I love this place. We, as well as other people I know, will drive a round trip from Shreveport just to dine here. Always fast customer service with wonderful, cheerful attitudes. Everything always comes to the table perfect. Most of the waitresses are knowledgeable about the menu. Reasonable prices for what you receive. Besides the awesome service what drags me here the most is the perfect salsa and fried avocado. I wish they would sell their salsa to go by the gallon. Pure heaven. I have had fried avocado attempts at a few local restaurants and they just can't get it right. I do like their stuffed avocados here. I've had both the chicken and shrimp and I prefer the shrimp...good quality shrimp in it that taste like shrimp. However I find the stuffed avocados have too much cheese and it is hardened up too much by the time it reaches me and, well, just distracts too much from the fried avocado goodness. I most crave the slices of fried avocado dipped into their creamy jalapeno dip. Perfection. Nothing else needed. Their frozen Crown and Coke isn't too shabby either. Grilled quail, fajitas, all yummy. Special mention on the mac n cheese my kids love here. It's made with real cheese and it's gooeylicious. Happy Hour every day from 2 - 6. My first experience with Tblanco's was excellent. Was in the area for business and I asked about a recommendation for TexMex. Several people agreed that I needed to go to Tblanco's. I had lunch in the smaller bar area and asked the person who sat me at the table what she thought was the best thing on the menu... tamales! I ordered a combo meal of tamales and enchiladas- it was great! Plenty to eat, free refills, extra chips and salsa. I definitely was full! Parking was easy, there was no wait - got there just before the rush, and the place was clean, efficient and well organized. I could see the kitchen from where I was seated and the lunch crew were all helping each other and getting the food out pretty fast. I'm doing my review now because I'm headed back to the Longview area again next week and I'm planning on stopping in for dinner this next time and see how things go. Chile relleno was fabulous I've never had one done like this is so good. Fried avocado done and little segments amazing. I have to come longview for work every once in awhile and this place is always on the way. While my co workers really like this place I cant say I feel the same. I was really disappointed in my chile relleno. Way too greasy and the sauce didnt go with it. Ive had the cajunchilada which has crawfish in it and is probably the most decent item but dont ever get the mexican fried rice. co-worker couldnt eat more than a few bites because it was just too greasy. The menu is all over the place from burgers to quail to cajun and all with a tex mex twist. My chile relleno was $14 after tax and with water. Expensive lunch. read more

Dang!! What a pleasant surprise!! We were flying out of the Longview International Airport (aka East Texas Regional) for a fun getaway to Nevada, and arrived crazy early. Beyond disappointing. We've ate here numerous time, the last few times our orders have been incorrect. Thought eh third times a charm? We also had family in town, called ahead and we were told there was no wait. Get there and waited for an hour - a table of five took an hour!!! We talked to the hostess and we were told they were having trouble putting together a table as they only seat four. She said it should be 15-20 minutes at most. 30 minutes later, everyone was sat before us. Even those that came in long after us. We left. I come to Longview to visit my parents occasionally, & T. Blanco's is my favorite out of all the restaurants I've been to here. Staff is super friendly, attentive & very quick with requests. The whole restaurant is clean. We sat on the patio which is very cute with string lights, tvs, & heaters in the cold. Also, the view is really pretty! Now, the food!! Everything I've eaten there is so good. I love the Mojo Shrimp enchiladas. It's so good - like everything. HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

Spent the evening with my family at this restaurant, and when we arrived we were seated quickly. Our waitress was very good and attentive. I ordered a meal marked as a TBlanco favorite: the stacked enchiladas with shredded beef, the grilled corn and refried beans. How this is a favorite is beyond me. Everything tasted like it had been prepared, refrigerated/frozen, then microwaved. My son ordered the two stuffed avocado dinner and he said it was fairly good but could've been better. He mentioned the reheated taste as well. My wife ordered fajitas for one, and she said the meat had a good flavor and was tender, but it also had a reheated taste. The chips and salsa are very good. The tea is excellent. The atmosphere was pretty good with the exception of a couple of kids running around unattended and opening the patio access doors letting in the stifling heat, but management resolved that issue quickly. I started to give just 2 stars, but the waitress was the tipping point for me to give 3. Overall, TBlanco's is a fair experience but not worth the price and drive. read more

The night before Thanksgiving and we are eating here. Staff is amazing. Packed space. Great food. It was clear that the kitchen was overwhelmed, but they pulled it out. Best enchiladas and guacamole. When I first started going here, it seems as if they made a strong effort to stand out. Both in service and food. Now they seem content to rest on their laurels and their laurels aren't good enough on which to rest. The location is good news - bad news. The good news is that if you are on your way to or from Lake Cherokee, this is a prime spot. The bad news is that if you're not on your way to or from Lake Cherokee, it is a planned trip to get here and it's not worth the trip. I've had several things on the menu and the stacked enchiladas have become my go to dish. Most everything else fails. The hot sauce is weak, the queso congeals to rubber cement texture within minutes and there's nothing else that inspires until the entree arrives. The menu is different but different is not always good, especially if execution is not a top priority. The service has become just plain weak. It is slow, inattentive and they often times get things wrong. Last time there, my son ordered chicken fajita nachos and got beef fajita salad. How the hell does that happen? I have several friends who like it and I'll always enjoy a meal with friends (the atmosphere is fun), as far as food, service and location, this place just misses the mark. read more

We got a basket of broken, stale and probably left over chips. Asked for a fresh chips with the queso. Overall, Longview has much better Tex-mex food, quality and cleanliness. The margaritas are SO good and the margaritas are strong. Tblanco's has a beautiful outside patio with a lot of shady trees. Try the enchiladas (of any kind, SO GOOD, the fried avocado, the stuffed seafood jalapenos, the queso famleado, and everything else...that's basically what I can suggest. The negative was the service. I honestly think they were just understaffed for as many people as they had coming in. However, our server was rocking it and working his ass off to make sure we were served. He did a great job! For a small town with few options, this place is definitely worth going to. I'd go to Tblanco's even if it were in Austin. Next time you're in the Lakeport/Lake Cherokee area, give Tblanco's a try! read more

Suppa- Not sure what all the fuss is about. Let's get to it. Facility- I like it. Roomy, clean, different areas for all occasions. Dining room is broken up nicely. A bar. A patio. Could use more parking but hey, it works. It's got decent decor. Staff- they are friendly. They help each other. ... but there is something missing. Maybe it's the timing from the kitchen. The staff could kick it up a notch but would need help getting there. Food- 1 Star. I ordered the chicken/spinach enchiladas with grilled vegs. The water from the spinach was not drained off. It saturated the chicken and the tortilla. Once I opened it up, my plate went wet. Not much taste. The queso was there but you wouldn't know it when it entered your mouth. The chips were fresh but tasteless. The salsa was good. We also split an order of seafood stuff jalapeno's. They had some nice bite. Cost- for the food quality, it wasn't worth it. Tblanco's is a restaurant located alongside a busy road near the Longview Airport. It is in a somewhat rural, less populated area, the sort of area one might expect to find eating establishments that offer good food at a value price. TBlanco's does not quite live up to this expectation. This was my second visit to Tblanco's within the past 5 years, and my first impression of the place after the first visit, was that it was a reasonably good Mexican restaurant but WAY overpriced for what is received. My opinion was not to be changed by this recent visit. Our party of 4 arrived at Tblanco's about 12:30 on a weekday afternoon. The lunch crowd was starting to taper off and we were able to secure a table without much waiting. Our waiter was slow to appear, 10 to 15 minutes, and took our drink orders. He was somewhat harried but returned with our drinks, 4 glasses of water, about 10 minutes later. We placed our order and the waiting game continued. Trying to reduce the calorie count I ordered their S&S Special for $9.99, which was a small taco salad and a bowl of tortilla soup. Everyone else ordered off the lunch menu. We waited at least another 30 minutes to receive our lunch. Good thing no one in our party "punched out" for work or was in a hurry to be anywhere. When my soup and salad arrived, I almost laughed, and would have were it not that I was a guest of someone else in the party. My salad was an impossibly small puffed corn tortilla about as big as a large scoop of ice cream, with a tiny bit of lettuce and cheese inside and a few pieces of fajita meat, on the bottom, all hiding inside the bean bag sized taco shell. Along side my micro salad was a small container of what tasted like straight sour cream but had the consistency of ranch style salad dressing. Not sure what it was, but it was very bland. Served separately, was an equally small square bowl, containing maybe a 1/2 cup (4 oz) of tortilla soup. The tortilla soup was just OK and tasted fine but was unlike any tortilla soup I've had at finer restaurants around Dallas and San Antonio. The meal was a complete joke, and caused me some concern. How was I going to eat this micro meal slow enough to finish about the same time as my host? The salad itself, what little there was, tasted about how you would expect considering what it was. Lettuce, cheese, tough but well seasoned fajita meat and not much else. And that my friends was a $10.00 lunch, plus tip! My fellow diners seemed well satisfied with their meals so I can't offer an opinion of their meals except to say they seemed to like it. The time for our meal, from walking in the door to walking out, was about 1-1/2 hours, and we wasted no time getting out of the place. TBlanco's seems to have located themselves in a perfect spot for a restaurant. A somewhat remote location without much restaurant competition, close enough to an airport/industrial area staffed with folks who can't travel far for better, cheaper options. You'll pay a premium price at TBlanco's but you won't get the premium service or food, and the odds are high you may be stopping for a snack at the nearest gas station on your way back to work. I hope it is at least another 5 years before returning. read more

The atmosphere is really nice and they are very friendly. The menu items and description sounded appealing. But the taste was kind of meh. I'm not sure what spice they are using but it permeates everything. Maybe paprika? The queso sounded amazing so we got a bowl. Again with that spice and the cheese itself tasted like velveeta. We also ordered the sopapilla cheesecake. Again the concept and descriptions sounded amazing but the taste was meh. The service was really, really good. The food was not so great. First let me say that this is not your ordinary Mexican food place. You are greeted when you first walk up to the door by an amazing mosaic on the wall outside the front door! Beautiful! But alas, we didn't come here to gaze at the lovely rocks in the mortar. The owner took an old house, converted it into a commercial kitchen and table seating spaces. He then added a bar and outdoor seating area out back - beautiful. The front of the bar has similar mosaic designs - just sayin'! (Ok, so I am a rock geek! - whatever!) The food here is more southern Mexican to Central American than your typical Tex-Mex. The salsa has a bit of spice to it, but is also a bit creamy so it sticks to your tortilla chips nicely! Fajitas here are very tasty - not too much seasoning on them, so you can taste the meat - if you are so inclined. Guacamole here is excellent - try some! I have had several items on the menu at different times - salads, quesadillas, enchiladas. My husband loves the Flameado - it is the special of the day on Tuesday I think. Regardless of what you select off the menu, it is prepared fresh and comes out to you hot! Service here is maybe the weakest link. Other reviewers have mentioned their disappointment, I have not experienced it. The only think I will mention, though is that it seems that several of the waitstaff are very young and seem inexperienced in this field. Sometimes, getting the hang of a job takes a little while, being a really good waiter/server takes discernment and attention to detail. These things can be developed, but most times, they are things that a person has to be born with. I love this place, so I hope, like other reviewers, that the waitstaff can get some stability and consistency going! read more

However, the tables are so close together that the back of my chair was against the person's chair at the table directly behind me - very awkward and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the food was the most bland Tex mex I've ever tasted and the white "queso" actually tasted like melted Italian cheeses..like a Parmesan taste. When I eat the -mex, I need some flavor!
