The place is busy has a few tables and benches. They offer large slices ready to heat on-site and go. We got the pizza and took it to go. It's a hole-in-the wall but has good character. The pizza was good, crust was very good. Toppings are fresh and good. We both decided it's a good pizza... not a great pizza. That's why it got a four and not a five. read more

We originally were traveling and looking for a pizza place that we could pick up and eat in the car for lunch. We found this place via Yelp and called ahead with our order. We loved the pizza so much we wanted to go back. We go to WI Rapids every 3 months for meetings. We decided to run over to this place for a Saturday night dinner and ordered two pizzas, one to eat in and one for the road the next day. It is only about a 10 mile drive from Mead Hotel in WI Rapids. As we ate in we also tried their specialty Point sodas, Back Cherry Cream And Vanilla Cream that are brewed right in Stevens Point. They were good a d a nice treat. We ordered the steak ranchero pizza to dine on while sitting in the restaurant. It was topped with steak and jalapeños and had delicious gooey cheese. It was just enough of the jalapeños to not make it too spicy. We got the special pizza to go that had onion, mushroom, sausage and pepperoni with their awesome cheese topping. These pizzas are good hot or cold, fresh or Leftovers. They have a large selection of specialty pizzas and you can also purchase pizza by the slice along with sandwiches. This place is not fancy as when buying pizza by the smile it is served on paper plates. Our pizza was served to our table without any eating utensils or napkins/plates. We had grabbed some napkins off the counter and had to ask for paper plates and forked/knives which were plastic. I do t know if that is protocol or if we should of received the plates/utensils when we put our order in. We were there a little after 6 pm on a Saturday evening and it was quiet but started to fill up with people both dining in and pickup shortly after 6:30 p.m. The place is clean and comfortable. Cashier was very rude. I had three separate cards "decline". I had more than enough funds on each card. Cashier was very rude about the situation! And when I questioned her card systems after the third decline she gave me a dirty look and "ensured me" that it was not an issue on their end....one quick call to my bank later, it was an issue on their end. Hello this is the same review I left on TripAdvisor but just in case the owners are slacking, I am rewriting to say that I first off do love the pizza and the atmosphere usually at the Stevens Point location as I am a college student athlete at UWSP. However, I am emailing to complain about a worker who always works the late night/early morning shift on Friday and Saturday nights. He pointed, stared, and laughed at me(male) and my girlfriend while we were eating our food and exchanged a hug and a kiss while on a late night date and it is one of our favorite spots when we get to be together as she is from out of town. I thought this was extremely inappropriate and we were very upset and uncomfortable and left after what was previously a nice time at the establishment. He hid in the back of the kitchen when I stood up to confront him. This individual is a male with a mustache and a goatee and appears to be of Hispanic descent with black hair, and browner skin just to give a description as I think he should get a punishment for his rude behavior. I also have visibly seen him overcharge other customers for a slice of pizza, or give away pizza for free to others(usually female customers). I visited this place as I was in town for a basketball tournament. I was impressed by the previous reviews and thought it was a place I'd like to go for pizza. Yelp did not disappoint me. The place is a small storefront on Main street sandwiched between other storefronts. d a pizza counter with several booths and tables in the main dining area. There is also a small arcade toward the back. The pizza counter has about a dozen different kinds of pizza behind a glass case, kind of like an ice cream shop has several different kinds of ice cream behind a glass case. These pizza slices are huge. The pizzas are 21 inches cut into 8 slices. I was going to order a 14" pizza, but decided to get 2 slices of pica from the counter. They put the 2 slices on a 14" pan to cook. It almost filled the pan. So I think it is a better buy to get pizza by the slice. The pizza was pretty good. The crust was not paper thin, but not thick and doughy. The sauce was light and the toppings were abundant. There was just enough chest to cover the pizza, but not enough to make it greasy. All in all this was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while and will come back if ever in the area again. read more

Stopped in on the way home from a tournament. We were looking for a quick slice. Walked in to ~10 people in line. Line moved quickly. That was great as a baseball team followed us in with over 30 people in the group. That group was processed quickly and made their way to the large picnic style table in the center of the dining area. They have the process down to a science. We chose a slice each of the Hawaiian, Supreme, and Mac N Cheese. The slices were piping hot and delicious. Their garlic knots are also a must try! Amazing pizza!!! I went there with my friend and her child and my two kids. Of course the kids were very hungry and cranky and me and her were trying to get settled. The man behind the cashier offered to bring us a highchair. He also saw that me and my friend were trying to get settled with the kids so he offered to cut the pizza for our children. The fact that Politos is open later than most other restaurants (except South Point) is definetly a plus, though unlike South Point, the food here is actually exceptional! The pizzas are unique, and in my opinion, taste better than the chain pizza joints in the area (Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc), not to forget that the serving slices are huge! In fact, they have some kind of contest to see if any tag teams can finish eating their largest pizzas! My favorite though has to be the plain wings. Simply amazing! Located centrally in the heart of downtown, it is a great place to go to, although it's a bit of a downer that they don't deliver. As a California out of towner, I have to say that Politos is a great pizza joint. Get it by the slice, or by the pie (sizes from s, m, l, and GIANT-- we went GIANT). They also have all the traditional favorites like a meatball sub or chicken parmigiana sandwich as well as endless bottles of Point beer. Ordered a x-large (20") specialty pizza half Chicken Parmigiana and the other half Florentine. The pizza is big and heavy. If you want a lot of pizza with a medium crust I guess this would be ok. I was not impressed at all. The Chicken Parmigiana had small 1/4" cubes, minimum garlic taste and the basil was just the dried kind sprinkled all over. The Florentine had a lot of broccoli stalk pieces cut up in 1/2" cubes, again very little garlic. The tomatoes, spinach and black olives were ok. They cut the pieces in very large slices too hard to handle comfortably. These 2 specialty pies were a let down if you're looking for flavor. If you just want something to fill you up, go for it. read more

We were heading to the north-woods and needed a quick break, The vote was for Pizza and found this great local place that serves slices! We looked over the menu while driving and mapped the location. This is not right off the highway but worth the drive into downtown Stevens Point, I understand why students would want to go to school there. Lots of eating and drinking places small square in town with a water fountain/splash pad to cool off on hot days for the kids. The drive into down town was nice with the tree lined streets and interesting architecture. Back to the pizza, Big open a bit warm but plenty of choices of slices. Don't expect to have the specialty pies on the slice menu and that is my only downside, but still plenty of choices. We had the Mediterranean, Pepperoni, Deluxe(sausage mushroom/cheese and other stuff) and BBQ Chicken. All were tasty and very filling, most likely could have been good with one slice but had two anyway. Price was decent and all of the staff were masked and following covid-19 guidelines. So all in all Great Town, Fantastic Pizza and the next time your driving through its worth the trip!! read more
