As a huge fan of breakfast and someone that has gone to many different breakfast restaurants this one is at the top of the list. The atmosphere is bright, the wait staff if kind and attentive, and the food is delicious! Tried many different menu items but the waffle flight was a favorite. Not super impressed with the potatoes, they were a little burnt and dry. The biscuits in biscuits and gravy were great but I would stick to a diner for good gravy. Orange juice in the mimosa was fresh and one of the best I've had. Our waitress, Alicia, was very sweet and helpful. Overall, I would stick to a diner if you're looking for the classics, but the other, more innovative menu items were fantastic! Definitely will be back. read more

After only one visit it is clear that this is the highest quality breakfast spot in the NW suburbs.

The whole experience was amazing, syrup had a fresh clean look with fun decor everywhere. We went on a busy Friday morning and the owner welcomed us in and sat us. The waiters and staff all around were so friendly and helpful. Our kids ate everything they ordered (which is huge) and they loved sitting and coloring the fun kiddie menus. The food and presentation was great. Fun morning out as a family and I didn't have to clean up the kitchen afterwards-BONUS! Will definitely be going back! read more

Good food and good service i love this place and the way the employees show good service.

I have enjoyed Syrup with my girlfriends and my boys. The favs have been the mini flight waffles, banoffee pancakes, the steak & eggs, cinnamon roll pancakes, and Barratta Fig Salad. Oh the upgrade of the loaded breakfast potatoes are so worth it. The favorite drinks were the limeades and the mule. My boys are in love with the Billion Dollar Bacon, they have ordered it both times they have eaten there! read more

Food is delicious. I had a chicken panini - my husband had the breakfast sliders. It did not disappoint. On top of that, we also ordered specialty coffees. Um I'll go back just for one of those. And their special bacon is so good! This place is always busy - but definitely worth the wait. read more

This place! Out this way for a hockey tournament and found this gem. We had pancakes, French toast, fried chicken with chorizo gravy, sliders - everything was fantastic! Wish you had a location on the north shore! read more

Best food in town! Our server Saul provided great customer service. Will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend...

We came back after a disappointing first try back in August. I have to say they really turned it around and the food was amazing!!! We will be coming back! read more

I love that this place has different milks almond milk and coconut milk and a lot of gluten-free and vegan options but their syrup is made out of corn. For a place that has everything else and the prices are not cheap $50 with tip for two coffees and two entrées, they should have real maple syrup since the name is called Syrup. I have a corn allergy and wasn't told about it until the end of the meal that you could pay an up charge of two dollars for real maple syrup. Which I gladly would've done if I knew. Still a new place so they have some issues with the food being correct but everything was yummy and pricey. read more

Our server was great and the food was pretty good. We waited for less than our assigned waiting time when we walked in. The only reason I took a star off was that when we were waiting for our table, I saw was server clean something off the bottom of his shoe and proceeded to grab a cup of milk with the same hand around the rim. read more

Food was great. Customer service even better. Even when I needed more napkins there was always someone else that asked what we needed. The general Manager (I think he was the general manager) David told us about the new alcoholic drinks and we all got bloody Mary's! DELICIOUS. I ordered a bacon chocolate chip waffle again. when it came out, bacon and chocolate chip was dressed on top, not inside like it was when I first had it. David was nice enough to take my entree off my check! It was made wrong , but still tasty. I came by 3rd time yesterday with my wife and she ordered a butcher omlete. Another manager came by to our table and asked how was everything. We notified her that my wife order the butcher omlete, and didn't realize it wasn't the right omlete until the first few bites. Because she ate some, we were told by her that we had to pay full price! Ridiculous! Not that it wasn't made wrong, it wasn't the right omelet. She said those were the rules & she didn't even offer us to have it remade! read more

Would not order eggs Benedict again. Very generous cut of ham that overpowers combination of flavors and textures. Barely any hollandaise sauce. So little and thin it only covered the egg. read more

First time here and I love this place! I highly recommend you give it a try. I was at my doctor next door and decided to give this place a try. It used to be another restaurant which was renovated into Syrup. The entire inside has been remodeled, I love the ambiance of this place. It is completed remodeled, clean, new furniture, etc.. Staff is very friendly and welcoming; food is fresh (fresh produce is their thing), coffee is very good (nothing worse than a breakfast place that serves cheap disgusting coffee - not the case here). I'll be back, so happy I stopped in. I recommend everyone give this place a shot. P.S. Their homemade pancake syrup is to die for!!!! read more

Food was awesome and service was speedy. Went outside the box and had a pesto sandwich and was blown away by it. We were sat very quickly even though at had a party of 6. Can't wait to go back. read more

Love the food it really is amazing! Whoever works as the chef and in the kitchen deserves a raise. Consistently good!!!!

This place is a goldmine of awesome food. They do flights of food and booze. Who wouldn't want that? Great way to try a lot of things. Menu had so many amazing and creative selections. Highly recommend having brunch there. read more

Syrup has subpar food and serve the food on dirty dishes. When I went to reach out and grab my plate on the bottom of it I noticed that it was dirty. I lifted my plate up higher to look under it, when I saw hard crusty food under my plate I lost my appetite. This wouldn't have been that big of a deal if it was one plate but it was under 5 different plates. I recommend this place to anyone who likes to waste money and get served food on a dirty dish. Burnt toast across the street is way cheaper and more sanitary. read more

We had a great breakfast and great service! I had the Toffana pancakes and they were AMAZING! Their sweet cream syrup paired perfectly with it and made the breakfast taste like a dessert! My husband ordered the Cluck Cluck skillet which he thoroughly enjoyed. The portion sizes were very large and both of us were only able to eat half of our meals so we had plenty to eat for breakfast the following day. Our server, Tee, was friendly and her service was very attentive. We didn't wait very long at all to have our food served and it came out nice and hot. We were very impressed with everything about this place and although the prices are a bit higher than other local restaurants, the quality, portion size and excellent service makes it worth every penny! Can't wait to visit this establishment again! read more

This has been my favorite breakfast spot around! They told us 40 minute wait on a Sunday and we were inside seated less than 30. The limeade is so damn good and refreshing. The food servings were huge! The roasted potato's are great, the breaded chicken was one of the best tasting I've had. Specialty pancakes also delicious. Everyone was really nice inside. If you have to wait, you have to wait. It seems like it's very popular and for good reason. Worth the wait. read more

Made from scratch, amazing! Even the toast and home made jelly is awesome! We had the banana strawberry Nutella crepes, cluck cluck with funky monkey banana bread French toast (Oh Em Gee) we had the avocado toast and Even that was amazingggg, the waffle sliders even the frappes are amazing better than McDonald's or even Starbucks frappes. It's not ice at the bottom it's ALL FRAPPE read more

Very noisy place. Sort of late lunch time, 12:30 or so. Ordered a "Lemon zest mascapone rasberry compote & vanilla custard drizzle topped with Syrup made lemon curd syrup. Sounds gooh huh? They were out of raspberrys. Subed black berries. Got a room temperature waffle with black berries, thats all. No mascapone, no drizzles, nothing. I was in kind of a hurry as I had an appointment at 1:45 so I couldn't wait for a redo. No apologies. Guess they close at 2 because they started sweeping the floors at 1:20 or so. Needless to say I will go to the Burnt Toast location right across the street in the future. read more

Very pricey! We were sat next to a exit door going to a tented area and the door kept slamming all the time we were there with waiters in and out. Soup was cold, proportions are very small, but food was good. Nothing but excuses from the wait staff. read more

Really enjoyed breakfast - service was attentive despite being very busy. Large menu with many unique items! Looking forward to returning!

The food was absolutely delicious and one of a kind. The skillets are to die for. The pancakes hit the spot, recommend the s'moreo. Only gave 4 stars because we waited 15 mins past pick up time for curbside and then had to send my sister inside to go get the food instead of having it delivered to my car on time. Would have gave 5 stars had that not happened. I will be returning in the future to try something different on the menu because it all looks great. read more
