I must share my Horrible experiences at this location; University Center, Irvine. I say "Experiences" because I re-visited to give the Manager the benefit of the doubt. Big Mistake. Unfortunately, the 3 times I was there, they wouldn't ALLOW me to place my order with a Real Person. The Manager Made me use the Kiosk (which I was unfamiliar with) so she said, she would come help me. It took her 10 minutes and I was on my lunch hour. The reason I walked in was for fast service; although, I found out I was thrown into a Que. Doesn't end there. The Manager (female) who is still working there, was Rude, Mean to me, and would only allow me 2 packets of hot sauce with my order. What??? I am salsa queen! I like a lot of salsa packets on my tacos and burritos! I was appalled she and her associates would not give me extra salsa packets And the Associate was holding a huge box of new salsa packets while the Manager told me, "Corporate doesn't allow us to give more than 2 packets per order." You've got to be kidding me. 2 packets per order???? The reason I am leaving this negative review is Corporate needs to re-evaluate your staff. The worst. I wish I could have given zero stars but I don't think it's possible. First, you can't order from a live person. I went to the cashier and she said I had to use the kiosk even though I was standing right in front of her. I had some questions but she ran off before I could ask them. Once a week, I try to remember to go to the Taco Bell at UTC for the usual... Two Spicy Tostadas and Black Beans on the side. It's standard fare! My lunch is light, inexpensive and quick. The total tab: $3.76! Where else can you get a better and fast Vegetarian lunch for under $5? I have also tried their popular Veggie items including the Seven-layer burrito, Half-pound Bean burrito, Black Bean burrito, Mexican pizza and Cheesy, Fiesta potatoes... however, after reading how much sodium and extra calories one consumes from their tortillas, I now stay away from their burritos. I have also enjoyed their Veggie Bowl in the past (which costs over $5.) In summary, if you want a quick and inexpensive lunch, you can't go wrong with Taco Bell. Their Drive Thru is fast but can occasionally give you something else or less; the pick up inside is slow but you can accurately verify your order. read more

We struck up conversation about his night (as it was midnight) and now his shift was going. He was so beyond hospitable and offered us a free drink as we were talking. It's the little things...and Ruben gets it! Finding great customer service is hard these days. He told us he commutes from Brea which is roughly a half an hour, but I would've never guessed. There's a reason why I've only been to this place once in my three years of being in Irvine. Need I say more, really? It's pretty obvious: 1) The food just isn't good. I was pretty dehydrated to the point I was getting dizzy and pulled through the drive thru here to see if I could buy a bottle of water. The really kind man on the speaker told me they unfortunately don't sell water bottles, but would gladly give me water for free. I told him I had no problem paying for a large drink and if he could just fill it with water. He then insisted just pull through the window and gave me the large cup with ice for free. For what it is, Taco Bell does the job. It's open late-night, the food is different and interesting, and it tastes ... not bad. The staff was very nice and the food tasted as expected. I came in with only around $8 for the entire order but I still left a bit hungry. I almost expected that I could get more food than I did based on the place's reputation for cheap and filling fast food. The Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos taco tasted better than the other burritos and tacos that I got, so I recommend trying that. I just found out that when you order online for the drive thru pick up you can ONLY pick it up in the drive thru. I attempted to go inside to pick up my order since the drive thru line was wrapped around the parking lot and was told "it's a different system, you can only pick up in the drive thru". This is fast food, nothing about it is complex. I promise that the action of walking to where the employee pointed, grabbing my food, then handing it to me was VERY possible. So now I as the customer have to be inconvenienced, get back into my car and wait in line for 15 minutes! At this point I COULD HAVE JUST ORDERED IT IN PERSON. This means that Ordering it beforehand was of no benefit to me. I am so disappointed with Taco Bell in general for their Ad campaign for Mexican pizza which they were suppose to be bringing back. That was a lie. Haven't seen one of those even though I've asked 5 times. Plus They raised all there prices on most items which wouldn't be bad if they maintained the quality. However that has gone down too. I ordered a chalupa supreme with beef that had literally almost no beef. It was loaded with lettuce tomato's and some cheese, but the smallest amount of beef that they could possible use on the bottom of the chalupa. And with my take out order i didn't get enough hot sauce which I asked for. So now my bill is a third more and I get a third less. I'm a little bias when it comes to Taco Bell because I grew up eating their tacos when they had that amazing deal (39 cent tacos?) I'm also a huge nachos guy and an avid basketball fan so when Taco Bell had the Kevin Love XXL nachos commercial, I just had to try it. This particular Taco Bell is modern and I haven't had any issues with them although I've had my fair share of being sick after eating at Taco Bell at other locations. The XXL nachos is more looks and advertisement than anything. I had the steak nachos for $5.99 and the steak was pretty dry while the different cheeses didn't do anything spectacular for me. The guacamole is questionable as well. It's dancing around the same prices as the nachos from Tapatia in Santa Ana, in which their nachos reign supreme. The nachos from Carnitas Michoacan in LA dominates TB's nachos like how Kevin Love would dominate if he were to play 1 on 1 against an 8th grader. Do try their $1 loaded grillers though, especially the beef nacho with the Fritos chips. It's a great bang for your buck type of deal. I've included a picture of the nachos so judge for yourself. There was only 6 hat sauces when my order came, and no drink; Then I asked for 3 more hot sauces, and the employee refused to give me 3 more, and she said it's the new policy.
