Yummy cheese fries and French onion this has been a Stevens point staple since I was a little girl

Tried a new place while in Town called Arbuckles Eatery Glad we did !!! Seated right away the place has a really good Family vibe . R waitress Erin was Great gave us great service and Great advice on some items and we took her up on them and she was right plus this place has the Best Ranch in all of Steven's Point !! Only downfall the wings r really small in size but they do taste really good plus the Meatball pizza is Really good. Must stop for everyone if you're in Steven's Point !! We will come back all the way from Missouri again !! read more

First time in and had the Saturday Prime Rib which was absolutely excellent. So glad I ordered it! It obviously looked great because the lady at the booth next to us said "Is that the Prime Rib? Wow! I'll have that!" Another in our party ordered the haystack burger and I really missed a photo op as it looked so great piled high with homemade French fried onions. She said it was outstanding. Service was speedy, drinks were tasty and prices were super reasonable. Next time in Steven's Point will see me back for sure. Highly recommend. read more

We came here on a Friday because many other places had a long wait and we had a toddler with us. We were promptly sat and our server made sure to get our child's food order in immediately. The service was fantastic for a super busy Friday. The food was solid and drinks were well made. I love Arbuckles so I was excited that friends who are new to town suggested we go. We went between lunch and dinner so we had all the attention--the waitress was almost too kind and came to us too much ;) We got the cheese fries for an app and every time I wish I got my own as my meal. They aren't wildly flavorful but that's what I love about them: they are cheese (lots of cheese) on crust and you dip in a pizza sauce--perfection! The side salad was the typical lettuce/cheese:cucumbers/croutons + your choice of dressing (again, I love this common side salad--makes me happy I get some veggies in knowing I'm eating so many cheese fries). I got a prime rib Philly and it was awesome--it even had mushrooms which I loved! The restaurant was super clean and parking was easy. Can't wait to come back. read more

Had the deep fried ravioli as an appetizer, very deep fried it was. We also had the jambalaya (had it many years ago and was excellent). There was a lot of food...mainly plenty of penne pasta, not so much of peppers, sausage, or chicken. Tap beers were $1 off, but we had to have the waitress redo the bill to get the HH price. The energy and the atmosphere is always great here! Lot of beer on tap and rotating brews, they also have a beer punch card. Service is always quick and there food is delicious! We have tried just about everything on the menu from the pizzas to the sandwiches. Arbuckles is one of our go to great food and drinks. read more

When I order an appetizer I like it to an appetizer instead of brought out with my food. However, I really shouldn't complain as the table next to mine got their appetizer after they go their food. Not that busy, the cook should be able to time the food. Italian fries are always delicious. But because of the timing of food all at once things got cold and we had to take home to reheat. First impressions always count. When we arrived the male hostess seemed like he'd had a horrible day considering how he treated us. He took off and we didn't know we were supposed to follow him. I was so bummed out by our experience here. The last time we were here (pre-COVID, 3 years ago) I remember the food was delicious and interesting and the place was buzzing. When we walked in tonight, at 6pm on a Saturday, it was so dead. The person behind the bar told us to sit wherever while the person I assumed was the hostess and one of three servers were either making TikToks or sending snaps (whatever they were doing, it was super annoying.) Three servers and hardly any tables, but we sat for so long before someone begrudgingly came for our drink order. The drinks and food came quickly, but the food was so lame. My daughter didn't even want to touch the Mac & Cheese. For the side salad, they had literally peeled a carrot on top of a pile of chopped lettuce, but at least the produce was fresh. The bill was nearly $60, which we'd expected to pay before coming, but that was when we thought the food and service would be, you know, good. This was the greasiest CRAP I've ever eaten. Their recommended Italian fries were nothing but dough and cheese. No seasoning. If this is what people in Central WI want then dang. Their mac n cheese was the same. I will never ever EVER eat from this establishment again. I ate the jambalaya pasta which was fantastic! My wife had a mushroom and Swiss burger and my mother in law had a ham and pepperoni sandwich. All were great! The food was hot and the beer was cold. Good selection of beers as well. Small bar so don't plan on sitting there. read more

Arbuckles is 'simply good.' Dining is casual, family friendly and clean. In the summer, you can dine in their outside courtyard. I took the family for their friday night fish. It includes three pieces of cod, coleslaw, and potato (baked or fries). Not only was everyone satisfied, but one of the group declared it the 'best in Stevens Point' and another declared it 'the best fish fry they've ever had'. As an appetizer, we highly recommend their italian cheese fries. Cheese fries (pizza dough with cheese and marinara dipping sauce) are a big deal in central WI and Arbuckles are among the best you'll find in Stevens Point. The outdoor seating area is nice, but the food was only so-so. I had the Pesto Tortellini with Cajun Shrimp. The pesto and pasta had good flavor but it was SWIMMING in oil. The Cajun shrimp was disappointing. The "Cajun" coating for the shrimp was too peppered, while the shrimp themselves were bland. Throwing a lot of pepper on something doesn't make it "Cajun". read more

A couple of buddies and I needed a beer or two and wanted an outdoor beer garden/patio/deck; we remembered Arbuckle's. For a town with a big river and a perfect four-season climate, Stevens Point is woefully short of good outdoor eateries, but Arbuckle's helps fill the void. Good selection of local and other brews -- we all started with a tap wheat beer from the Great Dane -- and a "beer marathon" promotion that we immediately committed to finish. Not sure what we'll eventually get, but we're happy to try to figure it out. We weren't there to eat, but the three of us split an order of onion rings and a small pesto pizza, which Arbuckle's happily redid with spinach at our requested (for broccoli -- what's up with that?). We needed a vegetarian option for sharing and the pizza fit nicely. The talk kept me from paying much attention to the food, but I liked the pizza and loved the outdoor environment and beer selection. My second trip to Arbuckle's in six years here, but I remember a decent experience before and will be going back more often to enjoy the patio and an occasional indoor meal. Not a bad little place at all. The atmosphere is great and the staff likes to tell you stories if you ask them, or if you want to be left alone, they are very accommodating. The place is decorated very well and is just a "fun" place to dine. If it is your first time dining at arbuckles you HAVE to get the pizza fries. In a town (as well as the whole darn state) in which evvvvvery place has some form of cheese fries, they make some of the best. They aren't thick and doughy, they aren't thin and cheese-less, they do it just right. And for the record, a half order will feed two. I ordered The Jack Burger and I was satisfied with the amount of bacon AND the fact that it was crispy. Lots of places have a tendency to skimp on the bacon and make it too chewy and soggy. This annoys the living daylights out of me because when you bite into the burger you pull the bacon out with every bite because it isn't crispy! BUT this wasn't the case at all. I like my burger done medium, and they cooked it perfectly. If you want it a little pinker, I'm pretty sure that could be accomplished. The bun was also toasted to perfection. An overly soft bun makes me think that I'm eating a Sammich and not a burger. An overly toasted bun makes me think that I'm eating toast (which makes me feel like I'm eating breakfast). The burger also had a slight flame broiled taste, which was interestingly tasty! This burger alone gets 4.5 out 5 stars. They have a marathon of beers club! You get a punch card with 26 different beers, once a card is completed you get a free shirt. For every card you complete you get a different reward. It's kind of a cool way to keep you coming back every once and a while. We suggested to the bartender that they do a pirate themed card and use different rum drinks and call it the "arrrrrbuckles pirate's rum captain's wheel." She just laughed, but the group liked the idea. You can only consume 5 beers on the card per day, that way they aren't emphasizing and supporting binge drinking. Expect more reviews on Arbuckles with different foods, I feel that I've found a little downtown treasure. read more

The Husband and I stopped here while holiday shopping downtown. All of his co-workers raved about the cheese fries. The waitress seated us right away. She took our order and said it would take 15 minutes. She didn't offer to bring us anything to drink. We had to flag her down to get a glass of water. When the fries got to our table, I was waiting with a bottle of Spotted Cow. My first bite, the melted cheese stretched ever so far. I was disappointed that it was on the salty side. I drowned it in marinara sauce and that's how I was able to tackle it. I preferred Portesi's. The menu didn't interest me; they offered hamburgers, pizza, and simple appetizers but it won't stop me from visiting when I'm in the mood to chillax after a rough day at work or shopping. read more

We try to stop here every time we come to Point. Need our Italian Fries with Cheese fix. Order an extra sauce. Took mom with us. She enjoyed the hot beef. Coming from Chicago I know my pizza...thin crust was well baked with a thin yet fulfilling feel. Many toppings to choose from to build yourself a castle of cheese and sauce, haven't eaten anything but pizza here though. Honestly...not the best food or service of my life. They serve pretty basic food and the service is definitely hit or miss. In fact on my first visit I had what my family kindly refers to the "soda shower" ......a tray of 5 glasses of soda came raining down on me and my purse....our server simply said sorry and moved on ......thankfully another server came to my rescue and brought supplies to help clean up. Sometimes it can take awhile to get your food. But everything is sufficient...its not lacking just kind of average. read more

Once again, Arbuckle's impresses. This service was exceptional and the food was spot on. Took my folks there and it appealed to their picky palette. Our waitress was very nice, unfortunately the issue was with the woman in charge at the time. We wanted to get the pizza that was on special that day but wanted to swap out one of the toppings to add the specialty sausage instead and pay whatever the upcharge was to have that topping (I believe it was around $1.50/$2)... the waitress said that was fine and so that is what we ordered. The pizza was great! We got the bill and the special was no where on there and each topping was priced individually meaning that we didn't get the special price with the upcharge... We pointed that out to the waitress and she brought the manager over... She was so incredibly rude, blaming us for the mistake that was made (not by us), and refused to do anything about it. The 1 Star is being given because of the way the manager reacted/ treated us was bizarre and unprofessional, especially since we were being very polite about it. She claimed there was nothing she could do but every place has a discount button or she could have taken a drink off the ticket. As someone who has been in the restaurant business for 10 years, I just couldn't believe her way of "managing" this business. You apologize and go over guidelines with your waitstaff so they know what they can do or can not do. You do not raise your voice with your customers. read more

Food was good (burger and fries). I had ordered onions on my burger (which I do whenever I get one). Upon receiving the bill, I noticed the total was more than it should've been. I asked why and the server said because I ordered onions. I said I've NEVER been charged for onions any time I order them. And, it's customary to let the customer know if there is a charge for onions upon ordering. I said the price wasn't on the menu and I should've been told. But, to no avail. I don't think I"ll be going back....I'm surprised they didn't charge for napkins! read more
