Stopped for dinner they were short handed waitress, bartender & kitchen help came and took our drink and food order within our first 10 minutes. . It was over an hour and I went to ask how much longer for the Calzones we ordered. Snippy reply was 5 minutes. Then I watched them put our calzones in the oven. 10 minutes later our food came out. I cannot rate the food- never got the chance to order. We stopped on a Sunday evening, 6:00 pm , first time at this restaurant. The bartender/ waitress was rude, told us to sit wherever. The only seating was at the bar, we requested a table and she told us to sit in the basement dining area and she would be there shortly to take our order. About 2O minutes later, no service. We walked back up to ask and only response was , oh, I can take those menus if you don't want to order.No apology or anything for ignoring us as customers. Also, there was a horrible musty and old smell in the basement which was a complete appetite killer- I do not know how they are even allowed to serve food in this old building. We love this place! A small pizza parlor in the heart of Nekoosa Wisconsin. At one time the building was a Library and City Hall was in the basement. Now it's a great place to meet friends and family. They even have a lower level that is available for parties too! The pizza's come in sizes from 12" to 16" and the toppings are many. There are six tables in the dining room and a large bar. Don't be put off if you have to wait for a table, it's well worth the wait. Dan the owner can be found waiting tables, making pizza and is a wealth of information about Nekoosa and the history of the building Goodfella's is in. If you like Italian food this is awesome place to check out. The staff were friendly and this restaurant is located In Nekoosa's original library and city hall building. The home made lasagna was fantastic and the garlic bread was on point. Would highly recommend! My son ordered the 8" sausage pizza and he loved it!! Perfectly cooked, delicious crust sauce and sausage. The side salad had homemade garlic croutons which made the salad, like bits of delicious garlic bread on your salad. Priced very reasonably and you can tell the food is fresh. The building is old, but it is what makes it a unique place to have dinner. There are only 5 or 6 tables and plenty of bar seating. You seat yourself. Lots of people with carry out orders while we were eating. Come early if you want to get a table! read more

Stopped here while on vacation. The pizza is excellent. We hit a monday night pizza deal and it was great. A bit noisy , but then it is a pub too! Street parking and only concern is the stairs to get to bar level, which is about a half story above street level. Not sure if there is handicapped entrance. The pizza was good but one of the waitresses was being disrespectful when taking our order and also she messed up my aunts order.

This is first-rate pizza, PERIOD -- no qualifiers such as "for a place on the fringes of Beaver Balls Township Wisconsin" necessary or warranted. This stuff holds its own against Chicago's most venerated names in pizza -- I dare say, even better than a few. Flavorful, tangy, perfectly cooked with ingredients in perfect ratio with each other, right out to the edge of the cracker-crisp thin crust. And when you get your bill, you'll probably do a double-take to make sure they didn't accidently undercharge you. Owner Dan (on a side note, also the mayor of Nekoosa) is a personable chap while waitress Kayleigh -- whom I'm about 97% sure is owner Dan's daughter -- is an absolute gem. If you're in the middle of Wisconsin and craving a great pie, this place is worth going out of your way for. read more

Stopped in last night for the first time. We live in Rome so not too far away. Glad we decided to try it. My wife and I had pizza and honestly some of the best pizza that we have had in the area! Service was excellent and could see them hand tossing the pizza dough. The interior can use a little updating but, hey it's a old historic building and we came to eat not sleep there right?! Very friendly staff and didn't seem to have a shortage of staff which is unusual these days. Will definitely be back and worth the drive for pick up too! read more

First time trying. Went to the restaurant to order takeout. Friendly staff. Atmosphere ok. Food was really good and worth the wait. Two things that prevented me from a five star evaluation: I waited almost a full hour for my food - not a big deal as I wasn't in a hurry, but still; and as you can see what's going on back in the kitchen, I was afforded the view of a cook coughing into his ungloved hand and then continued on with his duties without washing. I think he was done prepping my order? I'm going to believe that any way. I'll go back - want to try the pizza. read more

UPDATE - I Received a call from the owner and he said that he would address our concerns. We did go back on Oct 10th and the service was great! Friendly and this time we didn't feel like just the locals were attended to. Pizza was very delicious with a good amount of toppings. Definitely will be bringing friends with us next time. Picked up our order 5:15 pm Aug 27th 2018 This is what our pizza looked like in the box.when I called to report this,they handed off the phone 3x Then came up with the excuse "the small piece of Pizza was burnt so we didn't think it would matter so we just cut that piece out. Thought we would be happy that they cut that small piece off. The right thing to do was to make another pizza to replace their mess up. They wanted to compensate us for one small piece. Really good pizza! When we got to the restaurant there were no cars there. Not a good first sign but we went in anyway. The inside has kind of a dive feel to it but very clean. The food was really good and the service is great. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back again. read more

I grew up in NYC, and lived in Chicago for 4 years. So I know good Italian food. Goodfella's has amazingly good Calzones, pizza and sandwhiches. I just had a Calzone and a salad. The salad had any 5 ingredients I wanted and was $3.95. I had chicken, tomatoes, pepperocinos, mushrooms and green olives on a tossed salad. Add 2 Sierra Nevada Pale Ales, I'm in Heaven. I have lived here for 25 years and when Goodfellas opened we were thrilled. However, in the last six months, we have seen a decline in service. Particularly in the calzones; we eat there once a week and here is the rundown of the orders; They come with a couple of pepperoncini; we always asked for extras...for years. Not a problem. 7/17- Calzones very undercooked- we requested extra sauce...received no sauce/no pepperoncinis. - Ordered two Goodfella's specials... got three. The third item ordered was not a special. - Was told they would be ready for pickup 45 minutes from the call- got there had to wait another 25 minutes. 8/17- Requested extra pepperoncinis --- they cooked them with extra pepperoncini INSIDE THE CALZONE. - Ordered with family from out of town- one visitor found a hair inside their calzone. 9/17 Ordered two calzones- waitress asked if these were regular or jr. They were regular. We picked up the order...got home and we had one regular and one jr. The jr had a total of 2 pieces of sausage in it. TWO. The order was sausage/mushroom/onion... the jr was undercooked...could see raw dough on the inside. And we did not get our extra pepperoncinis on the side as requested. I think we are done with Goodfellas. Dan needs to get back in the kitchen or leave deliveries up to someone else. read more

Tried this place one time. Called my order in, and then went to pick it up. When I got there, they hadn't even started it yet. Even though I called it in a half hour before I came there. So I waited for an additional 45 minutes, to get a pizza that was way under cooked. The dough was still raw. The Buffalo wings had no flavor at all. Bad service, bad sauce, good thin crust, and fantastic double crust pizza. Definitely a mixed review. I've been here one time so keep that in mind, I am not trying to nitpick, just trying to accurately recount our experience. Maybe it was a bad night, maybe people were sick, maybe the party downstairs was really really big but for whatever reason we received very poor service. We were told to seat ourselves and sat for a good 10 minutes before we saw anyone, then another wait for our drinks to come back, then a long wait for our appetizers to arrive then what seemed like an eternity for the pizza after we had to order for ourselves at the bar. Drinks are empty, it's been a really long time, this = me walking to the bar and standing there with 4 empty cups, smiling and trying to exude patience while hoping to make eye contact with the server, this happened twice. I also got to stand at the bar to put in our pizza order as we hadn't seen anyone in a long time, our kids had been waiting for a half hour already and there was still no sign of our garlic bread. The dirty look I got each time I had to stand at the bar was just icing on the cake. The waiting was really no big deal in the grand scheme of things and having to fetch your own drinks and put in your own order isn't going to kill anyone either but I really could have done without the looks of annoyance from the staff when they left us sitting in the corner with no service. The third time the bartender actually said in a loud voice to some of the other customers "excuse me, I'll have to take his order before I can get your drinks" Nice touch, she must have known that the other server wouldn't be back anytime soon. It was over an hour and a half from the time we walked in until we got my credit card back. Had it been just my wife and I or if it were not a school night I would have just waited at our table but Dads have responsibilities and those kids need their sleep. The garlic bread was OK, not bad but I wouldn't order it again as it was kind of dry and the sauce was really bitter and acidic tasting; seemed to be just canned tomato sauce with some dried oregano added. The kids had a cheese pizza, it was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of cheese on a delicious thin crust. Thankfully the lackluster sauce wasn't noticeable, it didn't help but it didn't ruin the pizza either. My wife had a combination pizza, again really good toppings, cooked perfectly, yummy crust, bad sauce. Overall the regular thin crust pizzas were pretty good. I had the double crust pizza (think stuffed crust) and WOW, I could eat this every day of the week. There is almost no sauce in the pizza, they serve it on the side so you can safely ignore it. What's not to love, two delicious crusts and 4 of your favorite toppings. I had sausage, pepperoni, onion, and provolone. It was oozing cheese and was absolutely GREAT. I doubt the family will be back because Romano's pizza is all around better but I would definitely make it back on a guy's night out for another double crust or a calzone. read more

The food was great but the service was absolutely terrible. Every time i go the older waitress purposely has ignored me and given me attitude. When she gave me my changes she just threw it on the bar and my change went everywhere and her response was to smirk and lool away. I have never been so pissed off from being mistreated by a waitress with a personal vendetta, extremely rude and unprofessional. She shound NOT be working in customer service. As well as a cook with longer hair is always screaming and yelling which makes the experince unpleasent to say the least. Id recommend better employees but keep the recipes. read more
