We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line. We perused the menu on the wall and though I am used to iTea and other boba places, I still had no idea what I wanted. I ended up ordering the Okinawa Milk Tea with 30% ice. Since it is made with brown sugar, there is not a sweetness level to choose from. I highly enjoyed my tea and would order it again. My friend ordered an Elegant Rose Tea which also did not have a choice of topping or sweetness level. After having a sip, I enjoyed the aloe at the bottom but the drink itself was too sweet for either of us. My friend said she'd order my drink next time. The restaurant is clean. Parking is very difficult around the area. I'm lucky that I found a spot within 5 mins, but had to walk about 2 blocks. I ordered a large jasmine green tea with boba, it was around $5. I considered it very affordable compared to most milk tea shop out there. I had my drink in 75% sweet, and it came out just right. I can definitely taste the tea flavor *awesome* (some places outside will have no tea flavor whatsoever). The only downside is the boba itself. The boba is either overdone or has been sitting there the whole morning as it is not chewy anymore, but It's just my reference to have chewy boba. Not a big deal. I keep forgetting this boba shop is located in downtown Hayward. I typically drive to Union City for my boba fix, but I need to make it a habit to visit this location more. It's located in downtown, so you'll need to find street parking or park on a garage nearby. I wish it was located in a plaza instead with better parking, but the location has great foot traffic once the pandemic is over. The prices are really good price, $3-4 for a regular drink, add 50 cents more for a large. Compared to crazy steep SF prices or some boba spots, I would say this is more on the affordable end. They do serve snacks here ranging from popcorn chicken to squid to egg puffs. We came here on a Saturday during lunch time and ordered the counter that had a glass separating you and the worker. We ordered earl grey milk tea with boba (large, low sweet/ice). wintermelon crema (large, low sweet/ice), and popcorn. There's no spice to the popcorn chicken but they provide self-serve chili seasoning and sauces for you to add. Total was around $17 incl tax, decent price for 3 items. Our order took awhile, roughly 15 min. The boba was perfectly cooked, not too hard nor soft. The drink wasn't too sweet and had the right blend of milk and tea. The popcorn chicken tastes pretty standard across all T4 location, so nothing out of the ordinary here. I do wish it came with more basil, we had only one piece. Finally a boba place in downtown Hayward, but soooo sad it's this. The service is great. The cashiers are friendly and willing to answer any questions. The drinks are okay, at best. When you ask for less sugar, there is very little consistency. I've gotten something with 80% sweetness and it's tasted less sweet than when I got it as 50% sweetness. It's a bummer. The popcorn chicken has an interesting taste. It doesn't taste like the popcorn chicken you usually get. It almost tastes sour. Weird. The hubs and I decided to check this place out to get something refreshing on a hot Memorial day. We ordered the Lychee Smoothie and the Watermelon Smoothie (which is currently their Summer special). Even though they call them smoothies, it's basically a slushie - fruit flavored blended ice. The Lychee was much sweeter than the Watermelon. The Watermelon tasted like they used real fresh watermelon. Both were delicious. It was very crowded and took more than 30 minutes for our 2 drinks. There was only one girl making the drinks. I think they need to hire more staff. They also offer a frequent visitor card. Buy 9 drinks and get the 10th for free! Make sure u ask for one if they don't offer it. I would definitely come back here to try their other offerings. Lots of people were ordering their popcorn chicken and fried tofu. I came here around 5:40 p.m. Inside, it was brightly lit, clean, and had plenty of seating (good for groups). They have a unisex single stall bathroom in the back, past the register. The bathroom was clean but has no mirror for some reason. I tried their classic rose milk tea which is one of their popular drinks indicated by the star symbol on the menu. You can adjust the level of sweetness and the amount of ice in your drink. You can also add toppings like boba or jelly. The drinks come in regular size (about 16 oz) and large. They also have hot snacks for you munch on (I saw someone order what looked like onion rings) if you like. My tea was made with 50% sweetness and 30% ice (because I don't like my drinks super cold and watery). My regular sized drink was under $3 which is a pretty good deal. The girl behind the counter was helpful and polite. The drink was made pretty quickly and they were already calling my number a couple minutes later. They had straws and to go drink sized bags on the counter. I took my drink to go. I was really impressed by how tasty the rose milk tea was! I can see why it is popular. Given that i've been to the T4 in San Leandro, San Ramon, i have to say this one definitely has the best service, quick, friendly, AND clean. I always order different drinks in a rotational order, (ex rose milk tea one week, matcha milk tea the next, etc) I don't think i've ever been disappointed in the drinks here, even when I order at 50% sweetness because I get what I order. Boba is always fresh/soft with a bit of chewiness. Their other toppings are also pretty good, like the grass jelly or pudding for those that don't like boba. Street parking can kind of be difficult around here, especially if you have a bigger car, but there's a parking garage nearby that you can park at for free! Hayward FINALLY has a good boba tea spot. First off let me say that I'm not the biggest tea fan but T4 has a killer Thai Milk Tea. What I like about this tea place is that they freshly brew all of the teas to order and the teas don't have the powder taste that other tea places have. My girlfriend got the Earl Grey Milk tea and that was really good as well. When I ordered my Thai tea I ordered it regular on the sweetness scale and it good but it needed to be sweeter. I asked the staff if they can make it sweeter and without hesitation they fixed my drink with a smile. (I never had such amazing service like that at a tea place). The staff here is super friendly and always have a smile on there face. When you do order your drinks I highly recommend getting your drink extra sweet because sweeter is always better. What else is cool about this place is that they have a stamp card. After you buy 9 drinks your 10th is free. I love places like this. They also have board games and cards so you can chill and relax with friends and family. Great place to bring your friends and family. New T4 in the downtown Hayward area, so decided to check it out. Came here and didn't check what time they open, my mistake, should had check because they open later than all the other T4s in the area (they open at 12 on weekdays and the other T4s are open 11 daily). Didn't want to wait a hour so I decided to come back at night after work, came right before 9:30 and they locked their doors already but inside it was packed with people sitting down, so I'm just there trying to open the door while the workers ignored me and I looked up and saw the open sign turned off so I didn't bother anymore. I checked already before coming here and they said they close at 10, that's what I don't get, why close 30 minutes earlier with no sign or anyone to inform me as I'm trying to open the door? Especially since there's still customers dining inside which confuses me. Came back a second time, finally get to tried their drinks! Probably won't be back unless I'm in the area and craving for my usual order, Jasmine green tea, but most likely will head to my usual San Leandro T4. Drinks here in the Hayward location a bit more expensive and tastes watered down. I grew up in San Jose, where milk tea is literally at every street corner. I was so excited that Hayward finally has a milk tea place that's legit. T4 is the typical milk tea place. You have a huge menu of different styles and varieties. Milk tea (hot or cold), fruit teas, slushes, etc. They also have board games and a decent amount of seating. Nothing I love more than getting BOMB milk tea, with no powder taste or texture (that means it isn't real milk tea) and sitting down and playing board games as I sip on my milk tea. Customer service at this specific T4 was amazing. They were so kind. The helped walk us through the menu on how much ice and sweetener is put in everything, that way you can adjust to your liking.
