    Barbacoa Tacos

I've seen this place a million times when going to concerts in the area, but never made time to go. I'm glad I finally made it here! Taco More is a pretty big restaurant with plenty of tables and wait staff. Our server was very polite and attentive during our meal. We got 4 tacos: 2 barbacoa, 1 carnitas, and 1 quesabirria. All of the tacos were delicious, but my favorite was the quesabirria which was crazy flavorful with tender goat meat. We also split the goat soup. I won't come back without getting the goat soup, that's for sure. The meat was really tender and didn't taste gamey at all. The spice level was perfect as well. We spent $25 for 4 nicely sized tacos and a bowl of goat soup which is honestly less than I expected. I'll be back soon for MORE! :)

Uggggg, looked sooooo good, then they were just average when I munched into them. Taco More is on East Riverside. Absolutely packed with locals, which is a god sign (I'll come back and try some non taco meals). Got a bacon and egg, chorizo and egg, and a marinated pork taco, all on flour tortillas. And that's the problem. Tortillas are a bit too thick and not crisped up enough. Bacon wasn't cooked enough either. As usual, chorizo was the best choice. Pork was fine. A bit dry. Just three stars out of five for me, but this many locals eating here means I'm going to give it another try.

The PERFECT spot after a late night of drinking for breakfast. Hangover remedy is a giant Michelada, tacos, pozole/menudo and a shrimp cocktail. I was so impressed by the shrimp cocktail it was huge and packed with tons of shrimp and flavor. Great pricing too with friendly staff.

I was really craving menudo but didn't know a place in Austin since I am from Dallas. So many people online recommend this restaurant and the pictures looked good to me. I went there on a Sunday and ordered to go and will say they gave it to me in less than 10 minutes despite being crowded. When I got back home I realized that they didn't include hominy so had to run to HEB and buy some. After doing all that I was excited to enjoy my menudo but after a couple bites I couldn't eat any more. It tasted just like straight up black pepper and I even noticed a ton of black pepper all over when I was pouring it out of the container to warm on the stove. It also had a funky after taste during some bites. I've grown up with authentic menudo because I am Mexican and can say this didn't taste like all the other menudo I've had.

Sopa de mariscos: shrimp, calamari, white fish, mussels, imitation krab stick, topped with onion & cilantro.

I came for a solo lunch after a recommendation from a friend, I HAD to try the sopa de mariscos. I went around a lunch (peak) time and received stellar service! They serve a warm green salsa with chips to start, and I was pleasantly surprised by the robust flavor of the salsa sauce! The temperature was different, but not in a bad way at all. The only other thing that I took notice of was that the space could've been tidier - that's something I definitely pay attention to when I go out to eat. It could've been because of the rush, or it could've been how things usually are there; I couldn't tell as it was my first time there. I ordered an agua fresca, limonada flavor and it was perfectly balanced and refreshing! The soup was the absolute bomb and it came with my choice of tortillas on the side, or bread. I opted for the bread and it ended up being a torta roll; the only thing that would've made it better is if the bread was buttered and toasted. I dipped the bread in the broth - yum! The sopa came out piping hot, not lacking any seafood whatsoever, it had a little kick to it but nothing overwhelming. The flavor was so on point that I drank all the broth! The one thing I didn't really care for was the "krab" component of the dish. It was definitely imitation meat, and it tasted too artificial for my liking. I tried a couple of bite sized pieces before I just decided to remove the rest so I could enjoy the remainder of the bowl. I enjoyed my experience overall and will definitely be back!

Menudito para la cruda! El menudo mediano está bastante grande y los tacos de cabeza están y hasta te traen la salsa de molcajete calientita. Todos los que trabajan aquí son muy amables y me da mucho gusto cada vez que vengo. Love getting menudo here. The beef head tacos are real tasty. The salsas are all spicy and have great flavor. I think my favorite thing about Taco More is that every staff member is extremely nice and really makes this place welcoming. This place has been in Austin for such a long time and they're doing it right.

Came here with some friends after a day at the park, I was really hungry so honestly anything would have tasted good. We got takeout and ate it in the parking lot because we had a dog so we could not eat inside. I was pretty unimpressed. I got the potato and egg breakfast taco and the egg and cactus breakfast taco. Both were pretty lackluster in flavor even after pouring sauce on them. My friends enjoyed their meals, apparently the fajitas and tortas are good, but I would not go back for their breakfast tacos.

lol My mom wanted Mexican so we delivered. We chose taco more for her because I have eaten here before and know they have good food to offer. My mom is a tough person to please when it comes to food, so when she ordered the fried fish I was hoping they were on their A game that day lol. She finished her plate which came with rice and beans; she loved every part of it. The fish was a good size and fried perfectly, she liked the rice and beans as well. I had the flauta plate & enjoyed them very much but the beans it came with I wasn't too crazy about. The rice was good. My husband had the carne asada plate, he liked the meat and the rice was ok but could have gone without the beans. We prefer black beans over any of the others, so we hold it at a higher standard lol. They have plenty of seating, parking & a menu selection. I would recommend this spot and they have more than one location. Both serve good food.

The fish had no taste and wasn't seasoned at all. For $15 go somewhere else where the food isn't completely bland.

As I was leaving my hotel I bumped into some coworkers outside and mentioned I was heading here for dinner. A person passing by overheard me and stopped to rave about how they're the best tacos you can get in Texas. The speakeasy feel was awesome and relatively easy to find despite this being my first visit to Austin. I had the carne asada tacos and they were delicious. I also ordered a side of chips and salsa but my weak tastebuds embarassingly couldn't handle the spice. Seating was limited but I was carrying out anyways. Everything was seriously delicious, rich, and flavorful. The meat was juicy and tender, and they were very generous with the portions. If all the seats inside are taken inside the restaurant, you can dine in the bar area or outside in the alley. This taco speakeasy spot is so good, we came back the next day with our friends. I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak. They have a little bar, too, though I did not imbibe this time. Seems like they have a decent selection of agave spirits, and even Campari behind the bar (iykyk).
