Disgusted. Swimtime and Rob McGinley were recommended to us by work colleagues who had given Rob a lot of business. We hired him to rehab our pool after we purchased our home, and we were loyal customers. May 2019 we purchased a pool heater ourselves and asked Rob how much he would charge for installation. Several of my email requests went unanswered. Then a response was received with the price, followed by a couple of phone calls scheduling the electrician to come over (which he did) to assess our set up. On June 5th I informed Rob that the electrician had approved the set up. No response. On June 7th I asked for an update and Rob responded, "Tryin for tomorrow." On June 13th I asked him if we needed to hire another company to install the heater because of the delay. Response: "No will be real soon." On June 20th I asked again, "When is the heater going to be installed?" The answer: "Monday morning." That Monday afternoon, I asked when they were coming and Rob responded, "After noon." They never showed up. Rob texted me the next morning that, due to rain, they would show up later that day. Again, no shows. On Wednesday the 26th I wrote, "Rob, the rain let up yesterday but no one showed up. We expect someone to show up for installation before noon today." Rob did not respond. A little over an hour later I asked, "Rob, where are they?" The final text I received from him was, "They are working there [sic] way towards you it ill [sic] be n [sic] today for sure." The installation never happened and I never heard from Rob again. For those who would say (and have said), "All Long Island pool guys are like that," I say, unequivocally, that's BULLS**T. Just because pool companies are in high demand does not give a business the right to disrespect their LOYAL customers in this or any manner. I would have never posted a negative review if Rob had been straight with me and said, "We're backed up. We'll see you in August for installation." Instead, he strung us along for a month even after I offered to hire another company to get the job done in time for us to enjoy some of the cooler June days in our pool. We are totally disgusted with Rob and would advise anyone looking for a pool company to avoid him and Swimtime unless you're a masochist. We finally hired Suntek, scheduled them to come within the week, and they showed up right on time AND charged us less than HALF of the price Rob quoted. Save your precious time, energy and money. Hire an honest pool company. read more

Unfortunately, I used Swim Time Pools to open my pool. Took them two weeks to get the opening started. However after that time, after many calls and texts that went unanswered to find out when the opening would be complete. I finally spoke to the owner Rob, to finalize the day that the opening of my pool would finally be finished and he let me know that we called and texted him too many times and he would not finish the pool opening that he was paid to do. Not sure what is going on in Rob's life that he became unhinged and unwilling to finish the job that he was paid to complete. Let the consumer beware.... Do not do business with Swim Time Pools. Most unprofessional and unreliable. Not sure how Swim Time Pools stays in business in this competitive market. read more

Need your pool opened? Do NOT call Rob McGinley of SwimTime Pools... he has been stringing us along for weeks, continually promising to be there tomorrow or Friday or next week, but when those scheduled appointments came up he would be a no-show. He would not call to say that he wasn't going to make it, and he would not answer his phone when we called to find out where he was. We have had to cancel so many plans and reschedule so many work hours and still our pool is not open. Save yourself the headache and go with another company. read more

I was hosting a huge party and needed a service call asap. My regular company, who had made A LOT of money off of me, wouldn't help. I called a few companies and then luckily found Swim Time! The gentleman I spoke with couldn't be more sympathetic and sent over a tech the next day. The tech had my hot tub up and running in no time. I booked the opening of my pool months in advance for a Saturday in May. I called about a week before to confirm, rob said we're all set. He called me the Wednesday before the appointment and told me he screwed up, and that he accidentally put me in his calendar for that Sunday instead of Saturday and they don't work on Sundays- he asked if it's possible he can come tomorrow instead. I told him we'd be at work but that one of us could take off if needed. He told me he'd let me know. Texted him that night just to double check he said, "sat am is good". Last I ever heard from him. Never showed, never texted or called. I texted and called 4 times, no responses. It's a week later and still nothing. Who does this? Nice business. Rob had a crew come and empty my pool and acid wash the walls. it looked great, but then he needed to order a pump.Said to call him when pool was filled which was two days later,this was June 27,2018. He never responded to my texts,phone calls, or emails. What i paid him included the super shock which I never received and I am assuming the first vacuum. Would never recommend him. read more

Swim time pools really helped me out with my pool. I am a new home owner and have never owned a pool. I had previously used a company that attempted to over charge me. After finding rob from swim time pools I noticed the honesty and the great service he provides. Swim time pools is an excellent pool company that offers many different pool services. Rob gave me the greatest rates by far for opening my pool and also gave excellent rates on prices for a new liner , conversion to salt water. Swim time pools really made my wife and I feel better about our pool. The best part of swim time pools is having Rob, the fact that you can call him all hours of the day for assistant is a huge plus.
