Alma Fonda Fina has been at the top of my restaurant bucket list. I…read morefinally managed to get a reservation (booked exactly 60 days in advance when they opened), and it was absolutely worth the wait. Having that much time before our reservation also meant I got to thoroughly research the menu, which definitely paid off. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's small, intimate, and has a modern aesthetic. There isn't a ton of seating, but that's part of the charm. There's patio seating along the railing outside, bar seating where you can watch the chefs work their magic in the open kitchen, and just a handful of tables inside. Parking is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood, and from what it looked like, most of it is paid. It was just me and a friend, and we shared four dishes, which ended up being the perfect amount of food. We started with the Callo de Hacha al Horno, and these were hands down the best scallops I've ever had. The presentation alone was gorgeous, with the scallops served in their shell, but the flavor completely stole the show. I'm a huge seafood fan, and this dish absolutely delivered. My friend isn't even much of a seafood person, and it was his first time trying scallops and he loved them too. I joked that he may have ruined scallops for himself because it's hard to imagine finding a better version. Next, we each ordered a Taco Campechano, and wow. This was either the best or second-best taco I've ever had. The taco features two different meats with a green salsa on one half and a red salsa on the other, making every bite a little different. Both sides were fantastic, but the green salsa was next level. At around $11, this feels like one of the best values on the menu and is an absolute must-order. Our third dish was the Birria de Borrego, and it was incredible. The lamb shank was so tender that the bone slid right out with almost no effort. It comes with beans, salsa, and house-made blue corn tortillas so you can build your own tacos. Speaking of the tortillas--they deserve their own praise. They were phenomenal, and we honestly joked about asking for an order to take home. Our final dish was the Camote Asado, which I'd seen recommended all over the internet. Maybe I built it up too much in my head because it ended up being the only dish that didn't blow me away. Don't get me wrong, it was still very good. The sweet potato was perfectly cooked, and the fennel whipped requesón was delicious. My only heads-up for future diners is that some bites pack a surprising amount of heat, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. I enjoy spicy food, but it's worth mentioning for those who don't! The service was excellent as well. They take your entire order at the beginning of the meal and then thoughtfully pace each course, which made the whole dining experience feel relaxed and intentional. One thing that really surprised me was the value. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, this was incredibly affordable. We ordered four courses between the two of us, and even after tip, our total was only around $120 (we didn't order cocktails). That's an exceptional value for the quality of food and overall experience! Overall, Alma Fonda Fina completely lived up to the hype. Between the incredible execution, creative flavors, intimate atmosphere, and surprisingly reasonable pricing, this has quickly become one of my all-time favorite restaurants. It's easy to see why reservations are so hard to get, and I'll absolutely be back. Next time, I'm hoping to grab a seat at the chef's counter to watch the team in action while working my way through even more of the menu.

The sweet potato still my favorite dish, but I hand to day the queso funfido from the happy hour menu was a close 2nd. If you go 2-5pm, I can't recommend this enough. You have to get it. Same as my 1st time going, I love this restaurant for their great dishes and flavor profiles. I absolutely feel like I'm paying for the food, and not any atmosphere or showsmenship, which for me is an important factor when recommending a restaurant. Only small detail, we got the ceviche as our 4th dish. Given that is sweet due to the coconut milk, I feel this should have been last as a kind-of desert-like dish. Either way, still an absolute gem and must in town

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar. The bartender was great and made a solid marg ($8 on happy hour). You get a great deal on taco Tuesday but I'm sure you'd get great service and quality any day of the week!

Spend so much time parking and then waiting, at what point do you give up and leave empty handed? Restaurant is VERY LOUD. Finally got a table and ordered OFF MENU. Server agreed to substitute shrimp for my enchiladas and they were good! Fresh corn tortillas were the highlight. Ordered tres leches cake and enjoyed it too.
