Frank was an excellent server. He was honest with his recommendations and let us know what he had and hasn't tried on the menu. My wife and I sat inside because it was a brutally hot Sunday with high humidity. That didn't stop many other patrons from eating on the adjacent patio with umbrella covered tables. I got the fish and chips and my wife got the sampler platter and both were amazing. Something about stuffed cabbage just gives you that feeling of nostalgia and tradition. The sausages were also amazing with the sauerkraut. As far as the fish and chips, I thought that both the fish and the fries were fried perfectly. The sauce was tart and savory and we would absolutely order both dishes again. The prices were a shade high, but for an afternoon date, it was worth it. We'll be back because we were too full to taste the gelato.

I came here with a few coworkers and we had the best lunch. Everyone ordered salads, they were so fresh and yummy. I ordered the beet salad with salmon and didn't even need dressing it was so delicious. I tasted a piece of chicken from my coworkers salad and it was really good. The waitress gave us a lot of space so we could talk business and enjoy our meal. It looked like they had a patio outside which will be perfect for summertime hangs. Can't wait to be back!

Amazing service & the CUTEST patio in downtown Algonquin! We had a few beers and pierogis for a snack & they were phenomenal! They are so friendly there AND found out they are dog friendly which is a bonus! This will definitely become my patio for the summer!!!

What a great little lunch spot. The restaurant has a clean cute interior inside what was once a Victorian style farm house. There is on street parking. The restaurant is under new ownership as of about 30 days ago and the owner and staff couldn't have been kinder and more accommodating for a girl in a wheelchair with a broken leg. The restaurant is totally wheelchair friendly with a ramp, wide doorway and uncluttered interior. Along with the nice interior they have a front porch with seating and a beautiful patio area with umbrellas outside. The new management no longer sells crepes but they don't need them. I ordered the buratta salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, spring greens, and balsamic dressing. It was excellent. I also had the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was marinated with spices that were unique and delicious. The fries were hot and crispy and came with a red cabbage slaw. My husband had the Polish sampler dinner and he said it was one of the best he has ever had with a savory and crispy sausage, potato pancake, stuffed cabbage with a Polish red tomatoey sauce. Ask for applesauce and sour cream as a side. They have many flavors of creamy gelato for desert too. What a gem of a restaurant in downtown Algonquin. We will definitely return!

I love Polish food and was so excited to go to Garden on Main. It exceeded expectations! Great, authentic food. Polish beers and cocktails. We didn't sit outside, but the patio with bar looked so relaxing (and European). We had beet carpaccio, peroigies and cabbage role. I can't even say which dish was my favorite. Can't wait to go back!

the food is amazing, my friend and i went there over the weekend and it was a very good ambiance, even for families we had a burger and a steak sandwich and it was very juicy and not salty at all, just be prepared to wait for the food, service is kinda slow but it's definitely worth the wait... definitely going back

Haven't been inside the actual place yet but i've doordashed them twice this week because of these pierogis! both the pork and potato options taste incredibly homemade and are so so good. I've also had the fried shrimp and the saganaki burger, both are incredible. The coffees amazing too! love this place

So the space here is mostly taken up with pizza boxes and a long food service table, with a narrowish aisle to order your food / desserts. They have meatballs; various pizza slices and whole pizzas (unlike the new place next door, they'll serve you slices all day); lasagna and manicotti. There are other things but I'm a vegetarian so I zone out the minute I see "sausage." Vegetarian? They default to a marinara red sauce and vegetable is one of the default slices. I didn't see eggplant parmesan on the menu, but they told me if I ask for it (advance notice would be helpful) they'll make it. Entrees are served hot. The manicotti and lasagna are delicious; the manicotti is not a big pan but a take-out container with two manicotti rolls; will feed one hungry person but wouldn't be enough for two people. Service is still friendly although the space is now a little cramped. The cake and gelato, etc. are still delicious, so I stand by everything I said about dessert in my earlier review.

If you're looking for a more upbeat, lively vibe, grab a table near the bar. For a quieter, more romantic date night, the main dining room is perfect. They also have an overflow dining area, which is great when they're busy (and they usually are for a reason). The wine selection is excellent, and the bar staff can make just about any cocktail you're in the mood for. On my visit here, I tried a different set of items from my Schaumburg visit to test the consistency of quality across different flavor profiles and dessert types, and it delivered perfectly. The mango gelato here is incredible -- with probably the strongest mango flavor I've ever had in a gelato. The Lotus was an elevated version of one of my favorite biscuits. The gelato is incredible, creamy and flavorful -- and something I'd happily serve with most any dessert. The waffle was flavorful as usual which paired perfectly with the chocolate mix. I also wanted to try My Passion to get a mix of different fruits -- as I was pleasantly surprised by how fresh the fruit was at the other location. This was equally as great, with fruit presented at the perfect ripeness. Extra kudos to the kiwi which wasn't sour at all, and in fact was one of the first items to be finished completely. The pineapple was also super juicy, sweet, and flavorful. I wish we'd gotten more eclairs, as the filling was super delicious. Maybe the weakest item in this dish was the brownie, which was only good -- while everything else we'd tried was great to amazing. Overall, worth a special trip for any dessert lover. The name is Undici Gelato in Itasca. The owner, whose name is Antonella, spent years with top chefs to create the most perfect Gelato. The flavors change by the week and are all made with fresh fruits and creams. Nothing is artificial. I had been here many months ago as a suggestion from a friend to try their out of this world Gelato. I again was contacted by a subscriber who told me that I needed to try their new shakes made with fresh gelato. They said it will blow my mind with how good it is. I arrived at around 4 o'clock on a Friday. I sat at the bar area of Undici. I spoke with Antonella for quite some time. She is such a wonderful and friendly owner. I could not wait to try this shake that she had in store for me. I opted to get my shake as a malt. The shake consisted of fresh strawberry gelato. When I tell you, I took my first sip and it took everything in me not to chug the entire shake right then and there. You could taste the fresh strawberries. You could also taste the high-quality cream. It was like drinking pure silk. It was so creamy and smooth, one if not the best shake I've ever had in my life. I had to get one to bring home to my wife so she could also try this confectionery masterpiece. The price of this super high-quality shake was only six dollars. It blew my mind. There is another shake and location literally a block away from here that I did a review on. They were charging $14 for a shake that could not hold a candle to the flavour and quality of this shake. As I sat and talked with Antonella, enjoying my shake, she also told me she had another drink that she was introducing to the menu. It was what she called an Italian spritzer that she wanted me to try. The drink before I tasted it looked so beautiful and refreshing. I took my first sip and it took me back to when I was in Italy. The flavours were a subtle orange with hints of citrus. It was a wonderful and refreshing drink to have on a summer day. I cannot stress enough that all of you need to go here for the best in Gelato. The quality and flavor is like nothing you've ever had. Follow her on Facebook where she updates her flavors weekly. Undici is open at 4 o'clock on Fridays to close. It is also open on the weekends. Check hours before showing up. I never recommend a place without my stamp of approval. Check Undici Gelato out and you can thank me later. I rate Undici in Itasca a 9.3 out of 10.
