This has been my go to place for years Iwent this week for the first time in a while as we were out of town. Lets just say sadly we will not be going back as the place is pretty disgusting. 1. The carpeting is filthy dirty and beyond repair, I know running a restaurant is hard but come on. 2. The tile in the place is original from when an American buffet place was there 40 years ago, so between the carpeting and tile it is dirty. 3. I have been to buffets all over the country and never have I seen throw away plates along with the cheapest plastic silver wear ever. 4. This place used to be ok, never great. Went there Thursday at 12:30 for the lunch buffet. They have become a joke. They now have styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery that breaks while you're eating. As busy as they were most of the food was cold, and the general tso chicken was overcooked, like it had been saved from the day before and microwaved. Went here for dinner after shopping at Pleasant Prairie, and it was a solid option if you are looking to eat a bit. It had your typical Chinese food from sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, crab Rangoon, fried rice, etc. It had a good variety of seafood from crabs and salted shrimp. For 13.95 per person at dinner time, its a good deal for the amount of food. The quality was decent for the amount you are paying. They always reloaded the buffet with more food which is nice. Food was good, however using paper plates and plastic silverware was horrible. Then we must have gotten there in between lunch and dinner because the table with the seafood dishes on was almost empty so we didn't even get to eat everything offered. That was not ok. My husband and I used to eat there all the time, at least once a month. Well we moved away for 3 years and have only been back here for a year now. I have been eating at this place for years and have loved it. The variety of food is what keeps me driving out of my way for this restaurant. Their hot and sour soup could use a little more punch but it is very full of tofu, mushrooms and vegetables. I particularly enjoy the jalapeno pork, the hot pepper chicken and the General Tso's chicken. There are many items to enjoy that I don't take advantage of myself - a well stocked salad bar, a dessert bar and lots of sushi. I have to say that one of my recent discoveries about this place is their incredible fried fish. I actually enjoy this dish here more than any other Wisconsin fish fry! Their tartar sauce is generic, but the batter and tenderness of the fish is utterly amazing! If I have to be critical: fixtures-wise, the building is maybe a little tired and the men's room should really be gutted and completely redone. But I have never seen evidence that the place is not well maintained or well cleaned. I love the atmosphere of Super China Buffet. I can't believe with all the times I've been there that I haven't Yelp reviewed Super China Buffet which me and all of the friends call "Chinese". Why? Because it is the ONLY Chinese restaurant that we eat at! 1st of all, I've been a LONG time frequenter of this place going back to when they were in the building to the east of where they are now. I find ways to go multiple times a week. Hey family....lets go to dinner....Hey friend....lets do Chinese.....Hey other friend....well you get the point. Service- they treat everyone like family. You will never reach the bottom of your drink cup before they are filling it. You will never sit with dirty plates before the service ninjas take them away for you. So friendly, so helpful (please don't forget to leave a tip for them- they work hard for you :) ) The food....the selection is great. I can go with my friend on a diet since they have a great little fresh looking salad bar (and she can grab some of that fried rice as a treat). I can go with my family and my picky daughter as they have something for everyone up there. They also have a dessert bar and ice cream machine. The flavors are good, their selection is good. Even their soda is good. Yes...their soda. They have a great mix of syrup and water. You aren't getting a watery soda because they are being cheap. They offer Pepsi which is my fav too.... I live right across the street from this buffet, which makes it a super easily accessible spot for when we want to go out but not go far. Their pricing is surprisingly fair for a good sized buffet-- if I remember correctly it was about $11 per person. We went super late at night so unfortunately there were certain things that were starting to run out for the evening. My personal favorite food is crab legs and I pretty much finished off what they had left. They also have amazing dumplings in a small heated pot to the side of the main buffet. Their selection is great and their service is wonderful! The only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food's quality wasn't the absolute best-- still tasty and nothing to complain about though! The food here is runs from decent to passable when freshly prepared, but one sniff when you come through the door will tell our that the steam tables are occupied with old food and filled with old dishwater. The seating area goes from a little dirty to filthy, so pick your seat wisely. The wait staff are disinterested but quick when you catch them. I've been to tons and tons of other places but this one is definitely my favorite. I recently moved an hour away and will still make the drive to get this phenomenal food. The wife and I were driving through Kenosha when that sudden pangs of hunger hit... and while none of us turned into random grumpy famous actors, we didn't have a Snickers bar on hand to satisfy our hunger either. But we had something better - Yelp App! A quick review of the app brought up some interesting places, one being a 4.5 star rated Chinese Buffet? Did these Yelpers know what they're talking about? Apparently, they did... For $10 (at dinner), you have access to a plethora of Americanized Chinese food in this huge establishment. Six buffet tables of salad, cooked food, and desserts had something for everyone. And actual Chinese music to back! Crab legs are included as part of the buffet (seriously!) but they were definitely slightly salty and a little bit small... regardless though, for $10, that's a pretty good steal! The roasted and skewered chickens were pretty tender overall, fried fish was very tender and crisp on the outside, soups were on point, and most of the dishes were seasoned about right. The sauced dishes (Orange chicken, general tso, etc.) were a bit heavy on the sugar, but I've been on Paleo for some time and that sugar hits my tastebuds a lot harder since I've been deprived of it. String beans were stir fried just right, cooked briefly with crispness to it still. Service was friendly, not outstanding, but not bad by any means. Verdict: VERY affordable meal with good quality food that's kept pretty fresh, along with fresh cut fruit, veggies, and pretty good stir fry? Definitely a four star place. I've never given a review so low on stars before but unfortunately there is a first time for everything. Our first impression wasn't a good one. The woman who greeted us lacked customer service. Very serious, no smiles and my 4 year old said something funny to her and she said "yeah" and walked away... Not that you have to engage with a little kid but at least smile?! We then went up and tried standards we like. We sat down and were grossed out. The crab rangoon was tepid at best - barely warm. Same with the Hawaiian meatball - cool in the middle. I lost it with the "seafood scalloped" (as it was labeled" - they were going for seafood casserole like scalloped potatoes but it resulted in a white cheesy-gelatinous lukewarm blob. Seafood should be hot, not room temperature. I had to then eat something that wouldn't sicken me so ended up with an "ok" Hawaiian chicken, egg roll and some broccoli w/beef. Desserts were ok. Some fruit on the selection but it wasn't cold. Next to the desserts (specifically the ice cream machine) was a tub of tatar sauce - because, naturally, it makes sense to have tartar sauce next to ice cream vs. the seafood?! Well, the tartar sauce had a lovely ivory/yellow skin/crust forming in the top of it and it was t even chilled. I think the health department would have a field-day testing temps of buffet items at this place. Now, hours later, I'm at home, doing shots of Pepto and my children are complaining of stomach aches. Never again. I'd rather drive to the buffets in Round Lake (IL) or Gurnee than stay in my hometown and try to stomach this again. The only good thing I can say is the one guy who was very pleasant, polite and attentive who refills drinks, cleans and buses tables. We left a tip for him because he deserved it - he was working very very hard. Yes, their overall star rating is high but if you look at the reviews their stars decline with age. This may be a case of the place being good when it first opened but they have lagged and lost it as the restaurant grew older. Believe me, I don't like leaving bad reviews. I never do it, as this is my first poor one. I feel bad because it is a family owned place - but, I have to draw the line when it comes to food safety. I must say, this is one of the best i've ever had. aside from that, the dishes are all very flavorful and it was well worth of a try on our way to dells. The place is also very neat and tidy. I take my family here a lot, its right down the road from us. We're always seated right away and the waitresses check on us and are always nice. They have nice decorations like paintings on the wall, and a fish tank with lots of pretty orange fish when you first enter. They also have some cheap fashion like stuff you can buy, sometimes I'll get my daughter a mood ring but some of the things aren't the greatest looking quality. Lately they haven't had crab legs which is a little disappointing, but their other food is good enough to keep us coming back. Just recently I went to grab some take-out soup for my wife and they got some fresh from the back of the kitchen instead of letting me get it from the buffet, which was nice.
