This store has poor management and staff, I've been at this location 4 times and everytime there is something wrong...here are some things I have came across like we are short staff it will be a 40min wait, we ran out of eggs, we don't have any queso, and we are out of beans! Absolutely horrible. This restaurant is constantly dirty. The service is atrocious. Constantly forgetting to put stuff in the order or getting the order wrong.Then I go tonight to give them a second chance and I get told it will be a 30 minute wait to get my food because theyshortstaffed. I will now drive to San Marcos or South Austin to get taco cabana and will no longer visit this location. ***updated review**** So I went last night as there was one car in the drive through and figured maybe they could redeem themselves. Well I was mistaken. I pulled up to the order menu and waited and waited after about 4 cars pulled up behind me I finally said "hello" to which the lady on the microphone said oh welcome to taco cabana can I take your order?. I proceeded to give my order to which she read back completely wrong. I had to correct the order. I pulled to the window and waited and waited at least 3 minutes before being acknowledged. She takes my payment and I asked for jalapeños and salsa, during this time I watch my food be put next to her by the cook. She slowly goes to the salsa bar to get the salsa and jalapeños. She comes back moves my food to the other side of her and then decides to make my drink mind you 5 minutes have now gone by. I then see her taking a drink of the dr.pepper from a clear cup. Instead of saying something to me she walks off and stands at the front counter all while my food is just sitting there after another 3 minutes she comes back to the window gives me my food and says you'll have to wait our dr.pepper is being switched out. I finally said forget it and drove off. This place is pathetic and the attitude of the employees and managers is horrible. 90% of the time you go to drive through the first thing they give you when you pay is a drink. She could of told me right then and there there was an issue but instead drug it out another 10-15 minutes. I pulled into the drive through at 10:04pm and pulled out of the drive through at 10:32pm. How Taco Cabana has not done something with this store yet I don't know they see all the bad reviews and it continues. They offer their free coupons(which I was offered 2 week ago and they still have not arrived) and hope that will just change your mind. Always a bad sign when you finally get up to order in the drive through after waiting ten minutes and the first thing the guy says in a monotone depressed voice is "just so you know, it's a forty minute wait". They didn't have my order as I ordered it online. I arrived and they had me wait an extra 15 min for my food that I ordered online. When I got there they told me that they didn't have all the food I ordered and asked me to change my order instead of offering a refund. This is not the first time this has happened. If you are wanting a hot meal, look elsewhere. The food tastes old, cold, and is certainly overpriced. I paid over $60 for our order, it didn't even include drinks. The military discount I asked about prior to my order was refused to me at the window even after showing my ID. The ground beef tacos were loaded with lettuce and tomato (note: we asked to have the tomatoes removed) but barely any meat or cheese. We were missing items from our order and the food we did get was not made as ordered. They have a "we don't care" attitude and act like their mistakes are ok since you've already paid for the service. Wow Taco Cabana really went to shame. The wait is outrageous. Always gets my order wrong, constantly forgetting to give me things here and there. Just earlier i ordered a meal and my friend did as well, we got a side of chips and queso and they forgot both chips AND queso, i also got a side of queso for my flautas and they forgot that as well. And i've just been set off after finding 2 pieces of hair in my flautas, both different lengths and colors so obviously belonging to 2 different people- then not to mention the long thick black hair having what looks like a LICE EGG attached to it. I go to this taco cabana a decent amount cause it's the only one near by. If there were one even 10 minutes further, I'd probably go to the further location. Every single time I order grilled onions and guac on my tacos, I get grilled peppers and no guac. I mean this seriously happens 9/10 times and it's very frustrating considering I'm paying for the guac. Their salsa can also sometimes have an odd smell like it's moldy/old salsa. Last week I decided to go through this locations drive thru at approximately 10pm. I asked for 2 potato egg and cheese tacos and the lady said that the do not serve breakfast tacos at this time of night. However, the promotion to serve breakfast all day was already in place. I explained that to her and she again repeated herself and stated they do not sell breakfast at this time. I decided to leave and go somewhere else. Terrible service & drive thru. I went to this location one evening. I should have been tipped off about the poor service when I noted every other drive thru in that area had cars wrapped around the buildings waiting for service and full parking lots, but this location had only two cars, which appeared to be employees and no one in the drive thru line, but my bad, I went through. Considering there were no customers to speak of the service was slow. They were out of salsa! Seriously? You serve Mexican food! How can you run out? When I finally received my order, which was for only 3 people, I asked the server if it included everything and she replied yes. I took my order and drove home. When I unpacked it my large chips and queso were missing, as were utensils and napkins. The enchiladas tasted ok, but lacked the proper amount of sauce to cover them, while the other food was dry as if it was sitting too long. I called the number on the receipt and reported the issue of the missing food asking for a refund. It took 25 minutes to complete the call. No one called me back and no refund was issued. Several days later I called again - another lengthy phone call that required the same information I had already given - this time I was told they would "prioritize" it. I bet you can guess the outcome. Their priority was to waste my time. No one ever called and they, in effect, stole my money, while rewarding themselves with it for poor service and subpar food. My suggestion is that you pass up this location and choose one of the many other vendors in the area. Subpar food, service, missing items in your order and follow-up are not worth your time and wasted money. Do yourself a favor and pass this one by. I'd give zero stars if it was possible read more

Ridiculous. Due to the bad reviews for wait time and service I have avoided going to the location in my home town of Kyle. I passed by during a Thursday lunch, the lot was relatively empty so I decided to give it a try. Bad move!!!! The food was good but everything else was abysmal! There were only 4 tables occupied yet the restaurant was filthy. All the empty tables needed to be cleaned both inside and out on the patio. After I bused my own table( do I get a discount for being a busboy?) my food arrived. When I went to get a fork there were none there. An empty restaurant, filthy tables and floors and no restocking of utensils. The inside was so gross I brought my meal to the car and ate it there. I have been to many Taco Cabanas in the past and always enjoyed the food, service and cleanliness. This location is the pits! They have had months to get their act together and can't get the job done. A total disaster!!!! Stay away. You will be grossly disappointed if you venture in. This is a casa of horrors! One potato egg and cheese and one potato and bean? No. Just two potato and bean. That's pure negligence. I've already driven off so I had to make the long loop around I35 to get the morning start to fix it. They gave me two tacos pretty quick. Too quick. Potato and egg no cheese on both of them. I have been eating at Taco Cabana for years so I was happy to see one close to home. I must say this was quite a disappointment. The Austin stores have set a standard of service that l have come to know as being the norm. So I was surprised the the quality and (lack of) quantity at this place. I ordered my usual 2 cheese enchilada plate and a beef fajita taco. The enchiladas: corn tortillas were dry and tough, next to no enchilada sauce and the cheese was microwaved to the point it seemed like plastic. Made it very tough to cut and chew. No bueno, but let me continue. The plate comes with 2 tortillas wrapped in foil. As does the fajita taco. Received only one foil. It looked thin and felt light which gave every indication it was the. tortillas so I asked server (very nice young man) for the beef fajita taco to which he said that WAS the taco and that he'd return with the tortillas and the missing guacamole. I was disappointed when I unwrapped the foil to find he was right. It was so skimpy I wanted to weep. About 7 small squares of dry, chewy meat resembling beef jerky. I mentioned this to the server and he said that's the normal serving size. He kindly brought some more enchilada sauce. Over all it was a disappointment and not worth the price. 1 star for food and a bonus star for service. Was not shocked when saw the rating and reviews on Yelp. I won't be back to this location. The staff is horrible, very poor or non existant, CS skills, they are always "out of eveything", the food is not very good and the management is horrible which probably explains why everything else is so bad. First let me say that I usually have a good experience at Taco Cabana. This Kyle location seems poorly ran. There's always something wrong with my visit. This visit was at breakfast. The inside wasn't busy but the drive through was a little. I spent close to $8 on a breakfast plate that was not worth the trouble. The Migas texture was that of powdered eggs and the side of bacon was so thin and under cooked. I can live with these problems but the the fried potatoes seemed to have been fried 1to2 hours before I ordered them. Cold and slightly soggy. Gross. The only reason they got 2 stars was the undercooked tortilla was hot and the sweet tea was on point. This is my local TC which I'll try to avoid for now on. read more
