    Sweet potato fries
    Aurora N.

My boyfriend is so excited to have a crab place in town! We shared a crab and shrimp entree and added sweet potato fries. Overall we were very satisfied. The cajun seasoning was super yummy- buttery and full of flavor but not too spicy. Big portion we shared and both left full and didn't even eat it all. Comes with lots of potatoes soaked in yummy sauce, corn, sausage, and lemon. It was a fun and yummy date night!

I love coming here I feel like its not talked about enough because it's somewhat hidden but its pretty good. I do wish they had the seafood boils that come in bags

Good service, was served by the cashier and there was only one other customer. The dish was... Miserable. Basically a low broth Udon noodle soup on a plate and not a fried noodle entree like it should be. None of the vegetables seemed pickled, so what was that sour off-taste coming from? Original Review: I tried really hard to like this place. Three times (visits) in fact. Day 1 and 2 i had the same hostess/server. Blonde (platinum?) hair? She was doing her best on the first night which was very busy. Second day was much less so and i got quicker service. She was friendly which in this town seems to be a hit and miss. Third day i was served by a hostess with black hair. Ice cold demeanor. The most thinly veiled "friendliness" switched on only the moment she looks at/addresses you directly. I already knew they were out of some of their dishes (much to my dismay) but to also not know what was on the menu? I mentioned the Yaki Udon on the blackboard titled "New Entrees" and she looked at me with dead eyes and said, "i have no idea what you're talking about". At which point i walked out. Day 1 i had the ramen. Pork belly in place of Chashu is interesting, certainly an easier substitute but i think they would benefit doing Chashu instead. Noodles were a decent texture. I just wish the broth was way hotter temp than it was. Day 2 i had the Crispy Baby Octopus and got to try their fried rice (as a side). Both were really decent for Fallon. But i felt i needed to go one more time before making a final decision/review and well... Day 3 totally bombed. Shockingly bad service and was there even any food left to serve?

The food took forever to come out and it wasn't even hot, it was lukewarm. The restaurant itself was cute and spacious though. The women's bathroom door only locked sometimes and the toilet wasn't connected to the floor so every time it was sat on it would lift off of the ground. We got the mussels and they were just okay and we got a boba but it was jelly boba not the tapioca kind so that was disappointing and off-putting. My Mom got the Szechuan beef and it was like sour and not good tasting. I got the orange chicken lunch special with fried rice and it was foul. The orange sauce was super sweet and thick like honey. The fried rice tasted nothing like any fried rice I've had before. It tasted so weird and had some weird seasoning/flavor to it. I don't know if I'd come back here but the ramen and Japanese nachos were delicious!

We were actually looking for another establishment, but could not find it for whatever reason. However, as we were looking, we saw La Fiesta and made a uturn and headed right over. I can honestly say this was well worth checking out. As you walk in the place is pretty spacious and I have to say that the decor is really nice. I included a picture of some of the artwork that is on display. It was just after the lunch hour, so it was pretty much empty in there and we were able to get seated right away. The gentleman that seated us seem to be pretty nice, but didn't make too much conversation, which is fine. He brought us menus and brought chips and salsa after that and took our drink orders. We sat and made small talk as we waited and continued to check out the decor. Being that it wasn't very busy, our food did not take long to arrive But I have to say the chips and salsa was very good and it also included a sort of cabbage type of pico de gallo. Which I only got to try it once because my wife hogged it all. That's how much she liked it. Our food arrived shortly and man did it look good and it tasted even better I can honestly say that. My wife had the chili Colorado and a taquito with beans and rice. I chose to try the chili Verde plate that also came with beans and rice. Both dishes came with warm tortillas. I can honestly tell you that this Chile Verde was legit and I could not get over how good it tasted. My wife was equally as happy with her food and we both kept saying how much we enjoyed it and we plan to come on back and try something else. After eating, I needed to use the restroom, which was clean to my liking, of course And as I walked back to the table, I noticed there was some stairs leading down to a Cantina, which I thought was pretty cool. I did not go down to check it out being it was so early in the day. I didn't think it was open, but I will probably check it out next time we go back. So if you are in Fallon Nevada, and would like to try some amazing Mexican food check out La Fiesta because you will not be disappointed

You are served mild salsa and a cabbage mix to scoop your chips into. The cabbage had good flavor and was a unique addition, we really enjoyed it! The salsa was mild and a bit on the average side. You can tell the tomato tasted like it came from a can. My husband got the ground beef enchilada which came out steaming hot and I got the fish taco from the lunch menu, both portions were massive! We both thought the rice and beans were delicious! I was a little disappointed with the fish tacos because when I took a bite of the first one, the tortilla split and everything fell out onto my plate after the first bite (same with the others). I then had to eat my taco with a fork which was new for me. I'm someone that goes with the flow, but I must say I've never eaten a taco with a fork before. The fish was battered which I didn't mind, but it was soggy from the pico. It would've been better to have had two tortillas holding the fish taco instead of one thin tortilla and maybe put the pico on the side. The beef burrito was just ok, it needed more flavor. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and the food came out fast. We really appreciated the service and hospitality.

Tonight we came out to Js for my husband's birthday…read more The restaurant was clean, dimly lit, and fairly loud. Our waitress was good but not one of our favorites. Our waters were never filled and our non-alcoholic beverage drinkers were never checked on to see if their drinks were ok/wanted something else/need anything. She also only checked on us 1x right after the food was dropped off to see if we needed freshly ground pepper and not again until it was time for desert and the check. For appetizers we had the Thai Scallops and the special Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus. The Thai Scallops are one of our go-tos and they were good; however, they were pretty heavily breaded tonight. The Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus was good but was hard to eat and could have used a bit more cooking. For my main I had the linguine and clams. I was HIGHLY disappointed in this tonight. The noodles were delicious and beautifully done but the "sauce" was nothing but pasta water. There was flavor: no garlic, no butter, no clams-no flavor whatsoever. The clams were also macerated as if someone chewed them up and spit them in the dish for me. My husband had the ribeye with gorgonzola butter and polenta. Everything was cooked beautifully and seasoned perfectly but his chunk of butter (his favorite) was so frozen it never melted-even by the end of the meal. For desert, my husband had the bread pudding and we had the crème brûlée. My husband said the bread pudding was good but slightly dry and cold. The crème brûlée was horrible. We sent it back and got "oh sorry someone new made them-big fail" and laughing. The brûlée was not even close to being set so it was pure liquid. It wasn't even a consistent temperature. After years of loving eating at Js and celebrating milestones here it makes me sad to see how quality is slipping.

Our group booked months in advance and responsibly kept the restaurant updated as our party size changed, which the staff appreciated. We were eager to attend and had been looking forward to the evening, especially once the special holiday menu was released. Unfortunately, the prix fixe menu was not published until just days before New Year's Eve. It was a six-course, classic French-style menu with wine pairings at $150 per person. While the menu sounded interesting, nearly every course was meat-based, with the exception of the salad and dessert. We had one vegetarian in our group, so I immediately called to ask about accommodations. I left multiple messages (including on the private number provided for event coordination), but never received a callback prior to the holiday. Given the cost and formality of the meal, this lack of communication felt unprofessional and disappointing. On the night of dinner, our table was ready, and we were seated promptly. Service overall was attentive and friendly, though not without flaws. Despite asking for water multiple times throughout the evening, I never received any and ultimately had to get my own from the Delta Saloon bar next door. As for the food, the quality was mixed and the portions were extremely large--so much so that most of us could not finish courses four through six and took food home. While generous portions aren't a bad thing, the overall heaviness of the meal made it difficult to enjoy the full experience. Highlights included the Niçoise salad, which was beautifully plated and delicious, and the bone marrow, which was rich and well-served as a shared dish. The foie gras was tasty but overwhelmed by an excessive amount of fig jam, throwing off the balance and making an already rich dish even heavier. The sole with hollandaise was a major disappointment. The fish was mushy and completely drowned in an unusually spicy hollandaise that overpowered the dish. I barely touched it. By the time the beef bourguignon arrived, I was already uncomfortably full, though what I did taste was good. Dessert was crêpes suzette, which I had never had before. While interesting, it was extremely sweet and saturated in butter--two bites were more than enough. One particularly baffling moment was the bread service: butter was served with olive oil poured directly over it. This combination was unnecessary and unappealing--one or the other would have sufficed. Financial transparency was another major issue. During wine service, our server continued refilling glasses. When one of the paired wines ran out, she casually replaced it with another Sauvignon Blanc without mentioning that it would be an additional charge. When the bill arrived, we were shocked to see $20 per glass added for this wine. This was never communicated, and given the menu advertised the dinner as "all inclusive," this felt inappropriate. Additionally, gratuity was added automatically, which is fine--but should have been clearly stated upfront. To make matters worse, a 3% credit card processing fee was added without any prior notice. For a table of 20 at this price point, it's unreasonable to expect guests to pay in cash or be surprised by hidden fees. By the end of the night, each guest paid $210 or more, depending on extra wine charges. Our vegetarian guest was charged $75 for three simple dishes and unlimited beer (since she doesn't drink wine), plus gratuity--an amount that felt excessive for what was provided. Ultimately, while some dishes were enjoyable, the meal was overwhelmingly rich, poorly communicated, and riddled with unexpected charges. I ended up with a stomachache severe enough to leave the New Year's Eve festivities early. Our group visits Virginia City every New Year's Eve. Last year we dined at the Gold Hill Hotel and had a wonderful meal with clear pricing and no surprises. Next year, we'll be returning there--or opting for a more casual, reliable spot like Red Dog or the Palace. I would strongly recommend The Sawdust Corner improve transparency around pricing and fees, publish special menus earlier, and consider offering a regular menu alongside prix fixe options. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not return.

The chow fun felt and tasted like if you showed someone a picture of the dish and asked them to recreate it on sight alone. The noodles were overcooked and the green onions were basically raw. I desperately searched for flavor and found none. I refuse to believe there was any fermented black bean involved in its creation. The twice cooked pork was surprisingly pliable and yet the chicken was dry. I had to give it the soy sauce treatment to finish it, embarrassing. Day 2 i returned to try a signature dish (because if im gonna 1 star, i want to have a well rounded opinion), which they were out of. So i tried to order the daily special (Salt and Pepper Pork Chops). Received it initially as a normal entree order despite pointing to it on the Daily Special Menu. I could still taste the raw breading (flour, corn starch, etc) and the pork itself was still relatively flavorless and not the star of the dish. Overpowered by the garlic (vinegar?). You think im gonna try sushi from this place? Absolutely not, will not return.

I had no expectations and didn't think it would be as authentic as Vietnamese restaurants. However, it was pretty legit in my opinion! It had a good flavored beef broth. The rice noodles were cooked perfectly, al dente and not soggy. It's basically a DIY pho bar. The sever working the station was pretty rude though.
