I understand that inflation is killing everyone, but today when I ordered a super beef burrito and had only a tablespoon of meat in it, that was just plain greed and being cheap. It is my favorite place for fast food tacos. Cheap and tasty. However, the service and accuracy of orders needs improvement. When ordering a side of guacamole - which costs almost a dollar (.90), it would be nice to actually receive it! Luckily it was a dine-in order and I was able to get it. On a previous order, I took it home only to find one order of Mexi-Fries missing. This past week, I went through the drive-thru and placed my order. I may have missed hearing the gal say to pull to the second window, so I stopped at the first window. The woman there was apparently closing out the till and counting the money. She didn't wave or acknowledge me waiting there. She did look my way a couple of times, but nothing. Finally, the gal at the second window yelled out and got my attention to pull forward. Very poor customer service. Overall, the food is good and the prices are great for fast food. My love of the tacos and mexi-fries overways the service so I will eat there again! read more

So much better than Taco Bell. I agree with some previous reviews that it would dominate Taco Bell if it were a more widely popular chain. It may be a little pricier than Taco Bell but the quality of the food is so much better. There is one coming to Stevens Point soon and I couldn't be happier about it. The food was great, the staff was awesome. I was having a bad day and the young girl that took my order was so friendly. They didn't realize I was the only customer around the corner eating my food having a horrible day, and I could hear the crew in the kitchen working hard working together and having a great time having fun. My food was delicious and quick and when I went to get some fire sauce I heard one of them say they didn't realize that they had customers and I kind of laughed because I had enjoyed listening to them enjoy their job. read more

Order accuracy could be improved, potato olés are always either practically unseasoned to too seasoned to eat. Last time we visited the drive thru about a week ago, the employee asked us to wait a moment, and ten minutes later we decided to head somewhere else. It's an option if we happen to be in a hurry right after picking the kids up from school and don't have time to drive down 8th to another drive through. read more

The food is as marginal. Sometimes it's good other times I get old potato oles or they have waaay too much seasoning. They are frequently out of tea or other sodas. In at least the last 5 years they have not gotten one single order of mine right and I never go through the drive through because of this. One time they got it wrong five times! Taco John's is hands down the best fast food taco joint, and the Rapids location is by far the best one. Maybe I'm biased because this is the TJ I grew up with, but it never seems quite as good in other places. Every time I'm in Rapids, I have to stop by. I have been going to taco johns ever since it's opened. Tonight I bought $38 worth of food. When they were putting the mexirolls in the bag they spilled them. The lady who spilled them said to one of her co-workers, "I spilled the rolls. What should I do?" The co-worker stepped in front of the view of the carryout window...put them back in the tray and into my bag. The lady that spilled them told me after I ask why she gave me the spilled mexirolls that only one spilled. ...so I guess they must get better if you drop them a few times...like cambells soup...mmm. mmm. This place gets a 5 even for a fast food joint. Much better than Taco Bell. Expanded menu, great food, and always hot. Great staff. This location was recently remodeled as well. Large selection of soft drinks as well as very good fresh brewed ice tea. A salsa table with many flavors. Clean restrooms. :) read more

I love Taco John's so they have to fail miserably to get a bad rating from me. I thank my lucky stars that we have one in town, a fixture of food in Rapids since I was a kid. Their longevity (30 years+) says something about their commitment to quality and pricing. As other reviewers have pointed out, I wish they were available in more states. Between the potatoe Ole's and the beef/chicken potatoe burritos I never run out of options for good, fast, cheap mexican food. The TJs here in Rapids is one of the friendliest and has a very fast order to delivery times I've experienced. So if you are looking for great food, nice staff, quick, cheap, and clean restaurants - you've found it. I am glad that we have this wonderful alternative to TB in our town. read more
