There aren't a ton of place out here to eat at night so I've tried this location a few times. Sadly, it's horrible! I will say, the host and wait staff are friendly, but it ends there for me. My friend and I went in here not more than a week ago and he ordered the sampler platter, I ordered a burger. They brought his food out within 30 mins and I was still waiting. By the time I saw my waiter again and asked for my food he had already finished eating. Then on another occasion all of our food was cold and not fully cooked. The wait time and quality of the food isn't worth a visit. read more

I have always had great service at Applebees in Wisconsin Rapids even when they are under staffed. Tonight I waited 15 min for a server another 15 minutes for a drinks then another 15 minutes for our order to be taken. Our server was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. He had 3 tables one that was leaving, us, and another table that sat down after us. They got their drinks faster than we did and even some before we did. I used to be a waitress at an Applebees and a trainer and the rudeness of this server was uncalled for. If you cannot handle your tables ask for help. I was not impressed, do better! read more

It is NOT that difficult to make sure an order is correct. A salad. I ordered a salad, car side pick up and there was NO DRESSING. Called in to request a refund as I live a ways away to go back and get the freaking dressing THEY FORGOT. Called in and asked to speak to them manager and then after all that she hung up on me!!! it's absolute BS that there restaurants get away with this crap and get to charge a ridiculous amount for crap food. My wife and I walked in tonight at 4:28 p.m. only ONE other table had customers. There 4-5 workers sitting/standing around a table. We were seated, given menus and the service stopped. Literally. Nobody came over to take a drink order or for anything. We waited ten minutes and walked about and nobody even lifted a finger. This is not the first time we've been in there with crap service but it will be the last time. It's sad because Applebee's used to be an OK place to go for dinner that wasn't fancy and used to not be super expensive. read more

My disabled husband and I met my 90-year-old mother and my brother at Applebee's for the all-you-can-eat riblets at 5:00 PM. All four of us are senior citizens, 2 of whom use a cane and a walker. We were seated quickly, but it took about 20 minutes before we could place our drink order. When the drinks finally arrived another 20 minutes later, they only brought three out of the four. My brother had to wait an additional 10 minutes for his drink, which was identical to my mom's. When his drink finally arrived, we placed our food order, only to be informed 10 minutes later that they were out of riblets. The restaurant was nearly empty, but they claimed they had a lot of online orders (at 5:00 PM on a Saturday). Apparently their focus is more on online orders and less on dining room customers. We received our appetizers around 6:00 PM, and they blamed the delay on a shift change. Later, we learned that they only had one cook on staff--on a Saturday night! What kind of restaurant has a shift change between 5:00 and 6:00? By 6:30, after an hour and a half of waiting, our meals finally arrived. Unfortunately, the steak I ordered medium was served extremely well done. The waitress offered to have it remade, and I agreed, preferring it cooked as I had requested. Meanwhile, the rest of our party began eating while I waited. My husband's chicken tenders were very tiny. The bun on my mom's bacon cheeseburger was dry and hard, not fresh at all. When my corrected meal finally arrived, everyone else had nearly finished eating. I decided to have the steak boxed to go (and ended up microwaving it after our 45-minute drive home... I finally got to eat my meal at 8:30 PM--three and a half hours after arriving at Applebee's)! The waitress said she'd ask the manager about deducting something from our bill due to the delays and the overcooked steak. When the bill arrived, nothing had been deducted. After I pointed out the issues with our experience, the waitress said the manager refused to deduct anything because they had to redo my meal. I explained it wasn't my fault they didn't cook my steak correctly in the first place. Eventually, they deducted a mere $5 from my bill. If I could give zero stars, I would. For some godforsaken reason every once in a while I get a BAD craving for Applebee's, and unfortunately I am always sorely disappointed. Been to this location thrice now and I can say for certain it wasn't just a fluke... the food is so bland. I probably shouldn't really expect much out of Applebee's anyway but each time I'm genuinely surprised and disappointed that it wasn't what I had been craving at all. Last time I went I got the steak which was flavorless and well-done despite my request for a rare one (maybe for the better)... mac and cheese just tasted like straight salt and the expensive flavored lemonade was suspiciously Crystal Light-esque. I will say though that service is always above average, the servers work their butts off with a smile despite always being understaffed. I appreciate everything they do. I suppose the real reason to go to Applebee's is for the cheap drinks, but as an underage Mormon I can't speak to that - I will enjoy my Crystal Light beverages in the comfort of my own home. read more

I have never seen any place like this. Appitizers came out burnt. Food 1 and a half hour wait for the whole table to get served. One plate at a time came out then ten min later a nother one then 15 min later another and 10 min for the last one. Mind you no soup was served untill the food got there then one order was completly wrong. Worst service I ever had here... first off besides the fact that it is so cold inside there i felt like I needed to wear my winter gear inside to eat, only god knows who our waiter/waitress was supposed to be. Our table was super sticky and needed to be cleaned and The only one who came to our table more than once was the bartender. Took at least 15 minutes before we could even put our order in because no one wanted to come take our orders, after we ordered our drinks. If we hadn't ordered alcoholic beverages, who knows how much longer it would have taken to order our food.... I still tipped because I am nice but I really did not want to. Placed an order online, no mention that they didn't do delivery or that my order would be delivered through Door Dash. My phone took an hour and was cold when it was delivered. It was delivered without napkins or silverware and all of my sauces and drinks were not included. I called and they told me they would give me a $10 in-store credit, which didn't even cover the cost of what I was missing. I asked if my drinks could be delivered and was told that I would need to contact Door Dash. Door Dash told me I needed to contact Applebee's Then Applebee's told me they would prepare my drinks if I wanted to come get them... After I spent $12 on delivery. Ridiculous. Terrible experience. We waited for our food for over an hour and we were not checked on one time. Eventually our waitress did come over to tell us that she forgot to put our order in. The food was not great and then when asking where to pay we got an extremely rude response. When going up to pay she charged us way more than what the bill was for and ultimately told us that it could not be put back on the card. We argued for half and hour before they were finally able to refund us. Overall the service was terrible. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I went with 8 of my friends and we all got an appetizer and a drink. It took over 2 hours for us to get our food, and it was all dry. When given our drinks, we didn't get straws. One of my friends asked "Josh" for ranch and he squatted down and said no. He never got it to us. It took an hour then for us to even get our checks. The waitress Jessica told us to "sort out our own bills" My friend told us that Jessica was trying to pocket her change. West Coast to the Mid West, you can't go wrong with Applebee's. Consistent menu and food made this a safe choice when moving back to Wisconsin. We were not disappointed...and actually impressed by the local Applebee's. The food menu is standard from one Applebee's to the next - but the chain itself changes it up. What really stands out is the service and preparation. This Applebee's, although usually not busy, offers great service and solid food preparation. The staff has always been very friendly. We have enjoyed talking with the bartender on occasion as well which you don't often do in these chain style restaurants. Service with the current "All You Can Eat" riblets special is a bit slow from the kitchen. Advice: Order the next plate when they bring you the first one! read more

If I could give thiis Applebees 0 stars I would. We have lived up in the area for about a year and a half now and when we first moved here and went to this Applebee's, the food and service were pretty good. We have gone there 3 times now in the past 6 months or so and it has gotten progressively worse with last night being the worst (from a food side). Our server was very good but we would have expected the manager to come out and talk with us after the problems that we encoutered with our food. My wife ordered a steak medium well and it came out rare with the blood all over the plate. We asked them to put the steak on for longer and when they brought it back out it was......rare again! They did take it off the bill but again the manager never came out to talk to us at all which was very disappointing. I ordered the burbon street chicken and shrimp. The skillet came out steaming hot but the shrimp was cold as were the potatoes. I had actually written this place off after the last time we went there because that time the service was not acceptable nor was the food but I wanted to give it one last chance. Unfortunatley, they have lost 2 more customers. We will never go back to this Applebees. read more

I was in Wisconsin Rapids recently and had a VERY disappointing experience. We had been up since 3 a.m., traveled much of the day, and arrived in town tired and hungry on a Friday evening. Most restaurants in town were busy, but Applebees only had a 20 minute wait for curbside pickup. Great! We placed our order online, arrived at the restaurant on time, and waited...an additional 15+ minutes. At this point, we're already a little irritated because we would have ordered from a better restaurant if we'd known Applebees wouldn't deliver on its promised time. Finally, the food was brought out. The server handed us a bag that was sealed tight so we couldn't easily check the food, but our name was on it and when she read the receipt, the contents were correct. We got back to where we were staying, opened the bag, and...EVERYTHING was wrong. We ordered steak and pasta, but they gave us some Asian stuff and salads. Nothing that was remotely palatable. We called the restaurant to get a refund, figuring we'd just go through the drive-thru at the fast food place right by where we were staying and head to bed after a long day. Nope. Not that simple. Applebees doesn't do refunds for online orders, and they ONLY offer store credit to the local restaurant. Being from out of town, this just wouldn't work for us. So, we had no choice but to wait even longer and then head back across town to the restaurant. When we finally did get the correct food, it wasn't good. The steak wasn't cooked to the right temperature, the pasta was rubbery, and the sauce was really watery. Super gross. Will not be back next time we're in town. read more

Let me say that the food was good, which is not always the case. It's never consistent. Every Applebees seems to keep changing it's menu every time we come here (which is about once a month) and it seems to be all over the place. I had the mozzarella sticks, cooked perfectly, marinara was great. Then had a grilled chicken breast, garlic mashed, and steamed broccoli with added shredded cheese. It was cooked perfect. Service was good, the food came out a bit slow for how slow they were but it was worth it. It's my friends "go to" place and I don't mind when the food is good. read more

This place has mold the bathrooms are disgusting they don't clean them. Workers harass the females saying comments that shouldn't be said. everybody is always yelling at each other. The food can be sloppy sometimes. They allow workers to take samples of drinks, ON SHIFT. Managers don't handle the problem that we come to them about. Not your typical Applebee's as the staff here was very impressive and the place itself was very clean. Some co-workers and I had a toast to a fallen comrade of ours and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Overall, they made our experience there excellent. We have given the Wisconsin Rapids Applebee's several chances since my original review. I believe they had changed management at some point after that review, and things seemed to be getting better. However, my wife and I visited on July 31st, and although the food came more quickly than it usually does, our waitress barely acknowledged that we were finished, and stood and talked to another table of customers for what seemed like an eternity while we were waiting for our check. And we were going to go again this evening (August 7th), but there was no one at the door waiting to seat us, and even though two employees at the bar (and at least one waitperson) saw us standing there, no one made any effort to acknowledge us or assure us that someone would be coming to show us to a table. Consequently, we left. There was another party behind us, and I'm not sure how long they ended up waiting. It's hard to find good waitstaff anymore. read more

Tonight was a complete let down. We went there and there must have been 4 tables besides us. It took 25 minutes before we actually got our drinks ordered another 15 minutes before we got our drinks. We waited almost an hour before our food came out.... but when it did it was cold! I mean the plate was warm but the food kids pizza and fries were cold. It was clear Our " waitress" didn't care. As someone who has experience in the restaurant field. They should shut there doors instead of making there customers wait for over an hour and especially when the customers are waiting patiently the food should qt least be hot and right! I was at Applebee's in Wisconsin Rapids and one of the waitresses/bartenders named Skie was screaming at me, swearing at me, and threatening me in front of the entire restaurant. Both staff and customers tried to tell her she needed to stop being disrespectful and she refused and continued being rude. This isn't the first time this scenario occurred with her and it definitely makes customers not want to come back. Being a friend with the rest of staff it's unfortunate watching them be treated badly as well. I come in to enjoy their company and when she creates a negative environment it's hard for us to be able to enjoy the positive atmosphere that they create. As a customer who comes here on a regular basis, I really don't want to continue to be screamed at, sworn at, and threatened. The other staff and myself like to be able to enjoy our awesome evening together and that's interrupted and interfered with when she's working. I would hate for them to lose clientele over it because the great staff there deserves the business that comes in to visit them. I would hate to see good staff leave or be screwed over because of someone's disrespect and bad attitude. The amazing staff here doesn't deserve the negativity that she brings. We want to enjoy our happy environment again without having to deal with the unnecessary drama. I don't want to see their job impacted in a negative way because of her. I don't want to see them suffer of struggle because of it. I love the wonderful staff here and they impact and influence my life in such a positive way and I don't know what I'd do without them. They are such incredible people and I want them to continue to be successful and achieve every goal they are working towards without being weighed down by negativity. I want them to be able to work in an environment that isn't toxic because they mean so much to me and I want them to accomplish everything they want to in life without the added negative energy. They deserve so much better out of a coworker and friend that she adds hostility, anger, violence, and frustration to. Let's create a great environment again. Everyone deserves a positive, peaceful, and happy work environment because they are great people. read more

I took my daughter and two grandchildren to this Applebee's tonight for dinner. The order was chicken tortilla with rice and baked potato, large Caesar salad with chicken, corn dog and fries and pizza and fries. Sodas also ordered. Even though the restaurant had only 7-8 tables occupied and 5:00pm, the delivery of our food took approx. 25 minutes. Not overly long but long enough when you drink your sodas and the server has not come back to check on the table. Also, when the food came to the table, the salad had no dressing on top or on the side and had to be asked for, the baked potato had no butter or sour cream and one of the fries was forgotten until asked for. Drinks were replenished but the server gave me water instead of my soda and that was the last we saw of her until she dropped the bill off. Besides the large amount of flies around our booth ( we counted 8 separate flies) the carpet was littered with food and bits of paper under the tables around us and under ours. Maybe a remedial training session should be performed by the manager or maybe the manager should be present to randomly check on the guests. The manager, Marcus, called me & apologized for the disappointing quality of the ribs I ordered for take out. He offered to send me a gift certificate to use whenever I wish. I was encouraged that he took the time to call me. He was professional and made a good impression. There are few places that I will not recommend, but of those few places, Applebee's of Wisconsin Rapids heads that list. Went there this evening with family. Placed our drink orders. Server took our orders. Not exceptionally busy, but it was a wait for the appetizers. Between the appetizers and being served our food, we waited over 35 minutes. (One member of the party timed this). Good arrived cold. You could tell it had been sitting under the warming lamps "dying in the window". Nothing over room temperature, which is not only disappointing, but violates health codes. Cheese had melted, and resolidified. Couldn't even get through the croutons on the French onion soup, because everything was cold. Did I mention that others had been seated after us, but served much earlier? The excuse from the manager was that there was a lot of confusion in the kitchen tonight. Same excuse given in the past. And where was our server to check on her order, you ask? She seemed oblivious to the whole thing. If you have read this far, take my advise; Spend your money elsewhere. You deserve a good meal. This place won't deliver that. We ordered car side to go tonight and what was found in my daughters food was profoundly inexcusable. As she was eating she spit out her food and there was a large piece of broken ceramic appearing to be from a broken bowl or plate. More pieces were found and shards of broken pieces all over. Being that we just celebrated Halloween and inspected our kids candy we didn't think we'd have to inspect their dinner! Applebee's can be assured their food will never be trusted by us or our family and friends ever again. read more
