Born with really bad astigmatism. Parents chose this optometrist for me at 5 years old. I'm 45 now. Been coming here for years. 2024, Purchased 4 sets (8 boxes) of contacts and only now discovered the Lens tech incorrectly gave me an extra pair of "rights" (I try not to wear contacts often). I have 3 "lefts" and 5 "rights". Spoke with a rep who said -Need to tell them right away if there is a problem -Must have been wearing the lefts only which is why I have disproportionate number of boxes (Not the words she used) That's weird!? The two boxes I have been using are not only marked on the box with my Left and Right prescription- So are the individual Contact capsules inside the boxes. Asked to speak to the owner about issue. She said Owner was not available to speak with me and then hung up the phone on me after attempting to explain the error in her logic. I've been going here for 40 years... ***40 YEARS*** Never once have a history of insinuating something in bad form to try and get one over with this place: This random lady refused to help me. She said it was impossible for the order to have been fulfilled incorrectly. I guess customer service and hearing out a customers doesn't matter to Sylmar Vision Center. This Office has profited thousands of dollars over the years from my return service. Since Doctor Forbes owned it in the 80's They won't anymore. read more

Immediately was greeted, and experienced no wait time, they were very friendly and helpful in explaining how they can help, after examining my broken glasses and were able to help in very little time. I saw Dr. Lopez and she was very sweet and friendly! The other staff members were also welcoming in my opinion. They made sure all equipment in the screening was cleaned. I didn't pick out any glasses I just came for an exam and to try different contacts. My insurance didn't cover the contacts, just discounts so I paid about $114 for the initial appointment and another $100 for my follow up appointment to purchase my contacts. This was totally fine with me! I know some places charge way more but it also depends on insurance policies. I did browse their selection and saw some cute frames too. Word of advice, anywhere you go not just here, is to just be mindful about your insurance and be aware of what it covers read more

I have been going to optometrist for over 20 years now. Always got my glasses and everything has been fine. I heard of this spot through a friend. I have been to most of the doctors in Valencia. I think I finally found my optometrist. My eye exam was very thorough and I was even told have previous damage to one eye that no other doctor has caught or informed me about. I got a good deal on some glasses that I have wanted for a while now and they actually had the Gucci ones in stock. Recently attended an appointment with a family member at this clinic. The receptionist and MA staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the visit. Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Debbie Lopez was disappointing. Her communication came across as dismissive and rushed, and it did not feel like the patient was given enough opportunity to ask questions or discuss concerns. The visit felt very "stop-and-go" rather than patient-centered. We've had much better experiences elsewhere and will most likely not be returning to this clinic. read more

Mother-in-law's glasses had a screw fall out making one of the arms fall off. Tried fixing it myself but I couldn't get everything lined up and the tiny little screw back in. Ended up driving here since they are local and not only did they get the screw back in, they didn't charge me even though, in this day and age of tipping and paying for every little thing I fully expected and wouldn't have been upset if they charged me $5, $10. They acted surprised when I asked if I owed them. I know it was minor but still all things considered I was extremely impressed that they didn't nickel and dime me.
