I can't say enough wonderful things about Port Edward. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and truly special. Cynthia went above and beyond to bring my vision to life in such a short amount of time, her attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference. The bar and wait staff were incredible throughout the entire evening, so attentive, kind, and professional. Everything flowed effortlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy the night. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I'm so grateful to the entire team for making it so perfect.

We haven't been here in quite some time. And guess what... It's still very good. We went early on a Saturday afternoon, the outside bar was packed, it's such a great spot right off the river. Their were only a few of us inside on a nice afternoon. Service was attentive and experienced. We had a great sampler appetizer, really tender and very good calamari, like a bang bang shrimp and stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms could have been a bit warmer, but everything was really good. They still have a great old school salad, I have always loved their dressings and presentation. I had the walleye, which was perfectly cooked, and delicious. My wife tried one of the new things, the Sashimi Tuna bowl, which she really enjoyed. I like the nostalgia of Port Edward, and the food is still very good, and I hope they don't change.

We went to Port Edward's for the kid friendly Easter brunch buffet. It was enjoyable. And, our server was the greatest! This place is a throw back. When you walk in you see a ship in a pool with gigantic Koi fish swimming around. It's a bit smelly in there, but you get used to it. They seated us and then allowed us to head to the buffet. The buffet had an iceberg salad with yummy ranch, waffles, French toast, bacon, sausage, tenders, fries, mac, fried shrimp, potatoes, and more. Really good buffet for kids. No culinary standouts, but for $25, it was worth the price by 2025 standards. There was a bunny for photos, drink options and an egg hunt for the youngsters. For the price and the casual-ness, it was a good thing for families with young kids. I think we may head back for the regular menu to see what it's all about. The restaurant had been around for decades. I think there is a reason they still stand!

An indoor shot of the sail boat that is in yhe entryway. They have beautiful koi in the water as well.

What an amazing birthday dinner! This restaurant has been here for decades and is just a wonderful spot. The views overlooking the river are beautiful and the inside is warm and welcoming. The food is Fresh, super tasty, and was hot when it came out. The variety was perfect and the house made desserts were delicious.

Food was amazing!! Definitely pricey but well worth it. However the service was not great. Our server had to be flagged down multiple times. He came by and asked what we wanted to drink, then we flagged him down to put our food order in, and then got served our dinner and had to flag him down again as part of our meal was missing. Additionally, they are serious when they say you can only be at your table for an hour and a half. Two tables next to us got kicked out for being there too long. Live music, they were great! Outdoor space was nice as well, very comfortable seating.

I loved the vibe of this place but the food and service was lackluster. While the coy pond, live music and bar area was super nice, everything else was a little disappointing. We didn't know about a cake cutting fee - $1.50 per person, which was unfortunate for our big group of 11 people. Our waitress also did a terrible job and destroyed our cake...a sparkler also cost an additional fee. Our dinner was so expensive it was ridiculous that we had such bad quality of food and service for the insane price. Oysters were huge and okay. Calamari wasn't great and tasted like it was previously frozen and then microwaved. The seafood pasta was the best dish, the other entrees were small and not great. The hand helds seemed to be the best bang for your buck in terms of portions. My seafood salad was nothing special, as was my boyfriend's soggy grouper. My brother's swordfish was also smelly and not great. My mom's prime rib for the Saturday special was probably the worst I've ever tried. Not a place for prime rib for sure. The clam chowder also nothing special. Since we had a big group, the waitress was just overwhelmed as well which was uncomfortable for us as she would make comments when she had to repeat herself and things were taking a while.

    Grilled octopus

We came in hungry and hopeful. The food was decent overall, but the grilled octopus completely missed the mark. It was cooked until it was crisp, and all I could taste was burnt charcoal. The actual flavor of the octopus was totally lost. Service was a bit lackluster. I asked for a couple of cucumber slices for my water. The server told me they could only do lime or lemon. Later, when I ordered the tuna sashimi bowl, I asked again for cucumber slices on the side. She said yes but forgot. I ended up fishing a few out of my sashimi bowl just to add to my water. Seriously, how hard is it to get a couple of cucumber slices? Overall, it just wasn't worth the 40 minute drive. If you're local, it might do in a pinch. But if you're driving in from across town, keep looking. There are better spots that actually listen and deliver.

For Mother's Day there was an open buffet with open apple and orange juices. Food was okay and very expensive, $80 a person. Of course, the gratuity was already taken out. Not to mention the $10 a person to hold your reservation. The clams, octopus and crawfish were over cooked and dry. The mac & cheese wasn't creamy it was tasteless and watery. The vegetables were tasteless. The ham and turkey was processed. The desserts were good. My niece loved the chocolate fountain. I went to the restroom. Upon entering the restroom there you see a toilet door open with poop on the toilet. I found a clean toilet and upon my exit. I washed my hands and looked to throw away my paper towel but it was overflowing. I went to the front of the restaurant to inform the Host at the desk that the female restroom was flilty and needed to be cleaned. She said ok. Ok???? Over 30 minutes later my group was leaving. My niece needed to go to the restroom. She went in and came right out saying it stinks and is dirty. So therefore I will say the restaurant doesn't keep its restrooms cleaned and the food isn't of quality. IJS The service was great though. Ambiance was okay. I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THE GOOD AND BAD OF THIS RESTAURANT!!! We won't go back.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance with dim, intimate lighting and a clean, modern presentation. It feels polished without being stiff, refined but still welcoming. Most importantly, it delivers where it counts, on the plate. We started with the lamb lollipops, cooked precisely to temperature and finished with crushed pistachios, pomegranate, and a rich demi-glace. Each bite delivered depth, brightness, and texture. The Dungeness crab croquettes were equally impressive, crispy on the outside with a delicate, herbaceous interior. Rich, but never heavy. The French onion soup is an experience in itself, served in a hollowed onion. Bold, deeply savory, and incredibly comforting. Service elevated the night even further. Our server, Karra, asked if we'd sharing and had the kitchen split our entrées into individual portions, a thoughtful touch. The steak arrived perfectly cooked, and exactly as ordered. We finished with the English sticky toffee pudding, warm, gooey, and unapologetically decadent. Montarra doesn't chase trends. It executes upscale dining with precision, care, and genuine hospitality. That is exactly why it stands out, and why I'll keep coming back. Go experience it for yourself.

The salted caramel donuts and the Cooper's Hawk steak and eggs were some of the best items I've had from there. Let's start with the salted caramel donuts because...wow. They come out warm, soft, and perfectly golden with just the right amount of sweetness. The outside has that light crisp, the inside is fluffy, and paired with the salted caramel flavor, they're dangerously easy to keep reaching for. Definitely a must-order for the table. The Cooper's Hawk steak and eggs were just as impressive. The steak was cooked exactly how I wanted, tender, flavorful, and not overdone. The eggs were perfectly done, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside but soft inside, which really pulled the whole dish together. It's one of those meals that feels indulgent but still balanced enough for brunch. Between the cozy atmosphere, great service, and food that actually delivers, this is one of those spots I'll keep coming back to--especially for those donuts alone.

Just a quick update from our most recent experience…read more We were there for date night, last Friday, just after work and sat in the bar. Though we had a reservation, we found a quick table in the bar area, as it wasn't completely packed (yet) and there was a table open - like there anyway. Considering it hadn't filled, it was better in the noise department and could actually hear each other and it thinned even more by end of dinner, which made it nice. Kayla, our server was attentive and very sweet. Was very polite and real. Felt like a friend that was helping you, instead of a vibe of it's my job. Keep up the great work Kayla! Now for the food. Overall it was good and flavorful, but still - their pricing has to change. I have figured out that the less expensive items have better value, tonight was the pattern I have finally clued in on. My wife ordered Country Rigatoni pasta, subbing out Italian Sausage and mushrooms for peppers, onions and spinach (see pic). It was a healthy portion, tasty and reasonably priced at $25.99. However, my design your own surf and turf with Churrasco Grilled Steak and Ahi Tuna was not worth the price of $40.99. It was a very think skirt steak, folded so it looked thicker and 5 thinly sliced pieces of tuna, mixed veggies and mash potatoes. The sauce was tasty and gave it good flavor, but $40.99? Yikes, could have made it for $10. If I would have had the same meal at other places, it would have been much cheaper. Fortunately. Being wine club members, the wine was prepaid and $25 off for birthday gift and earning some points made it palatable (pun intended). We'll be back, sadly, I might just go for something less, as apparently it is more here.
