Birria Ramen is full of meat & noodles. The cilantro, onion, and lime were on the side. The temperature was piping hot!

Wait... Taco Exxpress has been here for how long and I am finally trying a piece of Heaven? What's wrong with me? Located in Rocklin on Granite & Rocklin Drive, Taco Express stands out with its brought colors. The send most notable thing was the drive-thru. As you pull in and go through the parking lot, closest to the corner is the beginning of the drive-thru. There is a menu with many many options. Since it was the weekend, menudo and pozole are available. I couldn't tell if there was seating inside but there is definitely seating outside! Jenita was craving a taco salad with carnitas. I didn't see it on the menu (it could've been there, I was rushing through and my eyes may not have caught it). They put refried beans in it as she wanted, along with sour cream, guacamole, and melted cheese in a crispy flour tortilla. She also got a jamica augua fresca. I decided to go with the birria ramen. Lovely consummé, filled with ramen noodles and lots of beef. You can't rush delicious food, so there was a little bit of a wait. The man at the window was polite and worked fast! Great customer service! When we got back to Jenita's, I set her up with her taco salad. I sat next to her and we ate out of our Styrofoam containers. By the time we got back, set her up, and took my pictures, about 20 minutes had gone by since we got our food and my birria ramen was still too hot too eat, but that was a great thing! They serve piping hot food!!! Jenita said her taco salad with carnitas was delicious. My birria ramen was so good! So good, that I wanted to go back and get more food, but I'm going to be patient and look forward to my next visit!

Ive been a patron of this location for about 3 years. Ive only had one other issue besides the one that I am writing about today, and that was about a year ago I ordered grilled chicken on my food and it was raw. But THIS..this experience is the thing that will prevent me from ever visiting this location or potentially any location again. I ordered Loaded fries with grilled chicken and when I turned the light on and saw my food, the fries were literally grey! It was dreadful. Not only did the few bites I ate cause me to throw up continuously that night, I was sick for days afterwards and had to go to the ER to get IV fluids and anti nausea meds. Experiences like this are why I have a strict "no take-out in the dark" policy because imagine if I kept eating before turning the light on . I literally could have died. Potatoes leak a poison called solanine that is so toxic it will kill you in large quantities. Something has gone very wrong at this place so I won't ever be back.

No extra cheese no extra tomato no soda I had to eat my lunch with no drink. I should've checked. It's my fault, ‍

It never fails every time I go to this place the communication is terrible. I guess I always ask for extra cheese and tomatoes. This time I asked for Coke and didn't get it. Also, I believe I paid for it all I didn't get a receipt. I guess it's all my fault in having faith that it'll be done right this time darn it.

So much better than El Forestero. This had a perfect ratio of egg, potato, and meat (unlike el forestero which was huge, but was way too potato-heavy). Good flavor, salsa was good, service at the drive thru was friendly. Showed up right when they opened and they had my burrito ready super fast. Will be back for sure!

We grabbed dinner at Taco Express tonight and it was amazing. The food was delicious and the service was great! We tried street tacos, a super burrito, a fat burrito, quesaburria, rice, beans and churros.

This place is a good stop right off the freeway. If I'm ever in the area again, I will swing by, they lose a star because they dont have any healty options like a salad but that's okay. Im cool with that. The place has a restaurant vibe but a fast food experience. The service was good and I would recommend going there if you are near.

I was in the area, so wanted to give another location a chance. Compared to the Power Inn location, drive through staff were much nicer & food came out very quick. 10/10 - Bean & Cheese Burrito: I had a hankering for a basic burrito & this one was delicious! The burrito was pretty big & full of yummy filling. While still pricey, this one was worth it. 5/10 - Carne Asada Fries: the fries didn't seem fresh & very soggy; carne asada lacked flavor. Pretty disappointed by these.

Don't let this place fool you since it has a drive through! Excellent food especially coming from a Mexican food snob like me! Beans were tasty and rice had excellent flavor! Prices were extremely reasonable and don't forget to top it off with the churro con crema

During that time, they served me a glass of water and I quickly ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich - I had looked at the menu earlier - with a side of fruit. The sandwich was really great! They served the sandwich with the grilled, chicken breast, bacon, and BBQ sauce with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on the side. I'm not a fan of onions, so I did not have those, but it was nice to have the lettuce and the tomatoes have that nice taste when it hasn't been smothered in BBQ sauce or others as it's being cooked by the chicken like other places prepare them. I honestly left satisfied. This place really did live up to the recommendations and reputation it has. Our gym, Positive Impact Fitness always talks about this place and it was really worth it. Seeing as how its bulking season, I finally had a chance to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This is probably my new favorite breakfast spot. Its not perfect, but its still great. We got the Cooter's benedict...which isnt really a Benedict but more just biscuits and gravy. The sausage was surprisingly hand made! I couldn't believe it. Usually most places just give you pre-made Jimmy Dean's type of sausages. My wife doesnt like sausage in general and she actually loves the sausage here. The country potatoes are something that I skip almost everytime from every single breakfast spot, but for what is probably the first time ever, they were actually seasoned! Whatever person thought that just putting oil, onions, and bell peppers in a pan for a few minutes and the serving it should be castrated. The plate could have used more gravy, but the biscuits were so fluffy they basically fell apart and weren't dry and hard like some places. And you know how some places charge to split a plate? Not here! We also got the stuffed French toast which was just as great. The toast wasn't too eggy, plenty of scratch made whipped cream, and weren't skimpy on the blueberries either. Also wasn't overstuffed where all you could taste was cream cheese. I did try the homemade looking jam, but I would say its a bit concerning. I cant imagine them cleaning out the container after every table leaves and you never know what type of person before you is in the jar. All in all, this is the new default breakfast spot for sure.

Such a huge bummer! Is this place under different ownership or have they changed their…read moremenu/standards? We tried this spot out for the first time this morning after driving by it for years. The Owner's Yelp business description states they "specialize in breakfast", which sounded awesome. Reviews and photos looked so promising. Our experience was nothing like what others have shared though :( The space is nice and spacious, with an old school vibe which we liked, and we were so hopeful upon entering for the first time. Service was polite enough...but felt insincere and disinterested in taking good care of the customer. The one employee who I felt actually cared was the hostess, but the waitstaff seem to just be going through the motions. We shared it was our first time coming and we were excited to treat ourselves to a rare breakfast out. We needed a few extra minutes to study the menu since it was our first visit, but then we got forgotten about. I attempted to catch the waitresses attention numerous times with no success. After waiting about ten minutes longer than was reasonable, I did seek out the hostess's help in tracking down someone who could take our order. She was super apologetic, but of course it wasn't her job as she was busy seating people and handling her own tasks. The biggest disappointment was the food - in looking back at the photos the French toast we ordered looked nothing like the photos - first, when I asked what the difference between the 1/2 and full order was we were told it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices. That definitely seemed to justify the price so we ordered a half order for my young boy and I to share. What came out was shockingly different - it was two tiny slices of bread that looked like the inexpensive sliced grocery store bread. Because it was already small thinly sliced bread before being cooked, it was truly tiny once plated. We were honestly surprised they felt comfortable serving it. Maybe they ran out of their thick large French toast bread? No matter, they certainly shouldn't have served what we received though. It was confusing and embarrassing, IMO. So, we were misinformed that it was a 4 slice portion when it was 2 small thin slices of bread cut in half...that is not 4 slices of French toast. And then the waitress didn't come around our entire meal so I couldn't inquire about it until we were done. I ended up giving the French toast to my boy who ate it all in under 120 seconds, no joke (because there wasn't much to eat) and then he said he was still hungry. I, too, was quite hungry. Other family members agreed that the taste was good, but nothing special, and the servings did not match the high prices. So, the food was tasty enough but the portions were unreasonably small and do not justify the price, the service lacks greatly, and the misinformation was truly disappointing and misleading. When I did politely ask at the end about why she said it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices the waitress backpedaled stating it was 4 halves vs. 6 halves...and then she apologized that we were leaving hungry and offered me a biscuit. ??? Why would I want a biscuit? I just wanted the meal the waitress told me I was ordering. I wanted what some previous customers have shared in their photos here. The French toast in the photos here on Yelp looks legit and exactly what we wanted and expected...again, so odd the kitchen staff felt comfortable plating up the order we received. Zero quality control there. Honestly, it was just a weird and disappointing experience that had us leaving hungry and unsatisfied, so we went home and prepared a meal there. We are super chill people with realistic expectations, so for us to struggle with this first experience says a lot about how subpar it was. The price of a soft drink is unreasonable as well ($5) - which isn't a huge deal, but with the disappointing food it was just the icing on the cake. A large cup is served but it's completely filled with ice. When asked if we wanted a refill she brought a small cup over with 85% ice and some soda, using that small cup to refill the large cup...splashing soda all over the table and then having to use her dirty damp rag shoved in her apron pocket to clean it up around our food plates was definitely unsanitary and made us cringe. There were customers there though - not sure if they were first-timers like us due to the new Farmers Market, but maybe they do have a repeat clientele so none of this matters to them because they can keep their doors open without new customers like us. Sad to try a local business we were excited about and then have this disappointing experience. We envisioned making trips to the new Farmers Market across the street often and then enjoying a wonderful breakfast afterwards, as a nice new Saturday morning tradition. Sadly we will not be returning to this restaurant.

I had asked one of their excellent staff members to see if she was ok -- she had been in there for some time. She WAS OK. l finally went into the room (10 minutes later) to check on her myself. Between the time of the first check & "now", she HAD fallen on the semi-wet floor & couldn't get up by herself. My wife has Parkinson's disease . I helped her up but we had to leave immediately for the Emergency Room - she had broken something in her arm! After casting her wrist (& having x-rays of her head, neck wrist, & arm), we drove home. The next day, Wednesday, January 21st, I talked with another friend at Huckelberries while I was picking up an Arnold Palmer for my wife, I jokingly said that we should sue the establishment. After a couple of laughs, I reiterated that this was just a joke. She shared this information with Dominic, her manager. Dominic immediately texted me saying we could no longer eat there. Also if ANYONE working there talked with myself or my wife, they would be fired immediately! I shared with him that I had been joking & I stated that we would not do anything more. I was just JOKING. (A lousy Joke, I realize now, but a joke nonetheless.) During our limited back & forth "talking", NOT ONCE DID HE ASK HOW MY WIFE WAS!! Not Once! I feel that this was something that anyone, especially with a business background, should/would ask. But not Dominic. Therefore, I feel that this business, this MANAGER, receives the very lowest of ratings from me.
