I had a Verizon phone and lived in a part of Irvine that only gave me 1-2 bars and lots of unstable calls from my home and neighborhoood, so I finally decided to switch. Of course, it was a bit of a risk not knowing if T-mobile would be any better, but I thought I'd try it out. I was helped by Chris who was friendly and went out of his way to sign me up with a new phone and plan. Things took a little longer because Chris took care of everything, including his help to transfer my old number to this new carrier. Not to mention that he helped me to set up my phone's settings and transferred all my contacts and apps over to my new phone with the little gadget he had. Well, it took a few hours, but the number was finally transferred and my phone was up and running. I then gave Chris a call, and although I only had 1-2 bars on my phone, we were both happily surprised that the call was still very strong and very clear! I thanked Chris for all his help and he told me that he was always there for me if I should have any more questions or needed any more help with my phone. They check you in right away and let you know how many customers are ahead of you. Perhaps Tye is super attentive he also gave us a status report and offered us compliment water. I am a t mobile customer and walked in hoping they can provide me some guidance on a tmobile SIM card not reading a unlocked phone. We have been here over an hour waiting to be seen. This place is slower than the DMV. Tye claims to be a manager but spends his time doing nothing. In the hour we have been here he has walked around and put people's names on a list. Nothing else. A customer got very upset with him so he snapped back at them. I went in a few weeks ago to the t mobile in Irvine to buy the Samsung galaxy s20 +. Before opening the box the clerk asked me if I wanted a screen protector. I replied that I didn't because the phone already came with one. The clerk quickly replied that it didn't and even asked another clerk in the building just to prove me wrong. I didn't want to argue and with the whole covid 19 I was not able to touch the phone. Long story short. They sold me a $50 screen protector that came off in a week. It did not break or was pulled off. It just came off. To add salt the wound. I asked for a black phone and they gave me a Grey. I was unable to see the color cause one: they did not show me the phone and two: they installed the phone case on. I did not see the color until I removed it at home and by then I was too late. I didn't get the color I wanted (and I paid 1,400 + ! Paid in full! And they still had the audacity to rob me some more by LYING to me and removing the screen protector that came with the phone just to sell me another screen protector. Terrible service. !!! Tim A. should be a very valuable asset to T-Mobile. I had a very complicated situation between adding lines, two promotions, and number porting. I also had to return so cell spots. The wait at the store was a bit long (about 30 min) but once he got started, he listened and knocked things out step by step. As follow through, he clearly stated what would happen to credits and trade-ins. It all function perfectly. As much as I like TM, the systems and processes aren't that easy and agents are prone to mistakes. After 4 on phone agents, Tim fix all the issues within one visit. As much as I was tired about the wait, I can understand why it took long with the great service that was provided. This is by far best service I've had in years. read more

This is my 3rd time at this location (I strictly come in to pay our phone bills) It's definitely known that unless your going to fork over $$ to these sales dudes (I say dudes because everytime I go in its nothing but dudes standing around) they won't pay you any mind. This last time was just ridiculous, I came in on a Monday afternoon (08.29.16) the store was dead, I was the only customer at the time of my transaction and the employee that I encountered was extremely friendly or "customer service orientated" I was paying my bill and asking a question about one of the phones on the account and he was just so dry. Here's my reason for the one star rating: While processing my payment I overhear the other employees that are clearly not working at all and BSing around talking about wanting to change schedules and one proceeds to say to another one: "When are you going to nail her?!" EXCUSE ME?! How inappropriate! Is this what T-Mobile pays their employees to do?! To have inappropriate sexual conversations with other employees while customers can hear?!! Save that talk for the break room, not on the floor when customers can walk in the store at any given time and could possibly fork over hundreds of dollars on a new phone! I was so appalled and taken back. My sister and I are both in the market for new phones but do you really think I'm going to give them our business?! Absolutely NOT! Summary-rude and unprofessional Yesterday 28-Aug-2011 I went to this store at 5:30PM to buy a prepaid connection for my wife. I was accompanied by my wife and 3-year old daughter, at that time there were two employees present (Massimo and tall guy(I don't remember his name) ) Both of them were busy with customer, 'tall guy' greeted me and said he will be with me shortly. Around 5:43 another customer walks in, at 5:45 Massimo get free and straight goes to new guy who just walked in and was standing right next to me. Initially I thought that he might! be a returning customer to just handover something but then they started talking about plans and phones. I was taken aback and went to 'tall guy' to talk about this, to my utter surprise he very rudely said that why are you talking to me about this, if you can wait I will be with you once I am done. I don't understand how come Massimo not observe that I am there for last 15 min when I am with a 3 year old who is constantly talking and there are hardly 6-7 people present in store, also I was directly in front of him playing with tablets, second even if he missed me he should have asked as to who came first. The guys here are very friendly but absolutely clueless as to what they're doing. I went in to sign up for a plan in early Nov. 1. At first when specified "postpaid" the lady said there will be a credit check. I immediately told her that if its a "hard inquiry" i'm not going to switch from AT&T. Lady said it would be a "soft inquiry". Lo and behold, I have a hard inquiry on my credit report 48 hours later. 2. I specifically gave them my driver's license (containing old address) and the DMV address correction card (containing new address). They enter my old address in and the bill gets sent to the wrong place. Almost paid the first bill late. Thank god for reminder txt that Tmobile sends (improvement over ATT). 3. I went for the "unlimited international" plan because I do a lot of international traveling. Light bulb: reason i switched over from AT&T. I start traveling, tmobile works properly, and it dies 20 minutes after i arrive at foreign destination. Why? I didn't use it "enough" before traveling. Stupid, stupid, stupid. They said it was due to "potential fraud". Are you kidding me? I verified social security, gave driver's license copy, and signed my life away at an ACTUAL TMOBILE STORE (not reseller like best buy or target) and someone there had the audacity to freeze my account literally 24 hours after i left the store. Stranded me without a communication device and did not call or text me. Their reason? "Due to time zone difference, didn't want to call/txt me when its late at night" I complained and they gave me a 2 or 3 day credit, not close enough to cover the time i lost to the situation. She said that there was a promotion and they will be with me soon. After about 30 minutes of waiting (which I have no problem with because it was busy), she told me to come back later because "I have no idea what I'm looking for, and Josh will be here later". So he consulted with his manager Eddie and they took care of me and just replaced my device since it was still within the 14 day period. The ability to provide the resolution quickly exceeded my expectations. I really commend the prompt service provided by Cory B. Worst customer service from a T-Mobile store, especially from the so-called store manager. Don't come here. My wife and I came here this morning after hearing about complimentary umbrellas being given to T-Mobile customers. Waited in line and was met by someone who claimed to be the store manager. He told me to click "redeem" on the T-Mobile app. I opened and looked through the T-Mobile app on my phone and couldn't find anything. Instead of helping me, he callously told me to go away to find other employees for help and then come back to him when I'm ready. Then he ignored me and proceeded to play cute with 4 or 5 customers behind me, while I was struggling to make sense of what was said. It's actually the "T-Mobile Tuesdays" app and not the "T-Mobile" app, as I was given the wrong information. As the "store manager", he could have easily taken 3 seconds of his precious time to look at my phone to see which app I was struggling with and helped me right away, instead of being condescending and acting high and mighty. Mistreating customers like this, especially from a "store manager" who should set good examples, will surely send T-Mobile on a race to the bottom. You don't care about your customers, and you soon won't have customers to care about. read more

MMS text messaging not working with switch to T Mobile!! I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and recently changed mobile carriers from Verizon to T-Mobile. I indicated I did not want to buy a new phone and was reassured by the salesperson that my S7 (purchased from Verizon) will be fully functional with the switch from Verizon to T mobile. It turns out that I am no longer able to receive or send MMS text messages (texts which includes pics, videos) or be in group chats, regardless of what messenger app I am using. I have spoken to three different T-Mobile tech support personnel who all immediately commented that the problem is a common issue when using the phone from another carrier. Not being able to send and receive MMS messages and not being able to use Mobile hot spot are apparently the most common problems when switching carriers and keeping your phone. They have tried changing settings without success and said there is nothing they can do. The store salesperson never mentioned that this would be a problem - so I guess either she was hiding that fact so she can make the sale, or she was ignorant of the problem. When I called and asked her about it she simply claimed "most" phones should be fine, which is far different then the repeated assurances she provided me during the sale. Her solution was to have me buy a new phone (no surprise there!) T-Mobile either needs to be upfront about these issues and not mislead their customers, or train their salesperson better so that they are not ignorant of the issues that can arise. Of course, having to deal with worse signal quality now only makes things worse. Seriously considering switching back to Verizon. I doubt T mobile will be refunding the activation fees they charged when I made the switch. Very unhappy with T Mobile! read more

Provided all my requirements for a phone that could port over to Verizon if the T-Mobile service didn't work from my Irvine business (home). The sales person #3996928 LIED and told me the best scenario would be to purchase the phone outright instead of signing a 2-year contract based on my needs. He also told me I had to use the phone for 60 days before it could transfer to Verizon if I needed to do so. On 5/3/15 I purchased a Samsung S 5 for $620.90 so I didn't have to sign a service contract. The phone worked periodically, dropped calls while I was on the phone with customers so went to store on 9/3/15 spoke with Matt, Retail Associate Manager, explaining that I contacted Verizon to port over but was not compatible. The rep lied when he told me, "phone is not locked and can be transferred to Verizon, if necessary". Well the truth is yes, the phone is not locked however the phone can not be used at Verizon because the "frequency" built into the phone is NOT COMPATIBLE with Verizon. Really, why would I pay $620.90 full retail for a phone rather than get it for free with a 2-year contract. Obviously, my requirement was to transfer to Verizon if T-Mobile service didn't work. The rep LIED and Matt supported his deceit! Why did the rep tell me to use the phone for 60 days before transferring to Verizon? HE KNEW about the 14 day return policy! Spoke to Michelle and Donovan from T-Mobile Customer Loyalty - they recommended store to give me a full refund but Matt and his District Manager (they'd never provide me with name nor was I ever contacted) declined the refund. I even asked if they'd replace the Samsung with an iPhone 6 that WOULD be compatible with Verizon. No, they didn't even call me back when they "said" they would. I've now reached out to the Better Business Bureau and will continue the fight! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE...THEY LIE, ARE HORRIBLE BUSINESS PEOPLE AND BASICALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! I'm an intelligent person, who provided all my requirements for my remote business and they LIED, MISREPRESENTED and HAVE NOT TRIED TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE.
