Taco Casa has the best Taco Salad in the city, hands down. I had not been in quite a while because they moved locations. I drive by it several times a week but its set back in a new plaza so I always forget. I finally remembered to grab a taco salad on the way home and it did not disappoint. I am not quite sure what the secret is to this staple, but I have never ordered anything else here as it is that good. I just go with everything that comes on it. I actually live Taco Casa and have never had a bad meal BUT I went a couple months ago and the poor kid working was on his own. He was struggling to keep up while running the register and filling orders. He was very apologetic and kind. Yesterday I decided to go on my lunch hour. I arrived at 11:20 and found another hopeful customer standing outside. He said he saw an employee dropped off ten minutes before I arrived. I continued waiting until 11:30 and the restaurant never opened. It was frustrating since it was my lunch hour and I wasted it going to a restaurant that is supposed to be opened at 11:00 to end up with no time and no lunch. Won't be coming back read more

Five years ago while briefly waiting in line here, my life was forever changed. I ran into this very intriguing young person. This wasn't any ordinary person, they were different. You may be asking, why were they so different? Here's the answer: This was my first time coming to Taco Casa after my big Taco Bell blow out. As someone with a simple brain, I was lost and confused looking at the vastness of their menu. I asked the person standing in front of me in line what they were ordering. This person's order was just different. They ordering a quesadilla, not just any ordinary cheese quesadilla, it was a CHICKEN and cheese quesadilla. I had never heard of anything so grand. I decided I would order the same. This person was planning on eating alone and I as well did not have anyone to eat with (I had recently had my second divorce and hadn't talked to my son in years). I asked if they would let me sit with them, and they said "yes". I took a bite of my chicken and cheese quesadilla, and it was glorious. All I knew was I wanted to be friends with this person. We ended up running into each other frequently and eating together here often. Last night, I had my third wedding. The best person was no other than Axel Stan Stewart, the person I meant five years ago at Taco Casa. Thanks to the service, food, consistency, and ambiance of this store, I have found my best friend, a shoulder to cry on, and practically a sibling. It's American style Tex mex so don't look down your nose because "it's not authentic Mexican." Not trying to be. Sort of a craft version of Taco Bell, I'd say but lots of differences between the two. Taco salad still a classic and best in town. I love their beef enchilada pie and their beef tacos. Ambience is nothing fancy but it works. Pro tip: eat in, don't carry out or use a food delivery service. It's waaaaaaaay better if eaten on the spot. I think a ton of these places have suffered too much because the food delivery services (1) take too much of a cut off the top of the profit and (2) deliver food too slowly, which makes quality suffer. 1st time I ever been there saw it on my way to work, stopped in ordered 2 beef tacos ( not sure what kind of meet they put in there looked like refried beans almost) was almost like taco bell. salsa I do not recommend . I don't go to Taco Casa for the high quality food, but I'd at least expect some bit of courtesy. I'm a firm believer in spending my money at locally owned businesses, and I do so almost exclusively. People seem to care (usually) and it (usually) shows. So if I get a craving for crappy "Mexican" food, I usually hit up Taco Casa over Taco Bell. I'd never been to this location before, and probably won't ever again. I ordered at the counter to-go (a large taco salad), and I'm used to the point of sale computers where you type in the tip, but the order taker was like, "do you want to add a tip?" Even though I usually do, two other people waiting for food were right there watching and it definitely felt obligatory. So I wait to the side until my food is put on the counter and I immediately say, "can I get some of the extra hot sauce?" But she had already started small talk with the next customer. So I waited for a lull in the conversation, standing awkwardly with my $18 salad as they seemingly flirt together. I tried waving, holing my finger up (as if I'd like to make a comment--because I DID). Finally I convey to her that I'd like the extra hot sauce they only keep behind the counter, and I tried to ask for two, since I ordered a large salad, but she was already chatting away again. But she had gotten the word to the guy in the kitchen and I heard a verbal response. I even saw him pick up one container and fill it with the extra hot sauce, cap it, and put it on the prep counter. He makes one taco salad, bags it up, he makes another, bags it up. He makes a third salad, bags it up. He was starting on the fourth food item when it became brutally obvious that neither employee had any intention of walking my sauce 10 feet and handing it to me. Almost lost on me was the irony that the cashier was too busy messing around with the tip jar and half-joking with the chatty customer saying he needed to tip more with paper bills than coins. Still my extra hot sauce just sat there, 10 feet away behind the counter. After waiting at least four minutes, looking stupid in front of the Door Dashers, I just walked out. Delicious!! Unique!! Quick!! If you're wanting ambiance, this is not your place. If you're wanting good food, at least what I get, this is the place. I get a small burrito bowl with extra sauce, a small tuna bowl and an order of chips. And the sad thing is that I eat it all. It's a LOT of food and it's sooooo good. I live out of town, so I don't get it that often, but I surely enjoy it when I do. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It is the definition of a hole in the wall place, located in a small strip mall. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pruces were good, food was great. The worst food I've ever eaten. Chicken tacos consist of boiled chicken, 4 chucks of canned tomato a sprinkle of cheese and shredded lettuce. Soft taco tortilla was of cheap grocery store variety. Absolutely no flavor. Two chicken tacos , a drink for a grand total of $19. The facility is dingy and the bathrooms are filthy. I advise to look elsewhere. read more

I truly don't want to damage a business and hurt innocent workers, but I don't want another family to spend a lot of money eating here without good info. We had unwittingly purchased an Amazon gift card for this place, which they refused to honor. The food was truly bad. Extremely rancid taco shells, all of the food was microwaved but still cold, refried beans and taco meat were very bad. I don't have high standards for fast food, I can eat just about anything but couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. Family favorite for us and also during the Covid time on our rotation of placing to get food from. I always get the taco salad but this trip we started to go beyond that and tried the tacos which are delicious and should have gotten more because my sons are them all. I have been going to Taco Casa for about 50 years. On February 7th, 2021 I stopped for a to go order from the Montgomery location. When I arrived home the Large taco salad had like ball hard and crunchy. I immediately called and spoke to the man whom prepared my food. He said he was the manager and he would replace the taco salad no problem. He asked me when I could come in. I explained it would be several weeks since I live about 20 miles from the store. He assured me just come in and we'll take care of it. Well today 3/1/21, I decided to stop in to get the replacement. The young man waiting on me today, checked the book and my name wasn't in there. I asked him the name of the manager. He refused to give me the name of manager. When I asked why. He smugly stated I don't have you give you that information. In hide sight I should have reported it to the Hamilton county health department. I wont be going to Taco Casa Again and a I recommend you reading this do the same!! read more
