First off, the lady serving us was very sweet. You walk in, review the menu overhead and order, pay, take your food and have a seat. I ordered the sandwich and one side special. You have the option between pulled pork, chicken or beef. I chose the chicken, dark meat with Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was a little dry, but ok overall. The chicken was better but didn't have a lot of flavor. I used their hot bbq which was good. Not spicy at all if you're worried. But flavorful. They appear to cater and offer specials. The restaurant had four picnic tables for seating. So not a lot of seats, but a cozy little environment. The bbq didn't blow me away, but their special of a sandwich and one side for under $11 before taxes made it a value worth trying. read more

TLDR: 2 plates and 2 drinks for $55 with a side of food poisoning, I'll go to Arby's next time. I feel a little bad leaving a not positive review, but I'm gaslighting myself into giving that third star because it was an hour and a half before they closed and the gal who helped us was nice enough. The restaurant itself wasn't what I expected, very break room feeling. It's Fallon, whatever. I heard it was good, there's rib awards all over the walls, let's check it out! I think an hour and a half is an appropriate amount of time left open to expect at least freshISH food, but my (shredded?) brisket was so dry. I think I tossed half of it. Not sure how this place is ranked so low. I'm a BBQ nut - currently wearing my t-shirt from Peg Leg Porker in Nasville, and this place had some excellent BBQ and sides. The owner is appropriately grumpy (never trust a BBQ place with a jovial pit master) and his daughter was a lovely hostess. Wife had excellent pork ribs - crispy outside and moist inside, and very flavorful. I had a mix of pulled pork and chopped burnt brisket (my request). Juicy, just fatty enough, and with a great pit flavor. I'd eat here any time at all. read more

Was passing through town and my hotel was up the street. Got a rack of ribs with 2 sides. The ribs had not a drop of smoke on them and there's not one chance in a million they they saw the inside of a smoker. Dry, flavorless and embarassing in all respects. To add insult to injury, I was out $37. Should've known by the cheesy interior. Lesson learned. Potato salad was serviceable, I guess. read more

This place may have been good at one time, but it certainly isn't anymore. The meat is very dry. If you ask for brisket with fat, don't expect to get it--I've been told by the server that she trims all the fat off because she personally doesn't like it. In my opinion, cooking meat with fat makes it softer and moister. Someone should remind her that she's not just cooking for herself. I've given this place two chances, but I won't be returning. The lunch special was any meat sandwich, and one side. I had a brisket, barbecue sandwich with coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. Food was good and filling and the options for their barbecue sauce was plentiful. It's nothing fancy, but it will definitely fill you up. The dining area is simple and cool temps to keep you out of the heat. The meals purchased by themselves and you must purchase a drink separate, but they have many choices in their refrigerated section similar to a convenience store. The service was friendly, and staff are kind and knowledgeable. And they do offer catering, which would be amazing for larger events. They do support Military and 1ST Responder Discounts! read more

We stopped over night in Fallon on our way back from a road trip to Oklahoma. It was a strange time to be travelling, but finding delicious bbq along the way made it pretty great. My husband ordered the beef brisket. I ordered the pulled pork and rib combo. The meats were absolutely delicious! Sides - I ordered corn on the cob and coleslaw. Loved the COTC. The slaw was fine, nothing spectacular, but not bad. My husband got the mac n cheese and corn niblets. The mac n cheese was really good. First time here on 11-11-22. Ordered a brisket sandwich with beans and cole slaw. The brisket was very good and heaped on the sandwich. No shortage of meat here! Not sure if the beans and slaw are home made but they were both good. Tried a sample of the pulled pork which was very juicy and flavorful. Definitely want to go back and get more. We tried to get into the Rib Cookoff. But we had our mom-in-love with us and she has mobility issues and it was just too darn hot. Stopped in Fallon for the night and decided to stop in. Boy! Are we glad we did. Better than the Cook off. No lines. No parking woes. Friendly service. Ribs were cooked to meaty perfection. Falling off the bone and still juicy with subtle flavor. The sauce was pretty good as well. Spicy was only slightly but liked the flavor from mixing the two. Should have read the reviews first. Non of the food is fresh cook they just have it sitting in hot trays. There was barely any meat on my ribs and had plenty of tuff meet or bones. The BBQ is ok, big portions so good value. One of the staff, if not the owner, didn't wear a mask inside the restaurant and food preparation area, which I didn't appreciate given the uncontrolled community spread in NV. And it was no coincidence, they had slogans criticizing masks and OSHA (doesn't believe in safety and hygiene I guess too). At points over the weekend I thought perhaps I'd not to get to tell you about this place. Not because its memory would have grown any less fragrant in the time away. Not that. Susie's was at mile 275 of a 1700-mile weekend, on the way to hike the Virgin Narrows, racing one of the most intense storms I've seen in a long while. Yesterday morning in the slot canyon with water to my neck and thunder in my ears I thought of Susie's, and asked the river to allow me the chance to tell you about it. Clearly, as I type this to you today, the river agreed - Susie's is that good. The proprietors have a fixed place in town, but on Friday night they were set up in front of KHWG (pr. K-Hog) on the main drag across from the place I had to stop for the night. I half didn't believe that this was serious - but Elvis singing "How Great Thou Art" as I pulled out of Fallon the next morning confirmed it was no joke. Classic bbq and the sweetest country to head me off into the Nevada sunrise. Susie's doesn't offer anything you haven't eaten before, menu-wise, but if you're an aficionado of smoked meat and house-made sauce loveliness, then this place is for you. It would have been a worthy last meal for me, the loaded pulled pork on the soft roll, the sweet slaw and smoky beans. All washed down with 32-ounce Highlife from the Maverick next door. Ah me, life is good. Your lessons for today are as follows: 1) Do not venture into the narrow canyons of Utah in a thunderstorm. 2) Live like there's no tomorrow. 3) Visit Susie's. Stopped in while driving through Fallon. We didn't want the regular fast food. The selection of BBQ meat was both beef and pork. We purchased the Beef Brisket Sandwich. It included 2 sides. We picked the Mac n Cheese. Xlnt. The coleslaw was also great. It wasn't sugary or watery. The slaw was crunchy. You get 3 beef ribs with it. We asked that the ribs were beef. We were told yes. We didn't get 3 beef ribs, we got pork. Cant eat them which is why we asked. Oh well, the helping of pulled beef was large. The problem was the beef was so dry and hard, no amount of sauce would make it edible. Basically we paid $20 for a serving of Mac and coleslaw. read more

The food was very good and even came with homemade bbq sauce, hot was very good, but not too hot at all, but also had a mild for the people whom do not like the hot stuff. It is so sad there are more really BAD barbecue places than good. We were driving all day and staying in Fallon due to business in Silver Springs tomorrow. I am always looking for good barbecue but, this was marked off the list when we relocate from So Cal to Winnemucca, NV. My combo Brisket Pork Sandwich was dry as a bone with 0 smoke flavor. This is sad from a place that brags about winning so many awards. I am a long-time smoker of meats from Albacore, brisket, tri-tip and Pork butts and have never had anything this dry and tasteless, including the fish jerky that I liked to make at times. When I eat smoked meat I like to taste smoke and not have to use barbecue sauce to flavor and moisten the meat. It really makes me wonder about judges at these contests.
