Fantastic food! Service was questionable today. Always a cheerful greeting when you come in. We thought about sitting outside on the patio, but figured that the wind was a bit much. Food today was a Bombardier style pulled pork sandwich - picture a pulled pork chimichanga, Beef Dip sandwich, a Shrimp & Crab roll, and a flight of pulled pork sliders. For an appetizer, we tried their Loaded Potato Skins. Lots of toppings and potato, served hot! A wonderful new app was their Pepperoni Pizza bread! A meal in itself! Service needs a mention... server really didn't listen or forgot to write requests down. One of the drinks were wrong, requested water didn't arrive... appetizer was delivered without onions... Ultimately, your dinner should not arrive at the same time your appetizers arrive...

    French fries and Mozzarella Sticks

Stopped in at The Grid to grab a stamp for our beer passport. I tried the Grid IPA, but unfortunately it wasn't to my taste. We just ordered some snacks -- a basket of fries and mozzarella sticks -- both were fine but nothing that really stood out. Service was a bit slow to start, though we understood it was a Sunday. That said, with only a few patrons in the building, it was surprising our table wasn't wiped down before we sat. Once we were seated, the food came out fairly quickly. The venue itself is nice, and I can see it being more of an evening spot with its stage, lighting, and overall setup. While our visit was okay, we don't feel the need to make a return trip.

We came here to watch the final four games for this years college basketball tournament and were surprised how awesome this bar was! Super nice staff and really awesome beer and food. They have darts and corn hole and pool tables which were super fun to play in between commercial breaks. Definitely come by here! This place is bussin!

We went in here for dinner on Wednesday, March 19th around 7:30pm. We've been trying different restaurants around Fallon. First off, the place is beautiful. I love the ambiance of the modern industrial metal barn look. Our waitress was so friendly and kind. Unfortunately, the kitchen really was awful. I ordered the ribeye and the steak was good no complaints. They do serve frozen vegetables with it but totally fine. My dad's French dip sandwich with sweet potatoe fries was so bad. The meat was the driest oldest looking meat I've ever seen on a plate. I could have soaked the meat in the au juis for 10 minutes and it still would be beef jerky. Also his fries were cold. They probably cooked it immediately then waited 20 minutes for my steak to cook. My sister and her friend both ordered chicken fettuccine. First, it was not fettuccine. It was Angel hair pasta. That's fine, pasta is pasta but the chicken was processed cubed chicken clearly out of a frozen bag from some low level supplier! It looked like a frozen Marie Callender dinner from the grocery store but of lower quality. I wish I took pictures, but I was over it by then. We got two desserts determine not to let them ruin the night. $140 for four people to be served frozen low quality food. The chef and or manager clearly don't care what they serve to people. My dad didn't want me to say anything about his inedible food. He ate half of his sandwich and some of my steak and we tipped well because our waitress was great! If you go here go for Drinks Only maybe try some appetizers if you dare.

The food was good. I was so hungry that I did not get a picture of my French Dip. The French Dip was stacked with beef and I had a side salad instead fries. The salad was fresh and a good size. The place had a cool vide and I will definitely come back if I am out this way!!! The picture is of my friend Buffalo Chicken wrap which she said was very good.

After seeing a post on Facebook about the Grid I decided we needed to check it out. We are new to the area and starting to find new places to explore. What attracted to The Grid was they had a pizza posted on Facebook. I thought it looked amazing and I wanted to try it. Although we didn't see pizza on their menu. So we made the trip from the Carson City area to Fallon. The Grid isn't hard to find. It's literally right behind the Walmart on US50. There is plenty of parking and the building looks great. With outside seating. When you walk is it's very spacious with plenty of room. We were greeted by a gal named Shelb. Very friendly and informative about their brew selection and any questions we had. She talked me into trying a pumpkin spice ale. At first I was like hell no. I don't do the pumpkin spice thing. But I gave in and tried a small taste. I had to admit it was delicious. Needless to say I had a whole glass of it. LOL. We looked over the menu and decided on what we wanted to eat. My wife ordered a plain hamburger and I ordered the seafood sandwich which consisted of shrimp and crab meat in what looked to be a mayonnaise type of sauce. Served on a roll. My wife said the hamburger had no flavor and was just ok. My sandwich I thought was very good. Nice and light and went well with the ale I was drinking. We also ordered fried pickles as our appetizer and those were good. I don't even like pickles. So yes they were that good. The menu is pretty good. Lots of choices to choose from. The place is clean and really nice. I don't always judge place from one visit. So I'm sure we will be back to try some of the other items on the menu. So I think The Grid is worthy of 5 stars. It's an awesome place!

Back in my younger days, I served 8 years in the U.S. Navy, and left as a Petty Officer 2nd Class,…read morewhich isn't too shabby considering the short time that I served in the navy. Although a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer is only two pay grades above a 2nd class, a chief is light years ahead, and chiefs are awarded privileges that are in many ways superior to the privileges that many commissioned officers enjoy. As a long-ago 2nd Class Petty Officer, imagine my surprise when my friend Brent, a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, invited my friend Robert and I to join him at Sage and Sand CPO Club, at NAS, Fallon, NV, so I could be a "chief" for a day.. You have to love the Navy ship anchors in front of the building, which from the size of them, look like they came off a destroyer. NAS Fallon is many miles from the ocean, but it's a "Top Gun" base, as it trains and supports the men and women who fly "top gun" for the Navy. Unless you want to buy a round of drinks for everybody at the bar, DO NOT WEAR YOUR HAT, or "cover," in Navy terms, into the CPO Club. There is a small sign posted above the entrance to the bar that lets you know what is expected of you if you enter, "covered." Just inside the building there is a convenient board where you can hang your "cover" and then you won't have to buy a round of drinks at the bar. You've been warned, so just "do it." As you enter the main bar/dining room, you'll notice the full-circle bar, and the many television monitors that are playing a major league baseball game, on this early Thursday evening. As in Las Vegas, there's a sign above the bar that announces "What's said in here stays in here," and that's truly the motto for most U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officers and their guests. Sage and Sand CPO Club is not a restaurant, as it's more of a bar, and has the food catered and delivered. You place your order at the bar, and the bar conveys the order to the caterer, who is located nearby, and your meal is delivered to you in a styrafoam container, ready to enjoy. I saw the catering lady rush up to the bar with our "Shrimp Po' Boys'" in a bag, exchange a few words with bartender Val, and then she rushed off... "gone with the wind" before I could snap a photo. So... can you say "industrial food?" That's what I can say, which cost this "restaurant" a star for me on my Yelp review. I ordered a "Shrimp Po' Boy" sandwich, which gets you get lots of deep fried, battered shrimp, mostly small, served on a fresh, hoagie roll. Along with the shrimp, the sandwich is garnished with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, along with sweet and smoky aiouli sauce, and a small bottle of Tabasco sauce on the side. Along with all of that goodness comes a small cup of cocktail sauce, for your dipping pleasure. Pass the ketchup!!! You get lots of perfectly seasoned and deep fried shrimp on your hoagie roll, along with the tangy aiouli sauce, with the diced lettuce and fresh tomato slices. With your sandwich comes a small "mountain" of perfectly deep fried fries, which are seasoned, and crispy golden on the outside, and chewy, tender white on the inside. Sage and Sand CPO Club caters a great "Shrimp Po' Boy" sandwich. The sandwich was great, but it was catered, and in my opinion, rather "industrial" or "institutional" in taste, and quite generic. Too bad it wasn't made on site, and too bad the delivery person was in such a rush. Just to be fair... three stars isn't bad, and I plan to hit this place again the next time I visit my friend. If the sandwich was made on site, and if the server had the time to allow me to take her photo, presenting the sandwich, this restaurant could have easily qualified for for stars, or maybe even for a fifth star, especially after I'd enjoy a few of their cold beers.

After searching around…read morea bit I decided to come here given the large food menu and the decent cocktail selection based on the menu online. I am so glad I did and will be adding this to my rotation. I got lucky since they still had st pattys specials. I love scotch eggs and a good potato leek soup. Everyone was super attentive and friendly and they checked in on me regularly. I've never been a big pub person but they do it well with lots of spaces. I managed to get a table by the window so it was a smidge more quiet. The place was pretty packed by 7. I can't believe I've skipped this spot so many times. Sometimes your girl just needs to put away her champagne and touch some grass lol. I enjoyed it so much I came can the next day. I'm a creature of habit and I love good food so this will be part of my rotation. So glad I ventured out! The drinks are strong and heavy with a pretty good draft selection as well. Potato leek soup: so good I ordered it 2 days in a row. Asked for no sour cream dollop the second time. Scotch eggs: not easy to find and my goodness so delicious. The only time a scotch egg is bad is if the egg is overcooked. Not here! Calamari: i juicy and tender chunky pieces mmmmmm. Reminds me of the calamari in Australia. Cottage pie: didn't do the shepherds pie since I generally don't eat lamb. Pretty much the same with cheese on top. I do want to take my part Irish hubby here since I've never had shepherds pie made with lamb, even in Australia it was made with beef. The only dessert option is bread pudding so I skipped. But I will try it on a day I'm not too stuffed, which might be pretty hard with the portion sizes! Yummy food that's more than abundant in portion size, and a big enough variety to suit most palates. Drinks are equally big and tasty. Wonderful friendly attentive staff with the biggest smiles. What more can you want? See you next time!

If you ask me for places that stand out in the greater Reno-Tahoe region brew scene, The Good Wolf…read morewould be near the top of the list. For years now, I've been saying these guys make some of the best, most unique beers in our area. And anyone looking for a solid pint or some creative things to try, would do well to swing by. Firstly, I absolutely love the location. It's a cozy little spot in the north Truckee industrial area. But step through the doors, and you enter a space that can only be described as a mix of hippy commune and witch's lair, with some delightfully quirky decor, and an incredibly friendly staff. Really does feel like a hidden gem. But as for r the beers themselves; in short, I think these are some of the best quality, and most niche types of brews you'll find around here. They have a smaller menu, but what they have is dominated by their Forest Beer series. These are concoctions made with all sorts of foraged ingredients from the forests, fields, and farms close to Truckee. Always changing, it is something to try out. The Borrowed Bines used fresh cut hops, the Bay Shore uses locally culled bay leaves, the Range of Light uses picked juniper berries, and the Dirt Candy uses mushrooms that grow in the woods. They also have been breaking into brewing their own apple cider, which is delicious but quite strong. Plus, they will usually have N/A options with their house lemonade or brewed soda on tap, too. So yeah, the menu almost certainly has something for everyone. Prices for everything are pretty typical.for the area, usually around $8-9 per pint. Though my one sort of gripe is that the smaller 4-5 ounce tasters are like $4 each, a bit pricier than most other tasters, so that makes it quickly more pricy to try out a lot of their menu. If you want any beers to-go, sadly they only offer a few at this juncture, and in bottles. And there is no food here, just a few snacks for sale. But make sure to browse their swag stands, as they have some eclectic merch. All in all, I definitely encourage any beer fans to come and check this spot out. Been one of my favorites for years, and I'll bet it can easily become one of yours, too. Cheers, all!

Greeted immediately and sat at a sizable table, I noticed plenty of seating availability; however, space was rather tight with regard to table placement. We found the menu to be extensive and combed through the plethora of choices before landing on our final decisions. Always eager to try new things, I noticed there were quite a few specialty cocktails, including spiked milkshakes. I opted for the Vanilla Kahlua, and I would do it all over again! The milkshake was blended to perfection, smooth with a little razzle-dazzle you didn't know you needed. The kids opted for chocolate milkshakes they loved and rated 10/10. Very much like our other dining experiences, the kids settled on chicken tenders and fries while we, on the other hand, chose to explore our options. We started off with chilli cheese fries along with spinach and artichoke dip served with house-made tortilla chips. The portions for both appetizers were well-sized and delicious. We managed to get quite the cheese pull with the chilli cheese fries, and the house-made tortilla chips were most definitely worth writing home about; they were perfectly sized, light, and airy with an excellent amount of crisp that added texture to the flavorsome spinach and artichoke dip. For our entrees, he ordered the bacon egg and cheese burger with fries; there was an option for a turkey Reuben; however, I'm not a fan of sauerkraut, so I politely requested a turkey Rachel, and although it wasn't an option on the menu, they obliged much to my heart's delight! My sandwich was toasted impeccably with the right amount of butter melted, offering a decadent crisp that merged nicely with fillings making up my sandwich. Truthfully, I was beyond impressed with the aesthetic of the establishment, the services provided, and how flavorful the food was. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and engaging, which made our experience even more memorable, so much so that we eagerly anticipate our next visit.
