Bella's Short Stack came highly recommended from people on Yelp. I personally live 300 miles away…read morein St. Louis, but my extended family lives in this area. So, when visiting them, we decided to stop by here for breakfast. The atmosphere is cute, I guess. Neighborhood greasy-spoon/diner vibe, with obvious regulars and staff greeting them. Our waitress was brash and frankly, barely came around, so maybe they favor the regulars here? Not sure. I asked for an Iced Coffee, was given bland cold brew. The food was decent but not great. The Irish Benedict was very heavy, and the hollandaise sauce tasted like grease. My Dad got a Traditional Breakfast. He said the eggs were fine but the sausage was slick with grease. The best item was the pancakes, so I guess this restaurant is named accordingly. No, I wouldn't come back, due to the mediocre service and food. However, this location has shut down/is shutting down since I visited a few weeks ago. Can't say I'm surprised!

We put our order in and received it within minutes. I ordered an ham and cheese omelette with Wheat bread. My wife got an egg fried hard and sourdough bread. The hash browns were hot, salty and crispy. Just the way they should be. The place is new and decorated with old antique toasters. It has about ten or more counter seats. The overall experience was excellent. Reasonable prices. Nice

I don't like to write a lot of reviews but I really have to commend this place…read more To preface everything, my family and I visit this restaurant often. I was there on Easter Sunday with my family enjoying my (delicious) meal when we heard some commotion at a nearby table. The commotion was coming from a server who seemed to be having some sort of informal meeting with upper management. The server was basically yelling at upper management and being very rude. I don't even think upper management was able to get a word in. Since I'm always here with family, I know one of the managers on a first name basis (Eric). Eric is such a kind and helpful employee. He was one of the individuals being yelled at by this server. I'm not sure the other managers name but she had dark hair. They did a great job handling the very uncomfortable situation. I felt so bad for both of them having to deal with this situation on top of a holiday weekend. Besides the managers handling this situation with such grace, everything else was awesome! I ordered the veggie skillet and iced latte. Both were delicious as always! I will continue to support this restaurant as they truly are kind individuals with amazing food!

I've been there many times, pre-renovation, and now twice since renovation. One of the things I like most is that the owner so clearly loves what she's doing and is almost always there, interacting with customers and bringing cheer and warmth. The place feels--especially in the summer time--like sitting on a European street. The food is always tasty (the deviled eggs especially), the drinks are creative. I could use a slightly wider cocktail list that incorporates varying base spirits and experiments a bit more, but what they serve up is good.

The menu isn't overwhelming which is nice. They have a variety of plates but not enough of a choice to make you look for days. We ordered cocktails, which were nice and strong, but also refreshing. The open air made it feel like we were in a vacation resort. Our server was polite and would go and check about anything we had questions about. Real top notch fella. We started with raw oysters which were good. I ordered the gnudi (gnocchi) with red sauce and beef short rib (server's recommendations). My spouse had the lab chops. We both loved our meals. The presentation and flavors were all there. I think it's a nice place to go to on occasions because it's a bit more expensive than I expected, but the flavors and meals made it worth the cost. Staff was great, space was clean and airy, food was great.

The server, I believe her name was April, was very sweet and attentive. She surprised us with a dessert that had a sparkling candle , resembling a sparkler firework. Our faces lit up with excitement as the server happily took pictures for us. It was definitely the perfect final touch to our dining experience. With curiosity of wanting to know more about this restaurant, we asked questions about the history and back story. The lady that helped us, gave us the opportunity to take a quick tour, with information that allowed us to feel more connected to and appreciative of this business. My husband and I left full & satisfied with confidence that this place is our new favorite spot for any special occasion.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance with dim, intimate lighting and a clean, modern presentation. It feels polished without being stiff, refined but still welcoming. Most importantly, it delivers where it counts, on the plate. We started with the lamb lollipops, cooked precisely to temperature and finished with crushed pistachios, pomegranate, and a rich demi-glace. Each bite delivered depth, brightness, and texture. The Dungeness crab croquettes were equally impressive, crispy on the outside with a delicate, herbaceous interior. Rich, but never heavy. The French onion soup is an experience in itself, served in a hollowed onion. Bold, deeply savory, and incredibly comforting. Service elevated the night even further. Our server, Karra, asked if we'd sharing and had the kitchen split our entrées into individual portions, a thoughtful touch. The steak arrived perfectly cooked, and exactly as ordered. We finished with the English sticky toffee pudding, warm, gooey, and unapologetically decadent. Montarra doesn't chase trends. It executes upscale dining with precision, care, and genuine hospitality. That is exactly why it stands out, and why I'll keep coming back. Go experience it for yourself.
