Very cozy place felt like i was at grandmas the mushroom soup was amazing really tasty and I liked they put parmesan cheese croutons on top. the service was nicely paced had soup first then pierogi then the main dish which was breaded chicken with dumplings and beets. the place is super clean and nicely decorated. Frank was an excellent server. He was honest with his recommendations and let us know what he had and hasn't tried on the menu. My wife and I sat inside because it was a brutally hot Sunday with high humidity. That didn't stop many other patrons from eating on the adjacent patio with umbrella covered tables. I got the fish and chips and my wife got the sampler platter and both were amazing. Something about stuffed cabbage just gives you that feeling of nostalgia and tradition. The sausages were also amazing with the sauerkraut. As far as the fish and chips, I thought that both the fish and the fries were fried perfectly. The sauce was tart and savory and we would absolutely order both dishes again. The prices were a shade high, but for an afternoon date, it was worth it. I came here with a few coworkers and we had the best lunch. Everyone ordered salads, they were so fresh and yummy. I ordered the beet salad with salmon and didn't even need dressing it was so delicious. I tasted a piece of chicken from my coworkers salad and it was really good. Very disappointed. Tried to go there yesterday we called earlier in the day to make a reservation because of Father's Day. Some guy answered and we were told we didn't need to make a reservation for five of us at 5:30. When we showed up there was one table open with a reserve sign on it. What a great little lunch spot. The restaurant has a clean cute interior inside what was once a Victorian style farm house. There is on street parking. The restaurant is under new ownership as of about 30 days ago and the owner and staff couldn't have been kinder and more accommodating for a girl in a wheelchair with a broken leg. The restaurant is totally wheelchair friendly with a ramp, wide doorway and uncluttered interior. Along with the nice interior they have a front porch with seating and a beautiful patio area with umbrellas outside. The new management no longer sells crepes but they don't need them. I ordered the buratta salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, spring greens, and balsamic dressing. It was excellent. I also had the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was marinated with spices that were unique and delicious. The fries were hot and crispy and came with a red cabbage slaw. My husband had the Polish sampler dinner and he said it was one of the best he has ever had with a savory and crispy sausage, potato pancake, stuffed cabbage with a Polish red tomatoey sauce. Ask for applesauce and sour cream as a side. They have many flavors of creamy gelato for desert too. What a gem of a restaurant in downtown Algonquin. We will definitely return! read more

This was my wife's birthday lunch. We rarely go out to eat so this was to be something special, her choice, she happens to be Polish. We ordered simple appetizers. 10 pierogies and 6 pierogies . Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes. For appetizers. They finally arrived and were nothing more than mediocre at best. 2 1/2 stars to their pierogies . BTW, this was lunch at 1pm on a Sunday. Should have been a slam dunk. Ambiance? What ambiance? Crap music from a tinny speaker played annoyingly above our heads (indoor dining). After we finally got our food, our server asked how our meal was then we never saw her again. We had to ask another server for our check. Ridiculous. Never again. They have help issues? That's a "them" problem not a "me" problem. Lunch shouldn't take 2 hours. read more

I first visited on Saturday 9/2/23 and was not super impressed. The sever was a bit cold. They are not very accounting dietary restrictions. The one item I could have (other than salad), that was one the breakfast section of the menu, I couldn't get because it was past 11:30 am and they refused to make it for me. Citing that the kitchen is very strict. So what?! Get unstrict! This was not my choice to go here. I was with 5 other people who chose it. There was another member in my group that also had restrictions and wanted the same item I did. Nope! Neither of us could get it. If they can't offer items after or before a certain time, then they should have separate menus. I likely won't be back, and I probably won't recommend this place to anyone. read more

This little place is a gem on Main Street Algonquin. The food was freshly homemade - we each ordered a delicious crepe but our favorite was the salmon crepe. Very reasonably priced for the nice portion and taste. Manager, Nico, was friendly and welcoming as was the super nice staff. Average food and shockingly bad service. We loved this place until it closed about a year agp. Unfortunately it's taken a nose dive.

Stopped in to find out about establishment this Saturday 7-19-2025 and arrived at 10:40 PM...Clearly before closing with their Open sings on. Prior to entering a woman approached us and said we could not come in and they were closed. Apparently they did not want us in and made this very clear. However there will still quite a few people inside and enjoying themselves. Perhaps a tad clickish or what...? Mabye Algonquin should check on liquor license and who is actually allowed in here later.... read more

We just discovered this gem and couldn't recommend it enough! The food is amazing and the presentation is wonderful. The cuisine is a mix of European and there are even some Polish dishes. From their main courses, we tried the beet and feta salad and the Polish Zapiekanka (toasted baguette with mushroom, melted cheese, and garnished with chives with ketchup on top). They even have a kids menu, including Mac and cheese, freshly made fries and chicken fingers. The best part was the gelato and lavender latte. We will definitely be back soon! read more

My wife and I went to Garden on Main with my daughter and her finance for a late lunch. I was told by a neighbor to try them out. My daughter and I had the soup of the day. ( Can't remember the name but had egg and sausage ) The soup was recommended by our waitress and it was a great choice !! The food was GREAT and the service was just as good !! We joked with one of the waitress the food taste like someone mom made it. She stated that there are two mom's in the kitchen cooking right now. The food was very flavorful, fresh and a lot of it ! We try pierogi with cheese and potatoes, thick dough, very little farmer cheese inside no black pepper or fry onion . Breaded chicken two inch thick without any flavor the same breaded pork chops, no salt or black pepper. For only appetizers wait time was 25 minutes. No waiters speak polish or have any knowledge of polish dishes their serving . We ask for sprite and fiji water waiters never bring for us .
