Most burrito place have this and it's kinda my standard to judge a place by. There aren't many choices of places to eat out here by the Gigafactory area where I'm on location for work. Just walked in and checked out the menu posted on the wall. The cashier speaks perfect English so no prob there like some places. Ordered my food and it was ready in a short time. The burrito was a nice hefty size. I unwrapped it to eat as a hand held thing. Like a big fat popsicle! I had one friend once, I couldn't believe it, we ordered burritos and he started eating it in his hands like it was a corn on the cobb, biting right into the middle and all the fillings all falling out, OMG! what the hell are you doing? He just looked clueless, I guess cause he never ate a burrito with his hands before, just had it wet on a plate and ate with a fork and knife! Had to show him how to eat a burrito hand held! Just had to share that burrito story! My burrito was super tasty and well filled. I actually didn't finish it all and took the rest back to the hotel for later.

Street tacos have been consistently good: we've tried all their seasoned meats and they are excellent, the tacos also include onion, cilantro, lime. Fried taco plate was good. Pricing on tacos and the daily board items is reasonable. Rice and beans are the weak point. They lack seasoning and are the one item I would skip or replace by maybe skipping the Plato and go a la carte. I would go back for tacos and guacamole. I would not go back for the sides. We also tried the Tres Leches cake. Amazing! Open 10am to 8pm everyday except Sunday in which they are closed.

They added just the right amount of salt and jalapeno to give it a little kick. Things that could be done better: - tacos are fried, like baja style. That will cost you an extra $6 each making the sides as expensive if not more expensive than the taco. - coke was bottled so no refills but at least it was reasonably priced ($3.25). - ambiance leaves much to be desired. They literally front an alleyway. There is no parking in front. You have to fend for yourself on the street. There is scant seating on the patio. - the patio has blocked views on 3 sides and the one view they do have is of the alleyway and a parade of WM dumpsters. There is also a very noticeable contingent of homeless in that area literally walking past you in the alleyway. This is not The Taco Shops fault but mentioned here because it can be distracting. - Because the patio is walled on three sides it is like an oven.
