There have been problems with this TC before, but the new, improved TC must be remarked upon. The first indication of a change was the empty parking lot. There was an old dear 'manning' the register and taking the orders. They have draft beer now, which the order-taker couldn't really master. Oh, and the tiny plastic cups of draft beer are actually more expensive than the bottled beer. I didn't notice that until after the order was finished. I don't think the management understand how wrong that is. The refrigerator for the beer is probably an improvement on the old method of icing the beer down and then forgetting about it until there's no ice left. As I said, no one else was there, but it did take a while to get the food. Then, of course, the guac was missing. With flautas you get your choice of guac, cheese, or sour cream, so if you choose only one of these, it isn't an 'extra', but the old dear did ask if it was a special request, the guac. After that was sorted out, she mentioned the kitchen staff might just be too tired to remember the 'extras'. Oh, and one tortilla cost 40 cents. I can see where this is headed. I dare not reveal the total cost of flautas, one chicken taco, one fajita taco, and two small draft beers. It's really too sad we didn't go to Mana's in San Marcos, as usual. I should add that there were plenty of staff there, including an oblivious manager and ineffectual assistant manager. I should start with, I LOVE TC. The food itself is phenomenal for fast food. It's a bit pricier but definitely worth it when you want a good meal. This location has unfortunately fallen flat in other areas. The drive-thru menu has a ton of condensation making it impossible to read it. I'm sure most people know their order but my new to Texas husband couldn't figure out what he wanted. The salsa bar is always out of something, most recently the salsa roja. This may seem insignificant but isn't that why TC is chosen over some of the cheaper fast food options? This location seems to be working out some kinks with their app. I ordered and when I arrived there were a few patrons and nobody in line. They told me that because my order time was an hour behind that they couldn't start on my food. I requested to cancel my order so I could just order my food in store and they denied it. I was in a time crunch and the manager wasn't very helpful. After about thirty minutes I finally had my order and I was behind on my timeline. Horrible food! I ordered the Mexicana plate, and they brought it to me sans Mexicana. It was just a plate of scrambled eggs. I looked at it strangely, and the lady who brought it out to me asked if I wanted them to scramble pico into my eggs. Uhhhh...that's why I ordered the Mexicana plate, and NOT a scrambled eggs plate. Been here once before. The day they first opened up. We stayed for the support of a local restaurant. 45 minutes for 2 bean and cheese tacos. Said I would not be back and have not been back since then. I decided to give them a second chance. As soon as we got in line we had customers telling us we had a 30 minute wait. This was at 2:30 in the afternoon. Only about 5 customers were there. Over half complained. We even asked for a manager. When she came out she told us it would be 30 minutes before we got our food. I ordered 80 Breakfast tacos for a Saturday meeting at work and this location nailed it. The order was ready when I showed up and the front house manager and cook both knew about the order. They personally brought the order out to me and went over it. We spoke real quickly about what it was for and I thanked them for being so on top of everything. It was sad to know that the Gratuity I added to the order went to the company and not the employees that helped prepare the order for me. I suggest if you are going to tip for a large catering order make sure to bring cash instead. Very slimy of a company to ask about Gratuity and not give it to the employees. So the wife and I went to this location in Kyle a few months ago and had the worst experience ever. To start the woman working the drive up window was rude, un educated and most of all she forgot to give us half our order. Had to go back and they offered to remake our order. She takes my payment and I asked for jalapeños and salsa, during this time I watch my food be put next to her by the cook. She slowly goes to the salsa bar to get the salsa and jalapeños. She comes back moves my food to the other side of her and then decides to make my drink mind you 5 minutes have now gone by. I then see her taking a drink of the dr.pepper from a clear cup. Instead of saying something to me she walks off and stands at the front counter all while my food is just sitting there after another 3 minutes she comes back to the window gives me my food and says you'll have to wait our dr.pepper is being switched out. I finally said forget it and drove off. This place is pathetic and the attitude of the employees and managers is horrible. 90% of the time you go to drive through the first thing they give you when you pay is a drink. She could of told me right then and there there was an issue but instead drug it out another 10-15 minutes. I pulled into the drive through at 10:04pm and pulled out of the drive through at 10:32pm. How Taco Cabana has not done something with this store yet I don't know they see all the bad reviews and it continues. They offer their free coupons(which I was offered 2 week ago and they still have not arrived) and hope that will just change your mind.
