    Classic Bennie
    Paul H.

Friday at 9:00am arrival (after the rush hour I guess) Kelly our server graciously welcomed us and was attentive. Eggs in the veggie skillet cooked perfectly and the potatoes cooked perfectly. The Bennie, eggs just right plus the best hash browns I have ever had. Super crispy outside! Experience was excellent! We will be back again.

Food - was amazing. Everything that we ordered was great. Drinks are amazing as well. I ordered an iced mocha, porto Bennie with a side of strawberry banana crepe. Iced mocha was average. But my brother tells me the cold pressed juices were great. My porto benny was amazing. It was a portobello mushroom base (instead of an English muffin), topped with goat cheese, asparagus (which adds crunch to the whole thing), poached eggs and of course hollandaise sauce. Flavors went really well together. My crepe was not too sweet and crepe was made to perfection. Although the drizzle is enough to also not add syrup. Service - good and bad. Server checked in and updated us quite frequently. However, between getting seated to us getting our food, we had to wait more than an hour. And we didn't long ordering at all. Ambiance - casual which is expected. Space is great, plenty of tables and booths. For a Sunday and coming in with a group of 3, we thankfully only had to wait about 10 minutes. The place was packed.

I thought sunrise social was ok. I had the portebella mushrooms with egg whites and cottage cheese. Thr mushrooms were super thick, like a steak and very flavorful. The latte was ok. The toast was hard like a crouton, however. Compared to other breakfast spots in the area, I feel like sunrise social is mediocre. They do have different drink flights for lattes that look fun and something different.

So, when visiting them, we decided to stop by here for breakfast. The atmosphere is cute, I guess. Neighborhood greasy-spoon/diner vibe, with obvious regulars and staff greeting them. Our waitress was brash and frankly, barely came around, so maybe they favor the regulars here? Not sure. I asked for an Iced Coffee, was given bland cold brew. The food was decent but not great. The Irish Benedict was very heavy, and the hollandaise sauce tasted like grease. My Dad got a Traditional Breakfast. He said the eggs were fine but the sausage was slick with grease. The best item was the pancakes, so I guess this restaurant is named accordingly. No, I wouldn't come back, due to the mediocre service and food. However, this location has shut down/is shutting down since I visited a few weeks ago. Can't say I'm surprised!

I was there on Easter Sunday with my family enjoying my (delicious) meal when we heard some commotion at a nearby table. The commotion was coming from a server who seemed to be having some sort of informal meeting with upper management. The server was basically yelling at upper management and being very rude. I don't even think upper management was able to get a word in. Since I'm always here with family, I know one of the managers on a first name basis (Eric). Eric is such a kind and helpful employee. He was one of the individuals being yelled at by this server. I'm not sure the other managers name but she had dark hair. They did a great job handling the very uncomfortable situation. I felt so bad for both of them having to deal with this situation on top of a holiday weekend. Besides the managers handling this situation with such grace, everything else was awesome! I ordered the veggie skillet and iced latte. Both were delicious as always! I will continue to support this restaurant as they truly are kind individuals with amazing food!

While our server was very nice, she was relatively absent. It took a long time for us to get something as simple as bread, and often, we had to ask multiple times for things. Beverages took forever, and although I ordered two of the same drink, they were completely different each time and lacked consistency. They were out of...steak, of all things, on an important weekend. We were going to order four ribeyes ($60 each), and instead ended up having to order items that were at least half the price--very much a missed business opportunity. This continued into the main course, as well. When we got our food, everything was cold. We were ready to go so we asked for the check, and then, it was taking so long for it to arrive that we ended up just finding the server and paid. We really wanted to like this place, but by the time we were done, we wished we had gone anywhere else. I believe it was a combination of being short staffed and just not being operationally prepared to run a restaurant this size with what seemed like a fairly usually nice spring day crowd. We won't be going back, but we really hope they get it together and others will give them a try--we need restaurants like these to be successful.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance with dim, intimate lighting and a clean, modern presentation. It feels polished without being stiff, refined but still welcoming. Most importantly, it delivers where it counts, on the plate. We started with the lamb lollipops, cooked precisely to temperature and finished with crushed pistachios, pomegranate, and a rich demi-glace. Each bite delivered depth, brightness, and texture. The Dungeness crab croquettes were equally impressive, crispy on the outside with a delicate, herbaceous interior. Rich, but never heavy. The French onion soup is an experience in itself, served in a hollowed onion. Bold, deeply savory, and incredibly comforting. Service elevated the night even further. Our server, Karra, asked if we'd sharing and had the kitchen split our entrées into individual portions, a thoughtful touch. The steak arrived perfectly cooked, and exactly as ordered. We finished with the English sticky toffee pudding, warm, gooey, and unapologetically decadent. Montarra doesn't chase trends. It executes upscale dining with precision, care, and genuine hospitality. That is exactly why it stands out, and why I'll keep coming back. Go experience it for yourself.
