So, since i needed a new phone I still needed to have my info sent to the new phone from the old phone. Since I couldn't actually use the screen I couldn't approve the transfer. I e been to Smart Cell before and they were super fast and efficient. This time was no different. The cost was $150, and I'm not sure if it's a fair price compared to other cell repair places, but i prefer small businesses over someone like Best Buy Geek Squad. It didn't take long for the transfer, and he was able to get everything. Everything! Very happy about that. So money well spent in my opinion. I brought my phone in to fix the selfie camera and they charged Me $50 upfront to calibrate it. When I came to pick it up he told me it needed a new camera and he wanted another $120 to fix it. He should have been upfront from the beginning and not try to take advantage of the situation. Dont waste your time with this guy, he is dishonest. I also had to change a battery but he never told me it wasnt an OEM battery but a knockoff. Every time I went to charge the phone it said unauthorized battery. Yelpers, highly recommend you look elsewhere if you you're looking to get a cracked screen replaced. I brought in a older iPhone for a cracked screen replacement and overall it was a quick process. I got in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes and the new screen worked great at first. I found them via Yelp quote and they were very responsive. Although they weren't the lowest price, I decided to go with them due to their responsiveness. However, a mere four days later their replacement screen cracked! All I did was set the phone on my countertop. My phone even had a protective case. While I understand the screen was an aftermarket product (and this was also made clear to me by the person fixing it), it should be able to withstand being placed on a countertop. It wasn't even dropped or anything like that. It was normal everyday use and it clearly should've held up a lot longer than four days. The screen was either defective or the installation was wrong. So I went in this get this resolved and the same person basically told me I was SOL and I had to pay full price to get a new screen. He pointed out that no warranty on new screens was offered. After explaining to him that it broke after setting the phone on a counter, the person was rude about it and refused even consider that the screen was poor quality and/or the install was wrong. This was the same person in the video another reviewer posted. He would not even consider meeting me in the middle somewhere, honestly I probably would've been ok with a discounted price. So yeah, definitely look elsewhere. These types of shops are a dime a dozen and it should be easy to find a place with better pricing AND better service! I thought everything was fine until my phone broke again less than 2 weeks after bringing it here. I should've known that it was shotty work since I could see the glue through the back glass. I Couldn't go back to have them replace and had another company swap out my back glass again. The second company that replaced it showed me the crappy way they glued the back glass and how much glue they got in the phone and on all the ribbon cables in the phone. Yet they didn't use any glue I. The middle of the glass so of course it broke. No to mention All this glue messed up the power button cable and now my phones power button doesn't work. DO NOT GO HERE! My phone needed the cracked glass replaced. When I picked up the phone, my phone wasn't working (it was functioning perfectly before - just needed the glass replaced). After troubleshooting with my carrier for over an hour, it was determined something happened during the "repair". I needed to get the front glass of my iPhone X replaced before trading it in and this place was only one of two stores near me that performed the glass only refurbishing/repair service. The price was cheaper than an aftermarket screen replacement and this method definitely looks original. I didn't have time to stay for the repair so I dropped it off to Shawn. I told him I won't be back for a few days so they can take their time if they wanted to. He gave me a call the next day but I didn't go back until a few days later. Once I got the phone back, I inspected it definitely looked original without any frame or bezel issues. Satisfied with the repair, I then packed it up and shipped it out at the post office down the street.
