I haven't been here in a while and I went today. It was amazing, we got in and got seated right away. The atmosphere was good, everyone was enjoying their time and we were looking at the menu and all the food looked delicious. Our server Yesenia was very friendly and kind. She didn't rush us and was always attentive. Our food came quick and everything tasted good. I got the carnivore skillet and I also ordered the classic breakfast. I also bought one of their cups it was only 10 dollars. I will come again to this place. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO! Everyone here makes you feel at home. read more

We celebrated Father's Day here for brunch and were thoroughly impressed. The standout feature is definitely the generous portion sizes. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken breast was fried to perfection, crispy on the outside, and incredibly juicy on the inside. My wife ordered the Denver omelette, which was easily large enough to feed two, and it came accompanied by a side of huge, fluffy pancakes. An overall fantastic meal with great value. read more

SYRUP - Algonquin - Chicken and Waffle - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Algonquin, Illinois

Brunch spot in west Chicago suburbs with plenty of space for large groups. The menu here is huge and portion sizes are massive so you will definitely leave feeling full. Given the wide variety on the menu, the quality of food was just average. Most of our dishes were under seasoned, which might be preferred for some, but I found the flavor lacking. The fried chicken on my skillet cluck cluck was surprisingly dry. It was a Sunday morning, so understandably busy which made service slower than expected. read more

I wish I could give 3.5 stars. 3 is average, and not a horrible rating. I couldn't give it a 4 or 5 for 2 main reasons: some of our food was served just lukewarm, and the sweet potatoes in the Home Sweet Home weren't fully cooked. But the portions were huge!!! They do offer "small plates" but I thought that would be too small. Well- large was super large! Everything but the home sweet home was delicious! That dish just feels flat, even if the sweet potatoes had been cooked all the way. It was a busy Saturday morning, server was pretty attentive. Place was clean and brightly lit. read more

After a night of drinking from a local brewery, I wanted a "healthy" plate of food to fill up my belly. Syrup hit all the notes and it also had a lot of positive reviews. After looking at the menu, I saw Biscuits and Gravy, Country fried chicken and Chilaquiles. My tummy decided the latter option to be the best. The location was easy to find. Parking lot was pretty big. And despite opening an hour ago, the spot was filling up quickly on a cold Sunday morning. My wife and I went inside and we were seated and greeting right away. Sea Salt caramel Frappe caught my eye. And my wife got the SmOreo. They arrived quickly and in big glasses For breakfast, my chilaquiles came with two eggs, chorizo, black beans and breakfast potato's. The potatoes were salted perfectly and had a nice crispy edge which I rarely find in restaurants. The chorizo was flavorful and not oily at all. The chilaquiles were amazing! I decided to treat myself to a side of their billionaire bacon. It was thick cut bacon with brown sugar and spiced perfectly. It was not spicy at all but just spiced. A wonderful balance of flavors. The restaurant had a lot of seating available. But I can see why there was a big waiting list when I left. Our server was amazing. Overall, I am a huge fan of Syrup. I am glad we checked this location out. And I am glad to hear there are two more locations which are near me. I will be back to this restaurant... it is my new favorite breakfast restaurant now! read more

The wait was a bit long because there were a lot of people there on a Sunday. But it was cute on the inside. It felt a little farmhouse-like. Our waitress was very attentive once we got our seats. Absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious! Great service also. Looking forward to going again.

Eat at Syrup delivers very good breakfast fare with an eclectic menu that feels more at home in the city than the suburbs. The dishes are creative and well-executed, offering a refreshing departure from the standard breakfast lineup. Prices are on the higher side, but if you don't mind spending around $50 for two, it stands out as one of the better breakfast spots in the area. read more

The wait time and hostess area was overcrowded. The initial girl took my number to text me, then they were announcing (yelling) out the names vs texting? The atmosphere was noisy and cramped. We were seated right off the main waiting area. David, our sever was friendly initially however once our food appeared he disappeared. The blueberry pancakes were too thick and chewy. The classic egg breakfast was below average. The turkey bacon was undercooked as well as the potatoes. We had wanted to try this new place hoping for a good experience... read more

Oh my goodness if you haven't tried this place what are you waiting for? The raspberry mascarpone pancakes are out of this world. Drizzled with lemon curd syrup they are simply the best pancakes I have ever had. The omelette with goat cheese, fresh, asparagus, and roasted red peppers is stellar. This place gets slammed on the weekends and they limit you to 90 minutes because there's so many people waiting to enjoy this incredible food. The atmosphere is a little noisy, but the place is modern and clean. The wait staff is efficient and cheerful. Our server Jackson was very helpful in deciding what to order. read more

My husband and I returned to Syrup for the first time in a few years having moved out of the area. The experience was very disappointing. I ordered the Avocado Toast on Gluten Free bread. One slice of Udi's bread (tiny!) with smashed Avo comprised my portion. $16.50! I spoke to the waitress who sympathized and said they have had complaints like mine before but the management has not changed their portion or price. The restaurant assessed an up-charge for my GF bread as well. Additionally there were several signs posted warning customers of a minutes restriction when crowded, and an inability to seat incomplete parties. All in all, Syrup has changed, not for the better, and we won't be back. read more

I'd been wanting to try SYRUP since moving to the area, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Like most popular breakfast spots on the weekend, it was packed, and we had about a 30-minute wait, just as they told us. After we got seated, it took a little while (10-15 mins) for water and menus, which was probably the only downside since we already knew what we wanted to order. The decor here is super cute, bright, and modern--perfect for a fun breakfast vibe! They also have plenty of seating to handle all kinds of group sizes, which is great. Our waitress was super sweet and had some great recommendations. My boyfriend was set on a blackberry limeade, but she suggested the lavender version, and it was SO good. I got the Cluck Cluck Skillet because the chorizo gravy sounded too good to pass up, and it didn't disappoint! The skillet was delicious, though they really load it up with potatoes--probably a bit more than I could handle. But overall, great food and huge portions for what you pay. I'd totally come back for the skillet. SYRUP's a great spot if you're craving a solid breakfast with an awesome atmosphere! read more

I met my daughter here for breakfast at this local eatery. It's a nice place, simple and unassuming, but the prices are quite high. The food was somewhat bland; I ordered the breakfast sliders, but they lacked flavor and seasoning. They offer soda and child's juice cups priced at $4.00, which seems overpriced for the portion size. Throughout our meal, the server repeatedly approached us to ask if we were ready to order, despite us having been seated for at least five minutes, which was quite annoying and disruptive. We will not be returning. read more

Whole family for breakfast, everyone loved the food, it was SO plentiful. You can see it's "homemade" and there are some fun and "unusual" little things (syrups!) etc. that make this place fun. Server was great, we were seated quickly (party of 8!) and really had fun. Clean place, fun vibe and it's just a bit better than Burnt Toast up the road. read more

We came to this place because I wanted classic American pancakes, and my girlfriend wanted to go anywhere that wasn't Mexican or Asian (my two "go-to spots" ever since moving here from Los Angeles). And "SYRUP" did not disappoint, at least as far as it's amazing menu went. I only ate here once, so it is difficult for me to score this entire restaurant based on the few dishes that I tried. So, I should really go back here - except for one problem - I truly don't want to go back here. "SYRUP" is lively, energetic, fast-paced, & fun. But that same energizing crowd also slows the servers down, and maybe even drives simple things out of their minds. I found that requests that were not written down were often forgotten, like refilling water & coffee, or bringing extra syrup. But service was not the issue, they did the best they could. The issue was the price vs. the quality. The food was better than Denny's or Norm's, but it was a notch below Cracker Barrel. And SYRUP's price for it's dishes were High. But again, the dynamic energy of SYRUP does offer a lot. read more

Waited about 10 mins for a table. Once we ordered are drinks arrived in no time. Impressed. It was a busy breakfast hr, but it was also a Saturday. Very big portions. Well food is great atmosphere etc... what ruins it was the finger licking manager handing out the menus and silverware

Good food. Good service. Nice ambiance. This place can get pretty busy on the weekends. The food tends to be more creative than the average breakfast restaurant. I had the home sweet home, which is two eggs, diced sweet potatoes, red pepper, onions and kale. Includes goat cheese too. Very good and healthy. Their coffee is good and hot. My only real complaint is their toast. It's never really toasted long enough to get browned. It's like luke warm and barely toasted. Food prices tend to skew a little higher too. read more

I had the carnivore skillet, which was about 75% potatoes, to be honest I think saying the meat was 25% of the dish is generous. Other than that, it tasted very good and the iced latte was delicious. My son had the lemon berry crepes, also delicious, wished the portion was bigger. The food also arrived quickly after we ordered. Our server, Marco was very good: pleasant and attentive. read more

Delicious food & good coffee! They have a big menu and there were a lot of good options. We got the cluck cluck skillet and nova Benedict - both were delicious. The portion size is huge and they also serve 5 egg omelets! We also got a side of buttermilk pancakes with blueberries. They have homemade cream cheese syrup that was absolutely delicious with the pancakes. Orange juice was fresh and my tiramisu cold brew coffee hit the spot. It was super busy on a Sunday but we got seated right away. The service was excellent and super quick. Can't wait to come back and try more!!!! read more

We love St.Charles Syrup, so decided to try this location. They are not as good as St.Charles, the mimosa was warm!?!?!? The cucumber lime drink was not as tasty as St.Charles. The names are slightly different but same ingredients. The bacon tasted horrible. My crepes were really good though and the waffle flight was good. Service was good. They don't have a bar or booths, the way St.Charles does, so it's very loud and screaming children, ugh! Will not be back to this location. read more

Great food! I'm a foodie trust me ! Great cafe had pumpkin pancakes very very tasty!!

I find most brunch spots to be pretty similar. With big menus, it is easy to make the food mediocre. Not Syrup! I love the look of this restaurant, like a modern farmhouse. The service was great, everyone was very nice and friendly. I tried the waffle flight and absolutely loved it! I wish more restaurants did flights like this because I always want to try different flavors of things but don't want the full dish. This is perfect for those that just want a sample like myself. The waffle flight comes with 4 mini waffles. My two favorites were the lemon raspberry and the coconut strawberry waffle. The chocolate bacon was a little odd and the brown sugar banana was a bit sweet. But hey, now I know what flavors to get for next time! My friend got the nutella strawberry crepes and they were so good! Overall, I would like to come back and try more of the menu. FYI, we came on a Sunday morning around 9:30 and were able to get seated right away. read more
